I've heard a rumour that tav has demanded 600.000 to compensate for his testimonial if he goes lol get yerself tae, tav.

Laudrup1972

1.) 04 Sep 2024 11:20:37
I don’t believe that at all and the level of the current witch hunt for a player who’s given 9 years of his best service is quite frankly disgusting to me. Tav’s legs are starting to fail him but name me one player who’s played 60+ games for the past few years who’s hasn’t.

He’s been our best player for years and has never hid which he should be commended for not berated because he’s captain of a failing team. He’s been struggling since the start of the year and needs taken out the team at least for a break but the abuse he’s getting is bang out of order at the moment.

2.) 04 Sep 2024 11:29:18
How many fans would actually show up to his testimonial? Read the room Tav!

3.) 04 Sep 2024 12:11:08
Testimonials at Rangers the money should be going to some charity, gone are the days it was used to help with the players future to be fair so would be disappointed if he is going down that route for a reason to get money off the club.

4.) 04 Sep 2024 12:18:45
Yep seen that last week.

5.) 04 Sep 2024 12:29:02
If that's true then he can leave as soon as possible.

6.) 04 Sep 2024 12:32:18
I think John posted this over a week past. I can't see it! As much as I want him gone, I really think this is a vicious rumour with no substance at all.

7.) 04 Sep 2024 12:51:39
John did in fact indicate this regarding Tavernier and his testimonial. Problem is for Tavernier, I can’t see him getting a good turn out the way things are going his only chance of a turnout is if he agrees to donate the proceeds to a worthy charity.

8.) 04 Sep 2024 12:56:56
whether it is true or not I agree with Davidb in that there now is a perpetual witch hunt against him. yea have the opinion that his legs have gone, he can't defend, he is never a captain but this behaviour is uncalled for. Unless like someone suggested yesterday that he is paying PC to play him then he is being chosen as the manager sees hi as his best right back to play the style PC wants.

you may disagree with that as well but until you pass the interview to become the Gers manager you are like me just a fan with an opinion. support the guy for goodness sake and he might actually play better. he had 2 -3 weeks of pre-season he missed so he may not actually be match fit yet and needs minutes to get there.

9.) 04 Sep 2024 13:14:50
As far as I was aware, most testimonial cash goes to the players chosen charity.

10.) 04 Sep 2024 13:18:20
Agree Sunshine. I’ll wait and see.

11.) 04 Sep 2024 13:45:08
Players that have testimonials give money to charity these days and this guy wants it all for himself who will turn up for it?

12.) 04 Sep 2024 13:58:58
I've never been a great fan of Tav as a defender and never thought he should've been made captain however, his defensive frailties aside, he's never shy'd away from anything and given us some fantastic performances and goals we should never forget. To be confronted as he was on Sunday is not something i'm proud of seeing and would hope the majority of our fans were embarrassed by it. I'd be astounded if he demanded anything for himself from a testimonial and would hope he'd be donating everything to a worthy cause.

13.) 04 Sep 2024 14:41:45
Tell you what no matter the outcome of this season and no matter how frustrated I am at the way things turn out I will be there if Tav does have a testimonial because he deserves the appreciation from the fans and I for one am grateful for the service he’s given our club. It’s not his fault he was surrounded by dross for the first few years of his rangers career and also not his fault we’ve never bought adequate backup who can give him a chance to rest instead of just running him into the ground repeatedly. Don’t care what people say he is a player that I will always look fondly upon for the commitment and quality he has given to our club.

McGregor was treated like a legend and given far more leverage in his final year when he was miles off it and gave away numerous goals which cost us loads of points. Let’s not forget he also disappeared for nothing when we were in our darkest time. How about we get off Tavs back and give him some support and encouragement then maybe he’ll repay us for the umpteenth time.

14.) 04 Sep 2024 14:50:03
He has given a lot to the club but as a club we have been to sentimental to many players last 3/ 4 years. He's.

15.) 04 Sep 2024 15:20:04
I hear Rangers have demanded 100k back from Tav for each individual trophy he has failed to deliver over his tenure at the club??so he owes us a few bob.

16.) 04 Sep 2024 15:40:44
Tav bee our best player ?????.

17.) 04 Sep 2024 15:46:18
Hammerite totally agree with the assessment of Tav.
But as another poster said maybe Tav isn’t up to fitness levels yet. My question is why was he playing in a game against Them when we need players to be fit and we could have been playing Sterling at right back and Lawerence in midfield, Or is this another oversight by PC. ?????????.

