Told last night tav will go for knee op World Cup break, it's hoped he will return mid January.

John26

1.) 20 Oct 2022 10:06:44
He shouldn't be playing at all if he's got a knee injury itl just make it worse.

2.) 20 Oct 2022 10:24:44
Still can’t fathom out why Gio said he was fit and played him last night. He looks dead on his feet.

3.) 20 Oct 2022 10:30:08
Blind man can see he is not fully fit John. I can understand him lying deep against Liverpool, Napoli etc but when he is not bombing down the wing v Dundee and Motherwell then there is obviously something wrong mate. Cheers.

4.) 20 Oct 2022 10:51:42
Gio says he's fit and no issues. If he's going for an op then tav himself will know he can be doing himself more harm.

5.) 20 Oct 2022 11:20:29
Last night was an ideal opportunity to rest him with Devine being in the squad.

6.) 20 Oct 2022 12:14:54
Just read that Lundstrum is carrying an ankle injury which he had a scan on on Monday so why did he play last night surly resting it would have been the sensible thing to do!

7.) 20 Oct 2022 12:42:23
Agree mph if this is the case why on earth did he play last night?

8.) 20 Oct 2022 13:09:52
Correct g4rry.
Seems to be a mismanagement on player welfare just now.

9.) 20 Oct 2022 13:23:42
Why is Gio saying otherwise John? Makes no sense risking further injury playing him. Good as a man down recently.

10.) 20 Oct 2022 13:26:00
G4rry it’s common knowledge lundstrum has been having issues re Achilles since Ajax game, we seem to be running players into ground.

11.) 20 Oct 2022 14:18:10
Players have played with injuries for years. I’m sure the qualified medical staff have an input as well and Gio and the club would have the welfare of the players at the front of their priorities.

12.) 20 Oct 2022 14:45:05
I thought Lundstram didn't look himself. He looks as if he is towing a caravan at times.

13.) 20 Oct 2022 14:47:18
monty steve clifford four lads says gio is trying to protect tav as if he says he is injured teams will target tav.
not something i agree with.

14.) 20 Oct 2022 15:20:56
Totally agree, Seeker.
He hasn’t hit the same heights as last season yet when he became one of our mos5 influential players in the team.

15.) 20 Oct 2022 15:40:59
Maybe we can't rest Tav/ Lundstrom as we are already overflowing in emergency ward 10.

16.) 20 Oct 2022 16:23:20
The number of injuries that our players are picking up surely must question our training methods and the quality of our medical staff especially if this is the same people that have been doing the medicals on incoming players such as Roofe, Helander and most recently, Souttar.
We shouldn't be playing players like Lundstrom and Tavernier of they are carrying injuries since surely this can only worsen the problem. There again, maybe we don't have the quality of player in reserve to come in to the team.

17.) 20 Oct 2022 16:27:18
John teams target him anyway. Have done since he started at the club.

18.) 20 Oct 2022 16:31:12
We done it last year with freddo everyone could see he was struggling yet we never rested him and paid the price.

19.) 20 Oct 2022 16:48:00
100% John. Had it confirmed and posted on here a week or so ago that he was taking injections to play.

20.) 20 Oct 2022 16:51:37
Berkshire, agree we shouldn't be playing Tav and Lundstrum if they are carrying injurys, I disagree with you reg our medical team.

21.) 20 Oct 2022 17:20:11
Maybe the rumour of gio running the players too much in training true?

It would definitely explain our massive injury list and I keep thinking back to Morelos playing with that thigh injury last year then goldson this year now rumours of lundstrum and Tav you start to wonder if it's just bad luck or gios training.

22.) 20 Oct 2022 19:43:12
Goldson was not injured before he got took of against liverpool it happened then and there.

23.) 22 Oct 2022 10:23:04
Seems that the negativity around the current management is turning us in to a bunch of conspiracy theorists!

24.) 22 Oct 2022 15:25:43
If any of rumours are true and we are playing injured players which could do more damage to them, it does not say much for medical/ management team, no matter what we think of players club, have a due of care to protect players something way wrong at club, how is making these decisions.

25.) 23 Oct 2022 14:01:41
Fully agree, Gets58.

26.) 23 Oct 2022 21:26:01
Tav himself says no injury and he's fit.

15 Oct 2022 15:49:07
At Hamilton watching Cole McKinnon, told we have scout at Bristol watching cooper.

John26

1.) 15 Oct 2022 16:12:49
Is this Cooper from Milwall, John? Is he any good? Been linked to us for years now!

2.) 15 Oct 2022 17:22:29
Cooper would be a great signing, I'd have loved him in the summer, we were supposed to be linked with him then, big, strong defender, wins a lot of balls in the air, just the type of defender we need.

3.) 15 Oct 2022 17:37:24
jake cooper is a very good ch.

4.) 15 Oct 2022 17:56:23
How did McKinnon play.

5.) 15 Oct 2022 17:58:10
Seems a no nonsense type centre back.

6.) 15 Oct 2022 18:57:56
Very good CH, you say John? Wins a lot of balls in the air, Mark? If we are indeed interested, get him signed! How much do you think he'd cost? I know it's just a guesstimate, but what sort of ballpark figure are we looking at?

7.) 15 Oct 2022 19:01:16
Mark 6-6 does not lose much in air and can tackle.

8.) 15 Oct 2022 19:20:47
John- Is Jake Cooper one for the January transfer window? plus what is the latest on Connor Goldson as there seems to be conflicting news.

9.) 15 Oct 2022 19:22:28
Down, as John has posted he's 6-6 so wins a lot of headers, scores goals as well, around 20 for his club.

10.) 15 Oct 2022 19:30:19
Down, probably around 4 million, helander wages would cover his wages easily. Reputed to be on around 11k a week, his contract up june23. So mb a deal can be negotiated.

