Surely there will be a time constraint for his bid. He can’t just not bid therefore stopping all the strip sales.
I think JDs bid has to be matched or bettered, it’s only at that point Rangers decide who to go with!
Even if SD match the bid it doesn’t necessarily mean they will win the retail contracts.
I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve heard, please correct me if anyone knows better.

Listen, previous regimes agreed to bring in Ashley and sports direct, the current board came to a deal with sports direct to end deal early under the conditions that they got a chance of sales and distribution of new kit, the board in there wisdom decided to try n cut them out and cost the club over £500000, who’s to blame for this, the current rangers board, these are facts not rumours or hear say but facts.

Yately . how does king have to tell the troops. We have to box clever here and the way king came out and announced we had littke money for transfers (rather than the 39 mil people were expecting ) was a master stroke. and kept the vultures at bay. I beleive he is playing the same waiting game with fatty and it’s just a process we have to go through to get rid . Pointless showing our hand to the fat one . Yeah, let’s tell the fans all of the complexities of the current stand off!
There will be confidentiality clauses galore in the contracts, we will have legal arguments that only our lawyers and board should be privy to but in general, businesses do not do their dirty laundry in public.
Let the board do their job - they will ensure that we get the best outcome possible given the circumstances and we will be told what the situation is when it is resolved.
It’s the real world out there boys and even Rangers have to live in it and abide by the rules!

Why go to court if its written in a contract that SD got to match any merchandise deal? What's happened to the share issue? We've been crying out for our club to conduct our business behind closed doors since the end of the Murray era. Now we're doing it and some are calling for "transparency" give it a rest, when there is something to announce you'll hear about it.

Ashley is the one holding this up, he won the court case so now he either has to match the bid from JD or whoever or let us go. If he matches the bid then I believe we have to stay with SD as our retail partner, the only way we can move would be if he refused to match another offer. Jist of it is, he won the court case what, 2 weeks ago now? So he is stalling on making an offer for whatever reason he has.
All of the above regarding the contract with SD and its permutations are just hear say because no one outside of either board (RFC and SD) knows what the deal actually stated and Ashley will have confidentiality clauses all over any current/ new contract so the RFC board will never be able to tell us anything without being in breach of contract and costing us more money in a court room.
End of the day, we will be looking at a better kit deal in terms of how much we make from every shirt. Unfortunately that may mean we have to continue business with Ashley but our board must ensure there is nothing in the new contract that will leave us with Ashley bending us over a barrel, like a 7 year notice to leave.
