Why would Tom Watson want to sign for Rangers and play in their ‘B’ team? Sunderland will give him minutes if he’s that good . He’ll look at Lovelace and maybe think twice? Love him too sign as he’s well thought off, but Rangers will have to start giving these young players a road to the first team, no matter their age.

Fergus need to be better than guys they replace

It’s also about getting them in our academy set up so they become eligible for Europe.

I agree, I think a lot of kids will be looking at the stories of Lovelace, Weston and others and seeing that there's no development path and very likely no real prospect of them getting time in the first team. Most will see it as big risk to their career to come. Especially when they can have a far bigger chance of opportunities to play down South.

I think you will find Fergus that these B team players need to be good enough for the 1st team and get there on merit. Why would any Rangers manager put his job on the line for the sake of playing youngsters who he deems not good enough?
