John put it this way. let's say I develop a player for 10 years and I realise when that player is aged 22 that I don't want them as they aren't good enough. Development fee, training costs are mandatory according to fifa, adopted by spfl.
As u suggest players could be priced out off game which is covered by all clubs, players, association being preset in specific categories.
This it states prevents a player who is released being priced out off game. Ie a rangers player going to Kelty would attract a category 4 fee applied to calculations
A rangers player going to say Chelsea attracts a category 1 fee applied to calculations.
It’s a great read only 87 pages, no wonder it is complicated.

If your getting someone like Lundstrum on a free and 35k wages what's the difference say if you buy someone for 3 million on a 3yr contract and pay them 20k a week. That works out you've paid nearly 40k a week over 3 yrs.
Look at Roofe reportedly on 35k and also cost around 4 million so he's costing around 55k per week.

It could cause disharmony in the dressing room i would say, lead to majority of players agents asking for a wage increase. Someone walking in the door n becoming our highest paid player when it can't be guaranteed he would be one of our best, I'd say sign for a lower salary with the option of a wage increase performance related/ dependant. Tierney has set a new bar now ladies. We have quality international players (I know goldson isn't one) but helander and Kamara have been spoken about at possibly leaving and the prices are not even close to what I think we should be asking. Helander is an international - and if PREM clubs want him (leic and villa) then 15 minimum! If he's good enough to play for two of the top 6 clubs in England then we should be asking for a lot more. Same applies for Goldson in my eyes.

Still a lot to play for this season so hopefully get some silverware as for next season I think a rebuild on the cards, McGregor probably done, Davis too, katic, Simpson, balogun, airfield, wright, itten, mcglaughlan, roofs, possibly kamara and Morelos, Kent, aribo will fancy a change, goldson I'd actually keep but think he's away. I say mcglaughlan as he's been unable to replace an ageing shadow of himself McGregor. Should Morelos actually stay we need to stop relying so badly on him and must sign a guy who can replace him.

Bearsden, I'm listing to what your saying and I'm hearing similar things. I've heard there is unrest between the board and that may be down to unrest. However you can't blame the chairman surely, he obviously wants the best for his club. You mentioned King, I can't see him on the board again any time soon, apparently he and the current board have had their fair share of disagreements. While Rangers have steadied the ship my opinion is they haven't recruited well after last season. There are to many players who apparently won't resign and want away. The league is over we can win the league Cup and are still in Europe.

Right if Patterson goes we stand to gain 10 million up front. potentially 16 million if targets are met and he's sold? I'm led to believe Patterson currently earns around 5k per week. say we get only 10 million I can't see us spend all that in transfer fees alone as any replacement or additions will undoubtedly demand more than 5k per week so unfortunately we won't want to increase wage bill and I suspect most of the fee will be put towards wages. Poor decision again considering we don't need to sell.

I think that your missing one vital part of this situation bears den and that is do you honestly think that Nathan Patterson would sign a new deal for a wage rise because i dont. Do you think he would be happy sitting on the bench for a few more years getting very little game time watching Tav getting picked every week. No way he would and now he's got the chance of a lifetime to play in one of the biggest leagues in the world getting paid millions of pounds. I know what option i would be taking. he's fulfilled his dream and played for the club he loves and now is the time for him to further his career and show the world what he can do.

Everton were always going to come back for Patterson and sadly, Patterson wanted to go. Benitez has made it clear that he wanted him as a replacement, (not backup) for Coleman. Patterson will earn at least £30k a week which is a massive increase, well above what he could have expected at Rangers, and he will be playing in the EPL.
At the same time, we have secured what will inevitably become £16m, since barring disaster, he will cement his place in the Everton first team very quickly.
I would also expect GVB to secure some of the funds received to bring in a couple of players that he wants to strengthen the Team. Transfer Deals, (including local to buy options), are not just about the fee agreed. It is also about the terms of the deal. For that reason I would like to think that we will secure some of the players that GVB wants and that they are available to play when the Winter Shutdown ends.

Barrowlad Rangers posted an operating loss of £23m to 30 June 21. An increase of £7.5m over previous year. Director loans although they are a debt to the directors are held within the balance sheet and are not part of the £23m operating loss. You are correct in that gate receipts were down, £17m in fact, a huge loss to a club like Rangers. Overall total revenue was down £11m. The effects of the Sars 2 C.V. cannot be understated. Government need to take their head out the sand before serious problems arise.
