Ive been told now that we will only sign a maximum of 3 players with last years players being given a chance to make there Rangers carer a thing to be proud of instead of what its been already.
I was told this is because with all our kit deals and sponsor deals running for a good few years still there's not much big investment can happen from the new board until they can get all there own sponsors and kit maker.
And that its a multi year project and as scottish football isn't that fruitful in terms of funds it could take 2 or 3 seasons before we see the real vision of our new board.
Could anyone like ehl let us know if this is infact anywhere near true?
i'm actually hoping this is just nowhere near the case.
1.) 19 Jun 2025 15:18:23
Who ever told you must be having a laugh mustcat, or you talking about before our European game? Cameron is in need a cb and rw drastically.
2.) 19 Jun 2025 15:22:45
Been told this from where?
3.) 19 Jun 2025 15:23:33
The club are so tight lipped these days i can't see any info like that getting out. Also will all depends who comes in for our players.
4.) 19 Jun 2025 15:23:47
The only way we will find out will be on deadline day when the squad for 2025/ 26 is complete
I think guys like EHL and John have all said, barring a few open spots in the squad right now, it's going to be one in, one out til the end of the window
As EHL has said, if anyone goes, we already have a replacement lined up, remember we still have about 30 players on the books
There's going to be lots going out, Russel Martin has got to navigate early games, so he is being smart in what he is saying
He may need some players who may be on there way out to help him out in the short term
Personally if someone like Cifuentes or Ben Davies comes back and slots into a different system really well, then I would love to see that, but not sure that's going to happen.
5.) 19 Jun 2025 15:25:25
When you consider that we beat the other lot last year and our great need is to sort out how we deal with other teams in the SPL it's not all doom and gloom. Sort out the domestic form and we have much better chance of taking some silverware and potentially even the league. Things can change here much quicker than many suspect, especially with the new backroom team bringing real professionalism into the way we do things.
However, I really am a bit worried with Europe this year. I do hope I'm wrong, but it's looking pretty challenging from the get go. Especially with us going from a standing start. If we can get past Panathanaikos then things will look up markedly on the European front, but that is certainly not a gimme.
WATP, Let's go!
6.) 19 Jun 2025 15:26:16
Hopefuly that's just the defence that we are signing 3 for lol.
7.) 19 Jun 2025 15:29:07
Hopefully not or your negativity is going to break all records.
8.) 19 Jun 2025 15:29:48
I would doubt this is the case. we have already lost 6 players and while some are returning they were deemed not good enough and needed off the wage bill. I do think it will largely depend on how much we raise from transfers out and won't be as big a rebuild as we hope. We also don't have the players to suit the managers system so think we need more than that who can play how he likes.
9.) 19 Jun 2025 15:38:25
Well we can kiss goodbye to a league for several years if it's only 3 signings. We've lost cerny hagi and kasa also nalogun that's 4 we must replace. Davies dowell cifu won't improve our team. Massive mistake if true.
10.) 19 Jun 2025 15:39:22
I'd be crushed if we only bring in 3 players, but if that's the case that's what we go with, maybe a new manager and new style may suit the players we have a whole lot better, just need to wait and see, with great anticipation I may add.
11.) 19 Jun 2025 15:40:20
There is going to be more than 3 you have said stop listening to fake news.
12.) 19 Jun 2025 15:50:00
Mustcat-IN2 …. out 3 lol.
13.) 19 Jun 2025 16:00:51
My star this would be above and beyond cameron who is more a hagi replacement than anything else.
2 cbs and a winger who can play both sides.
It doesn't matter who told me that's my business and stuff like that question is part of the new annoying part of this page.
Going by what's been said about 1 in 1 out if people actually wernt just on here to dig at others and took a moment to think about it another 3 in doesn't sound far fetched at all.
Our problem last season was defence
2 commanding cbs and were already looking stronger than last season.
Cameron should add goals from the middle of the park.
If martin can get the best out of what we have then realisticly we don't really need a whole load of players in.
14.) 19 Jun 2025 16:02:32
So we've brought in a manager who plays wingers (when we don't have any wingers just now) and we're only singing 3 players? We need at least 2 wingers!
15.) 19 Jun 2025 16:03:14
I would imagine this is if zero players leave as we have a nearly full squad. Chances of no players leaving would be next to nothing so chances of only 3 coming in would also be negligible.
While other fans get upset at the idea of this it shows good long term strategic planning for me. Much rather we do this than get in massive wage deficits which means going forward we have zero flexibility in transfers. This was literally the strategy of the last board which brought us little success.
Are fans really wanting us to continue doing what we have been doing, because I don't understand that at all.
16.) 19 Jun 2025 16:04:13
Kaiser a good manager uses the players he has and makes a system to to suit the players and from what's been said about martin that's very much what he might do.
17.) 19 Jun 2025 16:08:09
That sounds like the type of news u should be ignoring.
18.) 19 Jun 2025 16:18:06
So were only going to have Cortes and one other winger mustcat you believe away mate.
