Anyone think with Alex rae being there that's a wee indication that it's muscat? Just with them playing together at wolves and rangers? Maybe sorting backroom staff for him coming over?

Banxger

1.) 02 Oct 2023 11:32:37
Not sure it's an indication of muscat but have a feeling Rae may stay on in some capacity under the new manager, I'd imagine he's been contacted as he's close to someone high up therefore would have their trust he can help settle a new manager, having ties to the club and as a massive rangers man it's only going to help especially if the new man has limited knowledge of Scottish football.

2.) 02 Oct 2023 12:00:21
2+2=5! He's there because Steven Davis wants him there and for no other reason in my opinion.

3.) 02 Oct 2023 12:16:06
Hes got the badges in and around the club, takes no prisoners and won't talk crap.

4.) 02 Oct 2023 12:30:40
Davis played for Southampton when Hasenhuttl was manager. Does that mean he’s going to be the next manager?

5.) 02 Oct 2023 13:44:53
Never liked Rae as a player or a pundit, hope he`s not involved anymore than short term.

6.) 02 Oct 2023 17:48:35
The only down side I see to muscat is one horrendous spell in Europe I wouldn't. Mind gallardo maybe pick up some bargains from Argentine league.

7.) 02 Oct 2023 20:09:16
Rae stopping commentating would be another bonus.

8.) 02 Oct 2023 22:35:05
I like Alex Rae and Neil Mcann.

9.) 02 Oct 2023 23:58:53
Alex Rae managerial career
Blackpool — sacked
St Mirren — sacked
Genk — sacked
Notts County — sacked
MK Dons — sacked
Dundee — sacked
Reading — sacked
Hardly Inspiring ??.

Hearing rumours of Gerrard wanting goldson in Saudi no sure how true. Be shocked to see him go there but money talks.

Banxger

1.) 26 Jul 2023 12:46:19
If there is any truth in it, I would be looking for big money and no deal till we signed a good enough replacement. Currently we have nobody close to being good enough to fit in beside Souttar in my opinion.

2.) 26 Jul 2023 12:46:54
How much is he prepared to pay.

3.) 26 Jul 2023 13:09:41
if we get offered 10-15 mill he would be offski and i would say a good bit of bness. can't see it happening myself but would give us plenty to get a good replacement in.

4.) 26 Jul 2023 13:25:38
He has his critics but just like Tav it would need to be mega money to sell Goldson. No bargains because its Scotland, Jota has set the bar as far as I`m concerned.

5.) 26 Jul 2023 13:34:16
Price I was told £9 million.

6.) 26 Jul 2023 14:14:00
Would take £9 million for Goldson in a heartbeat.

I like the big fella and he's been fantastic for us, so he'd go with nothing but best wishes, but for me if he's over the fitness issues like we've been told he is (the problem identified and rectified) Souttar is first choice RCB and Goldson is at a good age to cash in.

If selling him meant being able to sign Trusty and Panzo and still turn a profit, that would represent good business for me and leave us with Souttar, Balogun, Panzo, Trusty, King (in 8 weeks) and Yfeko (assuming Davies also sold) .

7.) 26 Jul 2023 14:17:43
I’d bite there hand off for £9m!

8.) 26 Jul 2023 14:37:55
Would take 9m in a heartbeat. No player should be unsellable. Hopefully we've learned that lesson by now.

9.) 26 Jul 2023 14:56:33
Do the bouncy you kinda answered your own? Because souttar is a right centre back.

I'm not saying souttar good enough though I've never been a big fan of goldson I think that area of pitch has fallen way short of previous rangers defenders

Butcher Gough Moore boumsong cuellar petric amoruso and many more

The standard really needs to improve.

10.) 26 Jul 2023 15:06:55
Surely Stevie G can round it up to an even £10m?

11.) 26 Jul 2023 15:09:47
John is 9m what Rangers want or what they have offered?

12.) 26 Jul 2023 15:30:19
My only worry is if he’s sold and I’m not saying he shouldn’t be but we are now getting very close to Euro Qualifiers and so many new players to bed in will be very hard.

13.) 26 Jul 2023 15:37:21
Yep would take 9m in a heart beat.

14.) 26 Jul 2023 15:57:21
Gerrard was signing Wright for £2 million, Then in for Tav. Now Goldson? Yet all he's signed is the Liverpool captain and two ex Celtic players.

15.) 26 Jul 2023 16:26:45
9m would be a great price for CG! Not sure we can put him in the Jota price bracket.

16.) 26 Jul 2023 16:28:26
I bet Andy firth is itching for a call from stevie G! ?.

17.) 26 Jul 2023 17:02:22
The only critics he has are idiots imo.

