Ibrox noise reporting rangers looking for 10M for Colak, I'll take whatever they're on because you are never getting 10M for him.

Kendi

1.) 23 Jun 2023 11:30:21
Best natural goalscorer at the club. Why do fans continually knock our players down?

2.) 23 Jun 2023 11:51:32
??????.

3.) 23 Jun 2023 11:55:51
Very simple dtb he can't do what his manager is wanting his cf doing, good goalscorer but brings nothing else to the party.

4.) 23 Jun 2023 12:01:16
He's a good finisher that's not in doubt but he's not a 10M player.

5.) 23 Jun 2023 12:28:23
???? they are on glue that ibrox noise lot.

6.) 23 Jun 2023 12:38:24
DTB likely because he is woeful.

7.) 23 Jun 2023 12:43:23
£10m. Are they high? ?.

8.) 23 Jun 2023 12:51:37
Get a grip Tjrfc2!Colak ain't woeful pal? You're spot on DTB continually knocking colak instead of getting behind him? He's a rangers player and a very good goalscorer into the bargain ?.

9.) 23 Jun 2023 12:51:39
Why not just give him the 16mill buff value and knock it back .

10.) 23 Jun 2023 12:54:59
He's worth a lot more than that. Bargain at 10 million!

11.) 23 Jun 2023 12:55:09
Isn't goals the most important thing to bring to the party? I really don't understand "he brings nothing except goals". Maybe the manager should play a system that encourages our goal scorers to score?

12.) 23 Jun 2023 12:56:02
? . 4m would be great, never mind 10!

13.) 23 Jun 2023 13:20:12
Can't help but notice it's the members of the Morelos fan club slagging off Colak.

14.) 23 Jun 2023 13:29:32
I really like Colak and think there's more to his play than most give him credit for.

I think it's fair to say that he's not MBs type of striker and I'm sure he'd want to be more than a seldom used sub - so I expect he'll move on.

Wouldn't expect to get anywhere near £10m for him though, would be looking to recover our original outlay.

15.) 23 Jun 2023 13:38:13
Sws we have all said he's a good goalscorer but he can't play our managers way, big question with him will he be happy sitting on our bench and not in our European squad? personally sell and get better that can do what his manager is looking for.

16.) 23 Jun 2023 13:38:50
Can't please our fans
Scores goals
Wins games
Hes a poacher.

17.) 23 Jun 2023 13:47:21
Instead of continually knocking Colak give him support as he is a Rangers player after all. His stats are fine on goals scored per ratio of games.

18.) 23 Jun 2023 13:54:42
? it’s a dance boys if we sayed we wanted 6/ 7 million clubs would want to pay 3/ 4 how many times have we seen this dessers club wanted 6million we payed 2.5 million if he’s sold it will be around 6million imo and he’s worth it he’s clinical and in the correct system easily a 20+ goals player every season.

19.) 23 Jun 2023 14:11:15
I only seen one person slag him off on this post DTB age is a good goalscorer but he ain’t worth half of 10 million. Also didn’t see you having a go at other posters when they slagged off Alfredo kent lunstrum whoever etc….

20.) 23 Jun 2023 14:19:30
Don’t get it! …on here we mostly get complaints about under value of our players but as soon as. Well you get where I’m coming from ?.

21.) 23 Jun 2023 14:24:45
Beale came out and said himself that he has no issues with Colak's style of play and I fully expect him to stay. Why replace a guy who scored for fun? Haaland doesn't do much but score and city fans love him. The manky mobs striker doesn't do much but score and they idolise him. Our fans want our strikers to be a mixture of Kane, Mbappe and Halaand but under the age of 24 and for pennies. No happening.

22.) 23 Jun 2023 14:35:54
Ehl I 100% agree. For me colaks movement was a cut above Morelos who regularly sat at edge of box and made it tougher for the midfielders.

23.) 23 Jun 2023 14:37:37
Correct Ayrshire, MB did say he had no problems with his style of play. Don't really get why people say he can't play MB System but as DTB said it is coming from the el coo fan club.