Transfermarket value him at 3.6 million, at 27 I feel a good age, equally comfortable in a back three or four.
Possible downside prefers the left side, but for me he’s not a Goldson replacement, but a helander replacement

I’d sign him on a bosman in January and see if we need to get him in early or summer.

11.) 15 Oct 2022 19:35:36
Bgate, played left midfield, 90 min, looked very assured, thistle fans love them. talk Newcastle have watched him 4-5 times.

Thistle guy I was with said rangers plan to recall in January, look at him and mb loan him to st mirren or m well

Weston never got a sniff again, really not rated by them.

12.) 15 Oct 2022 21:02:37
Copland how are there conflicting reports when the manager literally said he'll be out for "several months"?

13.) 15 Oct 2022 22:07:54
They are no conflicted reports with Goldson he is out for several months.

14.) 15 Oct 2022 22:43:05
Newcastle could go out and buy a world
Class centre back they ain’t after him maybe few years back but now can’t see it.

15.) 15 Oct 2022 23:17:22
English teams pick up anyone with a bit of potential. This has been happening for years. Billy Gilmore is the prime example. So it’s hardly surprising If Newcastle are looking at him. Doesn’t mean that he will be first pick centre half.

16.) 16 oct 2022 01:52:53
should have went for cooper to replace helander long ago i'd be amazed if helander ever plays for rangers again, good big defender is cooper, ideal in an old firm environment, strong, tall and brave.

17.) 16 Oct 2022 02:12:13
Wilson should have kept balogun katic ? or at least kept balogun and loaned out katic also wondering if sands will be away in January can't see us paying the millions wanted for him.

18.) 16 Oct 2022 06:58:13
bassey it’s cole mckinnon newcastle want.

19.) 16 Oct 2022 07:00:11
is that balogun who lasted 14 minutes before getting injured
sands was 18 months loan deal. so at moment here till june.

20.) 16 Oct 2022 08:11:48
As John said, Sands here to June. Is he worth 4m? Not a chance! Not from what I have seen, anyway. He's definitely not a CH. Not the type we require!
This boy Cooper, from what John, and Mark say, is. 6'6, dominant in the air, who can tackle, and is just the type we are crying out for. If this guy is out of contract next summer, get him signed in January, and test Milwall to get him in earlier. The problem I could see is, if Milwall are in the running for promotion to EPL, they'll never let him go. Too much money at stake. Far too much for us to offer anything acceptable. And If they are in the running, would he really want to leave them? If they offer him a new contract, and there is a chance of promotion, surely he'd want to stay and play there? Who knows?

21.) 16 Oct 2022 10:44:21
Lol linked with cooper again will everyone blame gio if he's crap to ? and people still think manager signing players ????

How long have we been linked with cooper again long before gio oh aye ?

No wonder we are a train wreck had enough of this director of football bull.

22.) 16 Oct 2022 11:53:54
Gofor so Gio can’t say, yes I like what I see.

I love our dof great guy does his business well,
U really do not know how a modern day football club operates in terms off recruitment

Tell me who u would sign,

We know for fact Gio picked sands Tillman matondo Colak Lawrence
Chose to keep McGregor Davis kamara Arfield
Defo approve Souttar
Unless of course Gio is a liar, and is so weak he allows players to be foisted on him.

23.) 16 Oct 2022 16:51:08
Lol John so you think it was posteglu or Celtic that identified maeda kyogo abada hatate.

24.) 16 Oct 2022 20:11:51
Gofor no as they don’t have a dof,

25.) 16 Oct 2022 21:14:28
John was sands fee not due in January if we want to keep.

26.) 16 Oct 2022 21:20:05
John behave . colak was notice by club playing against us . before gio was there

Lawrence was linked with us for a few seasons before gio

Matondo was linked with us before schalke and again before gio

And I call bull on Davis arfield the club gave them deals as a reward for going to final and McGregor deal was always on table it's just he turned on retirement last min

Kamara would have walked for nowt so obviously you would give him a deal

Behave John.

27.) 16 Oct 2022 21:20:46
And again souttar was decided well before gio club signings.

28.) 17 Oct 2022 09:34:52
Director of football is the way every big club is run, gone are the days when a Sir Alex controls every aspect of a club. It also provides consistency when say, A Gerrard leaves. They identify targets, the manager has a say but for years good players have went to huge clubs like ours and not been able to handle the pressure. Think Soutar could still come good, he had an undiagnosed foot injury which has been fixed and obvs list his brother, Lawrence great, collak great, thought Tilman was good yesterday and still young. Matondo will come good too I think. Actually the poorer performances are Kent, thought Tavs looked off it this year too.

29.) 17 Oct 2022 12:34:54
Bazbear, you've made some good points, I'm not sure about Matondo coming good, he's the one signing we made during the summer that I've serious doubts about.

30.) 17 Oct 2022 13:13:29
Certainly don’t agree gofor. But like u I’m entitled to my opinion.

31.) 19 Oct 2022 17:26:00
Consistency is fine if everything ticking along well but when you get a few of big Ayers leaving and a. lot injured at the same time and you let two of your biggest assets walk for free it then becomes a major rebuild like Celtic did and in that situation you need the manager to recruit or you will struggle.

I'd rather a football man recruit players than a business man every time, if your scouting system is good you can maybe get away with a director of football but everyone knows of scouting is lazy in the extreme.

10 Oct 2022 20:12:15
Looks like var in early, 29/ 10.

John26

1.) 10 Oct 2022 21:37:05
I can see it going so well?.

2.) 11 Oct 2022 06:13:29
I'm friends with an SPL referee and they are seeing what's happening in England and are concerned that it could go the same way up here. I think it will be a good thing. provided its used properly!

3.) 11 Oct 2022 08:22:15
Should only get used for red cards pens and offsides that are clear and obvious it gets used to much in the epl and ruins the game some of the offsides if a players off with a cm ect is a joke.

4.) 11 Oct 2022 08:32:24
Welcome VAR. but if it's the same useless people judging it then afraid it won't be any improvement.
Thoughts Bears!

