Sky are reporting it now that Hagi is a done deal. Loan deal with option to buy.

scottyger

1.) 30 Jan 2020 15:02:57
Awesome signing! Wow, his highlight reel is astounding. That's an inspiring signing that one. If there really is a buy option, he went for £3.5m to Genk, but his value is £5.5, which makes him quite pricey if he is a success. All the same, delighted we are his shop window for the rest of the season.

I would love to see Shankland arrive too. I think he would be a great loyal Ranger. Priceless that.

Any chance of a big name, bust the budget fella too? Am I just being greedy? :)

2.) 30 Jan 2020 15:24:10
If he is such a talent why are genk letting him out on loan?

3.) 30 Jan 2020 15:36:58
Think he will be class but please do t go buy youtube. It made pena look good. Strange that he only just signed 4 year deal for them in summer tho and already leaving onloan.

4.) 30 Jan 2020 15:44:51
Shem aye, plus we are skint an no mystery billionare as rumoured last year coming in January.

Was supposed to be a Chinese investor.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 15:53:31
Let's not get carried away just now cause of his surname. He can't get into the Genk team but if he is as half as good as his dad then he'll do well. Need a striker tho.

6.) 30 Jan 2020 16:07:43
He went to Genk for €8m according to the papers.

7.) 30 Jan 2020 16:32:08
SirStruth he has played 19 games so far for Genk, that's half the season. I can assure played decent in those games. Always reasons for loans, Hagi signing could mean Kent stays wider and more into games rather than trying to play wide but also be the creative 10. Hagi will be good signing, plus a forward then its been a good window. Last year euros he was stand out player.

8.) 30 Jan 2020 16:38:14
Can the lad play RF? 👍 Pretty sure that Chinese investor is involved with the club. He's bank rolling the wifeys football team.

9.) 30 Jan 2020 16:39:41
Hes a can fill that RW role we are crying out for and seems to have a bit of physcial strenght around him. No risk here as its just a loan.
Hopefully we go get shankland in before friday then il be happy.

10.) 30 Jan 2020 16:41:32
Bluebilly, I raised the same point about discussed investment, John25 replied saying that the investment was to be around the Spring of the year, he's normally on the ball with these sort of things. Let's just wait and see what happens before Saturday's signing deadline, none of us really know what's happening at present, we have to trust our Manager and DOF on this.

11.) 30 Jan 2020 16:41:36
Dont know much about Ianis but looks good on youtube like most players do lol. Just wondering why his club are letting him leave after only 6 months there.

12.) 30 Jan 2020 17:28:34
Hopefully he can play RF, we badly need to sort that position. 👍.

13.) 30 Jan 2020 17:56:16
1872RFC55

3 goals and 4 assists in 14 appearances a league far better than our own.

Only 21 years of age.

Stats are decent and similarly to Ryan Kent last season, stats do not tell a players full story - Kent many times starts a move and ends without him assisting or scoring, but was vital to the passage in play.

Lets look at the positives eh.

14.) 30 Jan 2020 18:04:35
Has any saw Hagi boy play iv not but how do yous no he's a wow player.

15.) 30 Jan 2020 18:51:17
At 21 with 10 caps for Romania and a CV including Genk and Fiorentina not to mention 7 goals and assists in 14 in the Jupiler League as a bit-part player?

The only reason he doesn't play every match there is the manager just doesn't like him.

This is a baller. Make no mistake.

16.) 30 Jan 2020 19:16:16
If Hagi Jr can adapt to the rubbishty hammer throwing league he will be rubbish hot.

17.) 30 Jan 2020 19:22:56
Cheersrfcrb1872 hel do me way that cv.

18.) 30 Jan 2020 21:32:37
He is such a good player that his team loaned him out and replaced him with eboue kouasi who can't get on the celtic bench.

19.) 30 Jan 2020 21:40:29
why did his team let him go on loan and sign a celtic flop in his place,

20.) 30 Jan 2020 23:37:10
A Celtic flop in his place? He's an Attacking mid that Celtic flop is a defensive midfielder. He didn't start many games because Genk play 343.

