How about this for an idea. If Morelos goes for say £20M. We go for Auguero and blow the transfer fee on his wages. £100.000 a week (£10M over two years) . Just think of the commercial side. Shirt sales and the likes. Plus he might score a couple of goals now and again and again.

Seen some discussion on the SPFL awarding 3-0 wins for the St Mirren, Motherwell, Hamilton matches. But not heard if the 2 Celtic matches against St Mirren and Aberdeen which were postponed and still not rearranged are to be awarded or played? SPFL need to ensure same rules are applied across board. The fact it was the Scottish government that told to SPFL to postpone may have an influence and who has S awarded the 3-0 win when Celtic and Aberdeen were both guilty of CV rule breaking.

With pre-season and only one league game under our belt before the Beyer Leverkusen game but with their season over since last week, who will be fresher for the Europa League match? You often see it in play offs or after mid season breaks that the "stronger" team can be ring rusty as they have had a few weeks off legs are a bit heavy and aren't quite as match sharp. If we had a couple of games more I would say we would have a right good chance as you have to admit they are a stronger team when match fit, but I think it is a wee bit of a leveller. Makes it a bit more interesting.

guys we always have to consider ourselves as having a chance. else why even try. you think SG will be in the dressing room saying don't worry we expect to get beat so don't try and don't get injured. ofcourse not we need to try. ok odds are against us but what's the point in even playing if you don't have some belief we can work a mirable. i always remember the BoB against Leeds, never thought we had a chance and look what happened.

With both halves of the Old Firm doing well in Europe who would be keen to see an Old Firm Europa League final?
That would mean up to 7 matches against them. If we had to lose 3 and win 3 which ones would you want to win?

An Old Firm Europa League final may not be out of the question, but still in the competition are teams like:
Sevilla
Sporting Lisbon
Arsenal
Espanyol
Man Utd
Wolves
Roma
PSV
Not impossible though. I put £5 on Gers to win the Europa League at the start at 80/1, so it would be sweet to win that and beat the unwashed in the final too! William Hill has Arsenal 5/1 favourites, Gers are 66/1 and Celtic 40/1.

What I’ve noticed in the last few weeks is the first touch has been really poor. It takes two or three touches to get ball under control and the quick break is over. Not sure if it was the pitch but it really does slow down our game which was what our game was about in the early games when we were winning with more style.

Antwerp are a bit like Arsenal this season. Playing really well in Europe and not so well in their own league. They are sitting one place above Liege on goal difference in 7th. Let’s not get carried away, some teams style just suits European football better. All of the teams are beatable but there could have been a couple of ties that would have been easier.

Nations league is every two years. Played when there is no qualifying matches for the euros or the World Cup. First event the group winners get a second attempt to play off for a place at the euros. Next event (current matches) gives the group winners a second chance to qualify for the World Cup. Next one in 2022/ 2023 will go back to the Euros and so on. The four tier A group winners play off the Nations Cup. Played in and won by Portugal.

Just a wee bit of naivety from both players and manager but over all it is another great result. With 5 or 10 minutes to go we should have taken Morelos off just to break up flow waste a few minutes and shore up midfield. Would have taken a draw before the game started. Still hurting but will be a happy bear in the morning when we have a night to reflect.
