First time post here reports that Dom Ball is set to sign a 3 year deal with Rotherham.

12 Aug 2016 01:13:14
Well if that is the case it shows where we can't compete if a team like Rotherham can beat us to a player. Second time of gazumping us from Stubbs. Also shows lack of ambition from the player.

12 Aug 2016 04:01:06
Always thought Crooks signed to replace Ball anyway.

12 Aug 2016 04:27:09
Im happy to hear that tbh.

12 Aug 2016 06:50:15
We certainly don't need another slow CB and he hardly forced his way into the team and definitely would not get a game in the holding role now so were we really in for him no bids were made so I doubt it.

12 Aug 2016 08:10:55
Rotherham beat us to a signing. shows how the finances are doing. OR we didn't want him? I reckon it's more a case we didn't want him.

12 Aug 2016 08:20:19
We 100% have better than him Rossiter is a young gem he's much better than ball, i agree with u all that ball wouldn't get in the team. But for some reason i still feel dissapointed although i shouldn't, think bcos he played a big part in the celtic win. I feel annoyed that stubs got him, i guess we just wish him luck and move on.

12 Aug 2016 08:32:35
We were never back in for him. He played his best football for us as a midfielder, a position now filled and never got in in front of Wilson or Kiernan unless they were suspended or injured. Good memories of the semi final but he was a loan. I've still got good memories of Kyle Bartley.

12 Aug 2016 08:43:06
There is no chance on Earth we were "Gazumped" by Rotherham.

If we had wanted Ball we would have had him its that simple. He caught the bug, you seen that after the Old Firm. there just simply isn't a place for him and right now we need a CB and a ST, for us he is not a CB so to bring him in when we desperately need other positions would be irresponsible.

I wish him all the best and would loved to have seen him with us permanently but what we have is better.

12 Aug 2016 09:20:22
Did the club actually come out and say "we want dom ball" no Rotherham didn't beat rangers to his signature as he wasn't on our radar.

12 Aug 2016 09:55:38
talking about bartley can't we go and make a bid for him he has a year on his contract so might be worth putting In a bid for him as he was quick and just the kind of cb that we need would cost 1 mill at a push to get him from leeds.

12 Aug 2016 10:12:15
Personally didn't rate Bartley at all, thought he was a liability!

12 Aug 2016 10:14:15
is bartley not only on loan at Leeds? He would be a great acquisition for us.

12 Aug 2016 10:53:19
First off lads, I'm not trying to cause a row here or anything. I'm just trying to understand what went on.
I'm pretty sure MW said in one of his interviews that he would like to get Ball back again. If that be the case then that seems like expressing an interest to me. Ball would have known this but then chose to sign for Stubbs, who would of also need known of our interest in the lad. Therefore by my logic this is being gazumped by Stubbs, yet again and Ball showing a lack of ambition.

Please feel free to correct me lads. No offence will be taken as I'm sure you know me by now!

12 Aug 2016 11:04:28
Always knew Dom Ball was a wrong un. Joining Alan Stubbs is a mortal sin. Good riddance. Just hope MW wasn't putting all of his eggs in one basket with this boy.

12 Aug 2016 11:25:15
Personally I don't think he was the answer- he's no better than Wilson and Kiernan at cb and not as good as Barton and rossiter at dm.

However from MW quotes it's clear that we wanted him and he was the defender he has hinted at. We have been beaten to him and outbid by Rotherham- hence MW complaining about being unable to compete in market with championship sides.

Why on earth have we not been looking at player's from second tier in France, spain, Germany and other minor European leagues - rather than a market we can't afford.

12 Aug 2016 11:39:07
I honestly don't get the big hoopla abt Ball. i must b missing something.

12 Aug 2016 11:41:35
Decent player, best game was against them in semi-final. His best position is holding roll in midfield with Barton and Rossiter there I really don't think he would get much game time ahead of them. Think we may have a wee gem in Rossiter btw.

