So just seen the picture of gretar steinssen at the game yesterday. Belive he was already in turkey. Would it be wrong to put 2 and 2 together and suggest he's the new dof.

Verdant Amiss

1.) 17 Mar 2025 12:29:49
I doubt it he's accepted a position in the 49ers investment group. I'd imagine he will have a saw in the next SD. I'd be surprised if he done both roles.

2.) 17 Mar 2025 16:50:25
According to some pick, Gretar Steinsson has already accepted the position of the new Rangers director of football mate ?.

3.) 17 Mar 2025 17:51:04
Maybe that's where they're sending him. He was leaving Leeds to take a position up with the 49ers investment group. It was announced by Leeds. Good News. He's served his apprenticeship in that role.

4.) 17 Mar 2025 17:59:27
Verdant, not in my opinion,

27 Feb 2025 11:23:46
This one is probably for ehl to answer, but is there any truth in the rumour that nsiala was absent from training for a couple of months after he first signed and if yes was it something the club knew about and were approving of?

Verdant Amiss

1.) 27 Feb 2025 12:57:04
He was training with the B team most weeks.

2.) 27 Feb 2025 14:36:11
The rumour I'm referring to is that he wasn't even at the training centre for a few months.

3.) 27 Feb 2025 15:54:30
The boy needs to and will toughen up, Propper might not though.

4.) 27 Feb 2025 16:23:20
He has had a couple of rubbish games but has put in more good performances and will improve but he needs Balogun or Souter next to him to help him through games like how Weir helped Wilson.

5.) 27 Feb 2025 16:44:17
Honestly have no idea.

Not something I've ever heard or read before.

6.) 27 Feb 2025 16:57:45
He has the football brain and passing skills that most CBs will never have, his strength and decision making just to clear the ball are things he will adapt too through mins and coaching etc, he's had a hard couple of games and must not let that get to him is his first step.

7.) 27 Feb 2025 17:55:31
To be fair the rumour came from someone with connections to the game but was passed to him from a colleague basically saying he was awol for the first few months after he signed and the club didn't know where he was but were trying to keep it hush.

It sounds like a load of nonsense though.

8.) 27 Feb 2025 17:56:56
It's utter nonsense it's not true.

9.) 27 Feb 2025 18:20:33
I think it's been misinterpreted to be honest storm. Just thought I'd ask our resident auchenowie expert to see if they're was anything in it.

10.) 27 Feb 2025 18:21:49
Verdant he was training daily and learning the language.

11.) 27 Feb 2025 18:22:45
Wasnt that igamane.

12.) 27 Feb 2025 18:38:04
He played on the 5th of August against Larne. I don't know if he played before that but it's not like he wasn't in the team till October.

13.) 27 Feb 2025 19:13:48
He was on pre-season with 1st team in July
He then played games in every month from August to December for B team
He then came into first team squad and played first game on 5 January;
He has played or been on bench since them
checked squads for b team to confirm the above and transfermarkt confirms 1st team games so doubt he would be missing from training for a few months and still be playing every month. that doesn't sound right.

14.) 27 Feb 2025 20:09:39
Thanks Angus that's what I thought but couldn't find info on b squad games and who was in them. Suspected it was BS and now have the proof. Thanks.

15.) 27 Feb 2025 20:36:10
On Nsiala, I don't think his issue is necessarily strength - his biggest issue is anticipation.

Watching back the footage from last night, he's just not anticipating contact - a lot of this is because there is a real lack of physicality in the B Team friendlies and also in training.

16.) 27 Feb 2025 20:43:42
If fernandes can't get a game before nsiala or Propper then what did we bring him in for.

17.) 27 Feb 2025 21:10:24
Personally i think the lad would be a great defensive midfielder rather than a CB.

18.) 27 Feb 2025 22:00:23
EHL he seems to not attack the ball in the air as well though. game against st Mirren and Killie where he headed the ball about 3 feet and caused issues. physical contact and balance is difficult but does he also just need to know to get it as far from danger as possible at times.

19.) 27 Feb 2025 22:10:19
J-zer must be many of us thinking that mate I certainly am.

20.) 27 Feb 2025 23:05:17
Watching back the footage of nsiala last nite and he looks like Bambi on ice . can't play the ball in front of the LB/ RB I really hope he finds his feet here. (Pardon the pun)

02 Nov 2024 17:56:38
Is there any further update on the 2 trialists (cb/ cm) who were offered contracts last week?

Verdant Amiss

1.) 02 Nov 2024 22:52:05
From memory, one of them isn't keen on playing Scotland and the other one potentially close. Neither of them particularly exciting as per John. May have been a later update that I've missed but that's the last I saw.