24.) 23 Jun 2023 14:37:41
People seem to forget it was his first season and also had a couple of injuries also had a better first season stats wise than Morelos.

25.) 23 Jun 2023 14:37:54
Same amount of goals less games.

26.) 23 Jun 2023 14:46:02
You having a laugh Ayrshire? kyogo covers some amount of ground freeing up other players, can't believe i read that.

27.) 23 Jun 2023 14:54:08
Big problem again gofor 4 goals for Beale.

28.) 23 Jun 2023 15:13:14
You make it sound as if Morelos played 100 games, GoFor!
Colak 2022/ 2023 - 18 goals, 3 assists, 39 appearances
Morelos 2017/ 2018 - 18 goals, 8 assists, 43 appearances
Not sure about assisting the assist.
Not sure how many were sub appearances.
Even this season.
Morelos 2022/ 2023 - 12 goals, 7 assists, 45 appearances.
From a player who was always apparently unfit, injured and downed tools? I would have thought Colak would have had double the goals?
Now before some get their knickers in a twist, I've always said with the proper service Colak would score goals.
The big question is will he get that in a Beale side / system?

29.) 23 Jun 2023 15:16:43
MB should play a system that encourages goal scorers to score then. MB system 4321 tippy tappy is very unsuccessful, had our best result against celtic when MB changed his system. ?.

30.) 23 Jun 2023 15:16:43
Yes colak does t suit beales type of play but what's the harm in having different options for different opponents. Guy knows where rhe goal is man give him a break keep him around and get behind him. Can't win games without scoring goals.

31.) 23 jun 2023 15:53:42
totally correct dizzee, every winning team needs a different option, imagine playing the exact same way every week, oh we did that under warbs, gio and stevie didn't we, and we were bored to tears often.

32.) 23 Jun 2023 15:53:48
If that was the other mob they’d be reporting him worth £15m! We need to start big upping our players, instead, we knowck them down and when the club get a paltry sun the same folk laughing will be the same folk moaning!

33.) 23 Jun 2023 16:19:32
Bang on TT we became far too predictable and so did the 4321 tippy tappy under MB, that's why he dropped it towards the end of the season. We need versatility in how we play.

34.) 23 Jun 2023 16:21:26
Playing the fluid 4-3-3 we scored an average of 2.55 goals under Beale.
Playing the supposedly 4-1-2-1-2 in 3 of the 4 final games ( straight from Ethel’s mouth ) we scored an average of 2.6
Some difference???.

35.) 23 jun 2023 16:34:47
not interested in nonsense spud

colak is a lethal finisher with a touch if class about him, i prefer to use my etes on a player, colak was sensational when we played to his strengths, i would certainly want to keep him,

36.) 23 Jun 2023 16:35:17
Yeah but we played 4321 majority of the season spud and won nothing, got pumped off celtic in the league, cup final and semi final. How can you compare one that's been played in 3 games to the other in over 25 games?

37.) 23 Jun 2023 16:36:47
But yeah you are right spud we did score more on average per game playing 41212. Thanks for proving my point ?.

38.) 23 Jun 2023 16:56:35
We also dropped more points with Colak as our number 1 striker.
We also never won anything with Colak as our joint top goal scorer.
I’m Failing to see the relevance?
0.05 goals per game? I suppose a wins a win. Even though we’d have to play 100 games with 4-1-2-1-2 to get an extra 5 goals over the fluid 4-3-3???.

39.) 23 Jun 2023 17:08:40
What's the issue? He's contracted with good stats so either he stays and fights for his place or we sell him and try to get as much as possible, at one point we were all raving about him when he scored a negri load of goals in the first few months, he's got 2 teams into champs league with his goals in recent years and knows where the goal is, absolutely put a high price on his head so if someone thinks we'll lowball a cheeky 6m offer, we grab it. Don't think we can lose on this.

