Seeing as I live in Newcastle, I never thought I would have a rumour to post but here we are. It might just be stuff that you already know though.

I was visiting my dad in Berwick-upon-Tweed last night and we were in the pub watching the hibs game and there was an older couple on the table next to us, who turned out to be Jason Cummings neighbours (Also turns out the lad is still living with his mum in Gorgie)

I asked if there was any truth in Cummings coming to Rangers in the summer and she just said that he was definitely looking for a move, but it depends where the money was. She also said when I asked about his attitude that he was just a young lad enjoying himself.

I know opinion on Cummings in Gers fan is split pretty much 50/ 50 but if anyone can sort this lad out it would be Warburton I think, and the lad obviously knows how to score a goal (Dundee United penalty aside) . The doubts I have however is that he is just looking for a wage and I don't think he would play for the Gersey. I trust in Warburton though either way if he does or doesn't come to us.

BorderRanger

1.) 21 Apr 2016 10:23:20
I agree with what you're saying regarding him, his attitude and The Hat's ability to knock some sense into the lad. I like the player I see but not the lad beneath it all. The boy definitely has an eye for goal and if MW could nuture the ned out of him then we would have one hell of a player. Only my opinion.

2.) 21 Apr 2016 10:55:47
the boys a bellend that's it, he was a bellend in school he's a bellend now everyone in Edinburgh knows who and what he is. I personally don't want him at rangers.

3.) 21 Apr 2016 11:37:52
Yeah, the fact that him and his family are Jambos and he's playing for that lot shows that he's in it for the wage. Much like a certain Mr Allan.

If he did join us I'd give him a chance to prove what he's about and see what Warbs could do with him, but I'm certain that for every Jason Cummings, there's another 20 players just as good technically and with the right attitude for our club. Between Warburton, Weir and McParland, i'm sure that they already have a very comprehensive list of what's needed and I can't wait to see :)

4.) 21 Apr 2016 16:21:45
Borderranger, it makes a diffrence from the garage fore courts, lol.

5.) 21 Apr 2016 19:54:21
Border, he is playing for that lot only in it for a wage? Kenny played for that lot then that other lot and look how good he has turned out for rangers.

6.) 22 Apr 2016 10:17:00
If rangers offered me a grand a week n that mob offered ten i'd tell them where to shove it. i agree with borderranger there are loads of players with more ability we could get. whatever happens Warburton IS the best thing since sliced bread.

7.) 22 Apr 2016 14:49:43
Not sure which part of my post is unbelievable to be honest.
I'd much rather take someone from elsewhere in the same mentality as the boys we got in the summer who have something to prove and love playing for Glasgow Rangers. Just look at the guys faces after Sunday. Tav and Barries faces after Barries goal showed true passion. I don't think we'd get that from Cummings to honest.

8.) 22 Apr 2016 17:54:45
Hearts let him go that's why he plays for hibs.

I was at the u20s game against Berwick last night and I'm sorry but I just don't see what Herrera brings to the team? We were just playing with him up top, but he just didn't seem to do anything of note. Think we could've been better sticking with Garner over him.
The wee man Atakyi looks like he could be a player though with some development, took his goal well.

BorderRanger

1.) 16 Nov 2017 10:02:11
I’ve been dying for Atakayi to get a chance, Murty will be the best judge for that however! Is his best position right side or could he play both wings?

2.) 16 Nov 2017 11:27:31
He seems quite comfortable on either side. I think he started on the left with Nemane on the right but they switched it up every so often

3.) 16 Nov 2017 12:04:07
Why are you sorry?

Just looking at the table this morning and we aren't actually doing as bad as most would make us out to be.

Sat joint third, 6 points behind both Celtic and Aberdeen. If it weren't for that awful refereeing in the Hibs game, who knows we could have just been 3 behind. But that's in the past now.

Big games up ahead for us, Saints away and a cup semi final. With Aberdeen playing Hibs then Celtic, hopefully all dropping points against each other. The gap could easily be shortened as long as we perform as we should.

