After the game against Stirling, Kevin Thomson said that we needed a centre-midfield player.
An option for that area could be Youri Regeer from Ajax. He is 18, has went through Ajax's academy, and is starting to play in the first team for Ajax. He has been one of Jong Ajax's best players in recent times. His contract with Ajax will end this summer.
Given that Dave Vos was assistant manager at Jong Ajax, he will know Regeer very well. Surely, we could snag Regeer from Ajax either now or as a free contract in the summer and he would hopefully be one of many Dutch players to come to Ibrox now that Bronckhorst is our manager.
He fits all the criteria for what Rangers are looking for:
* Young
* Dutch
* Skilled
* Central midfielder
* Will either be cheap or be free to sign
* Is already familiar with Dave Vos

WATP just because Dave Vos know him won't mean too much. Look at the posts on hear saying Gerrard would be after some of our players. So far nothing.

David mate, you’ve picked a name that nobody has ever heard of, how could anybody honestly give an opinion? Are you suggesting this guy for the b-team? Why does he need to be Dutch, or why is that highlighted as a tick box? We are so centre mid heavy that I’m not sure we need another squad player in that position, we also have a number of young players already in the b-team in that position.

I’m sure being Dutch and trusting your words then our coaches will be well aware of him David. I get what you are saying my son. Prso has a point with CM position however being young we need the next crop to come through and I’m certain Gio will give the youth their chance even just to get them in the window and earn money from the youth set up.

I'll tell you who would be a good striker for us.
Danilo Pereira da Silva is a Brazilian striker who plays for Ajax and will have his contract with them ended in the summer. He will be 23 in the summer. He plays in the Eredivisie. He scored 17 goals in 34 appearances for Twente last season and has scored 4 goals in 10 appearances for Ajax this season.
He wasn't rumoured for a move here, but the Daily Record said he could be a possible striker for us when Gio came.
Given that he plays in the Netherlands, I think he would be familiar with Gio's style of play. It seems like a no brainer for us to sign him if he doesn't renew his contract or sign for another club in the summer.
