Any truth in the todd boehly rumours heard it a few times lately. Originally heard we had British interest but haven't heard it since.

Nothing online with any credibility and can’t see the Board risking the season ticket holder backlash. I’d think other investors would play their hand if this was on the cards. Club needs serious investment and it needs to come from somewhere though.

I was in the City a couple of times last week with folks that are involved with the Markets and they mentioned that there is a lot of noise that there is interest in Investment with names mentioned including wealthy Scottish, South African and US names mentioned.
I have also heard from a separate source of investment from an existing shareholder, (as has John).

I haven't heard Boehly's name mentioned specifically however he is part of a Consortium and is only one of a number of shareholders.
As I have mentioned before, it is quite likely that Bennett knows the Chelsea guys from his time with Hendersons and with him taking over as Fulltime Chairman with us this summer I would expect new money to be pretty high up his agenda.

it isn't so difficult to understand. noone can come in and spend 100M as example, we need to live within our means. someone coming in with cash is only transferring money for some existing shares. sure money can be spent on infrastructure etc but we can't overspend on players as EUFA don't allow it. FFP rules exist for a reason. we need to create revenue elsewhere.

Ibrox4me, why would there be a season ticket holder backlash? It would take comparative peanuts for him to invest sufficiently to make Rangers a winning team.

Bb what would someone get from investing in us if we are hamoered by fpp what could investment do that would benefit the team?

What happens in Europe with the multiple team rule? Can us and Chelsea both play in same comps?

McMinn, there would be fears that we would be being acquired almost as a feeder team/ club. After everything the rank and file supporters have been through over the last decade plus, putting significant money and time into supporting in blind faith, I don’t think it would land well.

After seeing how he's running Chelsea, the Yank can keep his cash even if he wasn't running Chelsea like he was no thanks we can't afford to have anyone who has shares in another football team and again all the funds he could give us could only be used for the Stadium training facilities and retail outlets he can't invest in the Squad that would be breaching the Financial fair play rules.

OneWalter, a lot depends on the Investors other Businesses and it isn't just the share acquisition. A US Investor that has other Sports involvement Stateside can cross benefit from the Rangers Support in the States, Investors in the UK could also benefit from the PR, especially if the Stadium was to be Sponsored by their Company.
Of course a wealthy investor that is Rangers orientated could equally secure ownership, or be part of Group of likeminded people, in general they just need to be more willing to invest serious money than Parks was.
Companies will spend money to secure naming rights and with us in Europe on a recurring basis would give them good cover.
The problem that I see in the recent past is that Parks secured significantly more coverage than was merited for their sponsorship. Other Board Members appear to be more there for the Blazer and Club Tie than taking Rangers to the next level.
We need new Blood and new ideas.
I am hoping that Bennett will bring change and I suspect that a lot of the noise is because folks in the City are assuming the same.

Is there not something about having loses covered by owner shares? Think I read somewhere that was the case in England any loses over 15m were secured by owner shares whatever that means. So would imagine there is something an investor can do but as you say ffp may scupper us from what an investor can do.

Really appreciate your input in this subject Berkshire blue. You clearly understand what this means for Rangers than most of us posters do (I mean people like myself) . I think we have to think beyond next season and hopefully a big investor could maybe help with stadium development as we always will start the season behind them until we catch up with them in income and that means growing the capacity.

FFP relates to ridiculous transfer fee spending, we don't need that we just need to compete with the vast majority of real clubs in Europe at the sensible level of spending.

Buying the champions league is fake and worthless I'm sure the real Man City fans for example want their club back from the glory hunters and geeks that have turned up, same with Chelsea and Arsenal and certainly very soon Newcastle fans who can't get their long term seat now, quite often lifelong involvement.

Because if FFP rules like numerous people have correctly stated we can’t spend given money so anyone that is looking to invest is only going to do it for their benefit in the hope that the share price rises. I am happy with our current board. They have steadied the ship and gave us a workable foundation to build on.