18.) 04 Sep 2024 15:53:02
Don't believe that at all, its now becoming toxic the whole tav situation and for his own sake he has to be taken out of the firing line ideally he'd get a move away or maybe a loan can be struck before the Turkish window closes next week. BTW if he has a testimonial I. ll be going he's been a great servant and that shouldn't be forgot.

19.) 04 Sep 2024 15:53:26
It's not true.

20.) 04 Sep 2024 16:21:00
Blue Floyd, your comment is an absolute disgrace and you are also a disgrace for making it. It is typical of the way this forum has been souring this past few months.

21.) 04 Sep 2024 16:38:33
Ows a loan is a good shout and feel the club should be looking at all avenues of getting him away for now and that sort of covers him for a testimonial and gets his wage off our books for a season.

22.) 04 Sep 2024 16:43:42
He wanted money to donate it to charity not for him.

23.) 04 Sep 2024 16:45:18
Hubby - humour is obviously lost on you or are we not allowed to make light out of darkness.

24.) 04 Sep 2024 16:59:35
That’s at least a good thing John.

25.) 04 Sep 2024 17:57:40
Newman. Is this the same Lawrence who lots on here said didn't have the legs to play against them and the same Sterling who lots on here said wanted to play in midfield to give us legs to play against them. manager can't win no matter who he picks so he needs to pick who he sees as best.

26.) 04 Sep 2024 21:29:53
I do get a bit tired with how negative our supporter base can be. I know it's been a poor result, and no one likes losing to them, but the never ending witch hunt against Tav and the general negativity from fan media on players, manger, eveyone, etc. is tiresome. For whatever reason. And I don't think it's a great advert for potential players, managers etc.

27.) 04 Sep 2024 21:35:36
Hubby there is nothing wrong whatsoever with what blue floyd said lighten up.

28.) 04 Sep 2024 23:43:29
I have been a massive Tav backer since day one, his technical ability on the ball is undeniable (even for the biggest doubters the stats don’t lie in terms of goals and assists) . But now is definitely the time for him to move on before he tarnishes his reputation any further. We have more cover at rb than we’ve ever had, Sterling, Kasawanjiro, Balgon, Barron, King and Devine can all play there. Time to say thank you and good night.

29.) 05 Sep 2024 00:24:57
Angus off course Sterling Should have been RB I couldn’t think of any other MF apart from Lawerence and Tav shouldn’t been playing at all, Unfortunately he is not the player he once was. ?????????.

30.) 05 Sep 2024 01:59:22
I think we can all agree he does not deserve the level of abuse he has been getting. I also think we can all agree that this will be tabs last season at ibrox.

31.) 05 Sep 2024 11:56:00
will his testimonial be V Wigan, Gateshead or Carlisle?

05 Feb 2024 12:16:30
Just read an article saying beale tried to sign cifuentes on deadline day it said he rang him up and got a knock back dunno if its true.

Laudrup1972

1.) 05 Feb 2024 19:50:59
Beal knocked it back because he remembered he couldn't look in his eyes ??.

2.) 06 Feb 2024 09:08:57
Apparently he lost his number in the dressing room.

3.) 06 Feb 2024 15:43:55
I had high expectations from cifu
Our leaugue simply wasn’t for him
It was all hyped up as usual then ………………….
Well he’s away.

4.) 06 Feb 2024 18:38:14
Always said he was a yard slow in his legs and in his head.
Good luck to the lad.

5.) 06 Feb 2024 18:41:14
Boo, ? i was buzzing for cifu myself, was a major anti climax man. Can only hope the new dof n the game have has a better eye for a player, am confident they do but ye can never tell this early.

6.) 07 Feb 2024 03:08:51
Think cifuentes made best decision with his countries tournament on horizon can only be good for us and the player.

7.) 07 Feb 2024 08:45:45
I would have preferred him to go down south, as I think a good loan spell would really increase his market value. Fair play to the guy if he goes to Brazil though, it must be a massive culture shock moving over here, and as long as we don't lose money on him I'll be happy (oh and put a good sell on % in there's as I think he has something about him) .

8.) 07 Feb 2024 08:58:04
its only a loan! he's still got a chance. too many right off too soon on here.

31 Jan 2024 20:22:21
Jefte deal off now.

Laudrup1972

1.) 31 Jan 2024 21:16:56
Well at least we know now that Yilmaz isn't going anywhere in this transfer window.

2.) 31 Jan 2024 21:43:20
I wasn't overly worried about left back position in all honesty, but when I watched clips I thought I really liked the look of him, I presumed borna or ridvan would be away but since they are not I think we should be ok, only worry would be if he plays exceptionally well his stock will rise come June.

