Yesterday was a difficult watch particularly in the first half, however unlikely to be a pattern of the whole season. From reading posts from yesterday there seems to be a few themes.
Yes Souttar had a difficult day but he certainly was not only player at fault for the goal. I feel he will get better but is likely to have to fight for his place as Davies being a left sided centre half with will certainly bring more balance to the defence

Those having a go at Colak after one game I find ridiculous as he had very little service. The one good ball he received he absolutely burried and if VAR was in (still can't believe they are introducing half way through a season) it may well have counted. I will say that he needs to work on his first touch as he had a few half chances yesterday and was let down by it.

If Tillman continues to have these types of cameo's it won't be long till he has nailed down a first team place. I would be interested to see how much the option to buy is for.

A final word on Ryan Kent who was also getting so stick. His end product was poor in the first half but certainly improved in the second where he had the beating of the right back and provided an assist. What actually impressed me the most was his work rate and tracking back. He won the ball back several times which is something he hasn't always done in the past and hopefully is a sign of things to come.

A difficult start for sure but I would have taken a nervy 2-1 prior to the game against an always dogged Livingston.

Kent wouldn’t need to track back or win the ball back if he never lost it so much in the first place?
And Souttar’s error at the goal wasn’t his only mistake. He got skinned at the half way line and only Goldson standing up to the big Livi striker prevented a second goal. He also was borderline for a second yellow.
The defence was much more composed when Sands came on.

2.) 31 Jul 2022 12:34:28
That big striker for livingstone made an big impression on me yesterday, very good player for them.

3.) 31 Jul 2022 12:56:47
I don’t have a problem with Colak, it’s good to have a striker who wants to do most of his work in the opposition’s box rather than coming deep.

4.) 31 Jul 2022 13:04:56
Thought the whole team was poor in the first half with the exception of Wright. Second half Kent was good as was most of the team, with the exception of Kamara. Thought he was totally anonymous.

Agree that sands is a better option than Souttar atm who needs to find his feet.

5.) 31 Jul 2022 13:26:44
Defence looked more composed when Sands came on? Didn’t look very composed when Livingston scored their second goal that was chopped off wrongly. Again the big livi striker causing problems and Souttar not on the park.

6.) 31 Jul 2022 13:29:52
Kent had a great game yesterday, one of the only players willing to run at them and make something happen. Got an assist, should have had two assists, job done.

7.) 31 Jul 2022 13:55:24
MPH yeah sands made all the difference when he came into the defending nothing to do with the big boy upfront being knackered and they did score what looked like a perfectly good goal.

8.) 31 Jul 2022 14:07:53
Wright didn't have a good half hence the reason gio took him off.

9.) 31 Jul 2022 14:16:03
It's interesting to see how positive everyone is about Tillmans performance (me being one of them) - yet he probably lost the ball more than Kent and missed a big chance.

Seems to me like it's going to be another season of Kent-bashing.

10.) 31 Jul 2022 14:37:42
Sands made a huge difference. They never scored a perfectly good goal as the whistle was blown long before the ball hit the net and it was a foul. Our goal that was given as offside was clearly onside, not sure where you are coming from here storm. You sound like one of them sulking?

11.) 31 Jul 2022 15:54:26
Livingston never ‘scored’ a perfectly good second goal, Storm.
The whistle was blown by the referee right away for the infringement on Tav by the Livi striker.
So whatever happens after the whistle is blown is immaterial.

12.) 31 Jul 2022 15:57:06
Kent lost the ball 21 times in 72 touches, EHL
Tillman lost it 9 times in 40 touches.

13.) 31 Jul 2022 16:11:30
OWS, in my opinion Wright was taken off as a precaution after being hit on the knee (full back booked) and after that another go at Weight's knee (not booked) but hooked.

14.) 31 Jul 2022 16:50:44
Kent gets doubled up on Mrph, not really sure what point you are trying to make? If Kent doesn't run at teams and take them on then spaces don't open up and we don't create chances. Would you rather we passed the ball backwards or side to side like we did under warburton because that's what would happen if we never ran at teams and took them on. Kent got an assist and should have had two, as a winger he did his Job. Also tilman played 45min. Not sure why you are making a comparison?

15.) 31 Jul 2022 17:07:39
Also Mrph you say Kent lost the ball 21 times in 72 touches in 90mins.

In 45 mins you say Tilman lost it 9 times in 40 touches, that's approx 50% of Kent's stats who played 90mins.

So what I'm trying to say is if Tilman plays 90mins let's say he loses it 18 times in 80 touches. Very similar to Kent but you are having a go at Kent but you said yesterday Tilman is a player.

As I said mate am not really sure what point you are trying to make because the way I see it you are contradicting yourself, very similar Stats but one is a player and the other loses it far too often?

16.) 31 Jul 2022 17:20:08
MPH - out of interest, where do you get your data from?

