I don’t have Facebook but got a call on the road back from the game from a mate who said Defoe has been in a car accident can anyone confirm?

1.) 28 Sep 2019 19:52:50
He’s ok. 👍🏻.

25 Jul 2016 21:41:15
Well tonight's game Barton strolled through it no end, Kranc just looks like he floats on air but my main positive is how good Rossiter looked in the 30mins he got! He put a tackle in and I know the opposition wasn't the best but he showed great urgency and he knows how to play a pass and also the most important thing he plays the right pass! Can't wait to see this lad get a full 90mins I think this boy is a steal at £250k.

1.) 25 Jul 2016 21:51:31
Wilson/ Keirnan looked as comfortable as ever with Barton in front.

Our Joey strolled it tonight. He'll stroll most games up here but his quality is there for everyone to see.

Can't wait for Hamilton.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 22:01:57
Guys really think we need to get a grip on reality. We had over 20 shots on goal and only scored 3, 1 of them a penalty. Barton was not impressive for me, he plays more sideways passes than Barry Ferguson did, . McKay? Why does he put the brakes on when he goes past even poor defenders. For me a lot of huffing and puffing to no great effect against a very poor team member
Let's hope it gets better soon?

3.) 25 Jul 2016 22:47:12
I don't want a grip on whatever reality your on bil72! The guys above are right Barton added a lot of protection to the cb's which was previously missing, rossiter likewise! Mckay wasn't as good as previous couple of games but forester more than made up for that with his energetic clever play, tavs delivery into the box was also very good.

A lot of positives to be taken even if it was against weaker opposition! We still have to go out and break these teams down.

4.) 25 Jul 2016 22:53:27

Can only beat what's in front of you! Barton and kranjkaer didn't need to come out first gear and still strolled it. I thought Barton was mom to be honest, hate guys like you, no matter what happens you'll never be happy.

5.) 25 Jul 2016 22:57:51
Bloody hell! I thought the team played well tonight and hardly had to get out of first gear. Remember most of these guys are finding their feet. As the old saying goes - you can please some of the people etc etc. But yes the lad Rossiter looks a steal. We are looking good, dare I say it!

6.) 25 Jul 2016 23:03:37
I thought Barry McKay bossed the whole game till he was taken of Fun!

7.) 25 Jul 2016 23:33:57
I was at game and thought Barton was a bit off the pace too, Mckay is great to watch and hope he goes from strenth to strenth. Stranraer are very average and the test will be when the league starts, lots of chances and ahould have had more goals but that'll come as game go on. Barton will be better as games go on too but all in all decent win! Moan the gers.

8.) 25 Jul 2016 23:46:29
Jordan Rossiter is going to be some player - I did mention him a few days ago and tinight he showed a maturity beyond his years - You can see the style of Gerrard in his play and movement - Superb signing -.

9.) 26 Jul 2016 00:47:58
Pierre, you must not have been at same game I was as Barton strolled it! In first gear I may add. Broke up play when needed, kept it simple but moving, won his tackles etc he was our best player with kranjkaer I thought, but ofcourse entitled to opinions.

10.) 26 Jul 2016 01:13:13
Didn't think Barton looked match fit and a few loose passes but his class is obvious. Thought mckay was superb. Niko oozes class too. Rossiter just slotted in to Bartons position like a glove.

11.) 26 Jul 2016 05:31:56
At the game last night and thought joey barton's passing range was very good, can't agree with a couple of the above posters that didn't think barton was good last night, although still not 100% match fit he oozed class and cruised the game and our defence looked a helluva lot tighter with his presence, kranjcar looked good in phases although a wee bit to go in fitness also, barrie mckay superb, but I've always been raving about him and I'm a big fan of his.

12.) 26 Jul 2016 08:08:50
People still need to remember that this is still really pre season. A silly competition format that has stopped us playing harder competition. The team has only conceded 1 goal. And I think in total there has been 10 shots in at our goal so it says that something has improved. Keep calm bears.

13.) 26 Jul 2016 11:11:12
Thorn76, i also thought wilson had a good game, he seems good when he has experienced players round about him, but he needs to stand on hiis own two feet, as he won't always have such comfort blankets around him, imo, he is old enough to play a good game, that's why he is vunrable.