3.) 31 Jan 2024 22:09:10
Did we know for a fact Yilmaz was going to be going out and not Borna ? I've got a feeling the Jefte deal could still come off this window.

4.) 31 Jan 2024 22:24:44
Not bothered about this need striker though.

5.) 31 Jan 2024 23:13:22
Will replace barisic in summer. No big deal.

19 Nov 2023 22:49:49
It seems to have went very quiet on the souness job anyone heard anything lately.

Laudrup1972

1.) 20 Nov 2023 07:29:31
Not heard, but can't imagine the board will have taken his comments on talksport a few weeks ago too well.

Sometimes, of all people, he should know when to shut his mouth. Especially about modern football.

2.) 20 Nov 2023 10:27:23
Not in his nature to keep his mouth shut. Has a very high opinion of himself does Mr Souness, great and all as he was for us.

3.) 20 Nov 2023 13:08:35
I think he blew it with the Frank Lampard stuff on Talksport . How can we involve him if we can`t trust him to keep the internal workings of the club, secret.

4.) 20 nov 2023 15:21:21
not sure ge gave any club secrets away mate, or the club internal workings, far as i know he only said his choice was lampard, when asked,

5.) 20 nov 2023 15:25:59
im nit sure who or when, and as john says i hope fox isn't involved but I've long since got the feeling something very big will occur with rangers, maybe nit in my time of course but I've just felt we are ripe for a new direction, we are very very big across the states and canada and i believe at sone point major sports investors are going to decide we are a better deal than what's left in the english prem, where you can lose multi millions very quickly indeed, its only my thoughts of course, getting treatment today so maybe my minds wandering,

6.) 20 Nov 2023 16:34:57
Wishing you all the best with your treatment today Tom.

7.) 20 Nov 2023 19:40:27
TT12, I`m not saying that he did give the workings of the club away what I`m saying is that by revealing his discussions on the interview process would raise doubts about whether he would go on radio and blurt out things that he had been involved with. He`s a bit of a media figure now rather than a club official.

8.) 21 Nov 2023 09:49:56
Souness is way way passed it. Amazing man but totally out of touch in football. Good God he thought Bellingham was overrated only months ago and Maddison was twice the player! Enough said.

9.) 21 Nov 2023 16:59:22
Again being critical of a guy a year later after move to Madrid worked out

I'm pretty sure souness would be looking at German league compared to prem and the amount of midfield players that have flopped from Germany to England

Mikhtarian
Sancho
Havertz
Kagawa

And sure there is plenty more.

10.) 21 Nov 2023 16:59:59
For me the attitude of Bellingham is what makes him a class player seems a very positive lad and thankful for what he has.

01 Oct 2023 21:36:00
Beale bringing in big balogun was just to give his mate a wage. another mistake but not baloguns fault beale thought he could be a 1 man band it was his downfall.

Laudrup1972

1.) 01 Oct 2023 22:23:25
Balogun wasn't his worst mistake! At least the guy will give 100% for the jersey.
So far the problem is the players that cost us money are the failures.

2.) 01 Oct 2023 22:36:05
Balogun is the least of my worries regarding the signings tbh 1 year deal probably on low wages. Dessers has 3 and a half years left on his deal and the fee involved has been one of the worst signings I can remember. He’s the one who’s ultimately got the manager sacked. Could see almost straight away he wasn’t good enough and Beale stuck with him for way too long. The chances he missed this weekend basically put the final nail in Beales coffin.

3.) 01 Oct 2023 23:51:06
Leon is a decent back up was never brought in to be a starter.

4.) 02 Oct 2023 01:20:50
Would still rather have Balogun on the field than Davies. He was probably one of the better signings we made this year.

5.) 02 Oct 2023 01:29:02
Bit harsh on Balogun. Was brought in on year deal that's not costing us the world to be a back ip player as young King got injured. I don't think he willbplay much but I also don't think he will let us down if called upon.

1i knew it wouldn't take long for lundstram to get found out in turkey just like kent did lots of players look great in our rubbish league.

Laudrup1972

1.) 08 Sep 2024 16:54:15
poor john and ryan at least they will be able to hold their clubs to ransom like they did us, they won't be short of money.

2.) 08 Sep 2024 17:11:09
He was decent on our run to the EL final to be fair.

3.) 08 Sep 2024 17:19:22
Their attitude at Rangers at times meant they would struggle in Turkey.

4.) 08 Sep 2024 17:36:24
I would challenge the opinions folks, I don't think Kent or Lundstrum had bad attitudes and never held the club to ransom. I will stand corrected, what's the general consensus umongst the folks in the know.

5.) 08 Sep 2024 19:23:16
Rather than an attitude problem, I think Kent just lacked talent.

