Was speaking to a fellow fan today. He said he heard from someone manager is agreed behind the scenes already but didn't have a name. Also said he had heard as many as 12 new players will come in one for each position with some of the players we have atm making up the squad after basicly everyone is put up for sale out with raskin iga and unfortunately tav. Probably just chat he's had and not any inside info this time of year we all hear all sorts tbh.

I do think we need to knock this takeover on the head and decide not to go ahead with it. If these guys can't keep their mouths shut and stop blabbing the manager news and who we are going to keep and get rid off with players then we surely don't want to be owned by such an unprofessional outfit.

So if we sell the likes of Dowell (likely), Cifu (potentially), Davies (potentially) and Matondo (unlikely) then we wouldn't look to replace them.

Agreed Tav should leave when his contact expires with a testimonial. Loyal, hard working pro on and off the pitch. Never hides and is always available. Has captianed the team through thick and thin, various manangers, Promoption to the SPL, stopped the 10, EL final, SC LC and outragous goal return. If he was in one of our better teams in years gone by he would have the honours in numbers, he is just unlucky like a few of our better palyers he came in when he did. One of the greatest attacking fullbacks the Scotalnd has ever seen.

I'm going have a well educated guess and also predict that things are looking up about transfers. I would also guess that we have been working on targets for a while. I would also be confident to say that we will sign players who are out of contract. We will sign players on loan and for transfer fees. I am also confident that we will address the problem positions, couple of CB's, CM's, ST and wingers.

Muscatin players from Scotland have always wanted to better themselves down south and there has been a steady stream going down so this isn't a new phenomenon. However it is a two way street if you look at the number of English or English sourced players up here.
re ownership Scotland requires a much lower initial investment with the route to European money being easier for clubs; look at how long it has taken Wrexham to when players sold down there are a success means more confidence that the players up here will be successful for our player trading model. also other up and coming players more likely to want to sue the same route to the EPL riches.

Our clubs are a mess and for 'cartels' (I use that word carefully again) like the 49ers we're a licence to print money.
The ops review is being carried out by a firm connected to the 49ers, the recruitment form we're using is connected to the 49ers and I'm sure our sponsorship/ marketing deals will be connected to the 49ers.
I'd also be surprised if NEH isn't purchased by a company connected to the 49ers and when the infrastructure improvements start - again I'm sure they'll be delivered by organisations within the group.

I wonder if it was what was planned. We played a diamond which was to stop their midfield playing and Celtic invert their FBs more so they come into midfield.
Also It was Ralston who came into that space and he may not have done it if it was Johnston as he is effective going forward. it also seemed to concentrate a little more on RHS where they had Maeda and Taylor, which makes sense. with a diamond you do have to give up space out wide and it is tiring for the two in the middle of it. whether it was the right tactic is a matter of opinion but leaving Ralston free didn't really hurt us too much.

Raskin is 17m plus 3m in add ons as a starting point. But if the new owners were the ones doing the buying they can accept whatever they want. ill repeat if he's sold for under what he's worth to the club to leeds people will get on the new boards back already. If they are serious about making Rangers the best club in scotland again starting by selling the best midfielder in scotland this season to there other club at a cut price then i for one will need a lot of convincing we are going to just become a feeder club for leeds.
All that being said i don't see us selling raskin for the mentioned 13m price.

So let me get this straight: if the club sell a player for less than you think he is worth then there would be trouble especially if it were to another club they own. . it makes no sense for them to sell a player under market value to anyone as it doesn't benefit the European quest of one of their clubs and they would make much more than the £4 million difference in price by us being in Europe.
it could be £13 M is what the club thinks he is worth and it may also be that is the price that clubs are willing to pay.

Totally agree muscatin, Celtic sold players like oreily, jota, tierney all for 25m. Players like edouard ajaer and dembele between 10-18m. Raskin I will say is as good as any of them in my opinion and will ultimately do better than all of them in his career. The difference their players were league winners in a time it was a one horse race, the fact james forrest is now all time trophy winner for Celtic says it all. We must build a team around raskin but if 25m offer comes it would be very hard for new owners to turn down but if they did then that shows great commitment from them.

My point isn't what he is worth my point is that the fans seem to think they know how this works based on what Celtic get for their players. Getting one cap for Belgium doesn't automatically raise your transfer price but getting into further squads and playing well would. OReilly was a better (and different) player at the time Celtic sold them and someone was willing to pay the price (assuming that was the price the press quoted) so to quote him as an example is just silly. Engels cost £11M yes so would that not tell you what Raskin might be worth is closer to that.
One thing though is that if he is sold for a pricer it is what the buying club is willing to pay and what we are willing to accept. It would be silly for the 49ers to sell lower than what he is 'worth' as it sets a precedent for clubs bidding low for future players. It would be a business decision though for the benefit of our club and not Leeds.