40.) 23 Jun 2023 17:22:48
So if we played 100 games 41212 we'd score 5 more goals than playing 100 games 4321? Yeah that is a win, again thanks for proving my point? Was it Colak's fault we dropped more points? No it wasn't so why mention that? Its not relevant as Colak wasn't playing at the back was he? Could it be King and McLaughlin at the back?

41.) 23 Jun 2023 17:44:41
MPH - using the same game selection - what was our average goals scored against Celtic per each formation?

42.) 23 Jun 2023 17:51:42
He has to shoulder the blame.
Number one striker who failed to score the goals to win the games we dropped points?‍♂️
That’s been aimed at others?
I mean you along with others blamed Morelos for Rangers getting beat when he wasn’t even playing ?‍♂️
I love how the parameters always change to big other strikers up.
We now have you saying Colak has 18 goals in 28 starts??
So what about Morelos with 124 goals, 58 assist in 217 starts for Rangers. Mental Gymnastics at work?.

43.) 23 Jun 2023 17:54:57
Must be away trying to find stats to manipulate?‍♂️.

44.) 23 Jun 2023 18:03:13
Colak would not fit into a 4-1-2-1-2 system. Rangers finished the season playing Sakala and Matondo in the half spaces like split wingers. Cantwell was playing more centrally pulling CB out of position and running beyond them. Where in that system does a poacher fit in? Face it, Colak isn’t a guy who is suited to playing football under Beale.

The Rangers Review said Colak had just changed agency and that normally means the player is on the move. I do expect him to leave this summer since he won’t be the main striker at Ibrox and that’s what he wants to be.

45.) 23 Jun 2023 18:46:38
When Colak was our number 1 striker he was our top goalscorer so that would suggest that he was doing his job infront of goal and the issue of points dropped is to blame at our defence.

46.) 23 Jun 2023 19:04:08
Verdant I never said Colak would be a starter, I'm saying that Colak should be kept as he is a goal scorer and would give us a different option. I do think that we should be playing a system/ formation/ set up that encourages goal scorers to score whether that's 442 352 433 41212 4321. We shouldn't prioritising link up play over scoring goals.

47.) 23 Jun 2023 19:11:23
These posts involving Coldo are becoming very tiresome, they're ruining perfectly good threads.

48.) 23 Jun 2023 19:24:09
Beale you are fudging the numbers by just saying under Beale as the first part Beale took over colak was out injured then he has a slight reoccurrence and was back out then going another injury.

Funny how people are quite willing to accept a guy that averages 2 or 3 goals a season from Italy but don't want to back clubs top scoring forward ?

Colak deserves at least another season

If there is a fee comes in for him that's fair and Beale wants the change then fair enough have to back the manager.

49.) 23 Jun 2023 19:45:43
Folk would rather he held the ball up and laid the ball off than score ??‍♂️???.

50.) 23 Jun 2023 19:49:14
Gofor very simple, our MANAGER wants his centre forward dropping deep and linking up, Colak can't do this, some say our manager should change what he actually thinks about the game, that seems very very crazy to me, not at all buy a player that can drop deep and link up, it is the way our manager prefers playing.

51.) 23 Jun 2023 19:50:18
Spot on gofor back the manager and his system ?.

52.) 23 Jun 2023 20:00:39
Why is it crazy to change his system when his systen is very unsuccessful?

53.) 23 Jun 2023 20:44:36
He is worth keeping as an option, nothing more than that. We need 3 strikers. But if a bid comes in then he will be away don't think beale will resist too much.

54.) 23 jun 2023 21:00:00 beale, just like with tillman you have become totally fixated on colak and this managers style business, really mate, give the same line a rest even for a day.

55.) 23 Jun 2023 21:41:06
Tom, i will post what i like, flick by not a problem.

56.) 23 Jun 2023 21:55:49
Im on a lot a forums n honestly never known so many fans knock of their own players so much, nobody's ever good enough for one reason or another

Oh he dosnt fit this system
Ohh he's lazy

Colak makes it look simple
He has flair n scores goals n too my knowledge they win games

N its a teams game, so they all chip in

Do you ever wonder if somtimes our teams lack a form is dew too some a the crap that's spouted by our own fans

Christ if they can't support n back our own players who will

There's so much negatively round our players on here at times

Sakala, colak, mcrorie n good enough,

What your expectations messi, mbappe, haaland type esk,

Cause even when guy's do play well still seems a lot a punters on here spouting how bad the are, or no good enough for rangers or fit a system ?