5.) 11 Oct 2022 09:27:39
with the officials up here its like asking monkeys to learn to play scrabble, guaranteed to be a major flop.

6.) 11 Oct 2022 11:15:43
We will still be playing games on Tuesday that started at 3 on Saturday. We do need VAR but if it's the same incompetent bunch on the pitch that are in the monitor it will be a disaster. The sfa are the world's first refereeing association that bring footballers as bods for refereeing matches. I watched the hearts / Killie match on Sunday. My god the ref was absolutely shocking. when I see the young refs that do pro youth games I really worry that it will get worse. Matthew mcdermid had a howler on Sunday I'm dreading us getting him.

7.) 11 Oct 2022 11:17:22
VAR should be like American football and tennis where the coach or player get so many calls they can make themselves to have it looked at along with what the ref sees.

8.) 11 Oct 2022 11:18:17
I'm all for VAR. but it needs to be used properly. Given how poor our officials are up here I don't really hold out much hope for it I'm afraid especially when you see some crazy crazy decisions down south.
Despite that I do think it adds some drama to the game and think they get more correct decisions than wrong so in the end it's a good thing.

9.) 11 Oct 2022 16:22:24
It's like anything in the wrong hands. I shudder to think of the balls up that will be made of this. All for it 100% but, like the other guys, for the same reasons, I'm dreading it. For an association that can make a right a*** of a semi final draw, what nightmares will they create with Var?

09 Oct 2022 11:22:13
Devine deal confirmed to 2025.

John26

1.) 09 Oct 2022 16:02:57
Good news, lads got potential.

2.) 09 Oct 2022 16:57:23
Don't rate him at all don't think he's anywhere near good enough, hope I'm wrong though.

3.) 09 Oct 2022 17:10:11
Agreed TT1872. Doesn't give you that feeling the likes of patterson, lowry and King give/ gave. don't see him long term.

4.) 09 Oct 2022 17:29:55
He'll be at Raith Rovers in a year or 2 lol.

5.) 09 Oct 2022 17:38:53
Twisted we sold Paterson as rangers management believe Devine was the better prospect, certainly a better footballer than Patterson.

6.) 09 Oct 2022 18:17:39
John no point even explaining to those two wouldn’t surprise me that they are the same person as they always agree and it’s mainly negative also.

7.) 09 Oct 2022 18:29:23
Stormtroopers that's the first time I've ever noticed that person on this page so your presumptions are as good as this pages "inside info". And if you're really deluded enough to think we sold patterson because devine was better and not because of a record sale then you are beyond talking to.

8.) 09 Oct 2022 18:47:04
Devine is nowhere near the level Patterson was at the same stage, Storm go find a post anywhere where we've agreed on something? You won't, seems anytime someone doesn't agree with you or has a different opinion they're either a Tim or the same person, full of yourself, if I don't rate devine what's that to do with you?

9.) 09 Oct 2022 18:48:15
Tjrfc I completely agree Patterson sold for money. Above suggestion is hilarious.

10.) 09 Oct 2022 20:00:03
tj rfc so the podcast from craig mullholland must be him telling lies is it

unbeliever once again you have no ability to contribute constructively.

11.) 09 Oct 2022 20:01:43
u know so much unbeliever tell us how much we get every game paterson plays for everton or is that another lie.

12.) 09 Oct 2022 20:32:23
I think Devine could be the better defender between the 2, and Patterson more of a 'modern' get forward full back.
We shall see.

13.) 09 Oct 2022 20:36:21
I’d agree with your view bar.

14.) 09 Oct 2022 20:38:12
I think people are basing there opinion on him on his first team outings, we need to remember he is still 19 and has time. If he is progressing correctly with the under 21 squad. At this age people develop at different speeds. There is people on here who watch a lot of the younger guys would like to here ther opinion.

15.) 09 Oct 2022 20:42:47
Tjrfc obviously reading ain’t your strong point where did I mention The boy being as good as Patterson?

16.) 09 Oct 2022 20:45:52
TT where have I said anyone is a tim on here Please find that post as you won’t. I have been accused before on here but never said it. I said both of you are negative on here which you are. TT most of the time you make sweep look positive.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

17.) 09 Oct 2022 20:48:17
I fully agree that I don't rate devine that highly so far, watched a fair bit of him and never impresses greatly.

18.) 09 Oct 2022 21:38:03
Devine is a regular in GVBs match day squad and at 19 years of age, it can only be positive news for the club.
Good to see young players progressing from the Academy and hopefully they go onto become an integral part of the first team.

19.) 09 Oct 2022 22:52:59
Good to see us secure our talented youngsters.

Hopefully we get to see more of him this season, as he's looked promising in the few glimpses I've seen.

I know some folk in the Scotland set up and they say he's a hell of a talent - but lacks a bit of self belief. something which Paterson was never short of.

20.) 09 Oct 2022 23:12:52
No idea who'll go on to be better but most fans have been crying out for years we don't promote youth enough so it's great to see focus on them. Tavs virtually an ever present who doesn't seem in a hurry to leave so would much rather a player like Devine or Patterson before him promoted than the like of Flanagan Polster or Hodson we brought in before. And if we go on to make another £12m for someone who only plays as a backup that's great.

21.) 10 Oct 2022 06:45:49
I like the ambition for the boy John ans others. However, Patterson played at the Euros for Scotland when he was 19. I can unserstand why Mulholland would say that Devine is the better prospect but if you take any bias/ spin out of it then I think its a bit insulting towards Patterson considering what he had already achieved.

22.) 10 Oct 2022 08:18:06
Looking forward to see what Devine brings to the team. Very strange how he has barely kicked a ball and is some how not good enough. let's support our young players?.