BorderRanger

1.) 02 Oct 2017 15:35:23
Border ranger you are aware I am sure that we haven't played any of last year's top 4 yet and the only reasonable teams we have played are hearts ( draw) , hibs ( defeat ) and celtic ( defeat ) so I will wait till the first full round of games have finished and then see how we are

2.) 02 Oct 2017 16:10:15
Hearts and Celtic finished in the top 4

3.) 02 Oct 2017 16:25:05
Yes of course. To be honest I think the fixture list has been fair to us for the first round of 11 games. For the opening 4 games, Motherwell, Hibs, Hearts and Dundee (? ) I wouldve expected at least 9 or 10 points but that obviously wasnt the case. As the league goes on the team *should* be gelling and performing better. Can't imagine what state we would be in playing Dons, Saints and Hibs in the opening few fixtures.

BT pointed out on Friday that Pedro hasn't lost an away game since joining and our next 3 league games are Saints away, Killie at home and Hearts away (dunno if they're still at Murrayfield then) Again I would expect 9 points but realistically we'll win 2 and draw 1.

Be good to see where we are sat then as December will be a big month starting with back to back Aberdeen games.

4.) 02 Oct 2017 18:01:18
Baz the bear if you want to be pedantic to make a point check the facts . yes Celtic 2 places above us last year, hearts 2 places below us as st j were 4th. and hibs were in the championship so were 10 places below us and I might add 1 pt from 9 at home to these 3.and every team we have beaten this year are either bottom six now or were last season. we need results now .

5.) 02 Oct 2017 18:44:38
So hearts and Celtic were in the top 4 then

6.) 02 Oct 2017 19:36:22
Jonny G

Fair enough st Johnstone finished above hearts. Big deal.

The win at Motherwell is looking a good result, Hibs game we were a bit unlucky and hearts parked the bus.

Motherwell and Hibs will do well this year.

You should take your own advice though when banging on about stats.

7.) 02 Oct 2017 19:41:36
Baz the bear

No Hearts finished 5th it was St Johnstone finished 4th as for the Hibs game we could have easily lost that even if Jack had stayed on the park

8.) 02 Oct 2017 23:13:45
this is the thing a lot of rangers fans can't or refuse to see.

yeah sure we are still not at the level required but if anyone thought we would be after just 8 million quid being spent then they need a reality check.

rangers will continue to build in january and as long as we kkep the same mangaer and staff then i think we have a good chance next year.

id like to see the manager bringing in moult and walker is good but i'm sure we could get a better winger.

all this we need a new manager stuff does nothing for the team exceptput us back the way.

look at some of his signings yes not all of them have hit the ground running but if anyone thought that they would then they where kidding themselves on.
let the man build

9.) 03 Oct 2017 00:56:04
Build a team? You don't get time at rangers mate, you need to win!

10.) 03 Oct 2017 08:49:34
One for you Peds! Bearing in mind Cardosa cost over a million pounds is he really any better than Danny Wilson. Given that our left wing place is a problem and there was interest in england for windass. We could have got Walker and still been in a financially better position oh and look at what we got for garner and paid for herrera. Look at garners stats for ipswich.
Broadly our budget has been wasted

11.) 03 Oct 2017 17:09:35
Johnyg hibs and hearts should be going back to edinburgh empty handed we are Rangers ibrox is fortress or should be so hearts and doing well cuts no ice

07 Jun 2017 13:55:15
Paterson confirmed to be heading to Cardiff. Would've liked to have seen him with us as a good Scottish player but oh well! Hodson/ Tav out, Abella in?

BorderRanger

1.) 07 Jun 2017 14:38:45
agreed. he would have been an ideal signing for us. not costing much either.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 14:51:03
Might be old fashioned but would like a good mix of Scots and foreigners. Hopefully Dorrans on his way. All went quiet on the Jamie Walker front too (if there was anything there to start with. ) Would've been decent with Wallace and Walker on the left and Paterson and McKay on the right with Jack in the middle!
Think Barrie might be off though? Someone said he wasn't training?

