Was told today that Mccrorie has told some of the Killie players that the atmosphere within the club is "toxic" said players have down tools after being told they could leave. kind of makes sense when you saw Lawrence score 2 yesterday and hardly cracked a smile. also told that Goldson went mental after being singled out by Clemont after Ross County last season. this lead to major arguments about bonuses etc. just passing on info.

???cheers fr sharing.

Lawrence interviewed after the game came across like a guy who was buzzing to me. He might be growler on the pitch actually always has been a bit of one lol.

From what I’ve been told, all senior players not only Goldson (who are now free to leave) were all told they were free to find other clubs at the same point at the end of last season

Important to outline that what we hear from individual players is based on them being told they were no longer required (of coarse they wouldn’t be happy)

The board backed thee highest yearly wage bill and bonus structure in Scotland and got very little back in return from that squad

I was told some of the bonus’s paid, and they are ridiculous (Gerard started this)

The decisions were made at some point through last season after Clement AND his team had analysed that squad that a major squad rebuild was required, that was then put to the board and accepted, everyone is aware this will be done over 2/ 3 transfer windows

From what I was told, Clement could not believe the bonus’s and the salaries most or all of those players were being paid, based on his previous experience in Belgium and France

The board as I made mention to previously were all disappointed in the return from that squad for all their investment, and wanted a change

I think it’s important to outline to move forward and implement change, u need to make tough decisions, no player likes to be told they are no longer required by an employer, been there myself

But ultimately it is Clement and his teams decisions that are now being backed by the board, which are a smaller squad (we had 35 senior players on the books)

New squad size will be (25) with a focus on international class players propped up by talented younger players

A 20% reduction in the wage bill (this done to set up a new salary structure to stop players bitching over pay rises, which was happening) a younger squad average age with potential to increase value in (both Nils and Clement are incentives via KPIs on this)

A rebuild the size in which we are seeing, will take time to get right, it won’t happen overnight

There is money to be spent, but first there needs to be a further reduction in player squad numbers, we still have too many players

The club do not budget for champs league, this rebuild will take time, but trust in what’s being done, change had to happen, it just has t been good enough over the last few years.

I'm just off a flight from Germany, was sat behind big Leon Balogun. He was trying to keep quiet but he agreed when I told him we need more folk with his attitude.

5.) 29 Jul 2024 00:23:07
Very good post, Sydney ?.

6.) 29 Jul 2024 00:32:01
If all first team players were told they could leave, why would Cantwell hand in a transfer request.

Why would Clement publicly state he'd asked to leave and say he tried to persuade him otherwise?

7.) 29 Jul 2024 00:41:18
He obviously wanted Cantwell to stay then ?. He never asked them to leave either, what he said was Butland would not be sold, publicly stated he asked them to leave, that just stinks.

8.) 29 Jul 2024 01:09:30
Great post Sydney the club needs a new direction can only hope the board back the staff. The fans will turn quickly if poor results follow but its up to the board to believe that Koppen and Clement are the right men for the job.

9.) 29 Jul 2024 01:15:15
Harhun I thought that was weird myself and mentioned it here.

10.) 29 Jul 2024 01:40:40
Rfc, hun.

11.) 29 Jul 2024 02:19:43
Great post

Kinda new things were bad when we resigned goldson on more wages than he was already on when nobody he liked came in for him lol should have offered him less or said bye bye not given him. Another deal on more money

Madness!

12.) 29 Jul 2024 06:59:21
Sydneys post is the best I've read so far over the last few weeks, and makes the most sense regarding the change that's needed moving forward. Young players emboldened by good experienced players is the model used by ajax, psv, benfica etc.
More Scots, please!

13.) 29 Jul 2024 07:49:24
So Lawrence, who’s downed tools because he’s been told he’s available, burst a gut to get into the position to score 2 goals?
I’m calling BS.

14.) 29 Jul 2024 08:17:32
The wage bill needs to come right down as European football money is getting harder to get and we have a rocket signing off on ridiculous tv deals. UEFA don't want us and them in the Champions League. Won't be long and it will be Europa and Conference only. A wage cap is needed with bands / bonuses depending on performance.

15.) 29 Jul 2024 08:25:43
No player should have been told they were free to leave the club until the season had finished.

16.) 29 Jul 2024 08:38:08
Great post Sydney, I'm happy to give them time, IMO the same bunch cost Gio his job when they downed tools and stopped playing for the jersey, he also probably told a few they had to up their game.

17.) 29 Jul 2024 10:51:28
Personally don’t think Lawrence is one of the ones who’s been told to find a new club as clement constantly plays him. You are all lying to yourself if yoi think there isn’t a toxic atmosphere at the club and there isn’t players who look like they have downed tools.