17.) 31 Jul 2022 19:20:50
Tillman lost the ball 22% of his touches
Kent lost the ball 30% of his touches
Not exactly similar, Pundit?
And it’s all about opinions. Tillman in his 2 appearances that I have seen him looks a player. We’ll just have to see what the season brings for him.
I already know what to expect from Kent who is a talent but should be delivering so much more.

18.) 31 Jul 2022 19:21:38
Knowledge is power, EHL.
Can’t be giving my source away???.

19.) 31 Jul 2022 19:22:38
Tillman had 3 players on him at the left wing and managed to get away from them all to create a chance in the Livi box, Pundit.
You are making excuses for Kent by saying he gets doubled up on. ?‍♂️
And how many openings did Kent create by running at Livi yesterday?
I just expect more from him.
Not sure why are you are therefore making the comparison? Surely if an attacking midfielder can create with 3 players round about him then Kent an attacking winger can beat a man or 2?

Do we know if assistants have followed Gerrard to Birmingham? Club statement vague at best? I imagine he will be in for a number of our players in January if there is not a clause in place.
Do we get some one in till the end of the season and see how they do or do we get a permanent in and try to build?
Did not envisage this at the beginning of the season and I feel this could totally derail us in such an important season! Ross Wilson will certainly have to show his worth now.

The fact it thanks Steven and his staff would suggest to me that the 4 main players are gone (SG, Gary Mac, Beale, Culshaw)

2.) 11 Nov 2021 10:46:07
I think it will derail us to be honest - taken the heart right out of it I think
really disappointed.

Evening everyone. Very professional performance from the team tonight and should have been a heftier scoreline in our favour. I have been wanting Scott Wright to get start for a while to see what he can do in the context of a full game. I was very impressed tonight with his all round game all be it against a league one side. I hope he gets given another start in the next league game to see how he would link up with Morelos and Kent.

Now that the league is almost over the line, what are people's priority's for the remainder of the season?
1. As far as possible in Europe
2. Win Scottish cup
3. Remain undefeated in the league

Personally for me I'd like to continue our European journey as it is not only of financial benefit but continues to raise our profile and may help us attract a better quality of player.

ScottyMc

1.) 05 Mar 2021 21:39:24
How can you prioritise any 1 of those 3 because I want Rangers to win every game so all 3 are my priority and will be Rangers priority. 1 game at a time and keep winning if possible.

2.) 05 Mar 2021 21:39:34
Them all! Always has been the glasgow rangers way 👍🤔.

3.) 05 Mar 2021 21:50:36
All three my friend take every game as it comes just imagine a double unbeaten in the league and possible Europa League quarter/ semi. The meltdown would be complete.

4.) 05 Mar 2021 21:51:03
Agree ScottyMc. 1 and 2 most important both financially and development of club.

5.) 05 Mar 2021 22:06:28
Yes I agree with the one game at a time philosophy, has always been the managers way and has served us in good stead this season. @55rangers I agree that our rivals in the eastend would be sick.

Hi guys. First time poster but been reading for a good while. Another excellent result today. Took us a while to get into the game but eventually got our act together. Possibly Aribo's best performance in a Rangers jersey. I'm hoping that talks are ongoing about extending Allan McGregor's contract as again today he shows his worth and between him and Davis would be my pick for player of the season.

ScottyMc

1.) 21 Feb 2021 18:41:30
Welcome scotty.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 18:48:05
Welcome Scotty yes Aribo was excellent and I don't think anyone would complain if either Davis or Mcgregor were POTY.

3.) 21 Feb 2021 19:17:48
A very warm welcome to the site scottyMc 👍🇬🇧.

4.) 21 Feb 2021 19:44:48
McGregor epitomizes what you want from a team mate.
4-0 and cruising and we lose a late goal and McGregor is absolutely furious with his teammates.

5.) 21 Feb 2021 19:43:30
Welcome scotty aribo is getting better and better heard the training staff at ibrox believe he can become a real world class player and go to very top of the game.

6.) 21 Feb 2021 19:54:43
Welcome scottyMc, just in time for 55 mate 😉.

7.) 21 Feb 2021 20:35:15
Hi mate, yes Greegs epitomises Rangers and imo he's poty, just for his class and the desire to bring it home to Ibrox.

I would be very surprised if Liverpool get rid of Klopp considering the amount of success he has brought them although you never know with football these days you just have to look at Chelsea since Roman has taken over. Like you say TWBG the manager seems to be an intelligent guy and will know that he's only likely to get one shot at the job (by that I mean once he's got it he will never get it again) . He just has to look at Frank Lampard to see what can happen to a club legend with a lack of experience. In saying all this I'm still hoping Liverpool start to pick up and maybe get close in the champions League to ensure Klopp stays.

I've been impressed with Scott Wright cameo appearances so far he seems to be a very direct player and is potentially another steal. I would like to see him get a start next weekend.
