I've been reading on here that Gio has lost the dressing room, if that's true, for his sake he should walk away and not tarnish his reputation anymore because obviously certain players don't / won't care. They're getting paid decent salaries and are supposed to be "professional" footballers.

stuz

1.) 07 Sep 2022 20:50:02
Definitely has lost it or speculation he has maybe lost it? There's a big difference.

2.) 07 Sep 2022 20:52:32
He's been linked with the dof for the Dutch fa the players need to play there useless Kent shouldn't get a new contract should of kept Patterson got rid of tav the board needs removed I have heard about a takeover anyone else heard anything.

3.) 07 Sep 2022 21:02:56
If dressing room can't get up for Celtic and a champions league they shouldn't be at the club regardless of the manager.

4.) 07 Sep 2022 21:04:00
I would get rid of the zonal rubbish and assign a player to everyone if they score it's your fault (at corners)

5.) 07 Sep 2022 21:04:35
Would be better than all the unchallenged headers teams are getting Vs us.

6.) 07 Sep 2022 21:27:37
The majority of the players currently in the Team are those that were with him when he reached the final of the European Tournament last year. The majority are those that won us the league. The problem is that some, arguably the majority, need replacing, either because they were reaching the end of their careers or they were going stale. They needed to be replaced by equal or better players. This did not happen. Gerrard highlighted that he did not get the players he wanted and that was partly to blame for him leaving.
We gave new contracts to players at the start of this season that should have been replaced previously, we yet again brought in players without any apparent forethought to whether they would fit in or whether they were right for Scottish Football and so far it looks like yet again we have got it wrong.
That for me is not Gerrard's fault. The fault lies much further up the Tree.

7.) 07 Sep 2022 21:34:31
No one on here knows for sure if he’s lost the dressing room but the players need to take a long look at themselves the only ones they are punishing is the fans who idolise them turning up each week and paying exorbitant ticket prices to watch them and pay them a luxury living far beyond what any of those fans will ever have, the last two games have simply been inexcusable they should be ashamed of their displays professional my arse, no fight no will to win drop points on Sat and I think the fans will be up in arms.

8.) 07 Sep 2022 22:05:52
Tav has played threw a injury hence how he went of at half time and now the Patterson patter is back. We weren’t keeping a 19 year old the club was getting a club record fee for. Our fans are thick at times.

9.) 07 Sep 2022 22:09:29
Totally agree Berkshire slightly feel gio being flung under bus here Wilson is becoming a liability he's more concerned with not paying fees and having totally control than actually let the manager identify HIS targets that will fit HIS style of play. you may as well make Wilson the manager at least that way we can sack him bassey was an exception rangers transfer policy is reserve players free players or injury prone players then he pays 6 million for a bench player wtf is going on seriously should the 6 million not went on a decent right sided midfielder? Or central defender that actually starts for a team unlike reserve Liverpool Davies 4 million seriously! And 6 million yilmaz to sit on bench seriously?

10.) 07 Sep 2022 22:20:46
Sorry Berkshire why would this be anything to do with Steven Gerrard? I totally agree that the board need called out as they need to explain why there is no cash being reinvested in the team and Ross Wilson and Gio’s recruitment hasn’t been good enough. Gio’s tactics can also be called into question as the players don’t seem to know what they are doing (and not just at corners) .

11.) 07 Sep 2022 22:33:49
It was a poor result, but more worrying seems the fact the there is a reluctance to play more of our new signings (albeit a number are currently unavailable), as I’d like to think youth signings apart, players like Yilmaz and Matondo were viewed as starter material, as they were not brought in for Pennie’s. Particularly in light of the fact there seems a lethargy amongst many more ‘established’ players…
And as we hurtle through September with little sign of Morelos on the pitch, my fear is that he will not sign a new deal…and beginning to wonder if Kent will either…
Their choice entirely but as we approach the dreaded 6month window I would have expected us to have them closed by August or cut our loses… as at this point these now look to be huge (though I’d dearly love to see myself wrong and them both to sign)

12.) 07 Sep 2022 22:07:32
Yet gerrard has spend millions at villa and been rubbish.

