Can't disagree with much of that cathkin. I totally agree we should sign the best talent in our league.

The problem with this argument is why can Celtic win title after title when they simply don't do this.
I am not saying we should not buy players from our league. If they are within our budget and represent value for money we should absolutely sign them.
But it's a giant leap to say this will be the core for success going forward.

Thanks Boy Blue 4. I really do find it bemusing that people say that for example spending £4m on Lennon Miller is a risk but then are happy to go and spend millions in foreign markets which I think is a bigger risk because we don't know if they will settle or if they can play in our league. I don't want to single anyone out but remember Cifu hated the weather. I think if we had done our scouting properly then we would have identified that Cifu would find it difficult to settle.

Does the best talent want to come to us is the question. and surely if they play well against us there are coaches and managers as well as the recruitment department who would see they were a target.
re your question Miovski has scored just 2 goals in 15 games this season so the answer would be Dessers there surely as he also scored more goals over the 2 seasons in comparison to Miovski. personally I prefer Dio as well 2 more goals and same number of assists; 14% better pass accuracy; worse defensive stats but he is a more progressive role in the team. just a matter of opinion really.
we had Ferguson when he was a lad and he says it was rejection from us which caused him to try to reach the top. would he have come back after that rejection, who knows.

Angus lewis Ferguson would have signed for us in a heartbeat that comes from his father.
Miller won't sign for us that's what I have been told but been a while since I spoke to them as we all know things change.

As tommygun says cathkin as long as they are the right fit for our club, then definitely. Totally understand your point of settling in, you can't guarantee it, but it do believe you have a better choice if bought from within.

The big question is, are there any other clubs interested? I think Cifu and his agent will play hard ball with us because Cifu will want to stay in Greece and we don't want an unhappy player at the club earning a wage. To be honest I think we over paid in the first place for Cifu. I would sell cheap and cut our loses and start the process of improving how we scout so that we can avoid these mistakes in the future.