3.) 07 Jun 2017 15:54:41
Would love to have seen Patterson sign, think he is a great player and will do well down there.
I agree, Would like a miss of British players and foreign, but I have to admit I'm not keen on walker. Would like to see wee barrie get a chance. Hopefully with a new style of play it will bring the best out of him.

4.) 07 Jun 2017 16:04:30
If Barrie does stay I want to see him on the right wing or in that Number 10 behind the striker and see how he gets on. It's too obvious what he's going to do out left and hoping Dalcio is going to play there or we get a natural left winger?

5.) 07 Jun 2017 16:20:19
I think that we have enough young scottish boys at the club, its time to see what the rest of the world can offer us in class players with possible sell on value. Stop 7 in a row then worry about where the players come from.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 17:06:48
Yea, I'd like to see barrie in behind striker. Can pick out a pass, and as we have all seen in the past has a strike on him

13 Sep 2016 12:04:42
I think it's time to "use the squad" as a certain manager likes to say. It's time to see some new personel starting as current ones just aren't working. For Saturday I would like to see:

Foderingham - Despite conceding 5 last game, I don't think he's had any calamities that would get him dropped.

Tav, Bates, Crooks, Hodson/ Wallace? - Assuming Keirnan and Wilson are injured and Crooks is fit. Senderos obviously banned and Hill, whilst a good guy, is not a good defender so far.

Rossiter, Holt, Windass - Young midfield 3. Rossiter holding and Windass and Holt with their creativity.

Waghorn, Garner, O'Halloran - McKay needs a wake up call and O'Halloran needs game time. Although Linfield not exactly great opposition, he still created 5 goals which is nothing to sniff at. End product isn't great though.

Subs: Gilks, Wallace, Hill, Halliday, Kranjcar/ Barton, Forrester, McKay, Miller/ Dodoo

I don't know what's happened to the team but how many games, worthy of being called Rangers performances have we had since March?
In 3 games before the Challenge Cup final we conceded 9 against Falkirk, QotS and Raith. We lost to Hibs 3-2 twice in a month. Lost to Livingston. Drew with St Mirren and Alloa.

First 4 SPL games I would've expected at least 10 points from bottom 6 teams, now we're 4 points behind Celtic, going on 7 points, and we still have Hearts and Aberdeen to play, who Celtic already have beaten.

BorderRanger

1.) 13 Sep 2016 12:17:12
Good shout BorderRanger A more hungrier younger and attacking team, And drop Wallace he has been Sh--e.

2.) 13 Sep 2016 13:19:54
I thought the exact same thing as you and the line up you went for was man for man the same as me, we badly need hunger and energy in our team and these guys will provide just that, i honestly can't see beyond a young hungry team, let barton, krancjar etc earn a place, if they really are interested that is.

3.) 13 Sep 2016 13:30:50
Its a shame like as I was buzzing when we got Barton and Kranjcar and they've been the biggest let downs! Barton been well and truly shown up and only himself to blame.

I would suggest a change in formation for something different but don't think management team will do that. Forrester is easily able to slot in for either Windass, Holt, OH or Waggy which is why I think he would be best off the bench, as he can fulfil multiple positions depending on the situation.

4.) 13 Sep 2016 14:20:59
Warburton must be careful. He was sanctioned to buy Barton and Krancjar. They are on mega contracts so what a financial and judgmental disaster if they need dropped because they are deemed to be curtailing progress on the park. No club can afford to waste wads of cash but especially RFC as we all know the financial position at the club is precarious. Celtic have wasted millions granted on strikers over the last few years but they have a sound business model and now an additional, up to £30,000,000.

5.) 13 Sep 2016 15:30:31
5 games in. Let's not panic. Team need time to gel.

19 Apr 2016 10:50:46
Just had a thought yesterday. We are all aware that we will be bringing in 4-5 players in the summer, probably 6-7 if we get European games. But how many players are we going to lose in the summer?

