Bottom line is this is a one off, so the game must be won on the day.
My one crumb is that, if we can be disciplined, we have shown an ability (albeit in Europe) to hit on the break. I fear we need to do this well, as chances are going to be limited. Sadly other side are well ahead of us, but every dog has its day!

If we don't have width and pace, their back line will push up high, squeeze the game and allow their front line to press our backline - and there's only going to be one winner.

They will start big favourites but favourites don`t always win . If we have Sterling fit to play at right back, play Balogun for his pace alongside Souttar and play somebody who will get in MacGregors face whenever he goes near the ball, we have a chance .
Then all we have to do is cut out the silly individual mistakes, score a couple of the chances we make and hope for fair decisions from the refs on the field and on VAR duty . I suspect the last one will be the hardest to achieve given the OF games last season.

Cortez would need to be on bench tonight a think to have chance for final, Stirling and Danilo needed to be realistic, don’t think Danilo any better of a finisher than the rest but makes things happen for others up top.

It is unbelievable how poor our record is against Celtic and in particular when Brendan Rodgers has been in charge of Celtic . Rangers can on occasion play well against Celtic and look as if they could win . However Celtic seem to nearly always manage to still get a positive result.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s the Dutch Ben Davies. Good in Europe when the ball is on the ground but will struggle domestically.

EHL I agree with you 100%. Propper isn't the worst defensively but hasn't been used to the bullying he gets in the league; he will learn. his playing of the ball from the back is good and that I think is what we are looking for from our CBs.
In response to OPs questions my answers are yes they will improve together and probably yes as we have so many games in a week they can't play them all.

I know Fork and it is those fans who frustrate me more than the team. they down even realise that if they supported Dessers his confidence would improve and he might not snatch at chances after a fantastic bit of skill to bring the ball down in the box. 2 sides to every story.

I always think when a team is going through a lean patch failing to get a run of good results, the slightest wee injury or knock results in a large number of players spending long spells in the treatment room and not available for team selection.

I think it should be obvious to any Rangers fan why we want him to sign a new deal soon. If he runs down to 12 months any resale value diminishes. Then into the last year you might as well say he's leaving for nothing. We've been burned too many times. If he doesn't sign a new deal get him sold.

The way we're are playing at times we need to do something in January. If the club wants Lennon Miller the money men will probably find a way to fund it. I think what Motherwell want for him is too expensive but that's just my opinion. I think signing Shankland is a no brainer on a pre contract. Gives more options, costs nothing and his wages won't be massive. I get he's out of sorts atm but then so are our strikers.

I think dropping Tav for a few games did him the world of good. No pressure got a rest and was spared the slagging. I would still play Sterling against Maeda. If we play like we've been playing in the last couple games we have a good chance. They aren't all that and haven't been playing particularly brilliant. We need to match them in effort and fight.

With regards to young Barron. I think he's a decent squad player and still young. The early performances probably looked better as everyone else just about were woeful. Now other players are starting to perform Barrons'limitations are showing a bit. That said, he might kick on and be the next Barry Ferguson I doubt it though. Still decent young player.
