Maybe he does only have a year left on his contract, but maybe that's what we're buying to help prevent the scum's '10' ambitions. He is tall, strong, energetic, can tackle, can find a long pass, most of the things most of you say we are lacking in the midfield. The price is what it is, like in any other market place. I'm sure the C.V. situation will see us getting him for less than the mhedia-quoted price.

Missed the game today, saw the highlights what is going on with the midfield! Jack and Kamara should not be playing in the same team, it's like watching a feckin Scottish dance off Side-side-back. This is driving me nuts. Get a driving mid in quick smart, there must be some gems in the Scandinavian or Baltic leagues at budget prices. What we have now being workmanlike doesn't win leagues. Totally peed off.

What is clear at this level, assuming that this is the level we are wanting to be at now, that "workman-like" and "put in a shift" just ain't good enough. The midfield needs to be looked at and someone with tactical pedigree and good ball control is required. Hopefully this is being chased such as Zunga etc. Tav well that's another story altogether. But will the captain be dropped?

Put the captaincy debate aside, captains aren’t what they were a decade or so ago, player mentality etc has changed vastly. More players need a cuddle and ego massaged nowadays than a finger pointing or hair drier treatment. I like Tav going fwd and his assists have been consistently impressive, however, when it comes to European teams he is clearly out his depth. How many times do we see him 10, 15 or 20 yards ahead of the defensive line and him making attempts to get back unsuccessfully. He was targeted again tonite with the spaces he leaves behind him. He’s out of his depth in euro games but then again he wasn’t the only one found chasing tonite.

I would get behind/ back fully any player gerrard signed whether it would be my own personal preference or not. So if we signed either/ or ivan toney or lawrence shankland i'd back both fully. If i had to pick my preference then undoubtedly in my eyes i'd pick ivan toney, as he's done it in a tougher league and from what i've already seen of him, he's a very good striker 👌 Shankland is also a good striker.

Ollie Watkins is a top talent that will go far in the right team of which I have my doubts with Villa. Great season at Brentford in a difficult league that is more than a match for SPL. Surprised only 28M in the inflated market that is Premiership. Better than Fredo? Yes in my opinion.