19.) 19 Jun 2025 16:18:52
Muscat, Makes sense the new board want to get the club finances stabilised and the player trading model operating with significant profits coming in, we have wasted a lot of money over the past 3/ 4 seasons and let way too many players walk on free's or for well below their value, 4 manager 4 squad rebuilds, squads value has been decreasing since for years, we had a sduad valued around 170 million when Gerrard won the league during the unbeaten season, the squads current value is around 70 million, Celtic on the other hand werewell below our squads value and are now twice the value of our current squad, hence the reason why we have been playing catchup since Gerrard moved on.
Can't see us having much of a budget unless a few of the quality younger players and some of the older ones that have value along with the unwanted loaned out players are moved on.
seem like a lot of fans had the wild notion that because it was the 49ers taking over we would suddenly have a huge transfer budget to bring in world class players, but those days ended with Murray and the 70 million transfer kittys a season when we were matching some of the top clubs in the world for transfer budgets, we all know how that turned out when we were demoted to the lowest league possible in scotland after the player wage scandal was revealed.
20.) 19 Jun 2025 16:20:08
Something to consider with regards to the kit deals etc.
The current manufacturers/ sponsors were all awarded the contracts as they offered the best commercial value.
I'm not sure how our ownership model changes this?
Also, as part of Uefa cost control rules, you can only include income that meets fair market value requirements - so if the implication is that we could self sponsor, then this wouldn't impact funding for the playing squad.
On the transfer front - can't really add anything to Sydney's post.
21.) 19 Jun 2025 16:27:45
Our problem was a keeper flapping and CB's that couldn't stick their nut on a cross, also full backs who could not stop crosses so aye sort the defence . Btw is it Coady really or Harry Soutar that is wanted from Leicester, they have a few, maybe Coady has been a guess by those that don't know much and type with a toffee hammer in a frantic fashion, there are no sources or leaks to possible sources. Smart people have tried, dumplings just guess and kid on re sources.
22.) 19 Jun 2025 16:43:41
Deboer matondo is a winger cortes is a winger we have young players who are also wingers so please explain how we have no wingers.
23.) 19 Jun 2025 16:44:08
Not for 1 second do I beleive these daft stories that come out. As if big thelwell is kicking about telling people his tranny business man. Come on.
24.) 19 Jun 2025 16:45:40
I'd say that isn't out of the question muscatin, although personally I'd like to see a few more bodies come in. With the four that you mentioned leaving plus Lawrence and then potentially davies cifu dowell I'd like 4 or 5 in and to see Rice and Curtis etc start to get more minutes.
25.) 19 Jun 2025 16:52:18
If that is the case Martin will be out the door for Xmas no manager on earth can possibly improve that current squad they are simply not good enough and with our fan base the yanks will be getting it tight as well twelve had to many false dawns and the fans are sick and tired off being taken for mugs.
26.) 19 Jun 2025 17:03:15
Muscat what young players are wingers? were are not going into next season with Cortes, Matondo and one other, he plays 2 wingers.
27.) 19 Jun 2025 17:04:15
Musctcat, I've been visiting this page for about 14 years and I can guarantee people asking who you got your information from isn't anything new!
I don't have a source or anybody feeding me nonsense but I'd suspect by the end of the window we'll have about 8-10 new players in the squad.
28.) 19 Jun 2025 17:07:29
I was told once by a Nigerian prince he'd give me $1 million if I sent him 1k.
29.) 19 Jun 2025 17:24:55
Spot on muscat, defence would also be my priority. Would not only shore things up, it would also massively help the rest of the team.
30.) 19 Jun 2025 18:04:44
Muscat no half decent winger he means i think. Matondo is rotten.
31.) 19 Jun 2025 18:21:44
Muscat if you think we will win trophies with Matondo and Cortes then you've been injecting deludamol.
I should have said then 'decent' wingers who actually PLAY!
32.) 19 Jun 2025 18:44:45
So everything isn't Rosey sydney?
33.) 19 Jun 2025 18:52:49
Where do i mention winning trophies with them? Why start being a complete disrespectful wee boy about it? Grow up. get a grip. and please done comment on any of my posts again.
34.) 19 Jun 2025 18:55:47
Im going to join the others in not posting what I've heard on here again. there are far too many disrespectful neds who jump down people's throats every other post completely unneeded and uncalled for and honestly something that's killing this page.
35.) 19 Jun 2025 19:01:46
If we are only adding 2 or 3 to that squad we might as well hand the title to the other mob . We have lost our best defender in Balogun and our most creative player in Cerny and we think a new manager can bring back in failures like Davies, Dowell and Matondo and have a successful season. Ibrox will be half empty by Christmas, Martin will be gone and Ferguson will be back in charge.
36.) 19 Jun 2025 19:25:33
I don't believe this way all and how come the person that told you this never told you who new manager was?
There is next to nothing getting out from ibrox with the new owners.
37.) 19 Jun 2025 19:29:35
Muscat it's not new, people asking about sources has happened for years.
