Not sure that they will have the money John. They are in a mess right now with ownership issues that are well reported and they could well face another points deduction next season. I have a soft spot for Everton and worry that next season they will be fighting relegation yet again. Not the most sensible move for Butland at this time.

I can’t see Everton having the money to sign Butland, they’re more skint than us. There chairman was on Sky Sports through the week saying they’re expecting a significant number of players to be sold in the summer in order to get back with FFP.

There are major problems looming at Everton with the previously proposed new Investors now looking unlikely due to their own financial position as a result in part of overindulgence in trying to replicate the City Group by acquiring Clubs globally. The new stadium requires heavy investment which isn't there and thanks to years of mismanagement by the current owner and is Executive Team, (under Kenwright), it is difficult to see any short term fix.
Selling Braithwaite and Pickford for the funds rumoured would reduce the risk of further points deduction in 2024 / 25 but for me they would be looking to get Butland for around £5m - £8m and we would have to spend more than that to secure a keeper that even came close. I'm not so sure that Butland would particularly want to go to Goodison; he certainly won't be winning medals there any time soon.

The thing is he’s better than Pickford so if they get 50 for him why should we only get 20 for Butland, but I get how it works. I wouldn’t be accepting 10 it would be 15-20.

All better than Pickford. I’d say big Forster is better than Pickford and god knows where he is at spurs now.
Butland is on par with Johnston for me. All better than Pickford.

Butland is purely and simply better than Pickford. Only the English cannot see it and we all know how bias they are lol. Butland has been phenomenal since coming to us. Considering he wasnt playing must in his previous seasons as well. A true professional. Definitely should be top 2, maybe 3 English keepers.

I'd hate to think where we would be if we'd still had McLaughlin in goal .

Butland is £15m all day. if Butland was playing in England then double that.

Why would Butland choose Everton or any other low level English teams (if the fee wasnt correct) . Wages might be a bit better but he'd be playing Championship football in 1 season and not playing in any tournaments either. Career suicide.

Everyone has an opinion on goalkeepers, personally I rate Pickford and believe that there are a number of good quality keepers in the EPL which is why Butland isn't in the England Squad.
I would be be disappointed in the rRngers Board if they were to sell Butland for less than £12m - £15m, (which I don't believe would be offered), unless we have identified a similar or better quality replacement which I doubt.
We need to be strengthening our team, not weakening it.
Another season of failure and the natives down Govan way will be extremely restless.