23.) 10 Oct 2022 09:04:27
Storm I never directed that to you, it was to john. Craig mulholland, in charge of the youth at our club, is obviously going to say devine is betger because devine is still a rangers player. Devine, 19, can't get off the rangers bench. Patterson, 20, starting right back for Everton when not injured. Wonder who's better? Absolutely ridiculous comment.

24.) 10 Oct 2022 09:13:25
Sure Ed would call it out if it was the same person. Recall him calling out someone who claimed it was their first post ??.

{Ed033's Note - They don't appear to be the same poster.

25.) 10 Oct 2022 11:08:41
I don't get it bringing Devine down twistedtonic, any time I have see Devine he just impress me on each occasion.

26.) 10 Oct 2022 11:29:38
Watched device for the b team numerous time and the boy is nowhere near good enough for rangers he was a liability anytime I have seen him.

27.) 10 Oct 2022 11:53:54
Ajd123, if the club thought Devine was a liability they wouldn't have given him a contract till 2025.

28.) 10 Oct 2022 12:08:35
He’s 19 for god sake give the boy time! He’s clearly rated at the club! The constant putting down of players on here is unbearable!

29.) 10 Oct 2022 12:24:23
Mark44 the club gave contracts to Simpson, barker and Jones. Of course they would.

30.) 10 Oct 2022 12:26:03
Thanks for clearing up such a heinous accusation Ed. God help people who share opinions on this page.

{Ed033's Note - ok , thanks.

31.) 10 Oct 2022 12:44:26
Personally think young Devine has a big future ahead of him, will he be better than Patterson who knows? I think it’s a positive signing and hopefully the lad proves the one or 2 doubters wrong.

32.) 10 Oct 2022 13:39:18
Tjrfc, the club also gave contracts to Patterson, McGregor and Colak, but of course you hadn't thought about that as you are a very negative poster.

33.) 10 Oct 2022 14:06:11
It's funny how people can judge a player on feelings rather than performance eh!

Crackpots at least wait till boys had a run of games before passing judgement crazy!

34.) 10 Oct 2022 16:03:17
So I'm bringing devine down because from what I've seen he's not good enough but because he's young he gets a free ride? Yet Matondo on here gets slated every week and he's only 21? What's the difference?

Lowry is good enough
McCann is good enough
King is good enough

Devine is not good enough

IN MY OPINION.

35.) 10 Oct 2022 16:33:35
Also what about James Maxwell? Everyone on here raving about him he's better than Doig and should be 2nd choice? Said he was all hype and turned out to be exactly that he's now a world beater at Doncatser rovers, having a different opinion isn't a crime, don't agree that's fine doesn't mean I'm negative, seems if some people's opinions doesn't suit others it's a hate crime.

36.) 10 Oct 2022 16:59:55
Devine Did not impress me to much when I seen him play West Ham in the friendly he’s 19 so would be expecting him to break through soo think a 6 month loan in spl might help the boy the coaches ect must seen something In him considering it’s till 2025.

37.) 10 Oct 2022 17:04:10
Matondo? Try tillman who is even younger. Taking feeling out of it, devine was woeful against QoTS and not great v hearts last season either.

38.) 10 Oct 2022 17:13:00
I hope I'm wrong RFC but I can't see it tbh

Exactly Tjrfc suits some pieple on here to slag others but when it doesn't suit everyone is either fake or the same person.

39.) 10 Oct 2022 19:53:59
So tell us why Maxwell was sent on loan, offered no deal, he could not kick on, it was decided by rangers yefeko and ciubatrou offered better options.

40.) 10 Oct 2022 20:13:58
I just hope the lad gets a chance to prove himself in the first team over the course of the season.

41.) 10 Oct 2022 20:27:20
Brutal mate. Post PSV people on here were saying buy tillman no matter the cost then 2 weeks later they were saying don't touch him with a barge pole.

42.) 10 Oct 2022 22:12:36
I think Devine has looked comfortable when he’s played, even when playing on opposite side.
I think he’s good enough to merit place on bench and as cover at RB but like so many of current squad jury is out.

43.) 10 Oct 2022 22:47:09
John26 if you really think Patterson wasn't sold solely for the money your more deluded than I thought. Arguably the best homegrown talent you have produced in decades. If he had stayed at rangers he'd be the first on the team sheet every week. Hell his forward presence may even have won yous the Europa League. Although I have never seen this Devine kick a ball, as Celtic and Scotland fan I rate Patterson very highly, it's a shame the time he's having at Everton, boy of his talents should be playing 90 mins, week in week out. Hope he kicks on soon, he could become Scotland's own Gareth Bale imo.

44.) 10 Oct 2022 23:55:20
John26 someone disagrees with you makes it not constructive, how arrogant are you? Patterson was sold for 26 million reasons nothing to go with a kid in a potential pipeline. Listen to yourself pal .

45.) 11 Oct 2022 10:27:05
Twisted tonic . appropriate name lol you might end up being right on devine but at least wait till he gets a chance. And for record I always said matondo was being played outta position something rangers have a stupid history of doing to players.

46.) 11 Oct 2022 13:51:21
Pablo no it’s obvious Paterson was sold for money, it’s a different debate, Devine is very high rated player.

47.) 11 Oct 2022 13:53:19
Unbeliever. It’s all about opinions, did not realise we got 26 million for Paterson fantastic business

So Milland wison podcasts are lies, I must stop listening to them.

48.) 11 Oct 2022 17:46:54
I said the exact same thing about Maxwell John and u said he was highly rated and better than Doig 6 months later he never had a club and is now with a league 2 English side

Others on here giving it big licks over Kelly, Hardie, Dickson, etc all never good enough but people on here suggested they were, so it's OK to say your opinion on them being good but I can't say they won't be good, opinions n that.

49.) 12 Oct 2022 11:06:05
Yes I did twisted, god imagine me getting something wrong, shock horror stunned I am

Kelly was good enough, just fell out with dof, as for Dickson this is not the site to discuss a player we sacked.

50.) 12 Oct 2022 11:07:27
Ps do u act know why rangers got RID off Maxwell, and bigger clubs would not touch him, ask around.