2.) 03 Nov 2024 10:24:44
If he wasn't keen on playing on Scotland then why did he come on trial to us then?

3.) 03 Nov 2024 10:45:44
Maybe he came for the trial then seen the Knick of the place and thought ‘games a bogey’.

4.) 03 Nov 2024 11:11:00
Or thought I'm no playing for that bald d*ck.

5.) 03 Nov 2024 11:17:17
Why sign for a dead man walking, it’ll be the same in January we’ll really be scrapping the barrow as players will know he’s not going to be here long.

6.) 03 Nov 2024 12:54:10
Yeah took one look at the knick of the place, the excellent training facilities, the fabulous stadium and decided not come. Anybody who hasn`t got a contract by November is hardly expecting to go to a top side firing on all cylinders. If he doesn`t want to come because the team is struggling a bit, which is the reason we would want him, then he is not the type we want or need.

7.) 03 Nov 2024 13:45:10
Not to mention the world class breakfasts.

8.) 03 Nov 2024 14:37:25
If one "isn't keen on scottish football " why come here for a trial?

9.) 03 Nov 2024 16:04:49
We need 11 trialists.

10.) 03 Nov 2024 16:44:34
gers4ever… Wind yer neck in. I was talking about Scotland in general in reply to a previous comment. Moon man ?.

11.) 04 Nov 2024 06:43:28
Come on Rangers shut them up and make it 2 in a row, arrogance and entitlement is nauseating, 6 or 6 eh? Newsflash you’ve still to take a shot, I would looove it if we beat em!

12.) 04 Nov 2024 07:59:48
Wow, are we really looking and trialists at end of October start of November. There's a reason why these trialists don't have a club. We have way to much deadwood at the club we dint need to add to it.

13.) 04 Nov 2024 11:05:08
hope for a striker that doesn't hide or fall on his arse if looked at funny.

14.) 04 Nov 2024 12:41:29
Stuarty maybe you should be a bit clearer about what you are criticising then.

15.) 04 Nov 2024 18:02:15
Following the last update, I won't be sharing anything further on it.

Don't want to be clogging up the page with pointless content.

16.) 05 Nov 2024 13:20:15
We don't need anymore triallists - we have a squad full of them already.

Why are we trialling CB's when we haven't even played one of AC Milans best young CB's from their youth teams, who we were very lucky to get considering the amount of quality clubs that were after his signature.

How long does Nsiala have to wait?
Surely he is better than Propper who is slower than a deed donkey.
And an utter waste of money.

Player trading model had been killing it this season.

Transfer record - 2024
Income €2.95m
Expenditure €16.86m
Overall balance €-13.91m

As you can all see we didn't even make enough money to cover proppers fee never mind the rest.

Very generous of the board to allow players to walk for a pittance well under value and allow other clubs to make a profit on them instead.
And we wonder why Celtic just waltz right through us with ease and struggle to beat bang average sides.

17.) 05 Nov 2024 13:51:15
Up to you bud, but I like your updates??.

18.) 05 Nov 2024 14:11:49
It’s only pointless if it’s not true mate.

19.) 05 Nov 2024 14:18:27
Bring back EHL updates.
Make Rangers Rumours great again.

20.) 05 Nov 2024 15:33:37
Big Sima is flying in the champion league this season for Brest who play him as a CF (his correct position) 3 games 3 goals, easily overpowering big solid CB's.

hopefully he ends up at a club that will utilise his true potential as he is wasted at Brighton, 4 seasons on loan, best wishes to the lad has mad potential and still only 23.

Would love for Rangers to have bought him, but he is well out of our price range at 8-10 million.

21.) 05 Nov 2024 15:35:30
Stromtrooper1 - that you finally admitting that 99% of your posts are pointless because there not true :) LMFAO
Thats the spirit.

22.) 05 Nov 2024 17:04:39
Their there they're now.

23.) 06 Nov 2024 10:45:52
Laudrup we had everything agreed with Brighton for him to come but Sima wouldn't agree personal terms. As far as I'm concerned I thank him for last season and forget about him now.

24.) 06 Nov 2024 15:10:55
Exactly bellshill, he wanted CL,

25.) 06 Nov 2024 15:17:09
I couldn't agree more with LaudrupHagi. The club has undersold many player assets. Helander, Kamara, Cantwell, Davies, all playing great football and some have even moved on for big fees already. I think Kamara moved away from Leeds for about £8m. These guys can all play football, just not for this club as it is currently a basket case.