38.) 19 Jun 2025 19:41:03
Matondo, McCausland - neither good enough and what makes anyone think rm can get a tune out of players pc couldn't or bf or mb or gio? They all lost there jobs because too many players they trusted simply aren't good enough and I'd bet. my last if we go with the majority of players at the club then RM will ve out if a job by December.
39.) 19 Jun 2025 20:09:45
Muscat - look at the stats for both players.
Matondo needs to be sold to get him off the wage bill.
Cortes was it 10 appearances season 2024/ 25?
We need to sign a RW to replace Cerny, and.
40.) 20 Jun 2025 00:47:33
Truth is nobody knows July 1st they could open the check book for all we know or buy nobody lol.
41.) 20 Jun 2025 01:18:10
@EHL I've no reason to doubt what you are saying and to be honest it's not a route I want the club to go down, as ultimately it's not sustainable. However, if those are indeed the rules then how come many clubs in other leagues can effectively self-sponsor to boost revenues? Ie a few clubs in EFL? It's because it's not that difficult to make self-sponsorship appear to come from 3rd party, although admittedly much easier when state owned, but still, possible.
But as I say, not a route I would like is to go down, merely pointing out that the rules are not as black and white as they appear, open to challenge yes but always grey ?.
42.) 20 Jun 2025 02:44:53
@struthsboat
Thanks for the dig mate, It's good to see your continual jabbing
Like many on an open fans forum I'm merely passing on good info from one ex player who is very close to our club at various levels, someone I can now call a mate and someone who doesn't mind me sharing certain things we chat through
I've never once mentioned i'm a journalist or someone ITK so not sure why your having these little digs
Is this not a site for like minded fans to share and debate their thoughts and information or are we going to shut down everyone who wants to contribute?
43.) 20 Jun 2025 07:10:09
Albertz.
The Uefa cost cutting rules are actually that black and white.
Just to point out they don't prevent self sponsorship, or even restrict it - they just adjust it when it comes to their calculations.
Which is a good thing.
17 Jun 2025 21:13:56
Based on rumours and general chat on here next season could look like
Butland
Souttar
Coady
Nsiala
Aarons
Raskin
Diomande
Cameron
Toffolo
Vardy
Igamane
Or potentially
Butland
Aarons
Coady
Souttar
Toffolo
Raskin
Diomande
Cameron
Cortes
Turgeman
Poku
Both decent team in all honesty but defos need more to catch that lots point totals.
1.) 17 Jun 2025 23:28:45
Think you could actually see the back 3 look more like Tav, Coady, Souttar/ Nsiala with more signings to come. But definitely looking like positive upgrades and I think Jefte could learn a lot from Toffolo if we can move Ridvan on.
2.) 18 Jun 2025 00:00:08
That central defence seriously depresses me ?.
3.) 18 Jun 2025 00:06:20
Someone has been playing too much Champ Manager.
4.) 18 Jun 2025 01:05:35
I'm not a rocket scientist, but I can hazard a guess, that the above selections may look very different come our first competitive game
There's an awful lot going on in the background
Just want to also pose a question, if we sign two RBs, would James Tavernier then want to leave? Or would he stick around and drain a massive wage?
My bets on option 2.
5.) 18 Jun 2025 02:19:29
I think the latter. He refused to leave last year so do t think that has changed any, in fact probably quite the opposite being a year older.
6.) 18 Jun 2025 02:23:24
Think he would stick around for his testimonial.
7.) 18 Jun 2025 05:58:44
This idea of a testimonial is nonsense. we need to do away with it completely.
8.) 18 Jun 2025 06:26:09
Muscat, I'm not sure we need more than that to match their points. Remember it was teams like Motherwell, hibs, St mirren we dropped points against last season. We don't need to sign a team of superstars to beat those teams. We need players with the right attitude, because they all have enough ability, even the team last season had the ability. They just lacked the correct mentality.
9.) 18 Jun 2025 06:38:56
Erch I've never played champ man in my life what utter dribble are you talking
10.) 18 Jun 2025 08:27:10
He ain't leaving the mighty Gers.
11.) 18 Jun 2025 08:34:07
I agree, option 2 for Tav. He ain't going anywhere in his testimonial yearunless he gets a golden handshake. ?£££££¢.
12.) 18 Jun 2025 10:13:17
Why would Tav move if he wants to stay and fight for his place. I did read he had held a gun to the board's head and forced them to give him that length and value of contract. stop blaming the player he is the last one to blame for this.
13.) 18 Jun 2025 10:49:54
We need a rb signed but can't see Tavernier going.
14.) 18 Jun 2025 11:24:48
We already have 2 RBs signed star, James Tavernier (next seasons captain) and Dujon Sterling.
The CB positions are much more important with souttar out of contract next season, Propper not good enough, Kasa back to Feyennord, the only CB we have signed up longterm at the moment in Nsiala.
Wingers and Centrebacks is where we have been lacking for far too long and that needs to be addresses this pre season if we are to challenge Celtic again and have a good run in europe.
we will get found out in the champions league qualifiers if we don;t fix the key areas that have cost us last few seasons.
