Well there we go, well done to the morons and the ‘defiant, we won’t be stopped! ’ Idiots. If it wasn’t clear before it must be by now. The club don’t want you anymore, please either stop or go and support someone else and stop ruining the football for the supports who just want to follow the club and support Rangers for the football and nothing else!

Well it looks like the morons who can’t shut there mouths and feel it’s their ‘god given right! ’ to sing and say whatever they like no matter how often they are asked by the club they claim to love not to have finally gone and done it! UEFA possibly going to shut a stand for next weeks return leg. Now I know this is just paper talk just now and might not happen but even if it doesn’t this time we must be getting seriously close to it happening. When are these thick as **** knuckle dragging Neanderthals finally going to learn? I don’t care if ‘other clubs fans do it’. Or ‘they’re as bad as or worse than us’. Can we not just accept that in today’s society it’s just not on anymore and that by continuing to act this way you are only hurting the club and decent fans!
I’m totally raging and disgusted at the way some of our ‘fans’ continue to act. Enough enough. If this does happen and I’m anyway impacts on our performance I will be even more livid!

I’ve been saying it for years! The police need to stop being 💩 bags! Start making examples of people! £500 on the spot fines, the club need to have red herrings in The stands, start taking note of seat numbers and send fines through the post with CCTV evidence!

We need to start pointing these folk out and making examples!

2.) 23 Aug 2019 13:33:25
The club have to do more too. On the Ranger insta yesterday was a photo of a lassie holding a scarf that said “heart and hand”. This is a reference to Derry’s Walls, which is a sectarian song.

3.) 23 Aug 2019 13:36:31
Give loudspeaker boy a song list - if he deviates from it then boot him out. Some of the stuff they sing belongs centuries ago. He needs to grow up or get to.

4.) 23 Aug 2019 13:44:14
It was only a matter of time before this sort of sanction happened to our great club because of these f*****g sawdust brained idiots, who don't care for our club. You's know who you are. You're not needed or welcome at our club! Stay to f**k away you knuckledraggers. You are only bringing major disruption/ harm to our great club! 😞😠.

5.) 23 Aug 2019 13:46:07
Totally agree Ger 78 and it's not just paper talk now-3000 less fans at Ibrox next Thursday when we need the home support the most. For those who brought this on themselves with their mindless singing it's been a long time coming but feel sorry for the decent supporters who will lose out too. Will the idiots ever learn? Doubtful as they've been singing those songs for decades but perhaps the club will do more to try and root them out given it will cost us several hundred thousand in lost revenue. By the way Ed's comments are totally valid as well. I know many Rangers fans who refer to themselves as"Huns" I have myself) but would be raging if fans of any other club refer to as such.

6.) 23 Aug 2019 14:06:01
But the sad thing is, this punishment by Uefa will still not be taken seriously but a section of our so called fans and they will continue to sing whatever they like. Uefa have shown their hand now, what's next, games behind closed doors cause morons can't behave themselves?

7.) 23 Aug 2019 18:53:08
So now we wait to hear which Section gets closed off. My three tickets were moved to BF1 for the Legia game to accommodate their fans. If the offensive singing is deemed to come from there in particular then what would be the point of shutting (say) the Club Deck! Either way innocent fans will suffer.

For everyone questioning the likely signing of King on loan and ‘Why another midfielder? ’ Or ‘We need another striker’. Let’s consider it further. We play a 433 formation and will likely always do so under Gerrard apart from on occasions where during a game he may choose to alter formation. (This also means those folk fixated on suggesting we are going to be changing to a back 3 can forgot it, we won’t be, apart from as mentioned the odd occasion we wish to tighten up at the back during a game) . So currently we have at least 8 players for those front 3 positions (not taking into account ones going on loan or currently not being considered) They are: Jones, Barker, Morelos, Defoe, Ojo, Arfield (Gerrard has stated he is now seen as a forward) Stewart and Rudden as back up. If they don’t go on loan you also have Hastie and Murphy. Now in midfield we have 5 players for 3 positions: Davis, Jack, Aribo, Kamara, Docherty. And as Gerrard has said he wants at least two quality players for every position. So based on all of that why not take King?

***sorry, hit sent before I meant to***
As I was saying, terrible stats. Basically we currently have wingers playing where we actually need inside forwards, players who can contribute and create far more goals. Add to that the fact we play with 3 fairly defensive/ sitting midfielders who also don’t contribute many goals and there is our problem.
Therefore we either need to decide to play a 451 with the two wingers working hard to cover the fullbacks (as they do) but with 1 sitting midfielder and bring in 2 creative/ attacking midfielders to support the striker OR play 433 but with two actual supporting forwards rather than wingers, who are both able to get closer to the main striker and both create and score more themselves. Problem is these type of players don’t come cheap!
I’m not saying Kent may not develop into this type of player but currently although he is great to watch, his decision making and final ball are both poor. And although I do like him for his effort and work rate, Candieas just doesn’t offer enough in that position.

Ger78

1.) 20 Mar 2019 19:25:02
you are spot on with regards to the team we should play with 2 attacking mid if we play with wingers or play with 1 attacking mid and 2 defence mid and two inside forwards.

