Did seem to be a bit of a hyped press conference when a club statement would probably have done.
But, the way folks go on about our board, who have secured our funding for another season is unbelievable.
It wasn't the board who stated we'd secured £50m.
You'll never please everyone, but I'd like to think SG is happy with his budget. So, we'll need to wait and see just how much that turns out to be.

I don't believe this 6 million is the final transfer kitty amount. SG would not have signed unless he was guaranteed a decent amount (which 6 mill isn't! )
I think there is still more to come and why should King show his financial hand straight away? We've no even finished this season yet!

David Murray is what I'm hearing re investment. He's just sold land in Edinburgh for over £1bn and will be pumping money in. That's Monday's announcement. Souness apparently going onto board as well.
2 different sources.
One from inside Ibrox and ones a heavily connected ex player/ manager. Both stories the same.

Point 1 it is a FAMILY business and Point 2 who is going to purchase land near an airport for £550M? He does not have the £1Bn as reported above. The figures quoted are speculation.

Bluetoon. The land next to the airport is all part of a much larger project with the land surrounding it. He also has the urban garden land which goes from baberton all the way out to Glasgow road where he already has housing plans approved. I Will pass the airport shortly and will post a photo of the sign with his name on it.

I heard about a year ago the David Murrey wanted to try and make amends for what has happened and put a lot of money into Rangers but when nothing happened I thought it was just crap.

Anne Boag is the co founder of Stagecoach - her and her brother are minted and do loads for charity. Was a bit of a scandle as Stagecoach tried to avoid paying tax - not illegal but frowned upon.
They certainly have the money and are philanthropists but it would need to be a donation as we simply don't have the cash in Scottish Football.
Celtics pretax profits in 2016 were £18m - how can you "invest" 25m, run the club and get a return.
not saying its not true - just doesn't make sense financially. unless some people want to "dontate" money not to see a return on it.
All I am saying, remember what got you guys here in the first place.

Does my head in that supposedly people from inside ibrox and ex players and managers keep spouting out what his happening. I enjoy the rumours page and the banter of it. But when proper info is being told by people in a position of trust then for me that’s out of order. I like the chat of what players etc we might go for and get. But when someone from inside the club is leaking information to the public about private matters, then that person can go imo

The DM land deal seems to have 675 acres so based upon a reasonable price per acre of £50k is roughly £34m if he sold the land. Even if the land was worth 3 times what I suggest this is still less than £100m. The £1bn probably represents the overal investment to develop the site of which DM would only return the profit once developed and sold so say 10% on £1bn is would be £100m and not realised until Years from now.
This suggests that he could liquidate the assets if he planned to invest but it is no where near £1bn
While I think there is definitely something happening it is no where near the figures being touted

Gerrard supposedly being unveiled on Friday at lunchtime all being well (but that's not why I'm posting) .
I was in a meeting today with a guy who has drummed up investors for Rangers before and still works in the club. The meeting was not football related - he runs an unrelated business hens the meeting.
He hasn't been at Ibrox this week due to a family bereavement or I would have had the whole story or at least a few cracking pointers. BUT. He says the fact that Murray has stepped down suggests that there's something happening behind the scenes that he doesn't agree with and not the 'reshuffle' suggested. He says he hopes it's not Ashley (Debt) but there's definitely something afoot big time.
Just a tidbit but it's all I've got.

I love wee rino gattuso but hand on heart, if it became a straight choice between him and stevie clarke, to become the next rangers manager it would be clarke all day long for me!
Clarke at this moment in time is the better manager! He has much more experience of the british game than rino, he has also worked for big big clubs over the years in the english premier league and the very highly regarded english championship! Clarke is a very astute tactician and terrific man manager, who is good with young players! Clarke for me ticks every box over gattuso, at this moment in time! Got to be honest about it bears!

Game of thrones, i agree with you regarding steve clarke mate! There's no doubt in my head, that clarke would be a good appointment, as the next rangers manager! He's a very good coach, good man manager, tactically astute, has a lot of experience within british football, great contacts in the game, has an eye for a player and into the bargain, is very good with young players! The list is endless, so what wouldn't be good about stevie clarke, become our manager? I'll tell you what would put him off mate! Some of our OWN supporters, who continually live in the dark ages, with statements like "he's a boyhood celtic fan, he's a catholic etc! Clarke i've been told wouldn't want all that hassle, especially from his own club's supporters, if he was to take the rangers job! These fans forget that he's a talented manager who could take us to where we all want to be! I know its a minority of these parochial supporters we have, who spout this crap! We have catholics playing for us now, who we all support! These days are gone guys! If stevie clarke is the best manager for us then the board should be going for him, irrespective of anything else associated with the man! As long as that guy came and done well for glasgow rangers, which i've no doubt he would, then that's all i'm caring about and should be what ALL of us should be caring about! Some of our supporters are actually putting talented people off, wanting to work for our great football club! Just cast your minds back to our supporters shouting and holding banners up with "YANKS NO THANKS"! This is NOT the way fellow bears! let's be a friendly club again and stop having people hating us all the time, that undoubtedly could help our great club!

One swallow is a bit unfair. Well respected assistant at various clubs, and took WBA to an 8th place finish which is punching well above their weight. He's tactically astute, has a steely determination, and gets results. He's the closest we'll get to Walter, and far less of a risk than Gio or FDB imo.

We need a man who will put down £50m and say another £20m to redevelop the stadium and not want it back. The cash from Parks etc is based on loans that they want back. Share issue I'm fine with but I just hope it's not a massive debt job. Rename the stadium the bank of China Ibrox for eternity is a price worth paying for number 1 spot again and a proper set up. Remember where we've come back from.

There's a rights issue happening.
I'm sure this is when some of these loans will be converted to shares taking the uncertainty away from some fans around payback.
This also allows fresh investment where funds go to club as opposed to just between shareholders.