15.) 18 Jun 2025 11:34:42
Sterling is injured LH, we need a rb signed, Tavernier will be the captain is he's playing.
16.) 18 Jun 2025 11:47:36
Laudruphagi dujon sterling is set to be out for a very long time is he not?
17.) 18 Jun 2025 12:04:53
6-12 months recovery period?
18.) 18 Jun 2025 13:26:39
Don't fancy a back 3 of Tav, Coady and Souttar, doesn't inspire me at all . Playing a right sided player on the left of a back 3 never works even big Leon struggled when he was played there.
09 Jun 2025 21:07:20
Ehl or john are you hearing anything about ooc players who have agreed to join? I've just had a chat and the fellow fan reckons we will sign 5 ooc players and use the funds we can generate via new owners and player sales to sign 3 or 4 higher quality experienced players than we've been used to over the last few years and a maximum of 2 prospects. sounds good to me tbh but its more his opinion rather than facts i feel.
1.) 09 Jun 2025 21:39:25
Muscatin iv heard 3 ooc will be in for start of pre season.
2.) 09 Jun 2025 21:51:25
Made a great deal of sense for me, 5/ 6 ooc, 2/ 3 loans to buy, cash spent on 2/ 3 quality signings.
3.) 09 Jun 2025 21:52:13
Young talent loan to buy.
4.) 09 Jun 2025 21:58:46
Im sure john said that a few days ago also walter 2 scottish one not so that being said including cameron that would be 4 so possibly another one or 2 to come in and agreed my star loan to buy on young talent is probably the best way to go and use money here and now for the experience we have been crying out for.
5.) 09 Jun 2025 22:22:29
A lot happening, we will see ooc, fees, loans.
6.) 09 Jun 2025 22:28:45
Muscat, there's so much happening in terms of potential ins and out.
Only thing I can say is we're in a very strong place and it's going to be pretty hectic.
7.) 10 Jun 2025 00:40:08
Hopefully ehl ? ?.
8.) 10 Jun 2025 00:56:01
Plenty OOC coming up for us next 2 seasons onwards, unless we sell or extend?
2026: James Tavernier, John Souttar, Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies, Liam Kelly, Robbie Fraser, Kieran Dowell.
2027: Nicolas Raskin, Rıdvan Yılmaz, Cyriel Dessers, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Cifuentes, Ross McCausland.
2028: Danilo, Mohamed Diomandé, Connor Barron, Jefté.
2029: Hamza Igamane.
Plenty work to be done on the squad and in the transfer market over the next 2 seasons.
14 players contracts will be expiring.
9.) 10 Jun 2025 01:29:51
Great insight @laudrup makes more sense now the Souttar rumours, if he's unwilling to sign a new deal then time to let him go
Of the that list in players entering final year only other red flag is Kelly, he is a good back up IMO
All players listed as entering their final 2 years imo will either sign extended deals or be sold regardless how many goals they've scored.
10.) 10 Jun 2025 05:56:52
Kelly is one I would like to see stay as great keeper between the sticks for either back up or cup runs.
He has been fairly solid for us at times.
11.) 10 Jun 2025 07:37:00
Kelly is nowhere near good enough for Rangers. Nowhere near!
12.) 10 Jun 2025 14:01:00
Don't know if Soapy will fit Martin's style, I like him others not so much but I've never seen a defender block as many shots in my life as the big man, one of the reasons we done well in Europe was down to him, would like to see a lot more go before him but understandable on the year left situation we can't let anyone run contract down.
13.) 10 Jun 2025 15:25:09
Kelly is a good back up keeper nothing else .
14.) 10 Jun 2025 15:46:14
Agree G dog. Kelly is just an ordinary keeper. Not that step up we expect for a Rangers team. Back up at best. Butland is also overrated and a nervous wreck. Oh for a Kloss or a Goram. We need better.
09 Jun 2025 11:02:20
Being spoken about that we've dropped interest in camara from psg because Russell Martin wants other players instead of him. honestly i'm starting to think this is going to set us back AGAIN. Players like camara are exactly what we should be looking for instead we will get championship cast offs yet again.
1.) 09 Jun 2025 11:48:54
That's not what was said, it was suggested that he was a player that the old board had interest in but the new owners are not interested, doesn't appear to be to do with Martin. And anyway it's likely all just journalist guesses anyway. Who knows if we were interested at all, or if we now actually aren't anymore?.
2.) 09 Jun 2025 11:49:56
There's very little known about a youth player that has potential only at this stage of his career and you're panicking due to rumours RM doesn't want him.
3.) 09 Jun 2025 12:00:41
I have no faith in this. Kamara is exactly what we should be signing not over priced overhyped championship players. Yes the jury's out, but if we keep tav as captain and do most of our shopping in the championship, we are taking a step backwards not forward.
Koppen had it right with some of these young talents from abroad, n they ain't over priced, or inflated just like young premiership or championship players because it's England my opinion
.