14.) 26 Jul 2016 12:55:32
got to say for me McKay should have got man of the match but niko a close second the guys class oozed out over the pitch!

for me to say barton covered our defence well is a joke as we didn't have any defending to do.

rossiter for me would have been man of the match if he had played 90 boy reminds me of a young barry ferguson which despite what bil72 (the pessimist) says barry was a great player for rangers and if rossiter has a rangers carrer like him i'd be over the moon.

15.) 26 Jul 2016 15:49:29
Thought Barton looked overweight last night though still fit enough to stroll through a game like that. Rossiter reminds me more of Roy Keane than Stevie G. Kranjcar when fully fit will be the best of all the new boys. Think the League Cup has been good for us, for the fact that instead of meaningless friendlies, these small clubs have been competitive without ever threatening us. Its let us get our match fitness up to speed.

Being at the game today and now sitting back reflecting what a performance we put in on what I can only say a midden of a park! We showed today how far we have come and the mouth about them isn’t that great! By far the better team and in any other day we’d be holding that cup aloft but it just wasn’t to be!

Bears remember who we are and how far we’ve came and also what SG has brought to this team! I’m disappointed totally but I’m also upbeat with that performance as we were better all over the park apart from the ball in the net ( and yes I know that’s the aim ) but we have the Euro league and also our league to concentrate on and I’m even more a confident! Just wasn’t our day today but I’m far far far more upbeat going forward!

1.) 08 Dec 2019 20:21:59
Absolutely spot on Blackwoodbear, can't believe some of the comments on here, think a few need a reality check.

2.) 08 Dec 2019 20:39:28
Maybe you's want to settle for 2nd best but most people dont. We've backed SG in the market. 7m for Kent Aribo, Brandon Barker. Done nothing. Too many under achievers. Yes he's done well in Europe and we are 2nd in the league but he don't have the mentality to win anything imo. This season will be another season without silverware. Yes we played well today but it's not good enough. We lost. That's the reality of it. Massive game now on Thursday.

3.) 08 Dec 2019 20:48:12
So as would you sack Gerrard, have another clear out and start again.
Who would u make the new manager.

4.) 08 Dec 2019 20:55:18
Too many rose tinted specs on here. The signings are going to be Gerrards undoing.

Sadiq, Ojo, Ejaria, Barker, King (remember him), Coulibally, Lafferty, Worral, Grezda, Mc Aualy have or are proving to be failures

Yes there have been so good ones too (McGregor, Arfield, Katic, Defoe and Kamara) but many of them e. g. Defoe and Katic feature sparingly. Think of the money wasted on wages.

Gerrard was talking up Aribo big style after playing tidly wink teams but where has he been against them and in Europe? Kent went into hiding at the end there today too but hope he will live up to the hype as we have little Individual creativity out with him

Morelos is a big wain and constantly spits the dummy. He doesn’t have the class required and 11 games against then without scoring does not win leagues or cups. I fully understand that that is controversial as where would we be in the league without him but that just proves, we have not progressed as far as some would like to think.

5.) 08 Dec 2019 20:59:07
John25, I'm sure As1974 is not calling for Gerrard to be sacked. He is only stating the facts, won nothing and 2nd in the league, same as last season.

6.) 08 Dec 2019 20:59:20
I didn't say sack him. He buys players brings them in for one game then drops them and brings them back again. You've got to give people a run in the team. When you play guys that don't perform you will start to struggle. Morelos has been outstanding this season. he's Carried the team. We can't defend and have no pace. We don't play young players. The likes of Katic, Edmunnson or even give Dochery a chance. The boy Stewart has done excellent and doesn't get a game. Andy King. Never been seen. When the big games matter we constantly fail. In a captain you look for inspiration, commitment and drive. Taviener has none of that. he's been off the pace for weeks. There you go. Gerrard needs judged on trophies not what he done as a player. Its totally irrelevant.

7.) 08 Dec 2019 21:02:29
That's right Stuck. I don't want him sacked but there comes a point when you can't win anything the dury is out.

