Apparently Dessers given permission to speak to Atlanta (US) and a yet to be named Ligue 1 club. £3 million bid tabled.
Dowell has also spoken to two English teams, x1 championship and x1 league one with no fee divulged but will be in the hundreds of thousands.

Nothing on the incomings other than Lyall Cameron offered a pre-contract with no intent to make him a Jan signing. Another tribunal for a development fee?

I would be very amenable to Dessers going if we can get a reasonable fee for him (£3m+) and Dowel for whatever is possible, if it means we can reinvest it in a CB and CF. I think we need a winger for the left in too, but not sure how achievable all that will be.

2.) 08 Jan 2025 15:18:22
Stone t u hearing anything on moneys owed re dessers, I’m told we owe two payments

Yo Jimbo, we will have very little left.

3.) 08 Jan 2025 15:33:51
Not paying Dowell off would be a win, he will end up pocketing any transfer fee to go in line with his present wage.

4.) 08 Jan 2025 15:34:23
I’d be over the moon if we got dessers and dowel out the door n off the wage bill while bringing in £3-3.5m for both. That’s good business for us as it stands. Not good in terms of what we paid out but as it stands hats good. I believe Cameron will only come in if we move dowel on, maybe also need Lawrence away aswell for that to happen as squad space matters here. Hopefully we move both in and bring the lad in now.
But European squad has to be taken into account when doing all of this.

5.) 08 Jan 2025 15:37:07
John would h u agree it’s more about getting these players out the door and off the wage bill so PC can get in the squad of players he needs n wants.
Know it’s not great in terms of money but the other option is they run down co tract n we are stuck with them and still have to pay the payments and wages anyway.
We need to take these hits in order to move forward as a team and club.

6.) 08 Jan 2025 15:48:31
John, appreciate that we seem to still need to pay some to Dessers old club, but at this stage I just cannot see his value increasing at Rangers. I think he's now 3rd choice CF and I don't think we should hold on to him for another year if he's realistically not going to get a lot of game time given the wage he'll be on and the diminishing returns we'll make on him. Sadly I think the only option is to cut our losses now and move on from what was yet another miss in the transfer market under old regimes. Painful from a financial perspective, but I think that's the spot we're in.

7.) 08 Jan 2025 15:50:57
John- no figures touted but I think we will be lucky to keep a low 7 figure sum if CD actually goes based upon what’s owed, that figure varies between who is asked to be fair. There’s also the chance he refuses to go, again.

Agreed on the Dowell chat, when he’s on the pitch it’s the closest I ever get to walking out the stadium or turning the telly off. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he brings absolutely nothing and is stealing an opportunity for a young player to get that exposure/ experience we all repetitively shout about for Bailey Rice etc.

8.) 09 Jan 2025 08:50:18
John you keep saying we will have very little left the payments we do not make as we will have payed him off can be reinvested if the club do t the useless C##ts on the board will be in for a terrible time.

A nuance of being a Rangers fan is a bipolar reaction throughout our good, bad and ugly. I’ve tried to tell myself that this is our version of what Sir Alex done at united…. Pish for a wee bit, building and stamping a brand but bloody hell the current situation is beyond what I can stomach.

Young Nsiala was massively let down by the mute Propper.
Ridvan is out of position and can’t keep the ball between the white lines and his ball striking is akin to an armless man using a fly swatter in the heat of summer.
So many names underperforming but Rabbi the Welsh skelf Matondo has zero game intelligence and leaves us a man down. Wtf is clement thinking. He makes the don’t let the door hit you on the way out list alongside; Dowell, Propper, King ( I’ll take stuck for that but he's not good enough), Dessers and McAusland (another below the level required) .

Someone must have an idea of a solution here, where do we go? Who do/ can we sign?

The big question is does my star still see the progress?

2.) 10 Jan 2025 08:03:45
I’m struggling to believe Lovelace, Stevens, Rice and Niso aren’t better than Matondo, Dio, Dowell, Proper etc….

If we are downsizing and rebuilding then why are these guys not playing.

I think we paid £5m for Ridvan, £4m for Dio, £6m Danilo, £3m for Matondo, £4m for Cortez. All of these guys played last night, doesn’t feel like downsizing?

3.) 10 Jan 2025 08:07:41
Matondo should never play another game for us again and it’s not a knee jerk reaction from last night I have thought this for a while.

4.) 10 Jan 2025 09:51:08
Paul, the world through his eyes must be something special because a blind man can see we are a train wreck.

Last nights result, albeit sh*t gives a clear picture now in terms of signings.

PC and NK had a list of players who would be signed with a projected CL budget and a lesser quality of player should we enter EL at the groups.

It’s frustrating but it’s the way of the current climate inside the club, some will argue that £ should have been spent before CL qualifiers but that contingent fail to see the big picture.

Three signings that would be expected starters to come in before end of window now.

This is some reading between the lines and some info from a media link to the club.

Hearing that Matondo not to be in tonight's squad, has been omitted to allow a loan move *with option to buy. He has three offers, unclear as to which he has chosen. Source is questionable but has had some hits, won't lie about that. I for one of many would be glad to see the back of him - he's an immature non contributor caring more about messing about than putting in the work.

Lylall Cameron urged to opt for a guaranteed playing situation by those close to him. Apparently hasn't outright said no to us but I don't feel that this is a go-er on that claim.

Wish I had something on incomings but it's as quiet as an Aberdeen crowd when they are playing anyone but Rangers.

Players get injured…. Every single player runs that risk at the ‘elite’ level. Ekdal would be handy, would have taken his brother too on his Bundesliga form 5+ years ago.

The ‘greatest supporters in the world’ wouldn’t walk out when the team need them most.

The sense of entitlement and expectancy is utterly embarrassing. Entitlement and expectancy are the true enemies of progress and growth, not only in football terms but life too.

So what if some of us grew up mopping up the league for nearly a decade, things change, things cycle… our time will come again.

A group of vocal group of men children that consistently undermine the club with vitriol and use of pyro that gets us sanctioned do not speak for me, never will. They should stand up and support or feck off altogether and have their wee arranged fights on the Facebook groups far from our club.

What an absolutely bonkers mentality to wish that upon the man who won’t be sacked/ asked to leave during a winter transfer window.

The board are behind him, when will that fact sink in?

We are up that brown fetid creek on form and finance but a support that walks out at a slack pass, boos their own players and the like helps nothing. Not in the short term, if we drop to third, he will go. They have settled for second. If ibrox is empty for home games which is a dire possibility, the board will move him on.

Until then…. Suck it and see.

Let’s hope it’s not 3pm Friday announcement stating that Bailey Rice will get more bench and game time… ahem…

Hearing the PatStew press release / is tomorrow so as not to interfere with tonight’s match.

Anyone else slightly concerned about this? It’s an unusual strategy for the a CEO to hold court on transfers unless it’s a statement of no expected activity to take the heat off the gaffer.