4.) 09 Jun 2025 12:14:06
The manager might know better than anyone else at the club re signings, quite possibly one of the reasons why they brought him in.
5.) 09 Jun 2025 12:14:47
Camara who nobody has seen play is exactly what we need.
6.) 09 Jun 2025 12:18:00
Sollo what like edouard they signed and sold for nearly 20m nah who cares if we miss out on players like that to buy mid level championship players.
7.) 09 Jun 2025 12:22:48
Mustcatin when have you ever seen this boy play to know this is exactly who we should be going for. Seems like your opinion on him clouded because of who he played with rather than actually having witnessed him.
8.) 09 Jun 2025 12:40:29
We know nothing about the lad and if we were even interested so having mini meltdowns over us dropping our so called interest is madness - need to relax a bit on the paper talk as they will suggest numerous players who will never sign ??????.
9.) 09 Jun 2025 12:41:23
Only Rangers fans can rage about rumours of a rumoured deal for a development player falling through and a rumoured change in strategy over other rumoured transfer targets.
10.) 09 Jun 2025 12:43:20
If he was that good do you think PSG would let him leave?
11.) 09 Jun 2025 13:01:15
Yer maws maw they offered him a new contract he turned it down.
12.) 09 Jun 2025 13:10:09
Let's be honest we know nothing of who we are looking at, reporters will always look where the manager was before and look at players from league and who played under him, maybe better looking at what transfers Leeds have done in the last year to give u a better idea, plenty of time to worry once players have been signed.
13.) 09 Jun 2025 13:35:43
Maw…he's been offered a deal from PSG but he's looking to go play and have quicker pathway to first team football.
14.) 09 Jun 2025 13:50:45
Thats not what the article said. It just suggests that since the takeover being completed and the potential signing being lined up by the old board that Rangers may now pull out of the deal.
Seen the Youtube video from RFC News about the big shock u-turn and knew exactly what he was going on about as read the article an hr previous.
Just glad the manager chat is over and can concentrate on the player rumours, even the crazy ones.
15.) 09 Jun 2025 13:54:09
Well it's not russel Martins choice. After I asked yesterday I went online and looked. Seems like deals been signed and will be announced when transfer window opens.
16.) 09 Jun 2025 13:57:16
Also it's Rangers review posting it. Says it all really.
17.) 09 Jun 2025 13:57:52
Yes seen him play hence why they wanted too keep him
He's good well good
N if we miss this opportunity
It's a big miss
As I said this would be a coup
Yer maws maw
Even psg cast offs are a lot better than what we have mate
N no meltdown or rage ehl
Just opinion on some rumours right or wrong
I said good market to be in and I wrekon koppen knows it way better than Martin
It's all opinions ? n like I said jury's out
My opinion.
18.) 09 Jun 2025 14:02:17
N also my mate is a talent scout
I mentioned this b4
N his opinion is this boys a player
With a lot of interest in his services
He himself wants away from psg in hunt of possible first team football
N crack at champs league
You would have to be extraordinary yo be pushing into first team at psg.
19.) 09 Jun 2025 14:04:47
EHL, it IS a Rumours page lol???.
20.) 09 Jun 2025 14:19:54
Well done Muscat, you've used one example. And that example was a big money move I'm sure. Think they paid £6m+ for. My point is, you hear one rumour and flap even more about RM. Allegedly we wanted him, allegedly we've changed our mind. Or would you prefer we have him a decent contract to then realise he won't feature as doesn't fit our playing style?
21.) 09 Jun 2025 14:43:20
Celtic paid £9m for Edouard and sold him for £14m not anything alike with what's happening with Camara.
22.) 09 Jun 2025 14:55:49
Sollo who fits our new style non of us have seen? Championship cast offs? I have an opinion so what? Because i'd be gutted if reports are true? Oriley was unheard of before they signed him so way jota? there's more examples so was hatate so was kyogo there's more examples. all players are unheard of at one point in there carer. does that mean they aren't worth investing in? Weve went from being linked to talented youngsters from across europe and south america to mainly championship players. If that doesn't have you even slightly stressed about what's to come your eyes are firmly closed.
23.) 09 Jun 2025 15:54:30
What championship cast offs are we interested in? We've had some pretty good players from england. Goldson, defoe, kent, lundstram, tav, aribo, cantwell, butland i'm sure there's more - like any transfer there will be some misses as well. i was under the impression Rangers didn't want to use the english market because the prices were inflated, not because there aren't good players there. If there's a deal to be had for a good player from the championship i'd be all for it.
24.) 09 Jun 2025 16:34:25
Linked by who Muscatin, the press who haven't got a clue who we are interested in. Same as they didn't have a clue who, our manager would be. Think we need to wait and see who we go for and stop believing every story in the papers who are clueless.
25.) 09 Jun 2025 17:25:23
Didnt have a clue who out manager would be but mentioned martin for many many weeks possibly even months.