8.) 08 Dec 2019 21:11:15
Done nothing? its December. Today was a poor result, not performance. Unbeaten against Porto and feynoord, great chance to progress on Thursday. 2 points from top spot in the league. With an apparently awful defence our GA in the league is one worse off than c*ltic.
I can understand the frustration on here from some but some of the negative stuff that's been posted is just crazy.

9.) 08 Dec 2019 21:12:29
So guys why give him a new deal this week, would cost a fortune to get rid off, . We need to ride the storm.
Lot of players bought I r not the required standard but for now we r skint.

10.) 09 Dec 2019 01:17:27
I agree with a lot of both sides of the above. By no means am I saying Gerrard needs sacked, but if he was a less glamorous manager (say we had appointed McInnes) with the exact same results against them, performance in the transfer market etc., I’m sure a lot more of you would be asking questions. Too many of you more in love with the idea of having Stevie G as a manager than your are WINNING.

11.) 09 Dec 2019 10:32:54
Just hope this doesn't have a knock on effect for rest of season this was a really good chance to lift silverware. Celtic are a different animal without Eduard.

08 Dec 2019 16:57:46
Total robbery!

04 Dec 2019 23:47:45
Before tonight I was looking forward to Sunday but if we continue with the centre halves we have I’m really worried! How many times do people slate Tav on here whilst we have a worrying right hand side of defence as Goldson spends more times on his ar5e or complaining to a referee? The big Swede is slower than a fortnight in Bar L! Sunday will be Sunday and hopefully the lads will step up a gear because we’re playing the unwashed but I fear if we don’t drop one of the two with either Katic or big George stepping in with some pace it might be a long afternoon! Would you play Arfield? I for one need a midfield of Jack, Davis and Kamara and would let Kent ( if we had the luxury) to maybe roam rather than just stick him on a wing!

Slight blip and it’s early doors still but please SG make the call and drop one of the two of them!

1.) 05 Dec 2019 01:20:12
Two big concerns, only SG can address
Put out a defensive unit that can DEFEND on Sunday, not paceless apparent favourites.
Goals win cup finals. Use Stewart or Defoe ahead of Ojo.

2.) 05 Dec 2019 02:09:37
Not a chance I would be dropping Arfield, he loves it against them.

3.) 05 Dec 2019 07:51:11
Totally agree. I'd play katic ahead of any of the 2 but slight preference goldson who has marginally more pace. Arfield must play he can get into box to support as his goal last night showed and has scored against the manks as well. I like u was looking forward but defence worry me.

4.) 05 Dec 2019 07:59:41
I thought our 2 CB were terrible last night teams know goldson has to go over and cover for tav in turn leaves space and expose herlander who has no pace what so ever and goldson gets caught on the ball too much as well you think he would have learned from the Celtic game at home but he keeps doing it every week what’s that all about?

5.) 05 Dec 2019 08:35:00
For the big games like last night, europe, old firms etc. Katic and kamara should be in the team, aribo and ojo nowhere near it, said this for months. Can't for the life of me understand why gerrard has to tinker for no reason. Kamara jack davis have been bossing games and gerrard decides to change it for pittodrie. Unbelievable. Gerrard sticks with goldson and helander, god knows why👍.

6.) 05 Dec 2019 08:48:38
Honestly if we play as we did against Aberdeen Celtic will win 2 or 3 nil.

7.) 05 Dec 2019 09:40:24
Or if Celtic play as they did against Hamilton it will be stalemate!

8.) 05 Dec 2019 16:25:14
When Aberdeen got there 1st goal our midfield of full internationals btw went into hiding and got bullied by a young lad we thought wasn't good enough (Ferguson)

9.) 05 Dec 2019 16:40:20
so you didn't watch the game then. and defending near the goal line for the first is sunday football 101. not closing any angles? compressing the player? yep your probably right.

07 Nov 2019 19:26:43
I support any player that pulls on the famous blue jersey but I’m not seeing what SG see’s in Barker! Obviously before the usual jump on ship and say I’m not seeing him in training each day but I don’t recall a first team appearance where I’ve actually said he’s had pass marks! I’d have Ojo in before him but in Steve G we trust .

