So Hibs are reportedly interested in Cammy Bell. Should we sell to them? (Re Scott Allen saga) . :-) )

smrfc

1.) 13 May 2016 10:12:02
If we get a fee for him and get him off wage bill then yes defo who cares where he goes.

2.) 13 May 2016 10:15:13
I'd rather we let him run down the last year of his contract than sell to that shower.

3.) 13 May 2016 10:16:33
I agree with Bigtrfc, let's get him away to anyone. He is getting a big wage for nothing. I'd play liam kelly before him.

4.) 13 May 2016 10:40:58
Swap deal, Cammy Bell for Cummings and some cash, i would take that deal anyday.

5.) 13 May 2016 11:12:28
Their position next year determines their transfer policy.

Stay down = selling off at least one or two of main assets. In which we'd be open to enquiring if the manager sees fit of course.

Coming up = they won't sell again to "nearest rivals".

6.) 13 May 2016 12:11:46
Dont want Cummings we don't need him when we have McKay who has better abilty and the same pace. And O Halloran there to that can do the same job

Punt Bell to Bristol City if we get 250 000 or in the ball park try and persuade Bentley to come.

7.) 13 May 2016 13:05:18
Whatateam punt them bell take cumming, and how much should we charge them on top, lol lol.

8.) 13 May 2016 13:35:34
Is Bentley not at Southend.

9.) 13 May 2016 13:59:04
Cummings would be good for back up I think.

10.) 13 May 2016 15:54:16
250 000 for bell lol be lucky to get rid of him.

11.) 13 May 2016 16:50:52
Only swap bell for cummings or mcginn if not refuse to sell. remember scott allen. its principils people. i'm sure cammy bell could be a good swap for young boy out spfl. craig sibbald maybe. defo don't sell or unless hibs pay treble what we wanting.

We are also linked with Oman Sow, who I think would b a great signing - free in summer I think. Much better signing than O'H. More skill, more goals.

smrfc

1.) 22 Jan 2016 10:44:26
Expect a 1k bid to go in today followed by a 1.5k bid. Don't want to get held to ransom.

2.) 22 Jan 2016 11:35:46
Thecampbell stop with the humor your gonnae get me the sack!

3.) 22 Jan 2016 11:08:25
U for real osman sow is like waghorn if anythin o'hallorans pace is frightening let's get real here gers fans o'halloran is playin it higher level thn any of our players fact when we played st johnstone in front 50k plus he single handedly ripped us apart he had our defence in his back pocket fact so any1 sayin osman sow is better thn please got to spec savers and purchase new glasses cause sow is just like waghor n o'halloran anyday of the week he has electric speed wich u need in football now a days its about bein athlete.

4.) 22 Jan 2016 12:31:04
Totally agree. Can't understand any negative remarks regarding Michael O, Halloran. The lad is top drawer and we should be well sick if we don't get him. Rangers team needs a player who can frighten defenders and provide openings for others, he does all of this and some. A reality check is needed here. It's also time we got the decks cleared, get players away who are not going to contribute. Are we all forgetting "again", that this is a business we are talking about.

5.) 22 Jan 2016 13:00:49
It looks like we won't get O'Halloran so we need to move on to other, less expensive, targets. If Sow is one of those then that'll do me. I think if we can bring someone in who can take Millers spot in the side then it'll improve us. I think he misses too many chances and is a bit clunky at times.

Not a hate piece on Miller - still like the guy. I just think he's probably best placed to be sub/rotational player for us now rather than a first team player.

6.) 22 Jan 2016 13:24:13
Iv got nothin bad bout osman sow he is good but i just can't see him n waghorn there to similar both are big n like target men just won't work both thm 1 would have 2 be dropped. As o'halloran can play any where across the front line and he's young n scottish n by far the quickest in scotland and probably in the top 5 in Britain for pace i'm really worried tht we will not get him n celtic will usall happens all the time so for once all rangers fans get behind o'halloran and get ths deal done or we will regret it.

7.) 22 Jan 2016 13:26:15
I'm not really seeing what the big deal is about ohalloran, he has only scored 4 goals all season and of which 2 were against is. Is that really the kind of player we are looking for? 2 goals against other opposition all season? It's just not good enough!