Kent is great if you want someone to dribble with ball and do step overs all the time but he lacks end product and same goes for candelias on other side lack of end product from them both.
To move forward we need to add goals to the team and creativity with end product.

2.) 20 Mar 2019 21:29:28
100% agree! Very similar to an earlier post of mine. We need the attacking midfielders to chip in with more goals and they can't do that whilst hugging the touchline or whilst in their own half. We need the attacking midfielder (left and right) to be more central at times offering support to the striker and allow the fullbacks to overlap and create the width which they generally do quite well.

We also need the midfielders to get ahead if the striker at times which they currently very rarely do.

3.) 20 Mar 2019 21:37:29
@ger78

Good post - anyone in particular you would like to see brought in or anyone good enough you think we could attract to come in to fill the positions
At this minute I have no idea who we are going to bring in during the summer but by listening to gerrard they have players in mind just hope it’s a higher calibre of players then we have currently as we should always be trying to attract a better player than we have to fill any position a current player will lose upon leaving or for competition within what ever area they come in to play for.

I’ve had a few posts that I sound not very optimistic
But I actually do like Morelos he’s a strong player and has been good especially being left up front on his own his work ethic on the park is very good - he has missed a lot of chances but scored well also - he’s young hopefully he gets better if he stays longer at the club and matures

I have no idea what positions Gerrard will be wanting to improve and what players he’s looking at BUT I’m optimistic and hoping and praying we get the players out club needs and deserves to get us a force to be reckoned with again.

4.) 20 Mar 2019 22:24:46
Hi Thestigno1, Who to bring in for those positions really is the question and we can only hope our scouting system is much better than mine! Considering what our budget will be I’m guessing it’ll either mean trying to find younger players from abroad who are untested, problem with that is you don’t know if you’re getting a Morelos or a Grezda (having said that I’m still holding out hope that he may come good next season once he’s more settled, injury free and playing regularly, he’s certainly rated highly by Albania and realistically that’s the kind of markets we’ll be shopping in) . Either that or picking up an older player maybe on loan who’s not getting a game at s bigger club somewhere.
I’m just thinking back to around the Mcleish days when he sometimes played a front 3 consisting of the likes of Arveladze, Prso, Caniga with also the likes of Lovenkrand and Novo playing the wider forward positions.
Unlikely we’ll be able to bring in quality like that though unfortunately!

5.) 20 Mar 2019 23:55:56
Arveladze there’s a name I haven’t heard in long time
Big Prso also what a player he was

Totally agree could be going players untested but older players not getting a game for there club
But look where that has got us so far especially with Defoe
We actually have a great bunch of youngsters at the club already would be good to see them starting to get bedded into the team they could actually make the difference young hungry full of grit and determination

Looking forward to see Polster get his 1st full game and Jones coming in the summer
With hopefully Murphy back to fitness also Kamara looks a bargain
There is definitely some good young talent within the squad I just hope gerrard gives them there chance to impress in the team and see if they can maintain a place in starting line up instead of the players that are playing week in week out letting us down right now
Big McKenna from Aberdeen would be a great addition I think our defence has been pretty awfull lately

Suppose time will tell 👍.

6.) 21 Mar 2019 09:12:49
I think a 442 would appreciate the type of player kent is. We need a goal scoring target man striker. As I said in a previous post, we lack dig and creativity in the centre of midfield and this has to be addressed in the summer. Two cm's that can play a 442 is a must otherwise if we continue with the 433 we will continue to struggle against the better, more organised spl sides. One st play's into the hands of teams who are tight and compact. We are then forced to play wide, hoping that we get lucky from an aimless cross👍.

Everyone’s obviously disappointed with what’s happened over the last few weeks and how things are currently sitting. We were all desperately hoping to win at least a cup this year but considering everything that has happened over the last 6/ 7 years maybe sometimes we can hope for too much too soon. We yet again changed our manager and entire squad over the summer, just as we have done almost every year since starting again. When you look at it that way we’re we really ever honestly expecting to go on and win the league? Yes the cups have been disappointing, no ones arguing that, but we are still growing and developing as a team. Maybe the good start and euro run ended up building expectation too high.

Anyway here is what I feel we need to do going forward. Gerrard is clearly trying to set us up in a similar style and formation to the likes of Liverpool and Man City with the 433 formation, which if played in the right way I believe will work. However here is our current problem: if you look at liverpool’s Front 3 their goals contribution alone so far is 20, 20 and 13 (not sure on assists) Our regular front 3’s stats are as follows. Morelos 29 goals and 6 assists (35 goal contributions in 44 games. Kent 5 goals 7 assists (12 contributions in 38 games) Candieas 6 goals and 6 assists (12 contributions in 48 games) .
Therefore Kent has less the 1 goal contribution ever 3 games and Candieas 1 in every 4 games! They are terrible stats for forward players playing for rangers.

