Seen reports from Serbian journalist that we are looking at 22 year old goalkeeper Stojan Lekovic who plays in the Serbian league. As much as this pains me to say it is looking very likely that we will lose Butland in the summer. I suppose we have to accept failing to win the league and secure the champions league money has consequences. Imo I believe we will accept a bid in the region of 8 million for Butland and he will be off back to the Premier League.

8m is too low 12 is at least what we should be looking for imo. It’s part of player trading in the past we’ve held onto players for too long. Brought him in on a free sell him a year later for 12m and reinvest it into the squad to hopefully have the same outcome for the players brought in.

What has value got to do with it John. We got Butland for nothing and we will sell him for a profit. We are a selling club looking to unearth players and sell them in to bigger leagues. Unfortunately the English Championship is now included in those leagues as we seen yesterday with Cordoba.

He may sign but imo not a Butland replacement

Has less experience than McLaughlin Mccrorie Kelly.

I agree with John, he's not going to be signed as no. 1 only because his form doesn't stand out as spectacular, he's conceded an average of 2 an appearance this season. I'm not against a young keeper as long as he's got that special something.

I honestly wouldn't accept anything under £15 million for butland, £8 Million is ridiculously low if it was the other end of Glasgow they would be looking for atleast double, too often do we sell our team short.

Read the Rangers Review John. They have just posted about this 50mins ago. The GK has similar pedigree to the current Chelsea No1 Petkovic. If we are looking at him aswell as getting Liam Kelly on a free from Motherwell Butland is offski. Delusional if we think otherwise.

Butland is a decent keeper, but not on the same level as our previous goalies. Mcgregor / Klos / Woods / Goram in there prime years.

would take anything upwards of 6 mill for butland after one season is good business, thanks to Beale getting him in for free.
More chance of him getting that England spot at another club, losing to poor quality scottish sides like we did this season will only hinder that chance.

This discussion is very similar to stuff we were hearing around Kent and Morelos and we ended up getting nothing. I agree, I would want more than 8 but even 8 is great business. We could have a clause for more money if he starts games.

I would say there should be a premium on butland as he was our player of the season and he is domestically trained player for an English team which we all know adds value.

PC will only let Butland leave if he is comfortable with the fee and has a suitable replacement lined up. The guy isn't an idiot, if he fails to strengthen the Team and is behind them in the League at the turn of the year he will be at risk, just like his predecessors.

Butland would be a significantly better keeper if he had a defence in front of him similar to what Goran, Los and Woods had rather than the poor quality assortment that we have today.

I agree with that Gofor and you have a valid point. Our board has broken promises to past managers so I would not be surprised. We need fresh investment and a new vision whereby in our player trading model we look at Scottish talent. It’s what’s missing in our squad.

No argument here mate just my view. We ain’t looking at bringing in 2 keepers that are going to sit on our bench especially with McCrorie already there. Signs all there that Butland is off.
