Star you have been going on about him in a back 3 for ages and as a DCM despite him not having played there for 9-10 years. so he may have once been played as a DCM but it was at his first 2 clubs. but firstly that doesn't mean he still can and also many experienced managers haven't played him there. I prefer to back their judgement as they have seen him play than someone on a fans forum who hasn't seen him play DCM for at least 9 years. I assume that is acceptable.

On Gerrard, would he be my first choice? No, but a lot of ours had unrealistic expectations. It wasn't ever going to be Rose, Terzic, Schmidt anyone like that. He's got the stature and experience of Scottish football. Did he make mistakes his first time? Of course he did not denying that. But if the ambition of the board matches the ambition of Steven Gerrard then it's going to be a good couple of years.

Just read the Sky story and it is all Sky understands Ancilotti and Gerrard are 2 names the club have sounded out. Sky say this is as they look to finalise a short list. they then list about 4 or 5 names including Edwards, Martin and Rohl. no word of Rangers telling Sky. 'Sky believe they are assessing; does that sound like the club have told them anything.
Sky actually write: While there is no front runner at this stage, CEO Patrick Stewart confirmed on Sunday the search for a new head coach "is progressing well" and added the club "look forward to concluding our process in the coming period".

If the club have been negotiating for a new manager since the start of the year, would make sense it's Gerrard as he left his position in the Saudi league in January 2025.
The only SPFL League cup success Rangers have had since coming back up was with Gerrard.
The only League cup Success Gerrard has ever had was with Rangers.
Why wouldn't we bring back the manager that Killed Celtics 10 in a row campaign in it's tracks and went on to win the SPFL League cup UNBEATEN, and had us playing superb attacking football once he got the squad rebuilt to a standard that could not only challenge Celtic but out play teams of much higher caliber in Europe.
With the right backroom team and and talented team with funds to spend on serious quality young raw talent, i think he would be a bigger success than before.
Would be less of a rebuild this time round as our squad is far more talented than when Gerrard originally took charge in 2018.

Laudrup, u hit the nail on the head mate with the rebuild part. It is less of a rebuild this time, the club are in a better position in all departments and the squad is in a better place in most departments than before.
It's not as big a job. More support and more funds will also make it easier for him.

Cifuentes doesn't get over 20 caps for Ecuador if he's a bad player. I'd be willing to give him a chance. Him Raskin and Dio in midfield could work very well. He had a poor 6 months in a rotten Beale team, I'd be willing to give him another chance. We only paid £1.2m yet some want £4m while saying he's rubbish?

2 players I really want at Rangers. Vicente Pizarro and Dor Turgeman. Both full internationals. Pizarro Chilean left footed number 6 who could free up Raskin and Dio. Turgeman big powerful Israeli striker with great technique. Both young with bags of potential. Could make millions on both I believe. 2 outstanding signings in my opinion. Really hope interest in both is serious.

I've known about them for over a year GJD purely down to football manager haha had them both at rangers. Paid close attention to both since. Some say it's only a game but a lot of clubs use it as a scouting database. I knew of the likes of Ridvan and Diomande before they came as well due to FM. Spotted many of players on this over the years before they became known. 3 I remember from my younger days were Robinho, Mascherano and Modric who all went on to have fantastic careers.

I agree my star. I'd like us to ditch the number 10 role and play with 3 cms. A holding midfielder and 2 centre midfielders. Focus on full backs getting forward and utilising wide players. Turgeman is a striker who can link the play very well.

MK dons owner says he changed the club when he joined on and off field. he helped develop Matt Reilly, Darling and Scott Twine. Took them from relegation threatened to 13th finish so improved a poor and struggling team.
At Swansea he finished 15th and then 10th developed young players and was 1st in division for forward passes and successful final 3rd passes.
At Southampton he won promotion at 1st attempt
so it seems he plays a good style of football, develops players and builds the clubs structure. that is probably what we want at the moment.

Storm I think ancelotti might have got time from fans as he is an inexperienced first team coach if you know what I mean? Where as Martin has that experience and in a lot of fans eyes isn't as glamorous an appointment. Tbh ancelotti was more of a risk as you don't know what you're getting. Although a lot think martins record isn't the best…. i think he conducts himself well and seems to have a clear view of what he wants which aligns with new owners vision. Hopefully he breathes fresh air into our playing style and with the right recruitment and support could be the foundations of really good things.