51.) 12 Oct 2022 11:32:41
John26 26 is obviously a typo. Scraping the barrel. Paterson went because we needed to balance the books and he wasn't dislodging our captain. Fantastic piece of business all things considered. let's be honest Devine had nothing to do with it.

17 Sep 2022 17:47:47
Talk today board want Callum Davidson, absolutely unbelievable.

John26

1.) 17 Sep 2022 18:12:58
So they want a yes man.

2.) 17 Sep 2022 18:13:36
WTF!
That would be a cheap option and a serious down grade from Gio and Gerrard previously.
I’ve always backed the board but not sure which direction they are going with that type of appointment?
P. S. Hope you enjoyed your day, John26.

3.) 17 Sep 2022 18:19:42
John25- not that again. That's a huge no from me mate.

4.) 17 Sep 2022 18:20:36
Surely not John. Think I’d rather have Billy Reid lol.

5.) 17 Sep 2022 18:27:05
Jeezo where are we going.

6.) 17 Sep 2022 18:28:30
Away. i'm surprised Stevie Clarke hasn't been mentioned yet ???.

7.) 17 Sep 2022 18:41:22
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Billy Reid don’t seem so bad after all.

8.) 17 Sep 2022 18:44:21
Omg if anywhere true that would be the time for the fans to stand up whether it be boycotting matches or not buying merchandise as clearly they want a yes man.

9.) 17 Sep 2022 18:47:05
Honestly in my opinion this is an upgrade on gio bored bored of his tactics wee look lost no press no aggression trying to see games out his interviews well eh well eh sick of it.

10.) 17 Sep 2022 18:52:42
Guy won more to trophies than gio and gerrard put together lol.

11.) 17 Sep 2022 18:56:24
For whatever reason I think the relationship between the board and Gio has got strained in the past few weeks, as for Callum Davidson I'd rather have Jim Davidson, at least we'd get a laugh.

12.) 17 Sep 2022 18:58:41
Surely not Callum Davidson ?.

13.) 17 Sep 2022 19:03:26
Had great day out,

The level off manager we r allegedly sounding out is concerning, is anyone picking up we r sounding anyone out.

14.) 17 Sep 2022 19:05:17
Rather have Billy Davies.

15.) 17 Sep 2022 19:07:52
Surely not John26 ?That would send our supporters wild with anger ?.

16.) 17 Sep 2022 19:14:07
Surely to god John26 that has to have come from someone at the wind up ? That's not even worth thinking about as it won't happen, no chance!

17.) 17 Sep 2022 19:14:22
Can people remember a few things here because the panic is unreal.

The board have not given Ross Wilson the money needed to buy anyone good enough to walk into the first team. Instead we have INVESTED millions into a very young promsing left back who needs DEVELOPED. A good, solid centre back in Ben Davies who at 4 million is still a cheap signing these days. That’s the amount you pay for a good squad player and that might be all he is. At 4 million, he could also be DEVELOPED and we could be the ones that bring him to find the form that got him his move to Liverpool. Iv heard his wife was diagnosed with a terminal sickness. And he picked up a knock. Hence why we have not seen him. So let’s be patient with Davies.

Helander was the same money. Goldson was less and he went on to be ever present in the team.

Matondo is signed to be DEVELOPED and at 2-3 million that’s also a bargain buy in todays market. So that’s why he doesn’t start every game. We are DEVELOPING him.

Tillman we are trying to DEVELOP in the hope we do and we can sign him at a fraction of what he would cost if we were to buy a developed Tillman Bayern. Very smart move here.

Sands - he’s only 22 and has been chucked in the deep end. A utility player who can play right back, centre back and holding midfield. He isn’t someone who’s a natural CB. But he’s learning the hard way and he’s given us his all.

Leon king - being developed

McCann - being developed.

Due to the board and more so Donald Parks plan to sell the club with no debt we must see that Ross Wilson and GVB are working with a show string budget and doing their best on it.

To sign a first team player who walks straight into the starting 11 for us we’re going to need to pay 7 mill plus and that’s what was quoted for evander who would have been great.

But clearly the board are not issuing the funds for wilson and GVB.

Therefor how can we blame them? I would say in Lawrence (free) and Colak they have actually proved to be quite good at bringing in first team bargain buys. The rest are development signings.

We kept on scott Arfield and McGregor because Gio knew he wasn’t getting enough money to add a player who is ready to walk into the starting 11.

With king, Lowry, McCann, Ridvan and matondo we have a group of young talented prospects who could all be like new signings to us WHEN THEY ARE READY.

Unfortunately football fans have no patience and tend to not see the bigger, longer term picture.

Yes we want instant success. i'm sure Gio and Ross do too. But what can they do if Park and co won’t give them the money? Do you expect them to pay out of their own pockets?

Donald park wants to sell rangers with no debt. He’s used the money we made to pay off all debt. After the financial turmoil we were once in then fair enough.

He’s also a business man and wants to sell rangers for us much as he can. Understandably.

So let’s get off Wilson and Gios back.

Maybe we need to put the financial long term future of the club first this year.

18.) 17 Sep 2022 19:26:30
Something in our club is rotten. That performance today was dire. There is next to no communication with the fans yet fans are expected to splash out on a whim. I really believe they are taking us for mugs.

19.) 17 Sep 2022 19:31:29
Surely that’s got to be a wind up ?.

20.) 17 Sep 2022 20:01:13
Think i would be happier with the side to side passing than Callum’s tactics. I could always say it’s drivel. But I won’t.

21.) 17 Sep 2022 20:04:43
Billy Reid is the assistant manager of Chelsea. I don’t think there is any comparison between him and the st Johnstone manager.

22.) 17 Sep 2022 20:23:42
Unbelievable!

23.) 17 Sep 2022 20:24:17
What's the thoughts on why John is this a cheap option? Would cost a fair bit to get rid of Gio and backroom staff.