I may be wrong on this so don’t quote me, but I believe what may of happened was something along these lines. After the original agreement was ripped up (paid off) we went looking for a new supplier and retail partner. We then negotiated the offer with Hummel, this was then originally put to Sports Direct as per terms of agreement but SD then (probably purposely) dragged their heels coming back with any response. Reason being as they had to be given the opportunity to match the offer, if they dragged out whether or not to match the deal for long enough Hummel (or anyone else) would leave the table leaving us with no choice but to use SD at whatever terms they were offering. We, realising this was what was happening and not wanting to be stuck with SD any longer, took a calculated risk to go with Hummel, allowing us to make money off of strip sales and retail over the next 5 years (the remaining period of the SD deal), also allowing our fans to have strips to wear, against whatever damages we may have to pay after the (probably expected) court case.
I don’t think there will be a quick answer or resolve to any of this, the club won’t be able to say much right now for legal reasons, but I have a feeling that in the long run this won’t end up as bad as the “press” are trying to make it out to be right now. Again I stress this is mostly conjecture and me piecing things together from bits and pieces I’ve heard so may not be the case. But I do have the feeling that the what is currently happening won’t be too much of a surprise to our board and was probably anticipated and already planned for as an outcome.

Skrtel is not coming to Rangers. Rangers were never in anyway interested in Skrtel this window. His agent says he’s had contact with a number of clubs which included Rangers. This is agent talk for ‘my player needs a new club, no ones really knocking on our door so I’ve been calling around all and any clubs I think may be interested to try to get my player a club that will pay him (and me) a lot of money’.
Some people on here say we shouldn’t have a go at folk for posting rumours. I for one won’t have a go at anyone who posts something that they have genuinely heard that however unlikely could be true. Things like this though just annoy me as they are blatant crap.

Ok, here goes, let’s see if people want to listen. Steven Gerrard stated at the end of the season that in terms of Kent returning we’d have to play the waiting game as Liverpool wanted to have a look at him in pre-season before deciding what to do with him. (The only way that was going to change was if someone came in with a massive offer to buy him) .
Now despite what is written in the papers every day (unsurprisingly to try to sell papers), or despite everyone and their granny claiming they’d ‘heard a rumour’, Nothing has changed! We will go with what we have just now in terms of wingers, I reckon Gerrard is very happy with that, and if near the end of the window Liverpool decide to let him leave on loan we will have first refusal and will decide then whether to take him. This has been the case since May and still is.

This is true he can only pick from the players already registered. However the young players he as Mcpake and a few others were included as the under age players who don’t have to be officially registered as part of the main 25 (or 22 as it was in our case) I’m not saying the original poster is right with what he is saying he heard, just that it is possible to play some of the younger players.

Why? We have Flanagan and Polster as back up right backs. Why pay wages for another. Remember he was up against 40 and 50 year olds in a kick about yesterday.

Hi Swanseablue, Celtic do play similarly however they are more of a 451 or a 4231 even with usually two sitting midfielders, an attacking midfielder and two wide players. We play a 433 with often a solid 3 in the middle and two supporting inside forwards either side of a main attacker, both who can interchange and drop deeper when needed. They don’t always tend to play that wide. They play closer to the front man therefore creating space for the fullbacks to go outside them. It’s the exact set up as Liverpool which is no surprise at all seeing as Gerrard coached their academy team who use the same tactics as the first team.

Sorry Laudrup, it ain’t even my opinion, it’s our managers Mr Gerrard’s opinion as he picks the team and tactics, I’m just explaining the way we set up. Plus every other manager before him also thinks this way about Tav. As for moving him into midfield? We play a 433 and if you’re taking about replacing Ojo then that means playing Tav as an inside forward, not a midfielder. Which is a completely different role altogether and would take a long time to learn and adjust to. It’s not as simple as just saying ‘let’s move that player into a new position’.

Doesn’t matter if they accept my analysis or not, I’m not the Rangers manager, I’m just stating that that’s the way we play, it’s the way Gerrard wants us to play. The modern day fullback in most teams is now much more of an attacking player and it’s the tactics that a lot of teams adopt (Barcelona really started, look at them, they actually regularly play wingers in the fullback positions) Gerrard wants are fullbacks to provide an attacking threat/ option and plays with a solid 3 in the middle who are all capable of dropping back and covering if need be. It’s the way he wants it and I for one think it’s working really well. If you change it and move Tav into midfield (which actually in our line up you couldn’t do, you do actually have to play him in the right forward position which wouldn’t work at all) and play Flanagan at right back we’d lose a lot of our attacking flair.

Nope, the reason he looks so good going forward is that he is pushing up from a defensive position and often his direct opponent (ie a winger) isn’t tracking him well enough. At the same time the opposite fullbacks is concerned with the movement of our right sided forward and this in turn creates space for Tav for is very good at exploiting this when breaking forward from fullback. Move him into midfield and all of this would be lost. Plus we play a 3 man midfield, we don’t play with a right sided midfielder so where exactly are you playing him? Plus our defence isn’t exactly doing badly so far this season. Plus if you understood our tactics you would know that Gerrard is purposely looking for both fullbacks to push high. He knows this will leave space behind them so is why we play with two sitting type midfielders who drop and cover when the fullbacks push on (it’s exactly the same way Liverpool play) . All of these points makes Tav the ideal player to be our right fullback. Certainly not a midfielder.