21.) 31 Jan 2020 00:45:43
It would appear, after a failed move to Fiorentina, where Hagi wasn't afforded the game time promised he moved to Genk to play, for £3.5million.

His transfer value since then, which rises by performance stats is now £5+mil. Value is a good indicator of a player. El buffallo is currently valued around the same on Transfermarkt as Hagi, and we all know what Alfie has done to grow that value.

I am very excited about Hagi, I didn't only base my Wow on youtube. I read a wee bit about his achievements and reports on him. I'm delighted he is here. that's the kind of signing I was hoping to see in a Rangers jersey tomorrow.

Shankland next please :)

Mibbe David Silva might dae us a turn, can Stevie not get Torres to phone him? :) lol.

22.) 31 Jan 2020 09:40:31
Pulling the young lads stats up does nt tell a story, Kent’s stats last year were poor and we wanted him back big time. Players like that offer much more than just stats, they beat a man, make space for others etc. if he’s as good or better than Kent we re laughing. imagine we end up with two Kent’s basically, with a top striker in front of them. If it does nt work out he goes back. good business loan with option it’s very popular these days.

23.) 31 Jan 2020 09:49:17
Said this to a few of my pals but i think we are preparing for Morelos departure at the end of the season. i'd play Hagi in a CF role with Kent on the left and Stewart on the right and play like Liverpool play with Firminio playing CF with the pace on either side pushing forward could be quite lethal. But at this moment i think we will play our usual formation, with Hagi in the kind of Right Inside forward role playing more as a number 10. on paper we play the 4-3-3 but in game this acts more as a 4-3-2-1 with our full backs offering our width.

31 Jan 2018 13:17:21
Am I the only one thinking that this ~£8m is a lot of cash that we should take? Ok, we wouldn’t actually get the whole amount with 10% going to Helsinki and whatever the agent fees are, so maybe take anything up to 15% off any transfer fee.

What if Morelos gets a serious injury and we get nothing? What if his form just goes downhill or his attitude towards the club goes downhill - he’d be worth pennies. I think he’s a replaceable player that we need to cash in on. Even we get a loan player in to replace him until the summer.

scottyger

1.) 31 Jan 2018 13:58:07
Scottyger --I bet your glass is always half empty lol

2.) 31 Jan 2018 15:11:16
Record saying that we are in talks with McBurnie from Swansea. If it comes off, then we are very close to getting a full team of bears lol

3.) 31 Jan 2018 15:23:03
Hujess, I’m not being negative, I’m thinking of the positives that this fee could bring. Just because we’re being offered £8m does not mean that he’ll be worth £12m in 6 months.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 15:24:49
Wud take mcburnie

5.) 31 Jan 2018 15:25:23
I hear Sunderland were sniffing about him in a potential loan deal till end of season when contract expires. Hope we get him his scoring record is phenomenal ⚽️🌟

6.) 31 Jan 2018 15:34:51
McBurnie isn’t out of contract until next summer so wouldn’t be loan to buy this year

7.) 31 Jan 2018 15:48:09
He’s contracted till 2019

8.) 31 Jan 2018 15:56:37
His scoring record is awful when been put out on loan. people just wanting him because he's a big Bluenose.

9.) 31 Jan 2018 16:07:31
Your missing the point cawfrc. Look at the standard of the teams he's been on loan at they are hardly dominant teams! The EPL teams have some of the best young talent in the world and McBurnie was top scorer and player of the year in the EPL u23s for a team that won its division. Being a Bear is just a bonus!

10.) 31 Jan 2018 16:53:27
Am no missing the point. Av seen him play. not for me

11.) 31 Jan 2018 17:07:10
If your judging a 21 yr old Scot from a few games in one of the best leagues in the world then I'll happily take the opinions of EPL managers, Murty and Allen over you caw. No offence.