24.) 17 Sep 2022 20:46:27
An upgrade on the guy who us to the EL Final and Champions League group stage, aye ok?.

25.) 17 Sep 2022 21:03:41
I think John is pulling our legs here guys for some bites.

26.) 17 Sep 2022 21:45:55
Callum Davidson, cover at right back?

27.) 17 Sep 2022 21:54:46
So so far on this page it's Davidson, parker, OSG, tuchel and I'm certain I've missed a couple.

28.) 17 Sep 2022 22:01:22
John Russell Martin is a name iv heard several times he doesn't seem to be doing a great job at Swansea and was at Mk dons before tbh the names appear to be ones you wouldn't expect to be linked buy if our board are skint Martin or Davidson appear cheap options.

29.) 17 Sep 2022 22:05:19
The board seem to have run out of ideas. Initially investment was needed to catchup Celtic and improve ibrox and murry park all were achieved then it was yo get into sustainability again achieved but we need investment to push on its either not available or the board are happy to take cash in and settle for that Can't believe where we are after winning 55.

30.) 17 Sep 2022 22:24:49
Surely John26 you don't believe that callum davidson has any chance of becoming the rangers manager mate ? I take you as an experienced, intelligent rangers supporter and i'm positive you didn't believe whoever told you this mate ?.

31.) 17 sep 2022 22:41:01
send for big dunc.

32.) 17 Sep 2022 22:43:33
I'm not in the know but is it maybe just we have some bad form, tough fixtures and new guys slow to settle for multiple reasons (new country, injury, personal issues) and we are all looking for reasons and making rumours? Gio disappointed after a defeat and ex players start chattering. Gio leaving rumours started after a clickbait article where a Dutch ex footballer floated 5 or 6 names that could take job an Dutch FA. If we weren't so negative and looking elsewhere then maybe they have more confidence and better performances. Managers have disagreements with boards all the time but we can't rip everything up and start again when things get tough.

33.) 17 Sep 2022 23:28:11
You're some Fisherman John, hope you enjoyed The Players Lounge today.

34.) 17 Sep 2022 23:50:26
Callum Davison has done something gio and Steve g failed to do. Win 2 trophies in 1 season on a lot smaller budget that we are on.

35.) 18 Sep 2022 00:02:24
John25, I think you've had to much free booze today mate.

36.) 18 Sep 2022 00:03:54
Surely that can’t be true.

37.) 18 Sep 2022 00:05:15
Callum Davidson was a left back lol.

38.) 18 Sep 2022 00:50:28
If it were a only Scottish manager's choice I'd rather have Robbie Nelson or Martindale, in Davidsons defense winning two cups on his budget was quite an achievement.

39.) 18 Sep 2022 02:29:25
Tomthumb i think Duncan Ferguson would be a great manager of Rangers the big man is very fair but if you are not doing what is asked of you he would go right through you (more than half our team would be in for a shock) if gvb goes i would love him in.

40.) 18 Sep 2022 02:32:33
John tell me your having a wind up about Davidson surely no.

41.) 18 Sep 2022 07:13:03
TT12 although i'm backing gio to at least the end of the season i tend to agree that big dunc is a good coach and going by sir alex etc will be a very good manager ?But if ross wilson is signing some of these players and that's the road our club is going down, big dunc would never entertain that as he would never be a yes man for anyone ?If dunc was our manager and wilson or anyone interfered for that matter on signing players and team selection the big fella would have them by the thrapple ?You won't mess big dunc about!

42.) 18 Sep 2022 07:38:38
many on here wanted davidson after he won the two cups. mb board r listening

irvger certainly not fishing. leave that for others

baxter never had a drink. something not right at our club.

43.) 18 Sep 2022 08:36:52
Gaffer I I assure u not pulling any legs. I have never went on a fishing trip on here.

Names like Davidson Ross Reid mcinness all worrying.

Park family r pulling th strings imo.

44.) 18 Sep 2022 10:04:32
Agree john reg something not right at our club, I think Gio is on the brink, if we'd have lost yesterday he could have gone, the board have themselves to blame, Gerrard should have been backed the summer we won 55, 6 million in comp to Gio, that money could have been spent on players, I honestly don't think Gio can win this spl and the board believe this also.

45.) 18 Sep 2022 10:53:38
Kinghenry. 4m isn't an investment look at the guy Jenz celtic got on loan even CV was a loan initially 5m for a LB isn't an investment agsin cdltic got juranovic an international for less the point the little money we've had hasn't been well spent and that is on Ross Wilson.

46.) 18 Sep 2022 11:37:57
No wonder dave king wanted shot of graeme park especially after being the guy firmly behind the appointment of pedro ?King just doesn't rate/ like the boy of douglas ?.

47.) 18 Sep 2022 11:49:27
Walter I right unbelievably, however this is a rumour site, I’m asking if any one hearianything.

But quite simply I will post no more rumours.

48.) 18 Sep 2022 13:28:27
I will be honest, looking in at our club there's a piece of the jigsaw missing and has been for a while, letting balogon and katic
Go when we need two centre backs baffles me

Yes souter n other lad, but no where near our team

I think gio would have wanted at least one too stay as cover for champs league, but in my eyes someone else is making decisions n pulling the strings

This is just on example

We done well too get too where we are now, but i think current board members i. e park are happy and content with where we are at the moment, without putting in anymore cash, ?, we need a strip down n freshen up, but if a manager can't get his own players too buy, and has constant first pics in goldson, tav, kent, morelos, guys who look disheartened n unintrested we are in trouble, as he's just a puppet on the boards string,

Sorry guys long winded rant but hope us catch my drift.

49.) 18 Sep 2022 14:12:17
John don't stop posting rumour because some may not like them.