Back our boys, we all have bad
games

But even if i was a newtral
Clear too see on this

we dnt half pull our players down.

57.) 23 Jun 2023 22:15:13
Some are saying a system should be built around Colak and his only job should be to score goals - We’ve tried that. We tried it under GVB who signed the guy and gave him the specific instruction that he remain between the posts. Colak scored goals but the teams overall performance was poor. Rangers couldn’t get results against tougher opposition with Colak often ending games with the least amount of touches of any player on the pitch.

Kris Boyd was a striker just like this. Fantastic at standing in the penalty area and taking chances against poorer teams but against tougher opposition it was like being a man down. Did Walter Smith play Kris Boyd in Europe or against Celtic? No, he would often play someone else who would put a lot more work in.

The modern forward in a lone striker role MUST be able to hold the ball up. They need to be strong, press resistant, and a good passer. This creates time for the rest of the team to get up the pitch and brings others into play. It benefits the team more overall. Rangers had this with peak Morelos and we punched well above our weight in Europe against some quality sides for years.

Beale wants a Morelos type striker. He doesn’t want a Colak type striker. This should be pretty obvious by now. Also, people are saying Bealeks system is unsuccessful but we won pretty much every game we played after he replaced GVB. We lost against Celtic in the head to head games but they simply had better players. We can’t blame Beale for Sakala missing a sitter, a perfectly good Morelos goal being ruled out, Souttar and Davies making individual errors, etc. once we improve the overall ability in our squad we will do better in these games.

58.) 23 Jun 2023 22:45:43
Beale will need to get a system that has Colak playing on the edge of thier box then, i had said he's a very good finisher but i just can't see Beale doing that, but if he stays he'll need to do something so could do, still think he goes but could be wrong.

59.) 23 Jun 2023 23:09:15
If Colak stays he’ll get games against the cannon fodder clubs of the SPFL where we expect to dominate possessions and create constant chances - That's where his goal scoring ability will come in handy. In Europe, against Celtic, and when things aren’t going our way, we’ll need a more well rounded forward.

Strikers with the all round game of Morelos, and the finishing ability of Colak, go for the big bucks. I remember we had a similar situation with Boyd and Miller. One the poacher and the other willing to run all day and chase lost causes. When Rangers signed Jelavic Walter said we had signed a player who could bring us the best of both worlds - A complete forward. I would hope we can find another complete forward, but in the absence of that, we will still need someone who can bully defenses and bring others into play.

60.) 23 Jun 2023 23:18:26
Very good post verdant, he wants Dessers very similar player to Morelos, some say it's them that likes Morelos that don't like Colak, i just see that as very strange, we maybe just know what our manager wants from his cf.

61.) 23 jun 2023 23:32:26
you still don't throw away a goalscorer without having another one, if colak stays he will score goals,

62.) 24 Jun 2023 04:06:37
Another goal scorer will be brought in, Tom.

There’s no doubt Colak would score goals for Rangers. Most strikers would given the amount of chances Rangers generate against the cannon fodder of the SPFL. However, we need the striker to do more than just score goals and that’s the point many seem to be missing. Modern teams play high pressing systems and defending begins from the front. The striker must be hard working, and intelligent enough to know when to engage the press. On the ball the striker needs to able to hold off opposition defenders, be press resistant since they are often outnumbered, be comfortable enough on the ball to play low percentage passes and get the rest of the team up the pitch. He must be able to drop deep and draw out defenders so the wide attackers can exploit the space in behind the CBs. He needs to able to run the channels and interchange with the wide forwards so the opposition can not use a man marking system.

There is a lot more to it than just standing around in the penalty box.