12.) 31 Jan 2018 17:14:17
BigMarv I agree

13.) 31 Jan 2018 17:48:53
Listen if morales goes and if mcburnie or devante come in stop with the negative be positive and who ever it is give them nothan but a positive welcome the 2 players in question are very young still learning there trade so let's kick on with a good second half campaign agree bears

14.) 31 Jan 2018 18:08:09
McBurnie apparently going to Sunderland

29 Jan 2018 22:56:33
Report in the Express that Morelos is wanted by Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande for £6m. Apparently contact has been made. I’d love him to stay, but that’s a very good offer for a player that only cost £1m.

scottyger

1.) 29 Jan 2018 23:16:56
If true about the £6m then he will be gone can’t afford to turn that sort of money down

2.) 29 Jan 2018 23:18:38
Seen that.

Taking it with a pinch of salt though as the Express haven’t even got the right amount we purchased him for in the article. They say 1.5m. It was 1m as you say.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 23:36:27
Yes, if true then finances may dictate this one however I would secure an adequate replacement first as clubs will rip us off big time if they know we have received a big fee for Morelos! Also we have just now reached the stage where we have genuinely good options up top so we can’t go until the end of the season with only Cummings! Hopefully our new scouting dept. will have the next Morelos lined up!

4.) 29 Jan 2018 23:47:43
If he were to go I’d be negotiating hard btw and get it up above £7M with a sell on, peanuts to the riches of the Chinese clubs.

Also one suggestion for a replacement would be a young Turkish striker currently playing for Nimes in Ligue 2 in France, Umut Bozok, 21 years old and great potential 👍🏽

5.) 29 Jan 2018 23:49:11
would love him to go now scottyger especialy now he seems to be looking for a way out aswell could be doing with the cash would replace him with it and maybe get a new cb with the dosh but wouldn't also be botherd if we kept sqaud we have even with wilson leaving he was pure fairy of a cb for rangers class 👍

6.) 29 Jan 2018 23:49:52
Would be a decent profit - wonder how much of it is the Celtic press propaganda machine - they always like a bad news rangers story the day Celtic have something to crow about

7.) 30 Jan 2018 00:03:30
Replace him with Devante Cole Chris Cadden and a new CB and that could be money well spent

8.) 30 Jan 2018 00:41:18
I see various are now reporting we’ve knocked back 5. And we’ve been now offered 6.5m.

We should be holding out for 10m or as close as we can get to that. These clubs can afford it and if they want their man before the window closes they will bid accordingly.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 01:48:11
Grab the money and run, never been his biggest fan anyway, bank the £6.5m and go out and the boy from Fleetwood and a centre half!

10.) 30 Jan 2018 04:59:50
This seems as true as the £8m that Salzburg were going to bid for Barry McKay.

11.) 30 Jan 2018 06:17:27
Well we knocked back £5.3Millon for morales from the same Chinese club and they came back with £6.5Millon with add ons, these clubs have plenty of money i would tell them another million and he's yours but I personally don't think he would move to China even for the amazing wages, he has already stated he wants a move to England Spain or Italy, he also wants in the Columbia team and he knows he won't get a sniff playing for them if he goes to China so no chance, forget the big money bears and be prepared for £2Millon maybe £3millon max from English championship club in the summer, remember a certain McKay who was being looked by German clubs for £6Million only to be sold for £500,000, less than 6 months later, so I wouldn't get to excited fellow Bears.

12.) 30 Jan 2018 06:56:35
Like the sound of Cadden Murty4me, always rated him.
If we could get in hI’m, Souttar from Hearts £2M-£3M and a striker to replace AM then I’d do business.

13.) 30 Jan 2018 09:28:17
I'd sell, for 7.5, get mcburnie and Taylor in

14.) 30 Jan 2018 09:46:14
If this is True. Something abit off in my opinion. He will b sold. Take the cash. Pay off some debt ie loans and get a few in perm. Striker, defender and rb. That money can't be turned down.

15.) 30 Jan 2018 15:49:34
MY RWB would be Cadden who can also play further up when needed, McBurnie and Devante Cole would both be affordable with that money coming in sign them both? CB Heneghan or Bartley or Souttar or He dry would do me bearing in mind any arrival is behind Bates McCrorie and Martin unless otherwise stated by Murty

@Gazgers if Anthony Gilinsky is booked into HDV, a quick Google search brings up his LinkedIn page where he appears to be the international scout of Royal Antwerp FC.