6.) 08 Sep 2024 19:30:37
Held the club to ransom in what sense? Our fans are bitter beyond belief at times.

7.) 08 Sep 2024 20:29:04
Running down the contract isn’t holding the club to ransome, that’s what we done with Brian Laudrup. If we didn’t want them to leave we should have sold them earlier. This happens all the time with Bosmans so I don’t see why we should be exempt. It was just poor decision making from Rangers that cost us.

8.) 08 Sep 2024 21:19:41
There's a media outlet saying PC likes him and could he try to bring him back on loan.

9.) 08 Sep 2024 21:20:56
Both attitudes stank shown by the drop off in form both had.

10.) 08 Sep 2024 22:28:33
OWS, so what you are saying is a drop in form equals a stinking attitude? Have a lie down.

11.) 08 Sep 2024 22:54:37
Tbh, never liked both, liverpool
Saw us coming with Kent and Lundstrom was always better near contract renewal time. and i'm glad they moved on.

12.) 09 Sep 2024 12:15:45
Would take both back in a heartbeat. Kent is miles better than any winger we`ve had since he left and we are crying out for someone to control midfield like Lundstram does.

07 Sep 2024 20:35:13
Just switched on to holland v Bosnia within 30 secs big katic went down injured lol even ex players still getting injured we are an injury curse to players.

Laudrup1972

04 Sep 2024 05:43:46
Guys know what I find funny and I say it also we are all saying tav should get to **** he's done he can't run or defend which is true we also say if we can all see it why can't PC the funny part is we then think some other manager who probably does see it will buy him ?.

Laudrup1972

1.) 04 Sep 2024 06:36:16
Somebody would buy him but the problem is his wages that’s why we can’t get rid of him.

2.) 04 Sep 2024 08:38:04
Dont need to sell him, just drop him to the bench but he cannot play in certain games that's for sure.

If Tav loves the club then he would step down.

3.) 04 Sep 2024 08:39:20
How do you know it is his wages? Trabzonspor wanted to buy him but our price wasn't met so I suspect that they didn't get to speak to him. The fact that we are trying to cut our wage bill seems to have developed into because some are paid highly that no-one else will be able to pay it. How about Goldson and Cantwell. so either others will pay higher wages or a package which matches. There is also a difference between a fan thinking he is done, can't run, can't defend and a professional looking at the player and seeing him differently.

4.) 04 Sep 2024 09:58:38
Angus just because we want players to go doesn't mean we should give them away. Tav has a value like every player if any club don't meet it that's there problem.

5.) 04 Sep 2024 10:00:28
Goldson and Cantwell both took pay cuts. Yeah that difference is delusion, he absolutely can't run or defend. His testimonial is the problem and his wages are why we want him off the wage bill.

6.) 04 Sep 2024 10:56:36
Yes I know OWS. what ~I am saying is it wasn't his wages which stopped the move it was us not accepting their bid. so unless a bid is accepted they don't get to discus terms. so saying the problem is his wages is just speculation based perhaps on the fact that we are trying to get rid of some of our highest earners. a case of 2 + 2 = 5.

7.) 04 Sep 2024 10:57:15
Testimonials are nothing without fans paying for tickets does tav think for a mmminute he's gonnae hold us to ransom then expect 50.000 fans at a testimonial (aye right )

8.) 04 Sep 2024 11:00:54
here is a different take on it RayGer. Tav mentioned his testimonial to show he was still committed to the club after all this time and not that he was looking forward to the money. most players these days give some or all of that money to charity anyway I believe. players were told they could leave if a valuation was met and we know Trabzpnspor didn't meet that. However Cantwell went to BR even though his valuation wasn't met so someone at club decided they wanted to keep Tavs despite his wages. not sure how any of that is Tavs fault.

9.) 04 Sep 2024 11:55:28
You're right Angus that is a different take.

03 Sep 2024 13:54:05
We used to sign players who wa ted to play in old firm games now all we do is sign players who rubbish themselves as soon as you mention old firm starting with that excuse of a captain weare making players like greg taylor and liam scales look like 30 million pound players.

Laudrup1972

1.) 03 Sep 2024 17:08:44
Koppen’s hands are tied behind his back . The Manager demands new signings, the Board backs the Manager but there are no funds to pay a fee for player and Koppen is forced to buy a player irrespective of his ability.

It’s only a couple of seasons ago when despite whatever financial crisis the Celtic accountants tell us regularly, we could always find money to get at least some of the players manager wanted. That money isn’t available this window and hence Koppen has a very difficult task.

Laudrup1972

He is.

2.) 01 Sep 2024 23:02:17