50.) 18 Sep 2022 14:19:08
The names that have been mentioned as possible future managers are nothing short of a very bad joke and would show how little ambition our current Board has.
GVB is the manager and should continue as such. It is quite clear that he hasn't had the support warranted this season although it reality the Board has shown no support for the manager since we won the league.
We need change at the Top and that means replacing Park as Chairman and if the current Board can't raise the necessary investment for quality new players then time for them to find someone that can and then step down.
By now we really should only be needing a couple of quality players each season to top up the first eleven but because of some poor signings we still see ourselves toiling to have a top quality side that is capable of winning the league and progressing in the Champions League.

51.) 18 Sep 2022 14:26:10
This is not a rumour, simply no chance of this happening, I don't get why people are assuming we are getting a new manager. Callum Davidson will never be near the rangers manager position, this is the biggest cracker I have heard yet.

52.) 18 Sep 2022 15:52:59
John has never put anything on for a joke so don’t why anyone is saying he is fishing, just hit his style.

Keep posting info John the majority want to hear what you have to say.

53.) 18 Sep 2022 16:59:00
School of thought that GIo needs a Scottish Assistant, that’s where names like Davidson come from. Don’t believe anything on this.

54.) 18 Sep 2022 17:04:57
If John says he heard something I believe him, whether it’s true or not. John imo only passing on what he hears, and more often than not he’s on the ball. Imo a genuine poster who respects others.

55.) 18 Sep 2022 23:02:39
I’d rather have McInnes and even that is laughable.

John26's banter posts with other poster's replies to John26's banter posts

28 Oct 2022 17:14:06
it is easy to support a team who are doing well not so easy to support a team playing badly.

John26

1.) 28 Oct 2022 17:36:43
Agree John sometimes we need to take stock and understand that not one player goes out onto that pitch with the intention of underperforming. We stick by them thick and thin.

2.) 28 Oct 2022 17:38:38
Correct John some of the stuff posted on here is nothing but shocking.

3.) 28 Oct 2022 17:39:59
Agreed John, it's even harder to support a team when it seems some players aren't giving 100% on the pitch.

4.) 28 Oct 2022 17:42:42
We can be a fickle lot, John26.
But sometimes you need a little something back.
Like the players are giving their all no matter what.

5.) 28 Oct 2022 17:52:56
Hearing gio and his coaches have the players doing mostly technical ball work and drills in training, with not much proper fitness drills at all ?Thus all these injuries and our players don't look anywhere near as fit as they were under gerrard, beale and co?.

6.) 28 Oct 2022 18:08:01
Very true John, but at my age it would be nice if I wasnt worried about our next game EVERY week.

7.) 28 Oct 2022 18:36:45
john26,glad you have turned into confucius now, wise words comes from closed mouth that catches no flies.

8.) 28 Oct 2022 19:03:07
absolute nonsense walter. u after gio arrived was going on how super fit he had players. much better than Sg. how we were super fit back to back Et games

bar i’m sure you remember darker days pre souness like many on here. 4-5 in league regular

when the going gets tough the tough get going. that is everyone connected to our great club.

9.) 28 Oct 2022 19:04:22
John - the majority will support the team through thick and thin but unfortunately the level of performance has dropped these past few weeks.
Hopefully 3pts v Aberdeen.

10.) 28 Oct 2022 19:20:29
Great to see we still have some fans who are right behind the team. We have always been a nightmare but nothing compared to our fans at the moment. Are we playing great? Absolutely not but we will get through this if we stick together.

11.) 28 Oct 2022 19:27:25
Agree John, we will come thru this period stronger and ready for the challenge.

12.) 28 Oct 2022 19:46:18
Very true but we also need to see effort passion etc… which we haven’t being seeing. It works both ways.

13.) 28 Oct 2022 20:16:47
Well said that man??.

14.) 28 Oct 2022 20:28:28
Nobody stops, or finds it hard, supporting the team because they're going through a hard time. Our support of the team isn't the hard part. Supporting Rangers is easy!
What's hard is watching half arsed players going through the motions. What's difficult to support is watching a manager not up to the job. Who picks the wrong players to play the wrong system, which results in his team getting destroyed in Europe, struggling to beat a team from the championship, or squeezing a draw against 10 men at home. That's the hard part!

15.) 28 Oct 2022 20:50:48
Scott arfield said that did he not?

16.) 28 Oct 2022 20:51:49
Highland your post a bit jumbled my friend …. Have you had a few of the highland? ?.

17.) 28 Oct 2022 20:56:10
ray al about opinions. but u cover my point beautiful ly.

18.) 28 Oct 2022 20:57:29
100% correct john. Through good and bad we need to stand firm.

19.) 28 Oct 2022 21:11:28
I remember having to suffer when Celtic won 9 in a row from 1966 to 1974 but stuck with my team. This feels different though, something not right. Back in the day Rangers were a very good team, just Celtic were better.

20.) 28 oct 2022 21:22:37
this is a banter site, good and bad is discussed

gab, what is it you find shocking?

21.) 28 Oct 2022 21:23:19
Win lose or draw

SUPPORT THE RANGER55.

22.) 28 Oct 2022 21:38:02
John26 is bang on the money ?We support the rangers for life and not just for Christmas ?Through thick and thin ???.

23.) 29 Oct 2022 12:07:29
well said walter.

24.) 29 Oct 2022 12:11:14
Still support my team just not the manager and if he is not gone soon we will see no improvement.

28 Oct 2022 14:15:31
kemar roofe injured. reuccurence off injury that has kept him out for months.

John26

1.) 28 Oct 2022 15:05:32
Fecking at it. Seem it many times. The teams playing crap so to avoid being involved, injured again. Iys like going off on the sick. ?.

2.) 28 Oct 2022 15:14:06
Such a shame as imo he's the best finisher at the club but we can't continually pay wages without a return am nit sure when his contract expires but if not end of this season we maybe need to try and get a payoff.

3.) 28 Oct 2022 15:19:07
Nobody in their right mind would sign Roofe when does his contract expire?