63.) 24 Jun 2023 14:45:54
DoTheBouncy, i'm a morelos fan and always have been and i still like and rate big colak mate ???How does anyone who slags off colak continually on here no for sure that colak will not play for us in the new season within beale's system and score goals? The guy is a lethal finisher and i most definitely would be keeping him and I honestly think we will keep him at least for now ?.

64.) 24 Jun 2023 15:41:26
Beale going to change his system then sws?

65.) 24 Jun 2023 15:52:40
He has already changed his system. Mrph proved yesterday with his own stats that we have scored more goals on average per game playing 41212 than we did playing 4321.

66.) 25 Jun 2023 01:03:31
The 4-1-2-1-2 doesn’t accommodate a poacher though, does it? It had two forwards in the half spaces and Cantwell pulling the strings behind them. So again, where does Colak fit into that? ?‍♂️.

67.) 25 Jun 2023 10:17:47
I never said he did fit into the 41212 that we have been playing did I? I have already explained to you in the post above. I said he should be kept as he will give us a different option, he is a natural goal scorer. For example as many said with Dykes, if we are chasing a game and need a goal. I have posted this above.

68.) 25 Jun 2023 10:38:42
Verdant could very well be changed as we didn't have Kent or Morelos.

69.) 25 Jun 2023 11:02:13
At least we have established we have been playing the 41212 with two forwards and as mrph proved statistically on average we have scored more goals per game playing 41212 than 4321. Maybe MB wanted rid of el coo and kent so we can play something different than the 4321?

20 Aug 2019 20:32:44
Can confirm what was said about Eamon Brophy know his brother Declan well and they know of no interest also they’re big Celtic fans. Apart from that they’re not too bad. 😂.

Kendi

1.) 20 Aug 2019 20:52:02
Declan you say 👀.

2.) 20 Aug 2019 21:52:35

So watched the B team game last night and given this site is about opinions I'll give mine.

Good to see that the playing style is the same all the way throughout the age groups, miss multiple chances to go in front then get a goal against us and at half time decide we want to actually play football. ?? Reminded me of so many 1st team games this season.

There are definitely some decent players but for one Ure I think from what I have heard others say about him is over rated.

Mcausland needs to learn to tame that aggressiveness but I liked to see the right.

Lyall I thought played not bad seen him get stuck in, make some runs and passes.

Rice looks a real talent at only 16 and think he played well.

Lowry is good but at times I feel tries too much.

The Rocco vatta or whatever for them also seemed like a decent talent.

Which brings up a question I suppose, I remember when both of the big 2 here would have at least a decent Scottish contingent within the squad and generally for a quality youngster the progression would be play well for your team for a season or two then go to one of the old firm and then possibly onto the EPL or wherever. This no longer seems to be the case and I feel we don't give our own actual Scottish and homegrown players a chance.

Although I understand this is due to multiple reasons, the talent pool and attitude of youths with him Scotland etc. But do we think we/ Scotland could implement some form of rule which would boost the Scottish game at a grass roots level and allow us to produce better players?

Kendi

1.) 11 May 2023 19:50:45
Kendo good post, I agree re ure, also can’t see mcausland or Fraser making it to regular first team

Problem is clubs I. Scotland not interested in b teams, the route for players to progress.

2.) 11 May 2023 21:41:11
Kensington, let's be honest. We looked good in spells but reality is they have beaten us on all proper age groups.

3.) 12 May 2023 10:53:01
Re the B Team, I thought that Yfenko looked good but is a year or so away from being even near the first team squad. Very rough around the edges and his discipline let him down. Lovelace looks like a good player though. Being honest, I didn't see anyone else that I would consider first team quality any time soon.

4.) 12 May 2023 12:24:20
Have watched a few times now and Lyall has always been a standout, although has only made the bench once, I believe so still miles off the first team. Would agree Ure seems to be a bit rough around the edges. Does he need a loan? Lovelace showed some nice touches and seemed to relish the physical battle with their big CB. Outwith the obvious Lowry, Rice is the only other who seems nailed on to make the first team.