Clement seemed to make an enemy of Cantwell instantly too. Playing him out of position, substituting him early, then the fans hound him over innocent social media posts. I seen highlights from the B team earlier and Hagi was playing and creating goals. There's Lovelace, Bailey Rice, the young CB from AC Milan, etc. So many are rotting away in the B team because the manager won't give them a chance.

At this stage what player in their right min would want to come here and play for one formation Clement who is destined for the sack? Even the trialist will see the B team is absolutely toxic and killing careers. Everyone at Rangers B needs to do the smart thing and get out for the sake of their own careers.

26.) 07 Nov 2024 14:54:02
OK Michael ??.

27.) 08 Nov 2024 14:42:07
LaudrupHagi, bang on mate I said last year we should play Sima as a Striker.

28.) 09 Nov 2024 15:40:43
Fs Mick we get it you don't like clement. Under previous managers none of the youths got a regular chance either so it isn't exclusive to PC.

Just wanted to ask a few questions to those ITK on the back of what seems like a really positive night for the club.

Firstly was there any mention of nils koppen still having a role to play going forwards? I know there was hints of him possibly no longer being required once the dos or dof etc was confirmed? Or is it expected he will continue to work under Kevin thelwel but with less of remit?

Secondly this one is too ehl. When ferguson was brought in you mentioned the new dos/ dof etc was made aware and approved from 'afar'. Did you know it was thelwel at that point or was it expected to be someone else? Think the afar comment through some of us and had us looking abroad. All though England is technically abroad suppose!

1.) 23 Apr 2025 23:19:56
No specific mention Verdant. Talk was co used on getting the structure right and that KT will be the line manager for the Manager, Women's Manager and Academy Director, and if I understood correctly, for recruiting the medical team including a new Doctor. Personally, my opinion is NK will either revert to heading up scouting and recruitment or be quietly moved on. I'm not particularly fussed either way as I don't know too much about him. EHL will be well placed to comment.

2.) 23 Apr 2025 23:34:04
Koppen is staying and he's now able too the job he came in for.

3.) 24 Apr 2025 00:56:08
Stewart said once the dof etc comes in Koppen will still be here.

4.) 24 Apr 2025 07:17:00
I think it's fair to say that there will be a lot of changes to the set up within the training centre, which will see a significant turnover of staff.

I think NK will be moving on, as in addition to the new Head of Academy there's been rumours of a Head of Scouting.

Given KTs background, it shouldn't to be to difficult to narrow down the rumoured managers shortlist.

5.) 24 Apr 2025 07:40:08
I think we are too early to really judge the work that Koppen does. He was brought in and then asked to put the structure in place and to identify players withe potential who can later be sold for profit. let us be honest there are a few he has already identified and even a few we could sell for profit but more needs to be done and it takes time to get this up and running successfully.
My worry is that in the industry only 40% of purchases end up being successful but as fans we expect every one to be and if they aren't then the recruitment team aren't a success. that wouldn't be the case no matter who is in the role.

16 Mar 2025 17:58:43
Interesting to hear kris boyd talking today about the totally different atmosphere at auchenowie when he visited on Friday compared to his last visit when pc was in charge.

Would be interesting to know why that is and what the difference is.

Verdant Amiss

1.) 16 Mar 2025 18:26:45
To be fair, it was said when Gio left, when Beale left and now that Clement has left. The players have been the biggest problem.

2.) 16 Mar 2025 19:30:41
Correct mols that's the issue the players.

3.) 16 Mar 2025 20:19:29
U r right mols.

02 Mar 2025 00:34:27
If i was ferguson I would be in that dressing room telling the players (especially those whose integrity is in question) that their previous and current behaviour and actions are impervious to him and his team as they will be in place to the end of the season regardless of what they do or complain about.
Id also be making it abundantly clear to them that Rangers football club will still be here long after their careers have ended which for some wil coinicide with the day they leave our football club.
I hope that if what ehl says is true regarding a certain group that for the sake of the rest they are dealt with appropriately.

Verdant Amiss

1.) 02 Mar 2025 01:24:09
These players will show up in the Europa. Would you burst your balls to play in a meaningless game? When the European stage is round the corner to sell yourself. Don't be surprised if we don't win this tie!