26.) 09 Jun 2025 17:51:37
Coops mentioned Martin way before the papers did, ages before infact, papers also mentioned terzic. Tedesco, lopetegui, ancelottio, O'Neil, schmidt, priske, Gerrard and others for weeks, throw enough ? and one will stick, doesn't mean they are right or have a clue. All favourites at one point and spoke about for months 2, so what's your point caller??.
27.) 09 Jun 2025 18:12:59
Along with about 10 other managers. If I cast enough lines into a loch I'll eventually catch a fish. All speculation to get readers and clicks on line. Some just lap it up right enough.
05 Jun 2025 17:18:28
Archer
Wood (defender)
Darling
Are three of the names I've heard martin wants in as his own players not sure how accurate it is probabaly not very imo
What i would say is the defence needs rebuilt so sounds plausible to me there's also ment to be a player from mk dons he wants in aswell
Again just a rumour not facts
This is why i was going on about the english lower league players as i heard along with martin this was who he wanted to give him the best chance to get the team playing his way.
1.) 05 Jun 2025 17:52:17
Darling and Archer would be good signings though Muscat, Archer was rated highly not very long ago, good finisher, don't know Wood.
2.) 05 Jun 2025 17:54:36
Hooefuly that's not archer the Scottish keeper. Butlands twice the keeper he is.
3.) 05 Jun 2025 18:02:11
Agreed my star and no davie, it's the striker.
4.) 05 Jun 2025 18:03:02
Im very wary of English club players now we've had far more misses than hits in recent years but i will trust whoever we get and hope they can be what we need them to be.
5.) 05 Jun 2025 18:06:18
Archer is a striker, was very highly rated as an U21. Not sure how much he would cost?
6.) 05 Jun 2025 18:09:28
Think it would be Cameron Archer, ex-villa I think and he was linked with us during Gerrard's time. Southampton paid £15M for him and with a market value of €12M doesn't sound plausible but who knows.
7.) 05 Jun 2025 18:10:26
Thanks for sharing Muscat ?.
8.) 05 Jun 2025 18:10:40
Am guessing it's Cameron archer Davie.
9.) 05 Jun 2025 18:11:42
Think it's Cameron Archer Davie tho maybe a bit pricey?
10.) 05 Jun 2025 18:11:50
If it is Cameron archer he is out of our price range never gona happen unless he is on a free.
11.) 05 Jun 2025 18:12:06
Davie no, a 17 million striker ex villa.
12.) 05 Jun 2025 18:13:38
Really don't want to go down the English championship rou.
13.) 05 Jun 2025 18:15:51
Striker davie.
14.) 05 Jun 2025 18:20:03
Nathan wood?
15.) 05 Jun 2025 18:36:03
Players leaving will probably be more important than new signings.
16.) 05 Jun 2025 18:49:01
Thanks troops. Just looked him up contracted till 2028. Personaly not seen him play but his stats ain't prolific. Good season at boro. 11 goals in 20 games but other than that not great. Valued at 15m so I'd imagine he ain't coming.
17.) 05 Jun 2025 19:15:48
Cole didn't you want Walker-Peters?
18.) 05 Jun 2025 19:18:42
Thats the one sam.
19.) 05 Jun 2025 20:06:26
Cameron Archer whose contract is till 2028, cost £15m and scored 2 goals in 35 appearances? Unlikely!
20.) 05 Jun 2025 21:13:35
I think Mark 44 hit it on the head. The rebuild starts with who we sell and get off the books and it's a lot of them. The names mentioned for me will be just the start.
21.) 05 Jun 2025 21:25:11
Someone posted a long list other day of failed signings from england and i can't believe we would go down that route again. The better players that would improve us simply wouldn't come here or they play in the prem.
22.) 05 Jun 2025 22:14:00
That might actually have been me dado.
23.) 05 Jun 2025 22:44:56
I agree with archer still young and promising but guys like darling have already been passed on by english clubs so sell on would be very liw possibility we need to get players younger of coming from english market.
24.) 05 Jun 2025 22:47:49
Dado, i totally agree if we are targeting english i hope it's players 18-21. think when players much older than that most clubs have already had a look and passed so if you sign then be prepared to struggle to move them on
Just like kent had spell lower league teams not impressed don't come back in.
25.) 06 Jun 2025 05:53:06
We should be focsung on raw young talents, the likes of raskin, diomande, Igamane, Nsiala, Jefte, Cortes, we were on the right track with Koppen, a good campaign in europe and the league and you have your next big money stars, more money less debt, look at what Brighton have achieved an ex 4th division side, the first team squads worth over half a billion, and players like Sima are spare change for them now.
Smart buys and player trading model now they can throw 30 to 40 million on a single player.
Fabio Silvas (another koppen loan signing) is doing great in the spanish premier league, 24 games, 10 goals, 3 assists, of course they play him in his correct position as a CF, now worth 20 mill and climbing, out of contract with wolves after next season.
Likely end up a top spanish club and picked up for a bargain price.
That would have been some attack if we could afford them.
