Curtis Tilt, Blackpool. Lot of online buzz he could be next in line if Cooper bid is rejected.

Golden Bear

1.) 15 Jul 2018 13:54:05
Surely not THE Curtis Tilt, that world-renowned centre back from Blackpool!

2.) 15 Jul 2018 16:50:04
Hugh that’s class hahahahahhahahaha

3.) 15 Jul 2018 20:45:05
Someone young with potential could develop into a nice wee player with a nice little sell on fee

4.) 15 Jul 2018 22:27:29
Sell on fee? That concept seems totally alien to our board.

5.) 15 Jul 2018 22:27:54
Was reported a few days ago that Queens Park Rangers were interested in him. Maybe it's been picked up wrong?

6.) 15 Jul 2018 22:36:36
Maybe just me, but I think we need first team players just now, not 'development' prospects

7.) 15 Jul 2018 22:47:25
Is mark allen, frank mcparland in disguise

8.) 16 Jul 2018 00:11:53
Gotta admit, this rumour has be on Tilt a bit.

9.) 16 Jul 2018 00:49:57
Guys just about to turn 27, wouldn’t call that young in football

10.) 16 Jul 2018 01:17:30
He’s 26 hardly a development prospect

11.) 16 Jul 2018 23:28:15
Iv been down watching a lot of Blackpool’s games over the past few years- he’s solid at the back, about £1m is a good deal- would be great cover for Goldson and Katic if that’s the favoured pairing

The Sun reporting Lafferty has pulled out of a friendly due to a "family issue". I wonder if that's related to the Morelos rumours? Perhaps he's the go to replacement if Morelos leaves before the Europa qualifier? Pure speculation on my part but you never know.

Golden Bear

1.) 03 Jul 2018 20:33:37
This will no doubt be ridiculed by most but Lafferty is a far superior striker to Morelos. We should definitely go for him.

2.) 03 Jul 2018 20:46:12
See we beat tns 3-1 today in a behind closed doors game
Serge, Murphy, mccrorie all scoring perfect start

3.) 03 Jul 2018 22:03:26
Lafferty is shocking always has been was totally useless the first time at us and has done nothing for any club since he left a few decent games for an average hearts team and we should sign him again? Sorry but i really disagree with going for him there is loads better than him out there.

4.) 03 Jul 2018 22:27:54
Deanobear, an average Hearts team he scored regular, including two against them, get him for a free and will be a great
sqaud addition .

5.) 04 Jul 2018 02:00:51
Ffffffhhhhaaaahhhaa lafferty better than morelos

6.) 04 Jul 2018 02:03:48
Lafferty scored many important goals for us, to say he was useless is way off the mark. He is doing well at hearts and he was banging them in for NI, I think he would do a job for us.

7.) 04 Jul 2018 07:39:13
Listening to some guys saying Lafferty is better than Morelos and probably agree he is? Although I probably would like to see the 2 of them together up top🇬🇧

8.) 04 Jul 2018 07:58:14
Could be a genuine family issue to be fair as his missus is quite heavily pregnant. However, I'd quite like to see him back, not as no1 striker but as a back up. Far better than anyone we had as back up last year ie Cummings, herrera.

9.) 04 Jul 2018 08:22:37
Deanobear it's far too early to be on the Buckie.

If u r a real rangers fan think back to the three titles in four we won when he was there! Admittedly he was a slow starter. the love of the team and family pressures meant that badge wore heavy on him, but he came round and scored some VITAL goals for us. At one point he was winning games single handedly for us so before u criticise think back bud.

10.) 04 Jul 2018 09:00:05
Hearts would demand an inflated fee for him so no thanks. i'm a big fan of lafferty but would rather see us think out the box than continue to go back to ex players constantly.
I think morelos will be staying. If he goes then we NEED to use the money we get to strengthen with a proven goalscorer similarly to how we picked up morelos.

11.) 04 Jul 2018 10:25:02
I agree DLOYAL but given that it's SG's first season and the worst thing possible is getting close, I think the thinking is going to lean more towards tried and tested as opposed to gambles like Morelos. I like him and think he will be a quality striker in a year or two but coming from the Finnish league was a bit of a punt. Laff scored some decent goals last season and pitched in with his usual crazy workrate which I think a lot of folk take for granted. . plus u see the way he talks to Harry Cochrane and the other youngsters on the park, I think he could be good for Zak ridden, Middleton and maybe even young Alfredo.

12.) 04 Jul 2018 11:57:25
Deanobear don't agree re Laff but we all have our opinions
Im the same with Morelos happily see him gone but that opinion isn't widely supported on here and that's fine it's my opinion as is yours on Lafferty

Kickoff. co. uk linking us with a move for Tunisian world cup midfielder Saifeddine Khaoui who's team have just been relegated in France. May just be click bait because they're about to play England.

