Right lads, result aside, that was an excellent watch. Can never understand why people bemoan Scottish football, 90 minutes of chaos on the park and thought we played brilliantly in spells. Defensive errors for sure and given we are short on CB's maybe understandable but I've got to say and I know I'm getting pelters for this, the ref had an nightmare today. That was never a penalty as the hibs lad ran into the back of Hagi on a 50/ 50 ball. You see these decisions happening from time to time but var should if been all over it. Can put that down to an honest mistake but the 3rd Hibs goal should never have stood as whoever it was defending that header was completely taken out by their lad miller. Didn't even attempt to get the ball, just took out our lad and knew exactly what he was doing. Disgraceful football and yet another shocking ref performance. See if this week's VAR show highlights it.

Joking aside tho, it was exact same team as against the tims and we were 0-2 up. From there the boys were happy to canter through the game and gave up our press and dropped abit deeper. Hibs made a couple of changes and PC didn't react at all. Shameful from all concerned.

If for neutrals shambolic is entertaining then fine. After we went 2 up it was just poor passing and defensive errors all round. Fair play to Hibs they made the changes and went for it rather than fold.

the first 20mins or so was great football by us.
After that it was piss poor. passing going straight out of play from both teams. back defending, very stale.
IMO its not a penalty either. Hagi gets in front of the Hibs player and shields the ball, the Hibs player is not in possession of the ball. Hibs player takes out Hagi and John Beaton again goes again us. VAR then stands with the ref. How man Celtic fans were in the VAR room again?
Its a disgrace. and there's no point days later the VAR show coming out and saying they got it wrong, how does that help us. the level of var and refs in this country is a disgrace.
More so, shortly before the Hibs penalty, Raskin is ragdolled in the box at a corner and nothing is done about it.
It should not have been a close game. Any time it is a close game with us, the ref/ var has their say and almost always goes against us.
Kelly looked a bombscare. Raskin didn't have his best game however every time Raskin touched a Hibs player they fell over and got a freekick, Yet Hibs players were allowed to be aggressive all game.
Igamane looks a real gem! very unlucky at the end to save the day (only took about 2 or 3 fouls from the hibs defender as well lol)
Getting really sick of it all though.
Can we play all our games on a Thursday evening please!

the mistakes make it entertaining though even though we should have kept pressing and won.
Just watched the highlights of the Liverpool game and all the goals were caused by defenders not tracking runners, poor closing of midfielders etc and people are saying that was entertaining. so for a few million more per player the quality of defending wasnt any better.

That's great Mystar maybe we should ask the SFA to limit games to 30 minutes so we'd be more competitive. Games are 90+ mins and we need to perform for that.
Our team really lack a killer instinct that's for sure.

For a neutral it was an exciting game, But Rangers should’ve been out of site before Hibs got a very soft penalty and that prick Beaton couldn’t wait to give it, For me Hagi gets to the ball before the Hibs player who goes down as if been shot, How can you go from playing Celtic of the park 3 days previous to that showing, This inconsistency from our players is nothing short of diabolical, We need 5/ 6 first team starters over the next two windows That’s if PC is still in charge and we have the funds, But for the moment we can only hope that things get better soon, But at times it’s a hard watch. ?????????.

I thought some of the link up play in the first half from the middle to forward was excellent.
The issue was a lot of these attacks broke down in the final 3rd with some poor decision making.
A few players also never hit the heights of the Celtic game.
And then the defensive calamities were on show for all to see.

Newman you are right but we need 5/ 6 players of the same quality who can seamlessly slip into the first team. Just buying more players and getting rid of the ones form yesterday still means they would need to be able to preform at the same level every 3 days. It is that which is proving difficult at the moment and causing that inconsistency. we visibly tired yesterday due to the work put into the Celtic win.

Righty, on Tav so I know this is going to get some disagreement but.
Being fair, we should all recognize the fantastic job he's done for us over the years, the times he's been the only one dragging us forward and having a go, the times he's stepped up with a brilliant free kick or a sweet cross to pull us out of a loss or draw. We can also all see that he hasn't been at his best for a while. Fair enough so far?
It seems to me that we've been so reliant on him running into space and doing his stuff on the right wing for so long that when he's off it, it makes a huge difference in how we perform. The Dundee game shows us that when our left wing does it's stuff and they were excellent btw, if a bit unlucky, that the pressure on Tav to do Tav things is lessened and he actually had a good game. So yeah, maybe he isn't the same dynamic player of a couple of years ago but with less pressure on him to push us forward, he can still contribute a lot this season and be a proper asset.

