I think Itten has something but whether he can be relied upon to be our main striker is a different story.
Not in Morelos class and hasn't grabbed his chance coming of the bench.

I think Itten will be a good addition and will kick on next season. let's not forgot he's chipped in with some very important goals this season as well as the fact he came from the swiss league which is no where near as physical or fast paced as ours so let's not be too quick to judge. Barasic is a fantastic example.

The boy is surely worth a preseason and integrating into the team more, at least 6 months more, he is a different type of player, he could be great with the right coaching and team shape.

Itten has started very few games so you must all be basing your opinions on his 10/ 15 minute sub appearances. Itten&Roofe were bought to replace Fredo and that never happened so he hasn’t had a chance. Must say I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen from him big goals when needed and very lively also only 24 so plenty of time.

daviedouglas i'm pretty sure you would have been one of the fans who when tav/ goldson were having sh! t games and costing us goals at the back would be screaming from the roofe tops ;) wanting them sold and tav stripped as captain. this season those 2 have been our best players and have been at the club a lot longer than itten. those 2 are a prime example of what time can do for a player. goldson never played 20 games a season until he joined us now he's playing 50+ regularly and is the fastest player in our history to reach 150 games. lay off the boy and give him a chance to shine you might just be surprised.

Well said Stirling back the players and the management if it doesn't work out fair enough but let's not right the boy off just now. I've heard Gerrard say he's a dream to work with in training so let's just hope with correct coaching he will develop. We need to play to his strengths which is wingers getting to the by -line and crosses into the box. Scott Wright could be that winger.

Hasn't had enough game time in my eyes. 20 mins here and there isn't enough. Harsh to say he doesn't cut it. Also I don't think the Rangers system works for him as he looks like a guy that needs to play with a strike partner in a 2 up top.

There's definitely something there with the boy. He has a bit of skill linking up play, and there's been a couple of nice finishes in the games he's played, so I would like to think he could get another chance. A loan sounds a good idea, but If its back to his old club, it might be a loan to buy deal.
Coldo is on the button with the Barasic situation. Out of all the players we've had over the last few years, it's Barasic who stands out for how long he took to settle, to where he is now. If it was up to many, he would have been away long ago.

He reminds me very much of big Eric bo A. Will imo never be a starter in any of the big games. I think there are better options out there, that play his style of football.
I like big Cedric but I just think he isn't at that CL level, that we will be requiring moving forward.
He will do a job against your Motherwell, and Livy ect as I seriously feel that's his level.

WBG, Eric bo was a great finisher and would have been sensational imo, if Walter had stuck by him, it’s possible that the boy wanted away, I can’t remember, but a very good record with rangers and of course his goals against them were fantastic.

He’s not suited to the style of football we play but that doesn’t make him a bad player. he would need a proper run of 90min games to fully see what he has in the locker, I don’t see that happening tho. I think loan deal next year is more likely than a sale unless we get offered a good bit more than we paid.

If gerrards willing to put him out on loan that tells it's own story doesn't it. there's been plenty of opportunity for him but he's never really taken them. Agreed about 15min cameos tho but truth be told he's only getting 15 mins as clearly Gerrard sees there's much better options even when Alfie not playing.

I think the big fella has something about him as some have said. He's been no more than a bit part player so far. Nice big guy, good trainer and popular with the squad (Defoe called him a really really nice kid) . Hope he gets more of a chance to show what he can do.

For all those slating the guy and saying he's not good enough I give you Borna Barisic. Some players take time to settle and adjust not only to our league but also the way we play and the pressure that comes with playing for Rangers. He hasn't had a run of games in the team with the form of morelos and roofe. Some of his play shows he has talent. Arthur Numan was scouting him extensively for a Dutch side and speaks very highly of him.

The coming season for me will be the defining one for Itten. So far he has not been convincing but then I remember that Mark Hateley struggled in his first season. This coming season he needs to show that he can genuinely compete and while that means him being given a starting role he needs to take any chance t comes his way to show that he has what is needed to lead the attack and score goals both in the SPL and in Europe.

Do we never learn? All i see on here are people writing people off after 1 season. Everyone said BB wasn't good enough after 1 season, people were saying davis was finished last season, Goldson was slated until this season. Can we not just give players a chance to settle in and then judge them.
Itten has been in 46 match day squads: 8 starts, 25 sub apps and not used 13 times. in those 25 sub apps he has only got more than 20 minutes of game time in 5 games. based on time on the pitch and amount of goals he is getting a goal every second game (173 minutes to be exact) Morelos is only slightly better than that at 170 minutes per goal.

Aston Villa got £100m for Grealish. They spent £90m of that on three players. They are already in a relegation battle and even though they are as cash rich as the top 6 EPL clubs, it would take years for that money to work on delivering a top team that could compete every year in Europe. It would therefore be a relatively tougher 4-year challenge, riddled with potential pitfalls, than SG faced when coming to Rangers.
I believe that when we do eventually lose him it will be to a club where he can almost instantly deliver a measure of success if he is to stand a chance of managing Liverpool at some time. In fact, I think he will be with us for at least one more season to dip his toe in the Champions League, which he really needs on his CV to make the really big boys drool. And if he does it on a comparative shoestring even better for him.

What about this scenario. AV need a young, big name manager and SG is interested purely to challenge himself in the EPL BUT a pre-requisite in the contract is AV get a caretaker in till the summer and SG finishes what he has planned with us I. e take the trophies, set up CL place and team structure before leaving? Would suit his mentality in not leaving us the fans and team in the sh£te and keeps his integrity in place?