4.) 28 oct 2022 15:22:23
do you remember my saying he had a bad rep at previous clubs john
always been the same, some of his teammates didn’t want to play with him.

5.) 28 Oct 2022 17:08:25
blue 18 month.

6.) 28 Oct 2022 18:11:32
SWS you used to wax lyrical about Roofe. You fed up with him yet or do you still think he has something to offer? ?.

7.) 28 Oct 2022 19:13:00
yes tom i remember your posts well. imo he is a good striker but something seriously wrong re attitude or mental health.

we made a mistake signing him. although after his goal against standard i don’t remtmany saying that myself included.

i feel we have reached a clear line re signing players like him, ramsey helander jack and souttar.

different if u sign an injury free player who gets a bad injury like hagi or alf that can happen.

26 Oct 2022 18:08:02
tt reply do i think Douglas Park should talk to 1872.
why should he. they run him down, bad mouth him and his family. have put much less into the club than Park and his family.
they r the mouthpiece for King. they have rejected opportunities to buy additional shares on three occasions as they are struggling to raise money. so i fail to see how they can get 13 million to buy kings shares

1872 want fox to takeover rangers. how can it be a takeover if u r proposing to buy25%
she also states she is buyyto sell to other people. who MAY then invest 75 million in rangers.
she also says in her business model she will then sell assets of the business to the 25% and allow people to lease the assets back.

what about the other 75 % off shareholders why do they not get a share of capital she raises

unfortunately 1872 spend most their time arguing with themselves. one chair and a part time administrator. many people who donate money or shares but have little say
Park is trying to keep shares among rangers people.

folk moan he does not talk, legally all the company need to do is issue accounts once a year and annual report. they do that

ps i do not like parks. i'd much rather wolthartd or halstead were chairman.

John26

1.) 26 Oct 2022 18:55:59
Good response John
And very strange the folk she wants to see too after buying
My question is why can’t they come forward and buy first hand and deal with it themselves and let us know who they are and what there intentions are?

That’s worrying and very strange.

2.) 26 Oct 2022 19:04:31
John as custodians of the club they have a duty to engage with the fans who also put money into the club. I agree personal insults are uncalled for the parks are the ones who call the shots and to nit talk with sections of the fans for over 2 years is poor. What are they afraid of.

3.) 26 Oct 2022 19:09:53
John, what is basis of your statement that 1872 want Fox to takeover Rangers? Of course Park should speak with 1872 as he should speak with all shareholders. As a wise man once said a problem defined, set out and communicated is a problem half solved.

4.) 26 Oct 2022 19:11:23
sounds to me john kyle fox is a bit of a pawnbroker mate, i think there's something shifty about her.

5.) 26 Oct 2022 19:23:32
Good post John.

6.) 26 Oct 2022 22:53:23
bankie because 1872 say they support her so as to get parks ou

park does speak to all shareholders in the annual report. i suspect the majority on here who moan about him not speaking to shareholders are not even shareholders

three years ago i offered one off the critics on finance page 3000shares. a corporate day out at ibrox he ran a mile.

26 Oct 2022 15:10:12
good performance from youth team.

John26

1.) 26 Oct 2022 15:34:06
Apparently 2-0 up and cruising before Napoli scored a couple at the end of the first half?
Before another goal from Lovelace wins the game.
Good result for them.
Can the senior team follow suit? We live in hope!

2.) 26 Oct 2022 15:46:25
Great result for them and hopefully their big brother can get a similar result tonight.

25 Oct 2022 20:48:26
i'm very interested to see Johnly yfeko with first team training today.
i really hope he is heading to first team squad soon.

John26

1.) 25 Oct 2022 21:25:32
He seems to have shot up through the ranks pretty quickly!

It's great to see and hope he impresses.

2.) 25 Oct 2022 21:30:09
Is he the LB we got from Leicester?

3.) 25 Oct 2022 21:36:08
Do you think this lad has a chance John? Is he a cb?

4.) 25 Oct 2022 21:57:54
mw yes we got him from liecster same as bassey can play lb or ch.

bgate he can go all the way imo

better ch than bassey good feet and strong in the air

bassey definitely better lb though.

5.) 25 Oct 2022 22:11:20
Saw that too. Sure I read he plays CB too like Bassey. Don't know if that's true tho. Barasic has been poor so maybe time to let him and yilmaz battle it out.

6.) 25 Oct 2022 22:16:58
Heard good things about this lad John, very bassey-esqe seemingly. Are we possibly going down the Dutch route? We've got a tremendous amount of very highly rated youngsters, in particular lovelace and I think there's another right back (not Devine) . I'd be happy to get a few of them in and give the team some time. I'm not really that arsed if we win 56, 57 etc. immediately. Just want to see some good football and a bit of fighting spirit.

7.) 25 oct 2022 22:21:27
change of subject john

do you think douglas park will ever agree to speak with 1872 .?

8.) 25 Oct 2022 22:37:32
Yeah he is the big beast of a lb we got from Brenda's lot. He can also play cb.

Looks an absolute unit John! Where’s he play lb or lcb?

10.) 26 Oct 2022 07:11:24
momty he has played both this season.

11.) 26 Oct 2022 08:55:19
Another good acquisition From Leicester
If he can do as well as Bassey did then would be superb.

12.) 26 Oct 2022 09:05:11
John, how's Kevin Ciubotaru playing? had high hopes when i read that spurs tried to get him before us.

13.) 26 Oct 2022 09:38:57
I hear about us going down the Dutch route and playing youngsters but I’ve yet to see it. Apart from a couple of fleeting appearances you could t say that any youngster has been given a good run of games. And it’s not like we’re playing brilliant football so they’d struggle to get in the team. If our youngsters are as good as we think they are then this is the year surely for us to start seeing some.

Saw the boy Ciubotaru play once last season and was not too impressed. See the boy yfeko as a much better prospect and great to see him train with the first team before such a big ECL tie. Hopefully they both come good.