LW Sima (9mill) CF Silva (20mill) RW Diallo (45mill) CAM Tillman (32mill) Champions league quality.
Celtic would get absolutely destroyed by that attack.
37 goals and 12 assists between them, a full season in the SPFL that would be about 60 goals and 30 assist.
26.) 06 Jun 2025 05:57:16
We should be shopping in the eastern european, african and south american markets for rising talents in 250k to 2 mill price range, plenty high quality players picked up as young raw or rising talents from those markets and the chance to play in europe and at Ibrox would be enough to convince most.
27.) 06 Jun 2025 08:07:48
Correct forever. Bassey/ aribo types on a free that's cool.

17 Jun 2025 15:15:44
So that's cameron "announced" a player we knew about months ago ? let's hope this is the first of many before pre season training.
1.) 17 Jun 2025 15:24:27
I also see sky are reporting on our interest in poku and aarons so those might be deals that could be done soon.
2.) 17 Jun 2025 15:31:46
Anyone no how long cameron signed for.
3.) 17 Jun 2025 15:53:19
Well, we needed to officially announce him. What's the issue?
4.) 17 Jun 2025 17:22:32
Another thought crossed my mind, regarding Dundee FC.
Today, Lyall Cameron's transfer officially announced to Rangers.
Luke McCowan doing ok at Celtic after his transfer from Dundee FC.
Josh Mulligan, tentatively linked to Rangers - probably going south to England.
I've probably missed a few others, but my point is, I wish our Academy had been anywhere as near productive as theirs, although I do understand these smaller clubs can nurture players into their first eleven, whereas we can't.
Again, it comes back to the lack of a decent pathway for younger players within clubs, to gain experience, against proper opponents.
Who's responsible for this situation - look no further than Doncaster and all his lackeys.
5.) 17 Jun 2025 18:39:55
I would rather they took time and got the right guys instead of rushing it and Muscat saying it was a panic buying.
6.) 17 Jun 2025 19:31:16
Jim217, Could it be that they aren't expected to win every week so can play youngsters without the fans turning on them and the team.
7.) 17 Jun 2025 19:46:09
Strom last season propper was brought in as a "panic" buy we've had a few "panic" buys is recent years i'd like to avoid that by getting our work in the market done asap to let everyone settle for the season starting.
8.) 18 Jun 2025 10:27:58
Fair point wslgers, I agree, that's why I said "these smaller clubs can nurture players into their first eleven, whereas we can't, ".
16 Jun 2025 09:41:19
Disappointed we haven't announced at least 8 players this morning sack the board.
1.) 16 Jun 2025 09:58:50
I'm hoping for at least 5 signing today or I'll be bitterly disappointed.
2.) 16 Jun 2025 10:15:32
Muscat, I'm just waiting for those posters saying that. If we haven't signed an entire new team today then the new board have no money and calls for them to "get out of my club".
3.) 16 Jun 2025 11:05:23
Who would honestly post this? Is this just a really poor attempt at sarcasm or is there a wider point your trying to make?
4.) 16 Jun 2025 11:18:20
Who shat in your cornflakes.
5.) 16 Jun 2025 11:29:48
People post what they want to post, if It's not for my liking I scroll past it. I've been mainly a lurker on these forums for years but I've noticed there is far to much gate keeping from some folk.
'Live and let Live'
6.) 16 Jun 2025 12:06:17
Finally our first signing looks like a player incoming from Greece - Colombian internationalist I believe called Cifuentes will we ever get rid of these guys ??????.
7.) 16 Jun 2025 12:13:22
Dado, if your talking about me, then it was sarcastic, but we both know that there will be supporters who will be genuinely disappointed if we don't sign anyone today.
8.) 16 Jun 2025 12:42:44
Yeah I tend to skip past those guys. I'd rather we signed 1 right person than 4 wrong ones. We need quality not quantity in my opinion. I can see this seeing being a write off so let's get quality in the door.
9.) 16 Jun 2025 12:44:35
Gutted, was expecting a double decker bus of new signings at the training centre today - only thing that has arrived is a fresh delivery of seaweed.
{Ed001's Note - no kelp? That is disappointing.}
10.) 16 Jun 2025 13:45:18
Obviously sarcasm aside, I would rather they took their time with signings and get it right. Also quality rather than quantity so we can try and start to build something.
11.) 16 Jun 2025 14:49:57
Super Ally i hope he's better than the ecuadorian guy we had ?.
12.) 16 Jun 2025 14:51:57
Kelp delivery is due in on Thursday.
13.) 16 Jun 2025 15:27:31
Sur truth the other mobs fans have already posted that the 49s have no money and will rinse our club.
14.) 16 Jun 2025 15:28:48
You're going to be disappointed then, they appointed the cheap option as manager despite knowing since February that Ferguson wasn't getting the job, I'm only surprised Martin has 3 years contract, I thought they might go 1 year rolling contract, I hope I'm wrong but he seems like a patsy to me, he has little time to prepare for Europe, I'm already very concerned.