13.) 07 Sep 2022 23:48:33
Bassey1 we really don't care about Villa. our teams a disaster zone so SG and Villa are completely irrelevant. Our fans aren't thick. Playing an injured right back is far from clever and GVB is a few results away from being sacked although I believe Park should be sacked. Embarrassing clown.

14.) 08 Sep 2022 06:55:53
People can say what they want about gio but when you have lost two of your best players aribo bassey that money should be reinvested in replacing THOSE players with quality not on a left back you don't need and rest on reserves from other teams. Also Wilson letting contract situation roll on was a total farce that sewed the seeds of uncertainty in the team. colak the only decent signing and even he has his limitations he's a penalty box striker suited to spl for a team that's more often on top but for Europe you need more of a warrior that can run like morelos.

15.) 08 Sep 2022 07:26:11
A said they are thick if they think we are keeping a kid we are getting a club record fee for no about playing injured tav.

16.) 08 Sep 2022 07:59:25
Who cares about villa. £5m on a full back who isn’t starting come on .
He’s clueless sounds like Pedro. It’s a shambles what happened to getting stuck in!
Ajax were allowed to lord it over us. Get stuck in come off tired with a booking.
Playing against better players is no excuse, you run till you drop and tackle.
He’s clueless and he has lost the dressing room.

17.) 08 Sep 2022 08:45:18
How can Gio lose the dressing room? the man is a living legend and the boys should take a leaf out of his book. Look what Gio has done as a player.

There needs to be a couple of vocal Scottish coaches come in to pick up this team as I reckon there is likely to be a cultural thing going on here

Gio needs to get Kevin Thompson, Barry Ferguson and Neil McCann in there or something like that

I looked at Ajax's setup and they have tons of people in the background from sport analyser to Fitness coordinator You name it there was a plethora of staff!

The Ajax institute is a prim and proper setup that's for sure!

18.) 08 Sep 2022 10:21:46
The full back isn’t playing because borna is actually paying better than most of our squad.

19.) 08 sep 2022 17:49:04
hardly a living legend mate,

30 Jul 2018 12:12:53
Official Rangers sight saying a mutual agreement with Cardoso to terminate his contract.

stuz

1.) 30 Jul 2018 13:28:04
How can we not sell a player we paid 1.3m for 12 months ago even if it’s for a crap fee surely better than paying him off.

2.) 30 Jul 2018 13:40:51
Kpnuts, he was that bad we were struggling to give him away! A legacy of Pedro😭😡😡.

3.) 30 Jul 2018 13:42:13
Simple, really, KPNuts10, you can't sell something that nobody wants to buy.

4.) 30 Jul 2018 13:43:32
KPnuts10 - we've probably tried to but he's likely dug his heels in to try and force a mutual termination so he's able to accrue a signing on fee for his next team.

5.) 30 Jul 2018 13:54:02
Getting rid Cardross great move. He cost peanuts and now saving significantly because he's on his way. SG wants CH and this gives scope.

6.) 30 Jul 2018 13:56:34
His pay off will probably include a deduction to let him go for free as it will be easier for him to find a club, if we had looked for a fee then he would have probably got a higher pay off or he would have dragged his heels.

7.) 30 Jul 2018 14:01:46
Cannot believe that person Pedro wasted millions on him, Herrera and Pena! Money wasted we won’t see any return on! If they can cut there losses with the likes of him, I wish they would do the same with Hodson, Halliday etc.

10 Jul 2018 16:32:48
Don't know how much truth is in this but i read on football insider, we've tabled a bid of £3m for Cooper.

stuz

1.) 10 Jul 2018 16:44:23
I also saw this today with bruno away we freed up wages to bid for players

2.) 10 Jul 2018 17:08:42
Yeah seems like we've waited until Bruno exit confirmed and then put our bid in. Smarter in the transfer market this year.

3.) 10 Jul 2018 17:40:10
Saw it as well but Millwall saying no players are going anywhere this summer but suppose money talks sunny know much about this lad

4.) 10 Jul 2018 17:59:00
Being reported in the DR also. Looks a good bit of business. Young player who could come here and do well and be sold on for double his fee.

5.) 10 Jul 2018 18:36:11
Why so much for him? Does anyone know anything about him millwall are a league 1 club are they not?

