afternoon lads, what do you make of the stories going round about netting going up on the roofs on starkiller base ;) to stop debris hitting the fans, apparently happening this month. any truth in it?

11 Dec 2016 15:50:06
Why don't you tell us? You seem well clue'd up over Rangers. TrueBlue.

11 Dec 2016 15:53:11
Bhoywonder, I put that post up weeks ago and the majority of people disagreed with me. Yes it is a fact it will happen as Glasgow City Council came to Ibrox and deemed the roofs unsafe. Rangers cannot afford to replace the roofs so safety nets under the roofs to catch any falling debris is the cheapest option. I wish people would do their homework before they disagree. In fact can all those who disagreed please explain why, cheers.

11 Dec 2016 16:08:45
So the council say the roof is unsafe, but they continue to allow games to be played. Exactly how unsafe is it? Surely it either is or isn't.

11 Dec 2016 16:20:54
Gor check your facts rangers have been issued with a certificate from glasgow city council the stadium is fit and safe for use all teams must get this each season from council and emergency services this is a fact work will be done on the roofs in certain stands as they need updated no risk to the fans what so ever how can the council deem it unsafe but allow 50,000 fans in each week stop talking nonsense.

11 Dec 2016 16:23:43
Cuillin72. You clearly were one who disagree with me, as they say time will tell. Do you fancy a wee wager on it?

11 Dec 2016 16:40:44
Nail on head Cuillin72. If the roof was deemed unsafe then the council would not be meeting its duty to let any game go ahead that could potentially endanger members of the public. And rightly so.

11 Dec 2016 17:31:54
A wager on what? If it is deemed unsafe, it would show extreme ineptitude from Glasgow Council. Not to mention the risk to fans attending the games. I don't keep a record of posts I disagree with, but as you say I clearly disagreed with you, it must be true.

11 Dec 2016 17:52:11
Not arguing with a fellow bear but time will tell regarding safety nets on the roofs.

11 Dec 2016 20:14:23
The safety nets would cover about a 1 mile radius around the stadium to catch any flying sheets from the stadium roof.

I'm detecting a whiff of the brown stuff.

11 Dec 2016 20:27:20
So long as the nets don't obstruct the view of the magnificent Glasgow Rangers who the hell cares?

11 Dec 2016 20:28:21
Safety nets could be put up for the workman on the roof no chance would the council put people at risk and allow games to be played at an unsafe venue.

11 Dec 2016 22:01:51
Does anybody in their right mind believe that a council so full of Rangers haters and republicans would for a second consider giving us a safety certificate if the slightest opportunity arose to close Ibrox or at least disrupt our income, our fans and our team while work was carried out? Behave!

12 dec 2016 11:11:39
the nets that will go up will be precautionary as to work being carried out on some parts of the roof.

12 Dec 2016 12:13:14
Bhoywonder, your own stadiums main stand (south) has two retractable structural support legs. These, as you probably well know, are lowered when the stadium is empty to prevent the canopy from buckling under it's own weight and fracturing. If supporting legs or safety nets can get a stand relevant certification form the authorities when safety of fans is paramount then I'm sure neither set of fans have anything to worry about.

12 Dec 2016 13:21:26
Sounds to me like an ideal opportunity for the board to issue some kind of statement to reassure any fans that might be worried in any way.

After all didn't they promise transparency?

Not only that they would have the opportunity to rubbish spurious claims by anti-Rangers bloggers.

12 Dec 2016 13:50:48
Why would the board issue a statement everytime a moon howler makes a ridiculous claim? They would do nothing but issue statements then to satisfy this imbeciles.

12 Dec 2016 14:27:07
theres an MSP raising questions about it, they have been receiving threats apparently, Blu Stu how does it make people imbeciles as you call them if they have heard stories and would like a definative answer, there's bears on this post that have questioned the very same thing. and what's with the insults mate?, that all you got in your locker? think a lot of people want clarification on said matter but you just stick to insults mate. good job.

13 Dec 2016 11:37:16
It's just more bull made up by sad Celtic fans. If the roof was unsafe we would not be aloud to play their.