One or two posts about Shankland again being a good option for us, but does anyone think Bojan Miovski would be a far better option? 4 years younger at 24 and seems to be getting better and better.

scottyger

1.) 10 Oct 2023 12:08:46
Long time reader, first time poster - go gentle. We need to get back to buying players in our own league. Yes, we will be funding these club, but they aren't going to accept £4million for a player and go back out and spend that on a single replacement. Our league isn't going to improve if the big two don't spend within our own country. In years gone bye our spending has funded stadium upgrades and player purchases (that we have them gone on to buy) . Scottish names get banded about and rubbishd every transfer window, but our unwillingness to spend £2-4million (and that goes for them too) has seen a number of very good young Scottish players go down south and to Italy etc. I understand the pressure here limits time to allow young players to settle in, but it is too our disadvantage in the long run. So, long story short, we should be looking at Miovski, Shankland, and others.

2.) 10 Oct 2023 12:20:49
get both.

3.) 10 Oct 2023 12:57:36
McCoist - 355 goals.
Him and Hateley upfront - some strike force.
Going back it’s got to be Colin Stein.

4.) 10 oct 2023 15:48:50
all i'm sure about is shankland wiuld be on around 6 -8 goals by now imo,

5.) 10 Oct 2023 17:16:39
He has scored one goal this season in the league at hearts.

Looks like Goldson has signed a new contract with Rangers.

scottyger

1.) 01 Jun 2022 13:02:29
Well I never seen that coming. Goldson signs 4 year contract.

2.) 01 Jun 2022 13:07:35
4 year deal signed. Great news!

3.) 01 Jun 2022 13:11:17
Great news. He has came to his senses. Him and Souttar will be class.

4.) 01 Jun 2022 13:12:33
I wonder how much we’re paying him though as apparently he was holding out for a lot of money so wonder how much we gave him as I think he wanted about £40k a week.

5.) 01 Jun 2022 13:48:06
Stevie paying him what's acceptable to him and the club.

31 Jan 2018 19:24:44
Checking for an update on Morelos. Type into Google “Morelos Beijing” (If that’s even who the team is) and all that appears is twitter links to Celtic pages! Absolutely unbelievable. actually, no, it’s very believable. and very embarrassing.

scottyger

1.) 31 Jan 2018 20:11:59
Did you try writing it in Chinese?

2.) 31 Jan 2018 21:34:21
number 28 with fried rice, that's the only Chinese I know lol

31 Jan 2018 18:27:46
Ollie McBurnie signs for Sunderland. That’s the end of that one then. Next.

scottyger

1.) 31 Jan 2018 18:36:13
Were did you see that

2.) 31 Jan 2018 18:47:40
Nothing on any media outlet about him signing for Sunderland - if rangers are in for him, he will join 100% . If we do loan him then would indicate Morelos is gone . Should be an interesting close to the window

3.) 31 Jan 2018 19:21:30
According to sky sports news he's off to Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

As1974 what's with the complaints of signing someone at 32? He’s free! Has clearly been signed due to Katic’s injury and will no doubt do us a big turn during that time with his experience. Heard enough about “give young lads a chance” - we are trying to win trophies, not create a team of 18 year olds with zero experience. If they’re good enough, they’ll get their chance when SG says it’s time.

The Stuck. Don’t just focus on his Burnley stats. Look at the bigger picture. Watford and Derby were the teams he was scoring for. Looking at these seasons, both were high up their tables and playing attacking football, by the looks of their stats. Burnley, not so much right now. We’re an attacking him and could suit him perfectly.

Ger4life He scored a lot of goals for Derby before signing for Burnley. He’s clearly not had a great time at Burnley, so long as he does it for Rangers, I’m not fussed. He can clearly score.

JohnnyG Could be I suppose.

However, if that’s happening now then it’s possibly because we overspent on rubbish during the summer. Surely with what we spent during the summer, we’d have been able to pay out £600k to Aberdeen - they just wanted even more money at the time. Since we’ve not much of a transfer kitty available right this minute, then it seems that business is being done on the cheap until the season ticket money is available.