Golden Bear

1.) 16 Jun 2018 10:33:00
aye saw this but his contracts up this month and his stats ain't great

2.) 16 Jun 2018 10:38:22
He's just been relegated :P not the calibre we need yes Ligue 1 is a higher standard of league than our own but there bottom of the table teams ain't great either

3.) 16 Jun 2018 11:03:34
Yeah, watched a bit of him now. He looks an ok player but he seems physically weak like a more attacking version of Goss. Doesn't look like the type we'd be after so probably unfounded.

4.) 16 Jun 2018 11:34:33
He’s contracted to Marseille, he was at Troyes on loan, unsure when his contact is up though

5.) 16 Jun 2018 11:36:35
Was he not on loan from marseille

6.) 16 Jun 2018 13:11:07
Wouldn’t really bother me is someone was playing with a team just just got relegated out the top division. Look at the likes of marhez and kante.

7.) 17 Jun 2018 06:18:56
Had a look at him on Transfermarkt. On loan at a terrible team and was by far their best player. Seemed to have a decent season. On loan from Marseilles and still has 2 years on his contract. Valued at 4.5m according to this website, so not sure it would be a permanent move if we are indeed interested in him. Just another reason to be supporting Tunisia for me today anyway :) )

8.) 17 Jun 2018 10:32:39
Whosthedado

Your a day too early to be supporting Tunisia

9.) 17 Jun 2018 12:58:50
Aye your quite right Bindo. The 4 games yesterday have thrown my scheduling out the window.

Kick-off are quoting us with an interest with a 20 year old Danish midfielder by the name of Mikkel Duelund. No idea if it's true but I'd be tempted to believe it a bit more than some of the more obvious names that have been put forward recently. On another note, given that we've had a month of being told that we're after a host of 30 plus guys on high wages I think it says something of SG's approach that he's spending his first few days at an under 21 tournament scouting. I think it shows how commited he is to the task at hand that he's not just sitting behind a desk watching video's or reading scouts reports.

Golden Bear

1.) 01 Jun 2018 21:33:47
Just read a wee bit about him. Looks a bit of a player.

2.) 01 Jun 2018 22:25:11
I hope so. kids a bit special, sadly i think will go elsewhere tho

Did anyone listen to Sportsound tonight? Obviously they've been hearing us talk about how the English media see the positive side to Stevie G and how the Scottish media only want to pour cold water on him/ us regardless of how they trumpeted Lennon when he moved into coaching. Now they're trying to spin it to make themselves look like level headed pragmatists rather than the bunch of small minded pygmies that they are. The only time this Celtic team have come up against a challenge has been in Europe and look how that has turned out for them. Roll on next season with a winner rather than a whiner in charge.

26 Apr 2018 20:37:19
Feel a bit sorry for Murty with the timing again in the build up to an old firm game but here's a question. If it is Stevie G, would we want him at the end of the season or throw him straight in for the last few games?

Golden Bear

1.) 26 Apr 2018 21:28:07
As I understand it Murty is contracted to be in charge of the team until the end of the season?

Neither can start "work" until the permits are granted. That's the likely reason neither are officially with us yet. I believe Friday is the official deadline for registering players for the Europa league but every team is allowed to register one extra player up until the day before the match.

Agree. Decent player but there are better and cheaper options out there. Don't believe we'd have bid £4.5M for someone who only has a year on their contract.

Defence and a goalscorer take precedence over another midfielder but if we are on the lookout for one I'd go for Malumbu on a free before Davis with a fee much as I admire the latter for his past performances. Malumbu has shown he can cut it in the SPL whilst Davis hasn't seen a lot of action last season. Big Eck signed players based on who they used to be rather than who they are now and it cost us. Let's not make thee same mistake again. I'm fine with McGregor as a keepercoming back at his age but I worry about older outfield players.

I don't think we'll get any confirmations on the signings until Gerrard takes over officially on June 1st. Even if deals are done before then I reckon the club will hold the news back so that the new boss is the one doing the unveiling.

Based on current rumours-
McGregor
Taverner Goldson Katic Flannagan
Rossiter coulibally Arfield
Windass Murphy
Morelos

Backup looks strong with Fod's, Docherty, Jack, McCrorie, Candelas, John, Alves, Sadiq, Ejaria to choose from.

Main issue based on these names looks like a lack of creativity but overall a big improvement on last year.

I could easily see Docherty being able to cover Tav at RB. He has the motor to get up and down the right all day. More concerned with the left as Wallace, if he stays, is defensivly weak. John is great going forward but is a bit on the small side for a defender.

Yup, fielding a team of 12 players should give us the edge in most games:)

Don't think King would put himself into a press firing line to answer awkward questions so hopefully it's good news. Anyone know what time the press conference is at?

Can't believe how Rodgers has gotten away with his "thrown in the garbage"comment. It's outrageous for the manager of one club to comment on another club like that. Hopefully his arrogance will be his undoing.
