Does anyone know if Connor Barron is still being considered? We need homegrown players for Europe.

Think it was in the paper a few days ago we have made him an offer. but he has a lot of interested teams to pick from. so he’ll be spending time making sure he makes the right move for him….

I’m not sure I much care about Europe this season. We need the League back.

We’re one of a few teams that have made him an offer.

If he isn’t he should be. Seems like a missed opportunity to let him pass us by in a position we need cover in.

It’s up to Conor Barron now, we have made him an offer which he is considering along with other offers from across Europe. As far as I am aware, the homegrown quota has been scrapped or is under review by uefa for next season so may be irrelevant.

If Rangers wanted Connor Barron surely we would have already have put a contract in front of him. He’s a free agent now is he not? Why wait ?‍♂️.

Genericrangersfan.

Others above you have posted we've made him an offer, along with other teams. Barron is yet to decide.

We'll find out very soon if Barron's a Rangers player, 100% offer on the table for him.

We should be signing him and McKenna. No transfer fees and adds 2 Scottish homegrown players. We only have Souttar and Wright now and Wright needs moved on. I’d take Watson and Miller as well.

Can’t keep turning our noses up at homegrown talent! Would sign a 20-year-old unknown from Uruguay, but not a young player doing well in our league.

Tbf Monty clubs see us and tims come in for players and prices go through the roof, not all the time but it does happen, but get your point about Scottish talent and agree. ?.

Monty we can't force him to sign apparently offer on the table, it's up to him now.

Monty, miller and Watson, are youth players and as such would be on a b list for Europe, you can’t be on the A list unless foreign. Home grown and academy you move from b list to a list till you are 21.

“ I’m not sure I much care about Europe this season. We need the League back. ” - The money European football provides is essential to Rangers. The silverware of Scotland comes with prize money like £300k for a cup win, and £3m for a league win.

Rangers and Celtic cannot sustain themselves based on TV, prize money, and gate receipts alone. They need regular European participation and to operate a player trading model.

Europe is always a massive priority for Rangers, and so it should be.

Miller and Watson would still make the squad though, signing foreign players just means some miss out which in turn pisses them off! Mckenna would be on A list as would Barron who is 21!

Whether you’re on a list or b list is irrelevant if trained at a Scottish club for 3 years or more between 15-21. Still make the squad. Signing a 20 year old foreigner instead means they don’t make the squad at all if not selected.
