Hooly78,you will maybe be able to shed some light on this mate. A good friend of mine from northern ireland told me tonight, that he guarantees me, that rangers WILL sign kyle lafferty on an initial 6 month loan deal in january, from norwich city. He also assures me the deal will become a permanent one in the summer. Have you heard anything regarding this mate?

10 Nov 2016 14:34:47
please I hope not.

10 Nov 2016 14:50:44
On the positive side he is true blue and has decent scoring record. On negative side we had legal action, he has betting charge pending and is bit of a loose canon.

Think we pass on this one.

10 Nov 2016 15:22:47
guy isn't good enough wasn't then isn't now . reminds me of samaras! when he is on his game he is good but 90 percent of the time he isn't on his game and a loose cannon.
IMO he wasn't good enough first time and won't be good enough if he came back .
please don't sign him.

10 Nov 2016 16:29:48
Hope so, we need a striker with experience.

10 Nov 2016 16:58:27
Why would any club guarantee a player a full time contract after they have basically done a 6 month trial? Surely, the initial period would be to guage whether he was good enough.

10 Nov 2016 17:08:31
Haven't heard a thing mate. But I'd be surprised though.

10 Nov 2016 18:18:05
Agree cuillin more chance of loan with a view to a deal in summer no guarantees. I for one reckon lafferty is what we need in the respect that he would add abit of fight to the team, remains to be seen if he would score 25 goals a season though! To many pushovers in the side at present.

10 Nov 2016 19:12:44
Charlie mulgrew might disagree that laugherty is no pushover 😉.

10 Nov 2016 20:12:04
5 in 25 for Sion.1 in 19 for Norwich.2 in 14 for Rizespor and 1 in 6 for Birmingham. I must have a different idea about a good strike rate for a striker. oh aye, and he walked out on us before.

10 Nov 2016 21:33:04
Laugherty could of only dreamed of Sammys career. Come on james. That 10% was goals against us. The latter was in Europe. I'll admit I am a fan of Sammy. To be honest I'd pay kLs taxi to ibrox to sign as long as the invoice had 'the' omitted. No point kicking.

10 Nov 2016 23:10:59
Not for me. Hopped it (with a few others I wouldn't welcome back either) remember.

10 Nov 2016 21:53:44
Didn't mention his recent NI form - would take him in a heartbeat. Sure he would appreciate 2nd time round - and he always did well in the big games.

11 Nov 2016 10:16:58
don't agree gers09. the boy wasn't good enough the first time around and was a disgrace to the club with his antics.
his goal ratio for his clubs isn't good enough and wouldn't improve our squad.
pleas for the love of rangers don't sign him, there must be better out there than him.

11 Nov 2016 10:17:01
Naismith, McGregor, Whittaker, LAFFERTY. Scabs for as long as they are alive.

11 Nov 2016 11:28:06
wow 4 players who done their parts for our great club! would welcome lafferty back with open arms aswell as naismith!

11 Nov 2016 12:16:43
I can never forgive or forget the players that ran out on us sorry not for me.

11 Nov 2016 13:08:28
Nah, not for me. Not good enough in any case. No brainer.

11 Nov 2016 14:56:39
would take naisy back in a heartbeat he is a great player . I don't blame anyone for leaving as they are top players with limited years in the game .
I do however think laffetry did more running on the park than anyone else all be it to no avail most of the time . his goal ratio is not a good on and he wasn't a good players for us scored a few important goals but no chance is he good enough to get a second crack at it.

11 Nov 2016 18:34:36
Tbh the way it's going were not going to have a 20 goal a season striker unless Garner gets a consistent run of games in the team. Certainly not saying for a second Lafferty should be brought back but should we not be at least keeping our options open?

10 Nov 2016 19:20:06
Mind bogglin how so called rangers fans can take anymore this garbage n excuses from MW he's pushed barton out the door for speekin his mind what next? he's made us laughin stock in scotland i say draintheswamp and us fans should be doing everythin in our power to get him out NOW why not start protest out side ibrox Ed do you agree on this warburton is bad news for us i wouldn't trust him with one pence never mind january window comin up it has to stop or itl get worse.

{Ed039's Note - I do not agree in the slightest, and a protest ..... I'll have some of what you're having! The only thing the manager should take the blame for with Barton was signing him in the first place)

10 Nov 2016 07:47:54
The Sun reporting Rangers are looking at bringing in Diego Poyet to replace Barton on a short term deal.

10 Nov 2016 09:11:11
Seems like Warburtons kinda player, I'd take him.

10 Nov 2016 10:21:40
been without a team since august the way a see it is if your without a team and your dad still won't sign you then you must pretty guff.

10 Nov 2016 10:31:13
Colshy, I think you'll be surprised about Diego, great potential but lost his way, Warburtons kinda man.

10 Nov 2016 11:36:09
if it comes off he'll have my support not convinced this is a deal we nd right now with bartons wages freed and waggy looking like he'll b away surely we nd to b looking for a tried n tested midfielder who can help us get that 2nd place.

10 Nov 2016 11:38:52
I'd take Poyet in a heartbeat.

10 Nov 2016 11:40:14
Warburtons kinda player you'd take him I don't know if you're serious or not with that comment?

10 Nov 2016 12:33:57
G4rry, yes I am serious with my comment. Warburton works wonders with players that have lost their way.

10 Nov 2016 13:09:23
He gets a few good games out of them then they're put on the bench.

10 Nov 2016 14:18:34
Does anyone believe we really need ANOTHER midfield player?
No central defenders- no decent strikers, so another young midfielder is going to be the answer to our woes,
it just gets worse, a commanding central defender should be top of the list by a mile even if it's a loan until the end of season, is it only the paying punters who can see this, DW
was a GREAT defender for us but surely to god he must see we are hopeless in that department, I don't believe MW could recognize a good centre half if he sees one.

10 Nov 2016 14:28:34
shugie I totally agree with you .
I think that's what we should have done from the start when warbs came in he should have started from the back and as for bringing in another midfielder we already have double the amount we can play so why bring in another one?

cb should be the no.1 priority and then a proven striker we need the ball in the back of our net.

10 Nov 2016 14:34:13
Don't how many bears would agree with me here but i'd like rangers to go and brink back charlie adam from stoke City. He's a playmaker, great at free kicks, very good passer with a good football brain, can score goals from midfield. What more do you want from a midfielder? He's a lot better a player than the one who left rangers a good few years ago now. Imo he's exactly what we're needing! Thoughts on this fellow bears!

10 Nov 2016 16:28:07
Yep I'd take Charlie Adam back, but we need centre backs first and foremost and two up front.

10 Nov 2016 16:54:52
nope just another old player
plus we have better players just now in the middle of the park.

10 Nov 2016 17:08:37
Wish it was possible.

10 Nov 2016 21:46:20
Charlie adam? What does he earn? Barton was tempted in on a Base rate wage with an enticing bonus structure . Same as rodgers. barton clocked it sharpish and will depart. Few months in the dressing room and some home truths, a confidentiality agreement later, 2 weeks wages and he has jumped. He is a wee w#nk but given time in your mf and managed correctly I think he would of been asset.

11 Nov 2016 11:29:05
charlie Adam would be an excellent sign8ng imo we need goals from midfield. stevie Mallan would be good reminds me of a young adam.

11 Nov 2016 17:56:55
James Stirling r u for real? We have better midfielders now than charlie Adam? Who if u don't mind me asking?

14 Nov 2016 06:31:07
What we need is a Terry Hurlock or Graham Roberts type player. There is no bite in our current midfield.