The difference in our team from when he was out to when he returned was night and day. Gets a lot of undeserved stick and the players also love him in the dressing room.

18.) 26 Jul 2023 18:16:15
Agree cope the big man should be up there with the best in our club.

19.) 26 Jul 2023 18:26:06
Realistically, you have to be looking at 10-15m for goldson. Long contract, we're not actively looking to sell and goldson not looking to leave. He's been a brilliant player for us and as cf says, sorely missed when not playing.

Not easy to replace. Would have to be a trusty and another good rcb.

20.) 26 Jul 2023 18:29:49
Regarding sterling, I think more it points to bb moving on. Sterling not coming here to play 10 games as tavs backup. Yilmaz looks to be no1 lb. Not dropping our captain. Unless someone else leaving, I'd wonder why he's came.

21.) 26 Jul 2023 20:40:51
I’d be wanting £15m for Goldson. He’s a very good centre half but makes the odd mistake.
If he was in championship he’d be worth £10/ 15m definitely.

22.) 26 Jul 2023 22:03:48
One Walter offered by a club for Goldson.

23.) 26 Jul 2023 22:56:02
Welcome back Michael.

Dave it’s a good site better info here than in the mainstream media. Just need to take everything with a pinch of salt but some of the names we sign get mentioned on here weeks in advance.

Heard raskin will be signing if this true very excited really like the look of him.

Banxger

1.) 19 Jan 2023 15:06:31
Cantwell will be unveiled Monday as long as his medical which is taking place tomorrow is all ok which it should be.

2.) 19 Jan 2023 15:11:41
Banxger this alongside Olaru would be fantastic, many say raskin is a Gio target, but we have been tracking
Olaru, raskin doehki and others since gerrard/ Beale days.

Most managers are happy to sign top top level players which I believe Olaru and raskin r

I wish we would try again for ivanic from beales first time at rangers.

3.) 19 Jan 2023 17:57:59
Ivanic from red star John? I was very impressed by him when we played them. I think he would have been a great signing too.

4.) 19 Jan 2023 18:28:33
Would love all of them and was really disappointed we didn’t get Doehki.

24 Nov 2022 13:19:30
I heard the deal for beale was almost off due to length of contract. Maybe that's why it has to be at least 2 year deal. Got to look at it from his point of view needs done security.

Banxger

1.) 24 Nov 2022 14:22:35
I'm not a fan of Beale and would prefer someone with more experience we keep getting rookie managers

But if this true shows you how unrealistic our board is wanting him to leave a secure job and not give him security ?.

2.) 24 Nov 2022 14:39:07
Keep getting rookie managers? We've had 2 (if you don't include mccoist) in 30 odd years. Strange takem.

3.) 24 Nov 2022 16:11:02
Whether it is Beale or someone else they will have my support. The problems at our Club are much greater and whoever comes in will need a significant transfer budget and total control over who comes in. if we do secure Beale, perhaps we should count ourselves lucky. From what I have heard others have declined the opportunity due to the failure of the Board to meet their demands. Sadly we no longer have a dynamic Chairman that can entice the very best managers, we don't appear to be capable of enticing even class 2 Bosmans to come to the Club, we appear to be run like an Amateur Club supported by a mediocre Family Business!

4.) 24 Nov 2022 17:23:24
Tjrfc mccoist, warburton, Gerrard and now Beale that’s in the last 10 years I’d say goforbig has a fair point!

Horse based on what?

3.) 02 Jul 2025 22:35:29
Give everyone a chance! It's getting harder to pick rough diamonds . But the finished article costs a fortune.

26 Jun 2025 07:03:59
With us looking like selling both main strikers, we'll need to get a couple in fast . Especially with Europe round the corner don't fancy doing much with just danillo up top. Hopefully go for that Croatian boy and the Israeli?

Banxger

1.) 26 Jun 2025 09:42:23
I thought Europe was across the water, who knew it was much closer.

03 Jun 2025 13:38:46
Wouldn't say Russel martin be first choice . But looking at his managerial career he wins games and league titles with high percentage of possession. I know folk will say that stat goes for nothing. But with clement he could only win games and league titles with counter attacking football. Rangers need a manager that sets his team up to break teams down keeping high percentage of the ball. I seriously think Martins style will suit us. My useless input but thought I'd write it anyways lol.

Banxger

1.) 03 Jun 2025 13:52:37
Your entitled mate. Hope your right.

2.) 03 Jun 2025 14:00:10
I don't think he's won a league title as a manager, i've not really watched a lot of southampton or any teams he's managed before so can't comment on that.

3.) 03 Jun 2025 15:19:09
Tav. Won a play off final against Leeds, apart from that league positions, 19, 13, 10, 12.