8.) 22 Jan 2016 14:03:08
O'Halloran's record is 5 goals, 10 assists in 27 games.

If we get him good, if not i'm sure there's others out there. I'd be concerned if nothing gets over the line in the next week or so.

9.) 22 Jan 2016 16:45:24
Take away the goals against us and he has a strike rate of about one in eight? Quality? No way. He should take up the 100metres.

10.) 22 Jan 2016 21:42:43
He scored once, the third, when he ran away from Wilson at the start of 2nd half.

18 Aug 2015 14:46:33
Warburton quoted as saying Vuckic won't be an option for us.

04 Jun 2015 09:17:03
Mark Wotte linked again to DoF role.
Great experience and pedigree far exceeds Warburtons. Great knowledge of all scottish youth players. What do you think? With McCall as head coach?

smrfc

1.) 04 Jun 2015 14:39:14
Mccalls time is up, he had a remit when he took over to go up via the playoffs which he failed to deliver

2.) 04 Jun 2015 16:47:34
Are you for real he was left with a squad that was in free fall and in danger of not even getting to the play offs give the guy a break remember they weren't his players.

3.) 04 Jun 2015 17:19:27
Has Actualy come the end of his contract? I read some time back he was signed up until 30 th June.

My oppinion is that it McCall will be given a one season deal at a reasonable rate with a good bonus and a further years option if he get straight promotion next season.

4.) 05 Jun 2015 14:49:57
I would give McCall a one year contract with an extension should he get us promoted.
However my preferred choice would be a DoF with Ian Cathro as manager/coach. Exciting young scottish coach with a proven track record of developing youth. Has an abundance of experience from the Spanish and Portugues top flights to boot. Could revolutionise the playing side of the club from the youth set up to the senior squad and potentially bring a bit of excitement back to the place.

On Saturday for me defence is the most important priority. When Tavernier goes up Wallace must stay back and vice versa, so we always have minimum of 3 at the back with Barton just in front.
If we play gung-ho they will punish us. If I was Rogers I would play counter attack. If they come out and play football and we have a sound defence we can win this game.

smrfc

1.) 05 Sep 2016 10:53:13
If I was Rodgers, I would let Rangers win, but that's just me.

2.) 05 Sep 2016 11:24:41
if we play as well as we can then we will win that match but its getting the right starting 11 for me.
with warbs set on 433 I wouldn't start with barton as the cdm i'd have rossiter in there with his engine that doesn't stop.

3.) 05 Sep 2016 11:40:25
Cracker :-) )

4.) 05 Sep 2016 15:16:13
tavernier and wallace must get tight to there wingers and close them down.

27 Jun 2016 19:06:05
Great team performance from Italy playing 5-3-2 (3-2-3-2) against an unconvincing 4-3-3. Italy's strategy and tactics superb with plan B and C :-) Hope they do it against the Germans!

smrfc

1.) 27 Jun 2016 19:37:24
Here's hoping! Have a tenner on them at 18/1. Looking good just now.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 07:21:39
Im afraid to say lads the germans will dominate the tallys resistace is futile mon the germany.

3.) 28 Jun 2016 09:20:05
The Germans haven't beating Italy in a tournament ever.

4.) 28 Jun 2016 11:02:13
Seeker I also have that tenner on at 18/ 1 plus a fiver on Pelle for top scorer, Mon the Italians.

5.) 28 Jun 2016 12:11:09
After watching Italy during the competition I have to say I fancy them to win it, they don't lose many goals, and their manager looks great, before the euros started the talk in Italy was that this was the worst Italian team ever to reach a major tournament, lol
Chelsea look to have a great boss for next season.
On to England, they thought all they had to do was turn up and beat little Iceland, maybe it's time for them to admit their just not as good as they think they are, I thought iceland looked a decent side.