6.) 10 Jul 2018 19:14:41
Championship I believe Deano, don’t know how much truth in this “bid” does seem strange that we would spend another £3M on a CH when 2 have already been acquired. Unless of coarse the gaffer wants 3 at the back in which case this would mark a significant investment.

With today’s 2 loan announcements I think we need another forward option and another CH minimum but if we can get a load out the door then possibly more, looking forward to Thursday!

7.) 10 Jul 2018 20:56:24
Millwall had one of the best defensive records in championship last season. he is a quality CB

Good investment

8.) 11 Jul 2018 09:04:02
From what I have seen of him he'd be a terrific signing. No nonsense defender, young, English and definitely with sell on value.
We definitely need another Centre half in there even if we play 4 at back as we have no cover what so ever. Will give good competition and its a good show of intent from the club. However I think we might need to go higher than 3m to get him as millwall suggesting they want upwards of 5m.

9.) 11 Jul 2018 09:04:23
He’s been valued at £5m with us apparently tabling £3m bid. Millwall just missed out on Playoffs in Championship after a superb run when Neil Harris became boss early in the calendar year.
They accumulated the most points in 3 successive months due to their outstanding defensive record.
If we manage to get this over the line it will give us 3 quality CB’s whether Stevie G will play 3 or just needs quality cover option remains to be seen.
I’d be surprised if we have actually bid £3m but don’t think we would go any higher.

31 May 2018 08:35:38
I read Motherwell and St Johnstone want O'halloran, they can have him, at a price, if they're not willing to pay what we ask, he can rot in the stands, as for John Terry, no thanks, he's done.

stuz

1.) 31 May 2018 08:39:18
Why would we pay him to rot in the stands? I’d prefer to use his salary on someth8ng positive!

2.) 31 May 2018 08:52:04
DK17- If we're wanting ex amount of money for him but don't get it, then let him rot in the stand, it's either that or pay him off and we need the money as it is.

3.) 31 May 2018 09:46:57
Have to agree if Motherwell or St Johnstone don’t come up with the asking fee why should we just let him go? We aren’t here to help out these teams and why should we just give in and let players go for next to nothing?

4.) 31 May 2018 09:47:36
If we need the money why woukd we pay him to rot in the stands?

5.) 31 May 2018 10:18:05
I am sick and tired of us giving away our players for less than we paid look at Flo bought for 12m sold for 6m. If clubs want our players make them pay.

6.) 31 May 2018 10:19:19
So for a guy that was brought in for an alleged 500k. So you can shave a bit off of that (he probably hasn't made the full appearances if that was even part of the deal) . You refuse £150k and pay out mabey the same again in wages next year? 🤔👍
Along with the buffalo and Bruno he could be one of the undisclosed fee departures. Watch this space

7.) 31 May 2018 10:23:41
Geez GMW, because as i said, if we don't get what we're asking for him, we should let him rot, it's either that or we pay him off, meaning we've lost money, must be rocket science to some people ;-D

8.) 31 May 2018 11:43:48
The problem with that tho Stuz is what are his wages each week? I'm all for letting him got but not if it costs us more in wages than what we can get on a transfer mate.

9.) 31 May 2018 11:53:12
Stuz if we let him rot yet still pay, his wages we lose out as we are paying a guy and not getting his services. rocket science indeed.

10.) 31 May 2018 12:25:26
Kri55, you obviously don't get it, we've been shafted by everyone, other teams in Scotland expect us to pay over the odds for their players so we should do the same or at least get what we ask for. If we don't, we let him rot, especially after the photos of him at the Celtic end, if we pay him off, we're letting him get what he wants and yes maybe Rangers want this too but we're still going to pay wages for someone else coming in.
Someone else has mentioned this before, it seems if a Gers fan has an opinion, other Gers fans seem to shoot them down and totally dismiss their comments, so much for unity and i've done it because people have shot me down first. Now get a grip of yourselves and let's have CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

11.) 31 May 2018 12:41:51
If we don't get what we want I say he rots. Why should we let smaller clubs get our players on the cheap. They don't do the same to us. Those days are gone.