New image uploaded to the
Rangers Player Sightings page entitled, This will be next seasons team for sure and player ratings it's not a heavily inaccurate mobile game at all

07 Jun 2025 17:35:23
The suns potential new 11 for martin looks really really poor imo. Even the papers are expecting an influx of england based players. if this is the road we are going down we better get it spot on. but I've a warburton feeling about this.
1.) 07 Jun 2025 17:56:17
Totally agree and I'd not pay any attention to them.
2.) 07 Jun 2025 18:05:46
I don't think we've spent the resources building the scouting networks we have over the last year or so to ignore them.
3.) 07 Jun 2025 18:13:35
When did journalism become fantasy football, total nonsense that's even a thing.
4.) 07 Jun 2025 18:16:25
Seriously Muscat, no one has any idea who we will sign so with nothing concrete to go on they start inventing stuff. Please tell me you don't believe what gets printed in the Sun.
5.) 07 Jun 2025 18:45:18
The sun are predicting line ups and where were buying players. that's us doomed then ??.
6.) 07 Jun 2025 19:04:12
It's the sun who cares what they think paper is nothing but filth.
7.) 07 Jun 2025 19:10:30
Would we not have to have som Scottish trained/ academy type signings for Europe? Given we seem to be cleaning out the b team and mcausland for instance?
8.) 07 Jun 2025 19:36:39
Bar squad requires maximum of 25 players.
17 non Scottish academy
4 Scottish academy
4 Rangers academy for A list.
B list then made up of youth who r under 21.
So as it stands Barron souttar Cameron
Rangers trained. Kelly
Fraser McCausland Curtis I think, so not too bad, same or better than previous seasons.
You r allowed guys like rice Nsio Hutton mcallion imo all better than mcausland.
9.) 07 Jun 2025 20:09:56
Bailey rice now counts as Scottish academy as well as he's trained in Scotland for 3 years. He will be homegrown for next season unless we loan him out.
10.) 07 Jun 2025 20:21:11
I don't think they are anywhere near right at all lads ? i just found it funny but all the links to english players reminds me of the warburton era.
11.) 07 Jun 2025 21:04:01
I have a low opinion on anyone that's reads a red top let alone the Sun.
12.) 07 Jun 2025 21:25:10
Shakey. Got to disagree to be on A list u have to be over 21 to be home grown.
05 Jun 2025 10:00:27
Anyone know when the players are likely to start signing? Can we expect a lot of activity before pre season starts?
Is there any more pre contracts to be announced?
1.) 05 Jun 2025 10:49:31
Muscat, I still think we can't sing until the second transfer window but can't find anything on UEFA which is clear. Down south as they have participants in CWC they have opened window to everyone but other countries haven't and just let those participating buy/ sell.
so we may need to wait. another week of discussion on who might be available ?.
2.) 05 Jun 2025 11:03:41
Rangers are capable of playing great football and competing against and beating very good teams. There's just a lack of a wide enough array of the right type of players.
That's the way I see it anyway. The manager is the key appointment for me and obviously all in the Ibrox board are happy that the right selection has been made. Let's see what happens. Martin may be very, very good, just what we need and so give it a chance to work. Celtic supporters stayed with Postecoglu and look how that turned out.
3.) 05 Jun 2025 11:04:59
Let's hope we can start getting some Bosmans over the line in the mean time then.
I feel like our window opening and our preseason starting are very close together and call me old fashioned, but i like to have as many in as possible before pre season as i feel that gives them the best chance of success.
19 Jun 2025 18:55:47
Im going to join the others in not posting what I've heard on here again. there are far too many disrespectful neds who jump down people's throats every other post completely unneeded and uncalled for and honestly something that's killing this page.
19 Jun 2025 18:52:49
Where do i mention winning trophies with them? Why start being a complete disrespectful wee boy about it? Grow up. get a grip. and please done comment on any of my posts again.
19 Jun 2025 18:50:30
Croatians and Rangers are always a great mix.
19 Jun 2025 16:43:41
Deboer matondo is a winger cortes is a winger we have young players who are also wingers so please explain how we have no wingers.
19 Jun 2025 16:04:13
Kaiser a good manager uses the players he has and makes a system to to suit the players and from what's been said about martin that's very much what he might do.
19 Jun 2025 17:50:03
Hes on 35k a week walter so i'm not surprised were not his first choice if we are actually after him.
19 Jun 2025 16:15:34
For some reason we pulled the plug on this loan in january so i'm not sure but its a deal that would make a lot of sense imo.
19 Jun 2025 14:18:02
Ita become like twitter now stig. people can't just read something and add something to it any more.
18 Jun 2025 17:36:35
So basicly like every year for the last 3 or 4 maybe more years we are going to be stuck with a bunch of players who don't really want to be here but refuse to leave for less wages. Sounds like an exciting time.
18 Jun 2025 16:01:37
I was expecting a lot more from these guys in regards to what your saying. there's been a tiny little statement and not a lot else complete silence isn't something our support will handle very well as has been proven in the past.