Ball, King, Zelalem will be returning to their parent clubs. We don't know for definite if any of them are returning. Templeton, Shiels, Law, Clark maybe Bell could all be leaving. that's 8 players leaving and 5 or 6 coming in? I dunno if that number includes what Warbs is planning to loan in or not though or if that number is just permanent signings we'll be bringing in.

Fair enough we have the likes of Hardie, Walsh and Murdoch coming back in, but will Warbs think they're ready for the squad or will they get loaned out again?

BorderRanger

1.) 19 Apr 2016 11:13:50
from the first team/ squad we have Ball, King, Law, Shiels, Clark, Zelalem all leaving. 6 players out, Ball and Zelalem are really the only players we might miss from them. we have Windass and Crooks coming in, so 4-5 players would take us to a total of 6-7 players that would come in. Temps won't be a miss as he has only been fit for 3 games this season. Bell can be cover for Foderingham until next year when his contract is up, or we can cash in now for him, I believe a few keepers down south are out of contract this year, so that is always an option for cover. things are actually looking very positive for next year.

2.) 19 Apr 2016 12:29:45
On the subject of Zelalem, I thought he looked classy again when he came on as substitute on Sunday and he slotted his penalty away brilliantly. An outstanding prospect and if Warburton gets the chance to take him on loan for another season then I think he should grab him.

3.) 19 Apr 2016 13:46:19
Agree Doiger. His first touch is world class and that's why he's able to seem so calm on the ball. Gives him time I know he takes some stick on this forum for not flying into 50-50 career threatening tackles, and frankly I don't blame him nor Arsenal if they are giving him that advice, but there's no denying he's a gifted player destined for the very top and I doubt very much we'll get him back next season.

4.) 19 Apr 2016 14:05:57
Keep forgetting about Crooks and Windass, fair enough. I agree I would love Ball back, he's versatile to cover 2 or 3 defensive positions. i'm not 100% about Zelalem though. Obviously the Championship is a lot different compared to top tier with the teams we will face, so I can't say how he would fare against Dundee, Killie, Hearts etc.

I also forgot about young Thompson. Hopefully the likes of Thompson, Hardie, Walsh and Murdoch will all follow the same path as young Barrie and I think MW is the man to do just that.

I'd be interested to see if he keeps any of the ones out of contract. Bell has a year left but I imagine he is on too big of a wage for sitting on the bench for another year. I think Clark and Law will be replaced by much better talent. Shiels, all credit where its due for him, he's been with us throughout the journey up and I would like him to do a year in the prem, but i'm not sure he has the talent to warrant that. Templeton was a class player and scored class goals but again, i'm not sure if he could be justified a contract after his injury this season, which I can only imagine was his leg hanging off the time out he's spent. Did anyone see what kind of shape he was in with the celebrations after the petrofac cup or the last league game when we won it? I dunno if he was in there or not but i'm sure I heard his name mentioned in commentary.

Im excited to see what happens in the summer though!

Looking at the results over the season, Celtic have played us 5 times now and Hibs 5 times. Hibs: W1 D2 L2. Rangers W0 D1 L3. As well as that Hibs have scored 8 goals against them in all comps. Conceded 6 in the league and 4 in a cup game. We've nearly conceded that many against Celtic in the last 2 weeks and only managed 2 goals all season!

Our team absolutely cannot deal with playing against Celtic and all it takes is a semi decent manager.

20 year old Rossiter (youngest in a blue shirt? ) was shouting everytime I seen him on screen yet Wallace was silent.
If Rossiter was a few year older I would give him the armband, but doubt he'll stick around with us at this rate. Alves (if he's good) should take the armband, he will get way more respect from his compatriots and the younger ones too. i'm half expecting Alves to be another dud now though after these first 2 games ( as well as the draws against TNS and ST Johnstone, who we didn't score against either thanks to a TNS own goal. )