12.) 31 May 2018 13:05:19
Its all about opinions. Mine is that paying him off rather than selling him would be plain stupid. With regards to not getting what we want. We're a big club in our country, every big club in every country pays over odds for up and coming potential talant. We're not going to recoup much of the fee we paid because he's now proved that he's not a great player who won't attract a sell on fee, he's older and hasn't played much football. As i said we're a big club, if you can't handle losing some money on a twit that didn't work out, maybe support partick thistle. But don't be bitter to the detriment of our club

13.) 31 May 2018 13:09:07
If MOH is on 5k a week ( probably around that figure ) if he has 2 years left on his deal then he is due £500k wages. Neither Motherwell or St Johnstone are likely to pay more than £1.5k a week in wages. Therefore MOH is then ( over the 2 years) £350k short in wages so he ain't going to go. Simple answer is accept £100k for him and use that as part of a pay off. by my reckoning that costs the club £250k. Or keep him for 2 years at a cost of £500k.
Financial realities chaps!
That's nothing wait till Alves, Cardoso and Pena negotiations kick in .
Much of the above is my bad feelings about the kid from Brighton . He is unproven . Possibly a fitness disaster in waiting and there is talk of a £3 mill fee and 20k a week in wages. Huge gamble. Not worth the risk in my view

regards to you all
Ray

14.) 31 May 2018 13:09:37
Sounds like Pena agent is looking for a termination of his contract to let him go. Pena had been rotten but I don’t think we can afford to pay him off or let him go but history shows we probably will let him leave for nowt.

15.) 31 May 2018 14:55:10
Ralph10 we bought Flo for £12m then sold him for £8.2m and in between he happened to score 40 goals for us in 72 games. I'd say that was actually a fair return.

16.) 31 May 2018 16:15:30
better to get our money back get rid as soon as possible

17.) 31 May 2018 16:22:32
Stuz you just said about opinions etc yet you were the first one to have a go at someone further up the post then at me. Yes we would use the wage on someone else however that someone else would be in the team or fighting for the place in the team. Something MOH currently isn't doing so yes letting him rot does not benefit rangers at all

18.) 31 May 2018 16:47:12
Duty calls no we sold him for 6.75 million not 8.2 pal so the guy was closer to it than you. So we lost 5.25 million on him don't matter what way you look at it that's bad business

19.) 31 May 2018 17:27:28
You're right stuz we should throw away money we've not got on a player to sit in the stands because we're not getting what we want boohoo. In an ideal world yip I agree we should hold out for as much as we can and as much as the idea of someone rotting away maybe appeal to some folk I wouldn't want that to come at the cost of our club. imo and others on this thread take what we can get for a very poor player and use his wages elsewhere, but what do I know I'm certainly no rocket surgeon or brain scientist!

20.) 31 May 2018 23:57:50
We need to cut our losses with Pena. We either have him in our squad not playing and getting paid or we try and cut a deal with him to get him out. A costly mistake and no one is going to come in with a bid for him.

04 May 2018 09:14:57
Confirmed on SSN, Gerrard is the new manager, welcome to the most successful team in the world, i'm sure you will fill the cabinet with more trophies, especially the league title ;-)

stuz

1.) 04 May 2018 09:38:30
I will wait until it’s announced officially b4 celebration begins he was a natural leader on the park no reason he won’t be a leader off the park I am feeling genuinely optimistic for next season and got 10-1 on us winning the league

2.) 04 May 2018 10:19:07
Great! , and there must be money for him to spend on quality players or he would not sign a 3 year contract.
Lets wait for the full story released by rangers later today.

3.) 04 May 2018 10:31:29
Steven Gerrard has agreed a three-year deal in PRINCIPLE to become Rangers manager, according to Sky sources.

Not the team I would've went with, why sign Balogun, he's not in the squad and I don't think he's injured.

stuz

1.) 16 Sep 2023 12:26:19
Stuz, Balogun struggling to train since b4 Celtic game,

For onwalter which Beale signing u want to play

Injured cantwell dowell Balogun

Dessers most don’t want,

If u look ALL players away in international have not been selected.

2.) 16 Sep 2023 12:30:50
He's watched the Scotland game Roberson n Tierney lol al try Barasic n rivdan ?.

3.) 16 Sep 2023 12:32:53
I like the team today John, good balance.
Good for squad morale aswell playing all the lads who have been stuck at home. I like this team.