1.) 07 Nov 2019 19:37:41
Did the selection not work in Porto😭🇬🇧.

2.) 07 Nov 2019 19:42:13
More Fifa pros!

3.) 07 Nov 2019 20:01:06
Barker plaid well in Porto.

4.) 07 Nov 2019 20:59:47
SG expects people to come in from the cold and give a performance and that can't happen. SG is trying to use both Barkers pace and Kent. Kent is still not fit and neither is Barker. Both lack sharpness. We've been poor tonight. Expect a much better 2nd half.

5.) 07 Nov 2019 21:56:35
As, think SG did ok don’t you?

6.) 07 Nov 2019 22:03:19
a few people on here must feel stupid right about now! Half time comments were mental did people think we were just gona turn up take the ball and control the game against a team worth 100s of millions? Great battling performance the Tav haters can crawl back under there rocks for another few months he was immense tonight! Kamara immense but the main man yet again Alfredo what a player! That is the best result in a long long time love it 💙.

7.) 07 Nov 2019 22:35:22
He played well in Porto, so in he goes again.

8.) 07 Nov 2019 23:11:49
Tav was ok, he wasnt immense. And people haven't been hating on him. He has had a tough few games recently. Are people not entitled to have their say? I for one think tav has done a lot more good for us than bad but you hold your hands up if your accountable. He will get his confidence back soon enough and then he may be immense. I agree though that Alfie was, once again, the main man, and Kamara was class as well.

9.) 07 Nov 2019 23:14:15
The noise when fredo's goal went in was unreal. I thought we were shocking first half, didn't start the second half great either and then we just sprung into life. That is a huge result and should give us the incentive and confidence to kick on. I wouldn't have ojo in there blackwood👍.

10.) 08 Nov 2019 07:52:12
DK I Stick by my comment. SG does it a lot with players. Like I said, Barker is not match fit and neither has Kent. (I know he's just back from injury) . If you see the post on the top of the page I have ave other players credit. It's all about opinions and being honest.

30 Oct 2019 21:53:41
Ryan Jack has got to be a Rangers captain very very soon! As much as I’ll support any player that captains our team and think Tav has been over the piece excellent for us I just think Ryan looks a better leader on the pitch! SG has brought out the true Ryan Jack and not just the sitting holding midfielder that he was used by Aberdeen but the midfielder that also has vision and drive! His 60 mins tonight was probably the best I’ve seen in a Rangers jersey this term! The guy just wants to play for the jersey and he just seems a different player under our gaffer!

1.) 31 Oct 2019 06:22:03
Stevie g described jack as a proper leader.

From the best source I have and a friend and true gent that I worked with for four years. Played for the Bears and signed for Liverpool ( no names work it out ) but the story about MARCO rattling another players wife Iis true and the squash ball was actually a right hander!

Lads at the end of the day he ain’t a legend as such but what a talent we had for a few months he was at our great club! Alfie is a talent in abundance but as a natural finisher I don’t think MARCO could ever be beaten for that 33 goals before the turn of the year!

We all have our opinions as it’s what makes this page great!

I'm sorta on the fence with this one as he did what he did and I despise him for it but do I think he could do us a turn? Yeah I definitely do even if it's every other game but he knows what it's all about and I also think he'd want to make up for his actions before so I've no clue really if it's a yes or no from me!

I agree with everyone’s posts but for myself tomorrow I’d play big George as he has the physical side to deal with their centre forward but also the lad can play with the ball at his feet. I’d be happy with whoever SG plays as right now I’ve never trusted a manager as much for years and years and even though we made mistakes last season we all can see he’s got a different mentality this year and this reflects on the team!

Totally agree SGL! He’s a pro through and through and you can tell he looks after himself and in all honesty I think we could get another two years out of him! I’m also in the thinking that both him and Alfie could hit 30 goals apiece this season.

DK19 thank you! We all berate the guy but if our manager believes why not us? We could sit and pick out every single player that has made mistakes but what Tav brings to the team I don’t think we could get another player for the pennies we paid for him! £250,000 is not bad return for someone that’s given his all for the club and also chipped in with a few goals and assists but I guess the rest don’t see that!