5.) 12 May 2023 23:06:14
Can't in all honesty, dispute this statement. Davie Douglas, you're right, they have beaten us in every group but it is up to us now to stand up and react to that.

I do think we need a better system for bleeding young players with potential into the team.

Although Kensington is a place I believe, and definitely not me.

One thing I definitely expect to see less of is talking rubbish in press conferences etc and doing talking on the park.

09 May 2023 15:49:14
So my thoughts on the coming window and some peoples perceptions.

Think a lot of people think bosman players are somehow sub par, it's all dependant on the player tbh. Remember these days the power is with the player to run down the contract so not all are out of contract due to poor form, attitude or whatever it may be, the club may well want them to stay but they want to go.

I think that we will and should sort out any bosman signings first (in principle at least) preferably before window opens that way we know what we have from that market and what we still need.

I know recruitment the last few years has been very hit and miss. That being said if MB takes a more proactive approach and can get players like cantwell and raskin in then I'm hopeful we can manage. I think we need to get our business done relatively early and get a real good preseason into the team.

Kendi

1.) 09 May 2023 19:21:28
Don’t agree that most think Bosmans are sub par as you call it, Some posters don’t fancy some players that have been linked, that’s called opinion, different take from don’t like Bosmans.

2.) 09 May 2023 22:23:34
Maybe sub par isn't correct but I do sometimes feel people instantly imply a negative connotation when the word bosman is used.

For me Jack Butland and Tom Davies seem like they could be good bosman signings.

That being said, like I would say most on here and most rangers fans as well. I'd like to see us be more proactive in scouting different markets.

I've always thought eastern Europe and Scandinavian type areas are ones we should look at more hopefully we scout well and get some good players in.

Like the sound of this Palma guy his numbers seem decent and allegedly "the best striker of a football in Greece"

08 May 2023 19:27:43
Would love us to sign a jelavic type player I can still remember the season he signed, not often one questions the late great Walter but I remember at the time thinking that's like all our budget on one guy. Well I needn't have bothered worrying he was great in the brief time he was with us.

Think we need to make sure whoever we sign is the type of player to run through wall, leave it all on the pitch type player. Their mental attributes are as important if not more than their technical ones. It's easier to teach technique than it is to instill that hunger, drive, fight and ambition that makes a true rangers player.

Kendi

1.) 08 May 2023 21:09:44
Kendo, great player, we were just saying yesterday wish we could get a prso.

2.) 08 May 2023 21:41:27
Spot on, we need players that have the guts to play for Rangers.
We will win nothing being nice, winners is what we have been missing.
Technical ability is brilliant but meaningless if the hunger to succeed doesn’t drive you. I hope we can find a couple of players with this attribute they will embolden those that maybe don’t.

3.) 08 May 2023 22:51:36
The thing is boys, those players will be out there!

4.) 08 May 2023 23:03:13
Oh aye John big dado was a player. Him Novo and shots. We never had any problems finding the back of the net. Now we can only play with one striker and he could score in a brothel.

5.) 09 May 2023 10:46:38
Also loved big Prso, wasn't the most mobile f men but he performed. Novo loved a wee sub goal didn't he that was a real impact sub in his latter years.

Question bears, if hagi gets back to fitness can we see a role for him next season?

Personally I like him as a player but one who isn't expected to run past players into space often. I think him and Tom Lawrence if fit being that no10 behind the striker could work.

Thoughts?

Kendi i agree hagi is a no.10 all day long and is a very talented footballer who can see a killer pass and equally as good with both feet ?No doubt he does lack pace but play him in his central, natural position and he no doubt has the ability to hurt opposition teams ?
Not to mention he'll score a decent amount of goals and is terrific at free kicks ?.

I think hagi will be used to raise funds if a decent fee can be had for him. I don’t see him as being dynamic enough for what we need to topple Celtic next season.

He's a good finisher that's not in doubt but he's not a 10M player.

I agree with you here John think before he got injured he was one of our better players. Although may be a struggle getting into team now with Hagi back and cantwell coming in.