12 Aug 2016 11:46:32
Really hope some people are being sarcastic like they will forever hate ball and as if stubbs is evil. Its only football guys.

12 Aug 2016 12:01:32
I don't hate either of them i just find it funny that people on here are genuinley annoyed we didn't get Dom Ball. he couldn't get a game in the championship so what chance would he have now.

12 Aug 2016 14:14:50
Dom ball couldn't break the poor partnership of keirnan and Wilson. and the dm position is filled so there's no place for him I'm the team.

12 Aug 2016 17:09:09
Huey it's more than just football to me. I'm very passionate about my club. Never rated Dom Ball so not bothered about his move to Rotherham. Alan Stubbs on the other hand, well I can't stand that guy. I don't physically hate him but he's not on the xmas card list that's for sure.

On second thoughts, I do hate him. A lot.

12 Aug 2016 10:13:40
we were not in for ball.

11 Aug 2016 22:19:24
Dominic Ball of to Rotherham.

12 Aug 2016 00:29:36
Really don't think he was the answer to are centre back problem anyway was superb in the midfield holding role towards end of season but as a centre back was no better than kiernen or Wilson really. Good luck to him but don't think he is the answer for us.

12 Aug 2016 07:03:15
he isn't a patch on rossiter or Barton at CDM and at centre half he was slow and cldnt shift kiernan or wilson

nuff said.

12 Aug 2016 10:02:29
I think any talk of us not wanting Ball is nonsense. For the vast majority of players down south we cannot compete with clubs paying £25k-£30k a week, it's as simple as that. The attraction of Rangers just doesn't make up for the trebling in wages in a better league.

12 Aug 2016 14:47:06
Minto is correct

We shipped 3 goals A GAME before the cup final WITH DOM BALL

Even in cup semi though we played very well passing esp and attack we still allowed 6 chances and on another day Tims would have scored 3 at least Dom Ball looks good but not a CB and Rossiter stands out a mile better than him potential signing coup of season.

11 Aug 2016 11:46:28
Reports that Trabs have tabled a £2.5 million bid for Tav.

That will test the water, so it will

TBBaB.

11 Aug 2016 12:11:15
I'd think we'd consider taking that money but Tav going to Trabzonspor? Hell no! Most western European players are trying to engineer cut price deals and get out of that cesspit, the standard of football is on a sharp decline and they are a bottom half club with no European football!

11 Aug 2016 12:13:36
Bye Bye Tav.

11 Aug 2016 12:13:42
I would consider it and put in a bid for Aberdeens Shay Logan.

11 Aug 2016 12:32:15
I would take that kind of money. I really like him but I see him more as a right midfielder than a right back. I think we need a right back that can first and foremost defend for the premiership.

11 Aug 2016 12:42:41
sould accept it and take Patterson from hearts for £1m. He is out of contract at the end of season i'm sure.

11 Aug 2016 12:59:09
mark pren we have a rb in hodson that is good at defending but I wouldn't take 2.5 million for him .

that's a pointless argument anyway no one with a brain would go to turkey to play.

11 Aug 2016 13:01:20
Don't think they have really offered any bid, never mind the 2.5m- just paper talk.

If they really have, we would be crazy to knock it back. He's not worth that much.

11 Aug 2016 13:49:36
I would have Hodson in the team B4 Tav anyway so there's a ready made replacement ready to go.
There's no way we should be turning down that kind of money for most of our players as long as it's ALL reinvested into the team on the park.

11 Aug 2016 13:58:36
I think if Tav is going then 2.5m would be acceptable, however what player in their right mind would chance going to Turkey at the moment. I think Tav who has numerous clubs is actuall now settled at a club who he respects and who respect him. Would be foolish to jump ship just yet.

If Tav did go I would hope Rangers would target Paterson as a replacement.

11 Aug 2016 14:13:55
How can people be ok with tav leaving!? he's creates so much for us, would be a massive miss if he left imo. He will get better at defending, then he'll be some player. Also i don't believe he'll go.