2.) 02 Mar 2025 02:53:25
How can Ferguson challenge them on any such behaviour he lead the revolt against Le Guen.

3.) 02 Mar 2025 07:11:52
Fans wanted rid of le guen

He goes Walter came back and all players played lifted their game and we re took the league in 98/ 99 season.

Majority of these players just aren't playing for the club no matter who's in charge.

So he's every right to challenge them.

4.) 02 Mar 2025 08:03:52
Stig he couldn't leave for Walter to win in 98/ 99 when he never arrived for years later to replace McLeish.

5.) 02 Mar 2025 08:29:53
Twacoos, I've seen a few posters comparing things to Ferguson and PLG.

I honestly don't have any problems with leadership teams calling out / challenging management - it's why they exist.

As I've said, my issues this time are around when they done it and how they done it.

Wasn't about the club during the PLG times, however would imagine it was done differently.

6.) 02 Mar 2025 08:45:56
Pick6 i'm Only 10 years out mate give me a break its sunday ?

Walter did come back in though ? and players did raise their game which was my point and won the league
dates are irrelevant ?.

7.) 02 Mar 2025 08:46:04
EHL i agree with you fully although that is only acceptable when the leadership group are true leaders with fight and passion.

Not the cowardly snakes we have.

8.) 02 Mar 2025 09:24:29
I don't have any issue with the players (leadership group) going to the board. As been said this is common structure in place to have a leadership group and as pointed out ferguson did the same to le guen. I think the important part though is the players doing it b to le guen had been performing well under mcleish and had won trophy's for the club and regarded as successful. The issue now is there is a group of players who arguably haven't achieved much and now showing they are disrespecting the club by picking and choosing when it suits them to follow tactics and actually apply themselves and not just under one manager which was the case when le guen was in as pointed out they turned it around when smith came back. There is obviously an bad egg in the camp that's influencing others and I just hope it gets dealt with to stop the rot.

20 Nov 2024 21:20:11
The article with goldson through the week is quite cryptic if you read into it. He says he was asked to leave by the club but confirmed it wasn't clement and that clement was brilliant with him. He then speaks about why he was left on the bench at the end of season which coincided with the dip in form for the team which started with the motherwell game in March. There was rumours at the time clement had told certain players they were no longer wanted but I always felt that didn't sound right for a title winning manager to do that knowing the potential slide in attitude but if what goldson is saying is true then clement has effectively been the scapegoat for the board who've pulled the trigger early doors and not wanted to be the face of that message which is unfair on clement. It would also suggest why he wants to stay and see it through especially if he knows there is changes at board level coming that are going to foster a better environment. I think the January window will be interesting as ever and despite the results I'm very much of the opinion that clement should stay and be given a fair chance.

02 Sep 2024 20:40:44
May be totally barking up the wrong tree here, but is the fact that clement signed the extension to his contract is an indicator of possible new ownership? I'm not clued up on the business side of things, but if Bennett knows it's coming and why he's been doing what he's doing to make things more attractive, then is it possible the extension has been a way of making it harder for a new owner to come in and get rid given they will have to pay him more of a pay off.

Again, may be totally barking up the wrong tree but with the investment rumours today it became apparent to me this might be why.

Is it a possibility the person who you believe has accepted the role is also on gardening leave until a certain date so can't officially sign a contract at the moment

I'm just thinking back to your comments a few months ago when you said the short list was 2 and then became 3 owing to circumstances which was at the same time Rose was let go from leipzig.

Also white horse asked the otherv day mentioned a German and asa has continually believed it to be a German.

If going by johns other post confirming terzic saying no that would make the shortlist of 3 terzic, rose and schmit.

I think what's clear that there is a certain amount of misinformation going about that's creating a level of hysteria. I am not suggesting the misinformation is deliberate or even known to be misinformation but I think we need to trust the process. These guys don't seem to be the type to walk away and they are so far in already it would be incredible if they did given the presence they have had at nearly every game this year so far.

Is this just cause players and staff are getting a good feeling about the new owners? I've always felt the players are affected by off field business and I think you seen it recently with man City with their losing steak coinciding with the uncertainty around what charges or point deductions they would face.

I've felt for years our players have suffered from a lack of leadership or direction at board level and maybe now feeling the positivity coming out of the new owners pretty much being confirmed.

Rangers have fans all over the world. Not just Scotland. And not just Scottish. It would be very sad if that was the case as we would never progress without different view points and outside perspectives.

You may be outside Glasgow and Scotland but your most definitely not an outsider!