Fellow Bears, any ideas what the TV time slots will probably be for the games? (I know the fixtures r not out yet) I live in London and try to get up for as many games as poss but bookin cheap flights is hard as games change for TV. If I come up Fridays leave on Sun eves I should b covered for all outcomes (last season I got caught out wi a Mon eve KO tho - can't do Mondays) What's the latest KO time Sun afternoons? Cheers.

smrfc

1.) 15 Jun 2016 11:39:04
You will need to wait till fixtures are out then BT and sky will decide which games will be on TV i would imagine games will be 12.30 pm on a sat or the sunday and maybe the occasional friday night for tv can't imagine many games on the monday.

13 Jun 2016 22:58:59
Great team performance and result for Italy tonight, which highlights the need for a solid defence to control the game, which was won with some good through balls and running into space, against Belgiums better players.

In Spain's game, they completely dominated possession with their short passing but they struggled to score and had to rely on a tall striker to head the winning goal. I hope MW was watching as I still feel that we need more tactical flexibility.

smrfc

1.) 14 Jun 2016 06:32:48
Gerrard Pique is not a striker 😂😂.

2.) 14 Jun 2016 09:36:24
Yeah your right JayC, but it doesn't change the point I was making that it was a header scored by a tall player from the best team that plays in the way that MW wants us to play - we don't do headers and we don't have tall players :-) )

3.) 14 Jun 2016 12:05:13
We are neither Spain not Italy, don't see the point in any comparisons to be honest. Just let our team concentrate on our own game which worked pretty well.
I agree that the defence needs worked on, but I think we will see the same tactics deployed this year but with better personnel. In saying that we will concede more than what we're used to in the SPFL due to our attacking style but the alternative is the boring 4-5-1, which I for one am happy we have ditched and hopefully for good. Give me a high scoring Rangers win any day over that drivel we were used to.

4.) 14 Jun 2016 12:53:12
Aye, I'd be happy with the 4-3-3, but with a much better defence, (and a good centre mid in Barton) which looks like happening.

5.) 14 Jun 2016 13:03:30
Pique is a centre half mate.

6.) 14 Jun 2016 14:07:57
got to agree we need a much stronger defence in this league than last years i'd like to see two really good no nonsense cb's come inand use the two we have for back up and we need back up for wb's aswell.

but all that being said i'd never change the tactics or style of play even against far better teams than ours in Europe as i'd rather get put out having a right go at it than defending all the time and still getting put out!

7.) 14 Jun 2016 13:08:56
My bet on euros was tenner on France 3/ 1 and same on Italy at 18/ 1. Very impressed by Italy as they are a proper team based on a solid defence.

Not impressed by boring Germans and Spain are a cure for insomnia.

09 Jun 2016 10:18:55
Looking forward to some good signings in the next few weeks. We seem to be almost there in midfield and a lot of talk about defenders, but it's a bit quiet on the striker front. Waghorn is good but not a natural predator, Miller played well last season and is a good mentor for Hardy, but getting old.

We need a McCoist type player someone who can score for fun. (I'm not sure about Cummings? and we don't want Lafferty unless he plays a blinder in Euros :-) Any ideas?

smrfc

1.) 09 Jun 2016 11:30:31
Do you not want a better player than a McCoist type? Someone u can score at the highest level?

2.) 09 Jun 2016 11:33:22
Will grigg or Kyle lafferty, either will do me.

3.) 09 Jun 2016 11:55:41
If we're going to spend more than just compensation fees this season the striker position is the likely place it'll be used.

4.) 09 Jun 2016 12:10:18
Biffo316 don't like to be this guy but Ally McCoist own two European golden boots back to back so I'm not convinced you can say he didn't score goals at the highest level?

5.) 09 Jun 2016 12:35:05
Aye Biffo, you are definitely at the wind up. Get McCoist to a health farm and he would still be top goal scorer LOL.

6.) 09 Jun 2016 12:45:30
Better than Super ally.? We'd have to pay about 25 million in today's money for someone just as good let alone better. Honest can't believe that.

Just talked to a mate whose a Fulham season ticket holder. He says Pringle is a good player - control and distribution is good, but lacks a bit of pace tho'. He's surprised he didn't get more game time. Sounds ok?

Aye, 1 good centre back needed urgently, but IMO we need to reevaluate the 4-3-3 with Tav and Wallace playing so far up. Beckenbauer and Maldini would struggle wi this strategy.