11 Aug 2016 14:28:56
Every player that wants to leave can go Ill be surprised if its a bigger club that Rangers that's for the full team. Warburton has said it many times they will leave on our terms whatever offer comes in from players I would double it right away . So in this case its believed to be 2.5m for a full back that scored 15 goals and can score you 4 or 5 free kicks? 4.5m and best of luck . Just my thoughts.

11 Aug 2016 14:51:12
bottom line - money talks - anything north of 2 mill for the club he will be gone and will guarantee not much of it will be spent on a replacement. Sticking point is Tav himself, if he is going to treble his salary and get a silly sign on fee, he might risk it. i'm sure his agent will have a get out clause if Turkey gets any worse.

11 Aug 2016 14:53:40
Think Tav will leave BUT not to Turkey, the place is a disaster. End of.

11 Aug 2016 15:50:01
Got a feeling that there may be a fee clubs interested in Tavs but clubs know our financial situation and I think they may try to put in a bid far lower than what he's worth near end if window, something like 1m! I hope we don't sell out as I think he's worth minimum 2.5m but as I said clubs know that we're struggling financially. I know we have Hodson but if anything happens to him were goosed, He ain't going to go to Turkey, maybe a lower lge prem, but unless we get offered 3m+ tempting it may be I think if he keeps developing and scoring the lad could be a 5m player this time next yr. We can sustain his wages and imo we should not sell unless like I said the offer is far to good to turn down! Just mean's that we could be looking fir a CH, Striker and a back up RB. Oh and btw what's happening with Aird? Thoughts Bears should we sell and what's the minimum fee we would accept?

11 Aug 2016 17:05:34
Steven Whittaker scored 12 goals in a season for us and he's gone far since hasn't he? End of the day money talks, short career, line pockets well u can.

11 Aug 2016 17:14:25
Warbs said there has been no contact from any clubs looking to buy rangers players.

11 Aug 2016 17:52:52
Question Bears, what happened to the Latvian kid we had on trial? He sounded promising! Can't remember his name tho?

11 Aug 2016 18:02:44
Oh and Bears there are players that Warbs has lined up there all sitting tight and it WILL go down to last day of window and that just ain't the case for us, lots if clubs and players playing waiting game, frustrating I know but true.

11 Aug 2016 18:42:34
If we really have been offered £2.5m. Take it and run. No refunds, no backsies. Thanks Tav for all your hard work, enjoy Turkey. I hear they do a lovely kebab.

11 Aug 2016 19:31:21
I agree James that no one in their right mind would play in turkey but I would bite your hand off for 2.5 mill for Tav. As you said Hodson could do a job. Never seen or heard much about him before but I get the impression he won't get a game before Tav. MW seems to really rate certain players like Tav and Kiernan so it would take a really good player to shift them.

11 Aug 2016 20:00:48
Callum Paterson no thanks!

11 Aug 2016 20:38:00
When you see the dross that English clubs are buying for £10-20m. can't understand why so many are keen for him to leave. a good season this year and he'll be worth a fortune. he's actually our best provider. he's our best right back since hutton. way better than broadfoot or foster.

11 Aug 2016 21:26:39
Theres definitely dialouge between ourselves and dundee over greg stewart.

12 Aug 2016 09:58:39
Greg stewart has agreed terms with Birmingham and will sign today.

11 Aug 2016 19:54:12
Every ones missing the point here. Even if they offered 20m if tav doesn't want to leave he can't be made to. End off.

11 Aug 2016 01:41:21
French newspaper spouting rangers have offered a deal to 34yr old defender rod fanni.

11 Aug 2016 07:29:11
That was rubbished yesterday by The Record of all papers. They claim they got that info from an Ibrox source.

11 Aug 2016 17:21:37
Is Fanni a CH? And never heard if the guy but his name ain't going to go down well eh but any case is the guy any good?
