I feel Koppen will have to do a good job as hell be gone if we sign more dungers like Bajrami. Bit harsh maybe as all can't be a success first season.

Colonel the guys like EHL and others confirmed that Koppen has new role, I believe from what was said that Thelwell is overseeing the signings, it maybe that it could be players that Koppen has identified in the past but he is now overseeing I think it is the running of the academy, ladies and not sure about what capacity in the men's team but not recruitment as confirmed by EHL.

DoF would make decisions probably but the signings are identified by recruitment team basing their choices on what the team needs. Club website said Koppen was still responsible for Rangers transfer strategy but would also take on the Academy etc. so DoF has final say and would be responsible for negotiations etc. my take on how it would work anyway.

Your right Angus the strategy but different from last season is he won't have the main say it will be Thelwell. Patrick Stewart I recall was quick to point that out in his interview a few months back, my reading is we certainly want change in the way we operated that side of things as Koppen been given pretty much a new role.

Aberdeen would probably take around 3 million for miovski from another league but would want a far higher fee from us so I would say no to that. 5-8 million is crazy talk for an Aberdeen player and personally I wouldn't give any Scottish team good money for a player. Maybe Clement and Koppen know what they’re doing. Maybe Koppen has tracked some of these players for a while. Maybe they even know more than us. I’m quite excited by some of the names, most of whom I’ve never heard of admittedly, but I have a certain degree of trust in this manager and his staff that I didn’t have with their predecessors. Time will tell.

Blue dreamer o get what you're saying but just because he's doing well for Aberdeen with little pressure doesn't mean he'll cut it at Ibrox same for shankland too. I think the only player that gets in Celtics team that they signed from spl is Taylor and he's not great so if they are not picking up "the best" talent from Scottish teams but still winning loads then why would we. Fact is we've been able to see these guys up close and the club/ manager doesn't seem interested.

Lads, can we really afford to take chances on unproven ability in the SPL? I get that the foreign market offers some hidden gems but Dessers doesn't scare any defence and Danillo may prove useful if he stays fit so why not get Miovski or Shankland to battle it out on a winters night in Paisley and Perth, they've proved they can do it with lesser service around them so you'd hope they'd do more with us.
Would either of them be better than Danillo or Lammers for Euro nights, i don't know but winning the league's what matters now so get the roll up the sleeves guys in and get back to wear we belong domestically before thinking of Europe.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed success when it comes to transfer business. Rangers have signed a lot of players from Scotland over the past 15 years and the vast majority of them have been utter rubbish.

If Beale is so against this then why did he come back? This would have been discussed at that stage and he’s have been aware of this all through the summer aswell.
I do find it strange to a point dof after manager as likelihood is dof will want things done his way which usually means his choice of manager. As soon as things go wrong the gaffer would be gone, to show everyone he means business n wants things done his way and to a standard.

As I`ve said before a DOF does more than just recruitment and we would need someone with football knowledge to be in charge of this side of it . Just like a Director of Finance or whatever. If he had a record like Sir Walter he may have the right to some imput but he`s done nothing except to show how much we need a DOF because his daft wee boy in a sweetie shop attitude to signings has screwed us and him. The coaching team that he has brought up can`t organise us defensively or even improve our set piece play so he doesn`t exactly have a track record for selecting players or non players. Angus, all but one of they managers got sacked mate. 4/ 5 of them also went greeting to the board to get a manager sacked, when it's blatantly obvious since that a huge part of the problem is the players themselves. I know you always like to look for the positives angus, but where are the positives with tav? His legs have gone, his goals have dried up massively, he wasn't always the greatest at defending, so please tell me reasons why he should stay and remain captain?
As saying 5/ 6 managers wanted him captain doesn't help, it needs to be on merit surely? Not just because he always has been. Angus tav was one of my favourites at one point, but I sit pretty close to advertising boards and honestly watching him really struggle to get back some times last season was pitiful mate, he looked as though he was running in slow motion mate.

BB the fact the manager got sacked and that we didn't win the league wasn't Tavs fault. saying he has seen off 5 managers now argument is an idiotic one and why would they pick him and pick him as captain if they didn't see him as the right person; not just because he was there.
If you watched his years before 'his legs went' there was a midfielder and/ or CB covering his forays upfield as his attacking prowess was one managers wanted to use.
His goals dried up last season as we didn't get penalties and he was being slightly more defensive. I also don't think he would have started as often if we had other RBs who stayed fit. is that a positive for him. he also was 5th for goals (4) and 2nd for assists (8). not bad for an over the hill player having a bad season.
I am not saying I would play him as starting RB and tbh I don't think Martin is saying that either just that he will be important. However it gets my goat up when I hear him getting the blame for never winning a title. and his legs have gone. do you not think a manager would see that and take him out. was he jogging back as someone else was meant to cover across and they weren't doing their job. truth is we don't know.