4.) 16 Sep 2023 12:50:56
John, why is he struggling to train, has he been carrying an injury? Iwouldn't have started Yilmaz, Davies, Lundstrum, Lambert or Lawrence (just coming back from long term injury) are you trying to have a go at me, hereweego? If so, you're a terrible Rangers fan, I'm just having an opinion or is this not allowed. Jeez.

5.) 16 Sep 2023 13:18:31
That should say Lammers not Lambert, stupid predictive text.

6.) 16 Sep 2023 13:29:48
Stuz, because he has had muscle problems since first time we signed him, hence why he started 12 games at qpr last season

How is herewego having a go.

7.) 16 Sep 2023 13:41:47
John, it reads like he's had a go because of the Tierney, Robertson comment or have I picked it up wrong.

8.) 16 Sep 2023 14:33:34
Balagon not fit.

9.) 16 Sep 2023 14:42:03
Stuz, I’m not reading it like that.

10.) 16 Sep 2023 15:10:31
John, then it would be good for him to explain his comment, I'm not coming on here for an argument but what I have noticed, this site is very clique, if you're not on all the time, then your comments are not valid. I obviously don't come on a lot because of work commitments but get fed up with the comments directed to people (not just me) puts me off posting anything. We ALL have an opinion but certain posters shoot you down and think they're right.

Lol Scotland being put in their place.

stuz

1.) 12 Sep 2023 21:36:16
Put in their place? Why because they’ve been beaten by a better side?
Total Lillian Gish post!

2.) 12 Sep 2023 21:51:12
They even brought Maguire on to score for Scotland and give them a wee chance seeing it was just a friendly.

3.) 12 Sep 2023 22:17:11
England have far more quality players to choose from, as all of their players play in a much better league.

4.) 12 Sep 2023 22:25:34
Another thing macnaughten, Scotland fans singing cheer up Gareth Southgate etc, oops lmao.

5.) 12 Sep 2023 22:53:40
Brilliant… no one on here said that about PSV.

6.) 12 Sep 2023 23:04:06
I remember years back all top English teams had good quality Scots players at international level. Something must be going wrong at youth level . where is the next Dalgliesh, Archibald, McQueen Gemmill, Robertson etc the list is endless .

7.) 13 Sep 2023 18:23:28
Was that the Robertson that gifted the English a goal last night?

08 Sep 2023 18:44:38
I don't know if anyone has said this but I watched a clip of a Lyon fan in the stand slating the Lyon players, who were still on the pitch and standing listening to the fan. He basically said they weren't fit to wear the Jersey, Lyon were beaten at home by PSG 4-1 and are bottom of the league. I wonder if our players would stand and listen to being slated but more importantly, would they care or show any fight?

stuz

1.) 08 Sep 2023 20:10:16
They stood and applauded as they were booed off the park last week. That’ll do wonders for their confidence.

2.) 08 Sep 2023 20:33:56
Unfortunately Alloa they weren't just booed off. They were screamed at. That to me is disgusting behaviour. Our fans were even having a punch up with each other. People need to get a grip.

3.) 08 Sep 2023 23:44:49
Agree Jfm, I get that fans pay their money and are entitled to voice their disapproval, I’ve shouted at players for missing a clear chance or making an error but I’m dead against booing the team off the park and as you say screaming at them and fighting amongst ourselves. I thought we were better than that and left that kind of behaviour to them across the city. What makes it worse is doing that right in front of the Celtic players. That’s all the confidence and boost that they need!

01 Sep 2023 07:32:14
If we were to make one signing, I would make it a winger, why bring in another defender when we brought Balogun back (who I would play on Sunday) .

stuz

1.) 01 Sep 2023 08:28:40
Balogun isn’t very good and he’s injury prone. That’s why Rangers released him in the first place. He’s only at Rangers to provide cover, and that cost young Lewis Mayo his Rangers career which I strongly disagree with. Rangers need another CB because the ones they have aren’t good enough.

Rangers should’ve just kept Mayo as first choice and brought in a new starting CB. If someone told you last year that the only change we were going to make to the back 4 was bringing back Balogun most Rangers fans would’ve been outraged. What happened? ?‍♂️.

I'm not upset with someone disagreeing with me, i'm disappointed that a "fellow" rangers fan would feel the need to hav a dig at another rangers fan.