We can't put two players on him to cover for Tav. We would then be exposed elsewhere against their quality. Why don't we just do the common sense thing and replace Tav.
Who cares what he does against the rest. What he does against Celtic is the most important and is what will give us a chance at winning the league. Has there ever been a season where we have won the league and not taken anything in the old firm games?

If I'm being honest, he's not as bad as some are making out, but as soon as he's up against the tims, his arse drops and he has an absolute nightmare. It's all very well playing OK against the likes of dundee, but when we need him in the big games, he turns into a quivering wreck and he has a mare.

I think we are just asking for Rangers to do what Celtic do to us. how many times does one of our team get 1-2-1 against Taylor; very rarely as they swarm around us like flies. If Taylor or Johnston gets forward then McGregor gets across to cover and Maeda and Kyogo even sprint back 30 yards to help and cover. we don't so that we leave our FBs 1 on 1 and even 2 on 1 at times and expect them to get it sorted. both our FBs always seem to react late when the ball comes across, remember Barisic and Abada. So how do we stop the ball at source or get our FBs to be more alert. Sitting on McGregor in cup final really worked as they couldn't find their frontmen so do we do that every OF game; just get Sterling to sit on him and that is it. also if we want our FBs to get forward then someone needs to be ready to cover the long diagonal. we never have managed to do that in any game.
A different player may do it better, by sitting back but we lose the forward element then.

Wanted to say well done to Morton for making a game of it. Would have preferred being more dominant but just goes to show, when you're out there on the pitch, you're not playing against stats and you're not playing against salaries, you're playing against men. Men with the added motivation of being able to tell their grand-kids some day about the time they skelpt the Rangers. Was a good lesson that game, shows where we need to put the work in. Would love us to be a bit braver going forward. We see it with other teams all the time, very little possession but when they get it, 3 passes and they're having a go. Feel the lads don't trust each other yet.

Hopefully both would qualify depending on the other groups as the best 3rd placed teams from 4 of the 6 groups qualify. If we were very unlucky not to get a 3rd place then I would imagine England would take the 2nd group place and qualify because their game v the Czecks they only lost 1-0 to them and we lost 2-0. Which knowing Scotland could may well happen and we miss qualifying by a bawhair. Fingers crossed the other groups 3rd placed teams finish on 3 pts at least 2 of them anyway and both us and England would qualify on 4pts and that scenario wouldn't matter.

Don’t underestimate Croatia they still have a lot of quality players and were unlucky not to beat the Czechs. Scotland played well on Friday however we still don’t have a player of the quality of Modric and they have more clinical players up front.

Yes they are still a very dangerous team Biffo but they ain't what they used to be. We won't be underestimating their ability but we have a very good chance if our team plays to our ability then I'm confident we can get a result.

Gets a bit silly here sometimes with people having a go without doing the research. Kings problems in SA stem from a tax bill. He had a written agreement with the tax authorities for x-amount, they then turned around and demanded 3 times the amount. He decided to fight it and rightly so imho. The courts are not exactly unbiased here, there or anywhere. As for court cases here, King has been practically alone in his willingness to fight on rangers behalf. You can think him decisive and a trouble maker if you like, I don't see him that way. It's not an ego thing, it's a willingness to do the hard stuff and I for one appreciate it. Btw, what's wrong with wanting to safeguard the club and become a rangers hero? People, and no disrespect meant to anyone, seem to be having a go at him for wanting things to improve. I don't get it.

Think big Phil will be given the time he needs to get the players and imprint his style on the team. Also think koppen will unearth more gems over the next couple of years and the fabled player trading model will start to show some fruit. I'm an optimist though. Been needing changed for ages, the guys in charge have proven often that they haven't a clue though so don't hold your breath bud. You can understand that before, the old firm has been perceived as the only show in town and the governing body has leveraged it by restricting the league and maximizing the amount of games between us but the tv deal is so low now, we have to look at an alternative structure that hopefully brings on the game and makes the league more attractive.