18.) 29 jul 2024 12:29:14
as i think your correct and it’s the main reason i wanted shot of most of them back when they let gio down badly, i said at the time these guys will win nothing over a season because they don’t have the mentality or application required, tav, goodson outstayed by two years imo.

19.) 29 Jul 2024 12:33:48
Fantastic post by Sydney.

Honestly don't think people understand just how ridiculous our wage budget is, and the fact those players aren't delivering silverware while on some of the highest wages in the country is even worse.

13 of our players earned over 20k a week last season, while on 3 of Celtic's did.

About time we fixed this problem.

20.) 29 Jul 2024 12:52:26
Why would we tell all the players they are available to leave, we couldn`t possibly let them all go and build a complete new squad, so the ones that don`t get moved on would be cheesed off as they would feel unwanted . That would be terrible for morale and no manager in his right mind would do that.

21.) 29 Jul 2024 14:54:12
Great post but doesn't work for Mccrorie who we wanted to stay he wanted to leave as soon as butland was signed.

Wish the boy nothing but well and hope he returns at some point.

22.) 29 Jul 2024 14:55:46
Maybe thier plans were leaked and had to speak to players only thing that makes sense when we were still in title race and the drop off was there for all to see.

The chat at the Kris Boyd charity lunch today is that Lampard will be the new manager.

Harhun

1.) 06 Oct 2023 18:22:41
Gulp?‍♂️.

2.) 06 Oct 2023 18:42:00
If true that's a kazy appointment.

3.) 06 Oct 2023 18:50:02
Lets get behind him could be great.

4.) 06 Oct 2023 18:53:01
Lampard now 5/ 6 favourite for job oh dear.

5.) 06 Oct 2023 19:01:16
A group WhatsApp message from Jonny McFarlane states that the board is well aware of the strength of feeling amongst fans in relation to FL. This being the case, it would either be a very brave appointment or a very foolish one.

6.) 06 Oct 2023 19:04:42
Lampard was not who I wanted at first but on thinking he wants to play attacking football he is a natural leader and I know he struggled at Chelsea but so did Potter this is just a thought he might be the perfect manager especially if he has an experienced assistant manager and a quality DOF.

7.) 06 Oct 2023 19:45:31
Paul it’s not going to be Lampard and I wouldn’t get behind him don’t it with Beale to my better judgment so never again.

8.) 06 Oct 2023 19:50:58
Harun

Was there, just scuttlebutt.

9.) 06 Oct 2023 20:18:24

I take it Fenerbache are taking the piss with the £2.8m bid? Never going to accept that surely would want at least £6-7 m?

Harhun

1.) 04 Jul 2018 13:22:42
I would take 2.8 as I don’t rate Morelos at all and we are almost trebling our money

2.) 04 Jul 2018 13:27:02
Typical scottish media banter. Morales is worth 3 million windass is worth 3 million. Tierny, dembele, rogic, simunic, boyata are worth 1 billion dollars.

3.) 04 Jul 2018 13:3:18
Hart Hun, I would not. Sell Morelos for less than six million

4.) 04 Jul 2018 13:45:26
Would not even entertain there 2.6 million offer upwards of 5 million then they can start to talk to him but this close to season i would rather keep the lad.
if he knuckles down and starts scoring in some big games then the lad mite just get his big move and you can be sure we will get more than 2.6 million for him

5.) 04 Jul 2018 14:24:38
4M or thereabouts and I think the lad is gone.

6.) 04 Jul 2018 17:29:45
Anyone that would accept that bid is a total clown. 2.6 or 2.8 mill wouldn't buy you 18 goals and his work rate. I am not saying never sell him but you have to at least get enough money to buy a decent striker to replace him.

02 Jan 2017 14:16:56
I think we need a reality check, and move on, aye players may have been ill advised etc etc, but there is no doubt both big Lafferty and Naisy would improve our team. The bottom line is that's what I am looking for an improvement.

I would take the Boydie stance on this that the new deal wouldn’t make a difference his payoff will have been agreed and will be the same … we need to sack him asap….

The last thing we need is a player who doesn’t really want to be here… pretty sure if Jordan wanted the move it would have been done weeks ago….

Weird obsession with people names on here… never mind if it’s a shortening of ones first and second names… however if you happen to make a comment that is outwith some members thinking you are classed as one of them… was trying to point out that the lad has played less then a handful of first team games plus the German lad were are being linked with is also very young… I will be delighted to be proved wrong and wish the lad all the best in his career with us… maybe I should stick some union jacks on this or a reference to Ibrox, 1872 etc to justify me being able to comment ?‍♂️.