18 Apr 2025 09:00:14
Put on the man utd game after ours was finished! The difference in the way they checked penalties was night and day. Surely ours should at least be looked at! They were a better team than us i can except that. But feel the way any penalty claim we had was just overlooked without var checking . Something stinks from high heavens.

Banxger

1.) 18 Apr 2025 09:35:52
They'll cop out with things like he was holding for long or they didn't think he was getting to the ball, but we all know if it was a Rangers defender ref. would have blown for a penalty straight away.

2.) 18 Apr 2025 09:41:07
Looks like UEFA didn't want us in the semis.

3.) 18 Apr 2025 10:17:26
Maybe UEFA didn't want us in semi, but that decision is one of the worst ever… A penalty and a sending aff!

4.) 18 Apr 2025 10:24:43
It's really interesting, as I didn't see the game live, but was listening to it and the commentators didn't think it was a pen.

Was following the chat on here and everyone seemed to think it was a pen, so watched it back on X and my initial reaction was no pen.

Since then I've watched it and chatted it through with 5 other coaches and 5 of us are no pen and 1 is pen.

All six of us agree that theirs was a penalty and that the handball decision was also correct.

Im genuinely shocked that people on here are claiming conspiracies and corruption.

5.) 18 Apr 2025 10:43:52
EHL, Gio, Alan Hutton and Ally all convinced it's a penalty! Not to even have a look at it is criminal.

6.) 18 Apr 2025 10:44:58
Ehl I think it was a pen but would have been in softest side.
Arsenal got pen for less and player nowhere near the ball or even close to getting to it.
That's not the reason we went out last night we went out to the better team and also because of tactics and personnel changes. We went out because of Barry last night and 1 error souttar and 1 error again from our wonderful captain.

7.) 18 Apr 2025 10:45:15
What you explanation EHL for not giving a penalty and sending off when player rips shirt of player?

8.) 18 Apr 2025 10:58:18
Yately, think there's a difference between thinking it's a pen and claiming conspiracies.

What do you mean about not having a look at it?

9.) 18 Apr 2025 11:12:55
I tried writing a post but not sure if it sent or not so apologies if it pops usp along with this one.

EHL on what basis do the coaches think it's not a penalty for Dessers? Shirt held and hole ripped in it, it's a penalty all day long.

And the same question on the handball, arm is outstretched and wouldn't say natural either so for me also a pen.

I am shocked anyone wouldn't think they are both pens. Pretty sure in any other game they would have been given. Appreciate different opinions so would be good to understand why you and coaches don't think they are pens.

10.) 18 Apr 2025 11:17:36
Don't think it helped that Dessers threw himself to the floor in his usual dramatic style. Ally said by the letter of the law it was a pen and I kind of saw it that way too.

11.) 18 Apr 2025 11:28:41
EHL - my personal view was that it wasn't a penalty because it wasn't enough to make the player go down like that, and equally I wouldn't have given arsenal a penalty the night before because the player was never getting anywhere near the ball.

But regardless of my personal views. Both players were fouled in the box and that's all that matters.

If Dessers was breaking on the halfway line, he would have got a free kick and the offending player would have seen yellow. Therefore if a foul is a foul regardless of where it happens. Then it's a penalty and a red.

12.) 18 Apr 2025 11:41:41
Cooper, no question over the shirt being held - which doesn't always result in a penalty.

General consensus from the room on Dessers this morning was,

1. Was the holding prolonged - no

2. Was the contact sufficient to result in the fall - absolutely not.

Watch it back, the pull in no way shape or form causes Dessers to fall - he takes a step, realise he can't get to the ball and then pull back his own foot on the second step to initiate the fall.

The VAR team watched it and agreed with the refs call which Tav confirmed after the game was 'not enough in it'

Funnily enough, before the match a few of us on the chat were talking about how easily Dessers goes down and how frustrating it is.

13.) 18 Apr 2025 12:19:28
Send the ref to the monitor to check?

14.) 18 Apr 2025 13:13:26
Thanks EHL, not sure the relevance of how long the pull on the shirt is for matters. The defender has illegally and intentionally pulled him to stop him. that's a foul and yellow anywhere else on the pitch. Also Dessers throwing himself down is irrelevant as the foul has already been committed ( as much as Dessers diving irritates us all) . He was fouled before that just outside the box and didn't get a free kick.

15.) 18 Apr 2025 13:42:04
Cooper, the length of time a player holds another is pretty crucial in the application of the law - it was something that was introduced pretty recently.

16.) 18 Apr 2025 14:20:35
I agree with EHL on the one, I didn't think either were penalties. Seen them both given, but I would be disappointed if either given against us. Put it this way, I was furious at Sterling being given last week, can't argue that was wrong but we should have had Raskins, neither are penalties and two wrongs funny make a right.
