Of course we have good reason to worry, that doesn’t mean we are definitely going to have another 2012 nightmare . However we need to be very careful, all expenditure needs to be carefully scrutinised. This is not a good time for playing Hagi’s wage and getting nothing in return.
Agents tend to steer their players away from clubs that there are rumours of a financial shortfall.

We are all very happy with the players that we got rid of . Some were aged, others were happy to take wage without giving anything back . But we need to remember that we were very pleased with many of these players when we signed them first . Club was as very pleased and paid decent money and paid them good wages . I am more in hope than knowledge that half the players signed will contribute much to Rangers . We might have been better buying less and buying better footballers.

I wouldn’t be very interested in free transfers . If they are any use, they are far from fee, as they demand a small fortune signing fee .
Many “free transfers, haven’t played for about 6 Mths and it will take half the season to get them fit and ready to play.

Times have changed, Rangers were a big team and a big club, but that was at least 12 yrs ago . Up to then a youngster joining Rangers knew he was joining a squad full of top class Internationals and likely to be winning cups or the league regularly. Nowadays if leaving another SPL club he is moving from a squad of players who are a lot closer to the standard of Rangers players . Rangers have expectations of competing for cups and SPL but not winning as regularly. Parents of top class youngsters see playing in Europe as a better training ground than either of big clubs in Glasgow.

Henderson is certainly not the type of transfer in that we need and if we wasted any time trying to get him it would be a serious waste of time. If agents thought Rangers were interested in spending the massive amount needed to pay Henderson’s wages it would give a false impression that we had money to pay bigger wages than we can . This could affect other transfers, and prevent us getting the players at the right money.

I was at a shoot organised after Charles and Diana’s wedding.
He promised us faithfully that he wouldn’t be leaving Rangers for a very long time, He was gone within weeks.

Angus, true, the policies and directions are laid down for others to implement but if the people whose responsibilities include laying down policies also have to moderate implementation.
if not present, then those who implement the directives may take shortcuts as they don’t know if when the new Director is in place h won’t have different emphasis and so the whole thing can become shoddy . Hopefully positions will be filled quickly with proper Rangers people.

Surely it must be time to get new faces into Board, with so many leaving we must be very scarce in the necessary brain power and football knowledge to run a club the size of Rangers successfully. If we can operate successfully with so many top positions empty. , maybe we should close some of these positions down and let others take on some of their responsibilities.
