so why were dundee utd trying to make him highest payed player

Believable1 Unbelievable17

Have you got an explanation for this one ed? {Ed001's Note - no, I was hoping someone would explain it to me if I posted it! I thought I had just missed the convo it was related to.}

Agree0 Disagree0

They wurny. or am a missing the joke? graeme

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no idea why Dundee Utd were trying to make him the highest paid player. Incidentally who is he? What are you talking about? Please enlighten me.
ThatsNotMyName

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you talking about Scott Allan?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is talking about Scott Allan. Dundee united didn't try to make him their highest paid player, he wanted wages that would make him the highest paid player at the club n they said no. That's why he's bn bombed out the first team

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty meaningless thread but the facts are that Scott Allen was offered a contract to make him the best paid teenage player at united ever. He wanted Ł1600 p/w which was putting at the top end of pay scale n utd said no. Only played 5 games, remember fleck

A 28 year Indian striker come on why hasn't he been picked up at that age? Sounds like another kerkar, healy, mckay etc, etc, cheap bench warmers

Believable12 Unbelievable26

Mckay? give the guy time. he has only played one match and he wasnt that bad... think you mean ortiz mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Cmon give the guy a break are you saying this indians a cowboy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post above mckay aussie player of the year,no mug like! Only not played coz been unfit saw him play a few times looks a player. El tel

Agree0 Disagree0

He may just have reservations

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is this indian lad then is it Chikta Kormaz or Tikkti Msallah? {Ed014's Note - They are Jeje Lalpekhlua a 20 year old striker/winger and Sunil Chhetri a 27 year old striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

We,ll guard old Delhi,s wall.......les

Agree0 Disagree0

Very niavie responses to this news

1. Would you bring a 20 year old half way around the world on his own?

2. Next to China, India is the largest, fastest growing economy. If you are looking to generate interest in an area like this, is there a better way than having some of their players in your squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the harm in taking a look at these lads?. Might be able to do a job and as said above the marketing opportunity would be immense. That's it im off for a curry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give the guys a chance, would not be a bad move,India is a massive football country, why not get them into Rangers rather than an English prem team, nothing ventured nothing gained.Good luck to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who next ? General George Custer, or Sitting Bull, are we that skint, or maybe we are the daft ones, India is where the big backers are, Mr Whyte isn't stupid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't you see imagine the world wide audience seeing the cowboys (american lads) playing with the indians

Agree0 Disagree0

We have no money lads we will only sign them if the spice is right

Agree0 Disagree0

LAWL to the above comment!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah they must be good players one of them got dropped from the mighty Kansas City in the hugely respected USA football league!!
LOL clowns

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you all gonna curry on with these jokes

Agree0 Disagree0

Is the 20 20 season finished? graeme

Agree0 Disagree0

I live close to murray park so i might have a donner over to watch them train

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see why every one is slating these guys before they have even been on trial.

Yea i realise the elder of the two at 27/28 is not very likely to be any thing special but the younger boy could be a very good find for the SPL. The standards of our league has drop. If this young boy is more than capable of playing in the SPL then i shall welcome him with open arms.

As has been mentioned the money which could be available from expanding in to emerging economies such as India is huge.

Plus on the subject of the younger one his stats if correct are nothing to turn your nose up at regardless to which league or country they play for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we have finally seen the light & realised there is large Indian (not native American for all the idiots talking about Sitting Bull etc) community in Glasgow. If Rangers were to sign Indian players, new supporters from Glasgow's vast Indian population would be flocking to Ibrox. We should also be looking for players in Pakistan or Glasgow born Pakistanis(the Pakistani community is bigger than the Indians) so more fans heading to Ibrox. To those (Rangers fans?) who live in 17th century (catch up-you're getting left behind) ,we live in a multicultural society & we should embrace these people & welcome them into the 21st century Rangers F.C. family. We should have done this years ago!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The standard of our league has undoubtedly dropped, but not to this extent. The guys both have a good goal scoring record, but you have to look at the opposition they are playing against. Most of the goals ive seen on youtube from them the quality of the football is dire. Makes a very average player look half decent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Now I'm not going to kid on I know anything about these guys, but for those with reservations about the guy's age, Dado Prso was 'found' at 27, and he turned out alright, did he not? Let's give them a chance {Ed014's Note - I think you should check your facts on that one.Prso was 22 when he signed for Monaco and was 29/30 when he signed for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

When fans mention Sitting Bull, it's only in jest, we know sub-continent Indians from the American native Red man, so lighten up out there, it's just fun, I hope these guys make it with the Gers, I wouldn't care if they're from Timbukto as long as they take pride in the shirt, Ally is going the right way remember we are in a tight spot just now and we MUST be realistic, we just haven't got the cash for the big boys

Agree0 Disagree0

ED, Prso signed for Monaco at young age but was really just in their reserve teams and also farmed out to lower league teams in France. The poster means no one really knew about him till he was 27/28 and he played for Monaco on the way to the CL final.

4INAROW {Ed014's Note - He played over 100 games for Monaco and went out on loan for 2 seasons to Ajicca when he was 23 before returning to play for Monaco for 5 years. He also played at Euro 2004 for Croatia, scoring against France. He was a well known player before Rangers signed him and I'm 99% sure the CL final was his last game for Monaco?

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone stop banging on about age,if the boys 27 then so what, late developer or who cares,as long as he,s good enough id take him.at least 6 years of football in him and who remembers sceptic buying an old player called moravjic.he came from obscurity and seemed to do pretty well.have to admit the marketing oppurtunities are sure to have been a major part in looking there.investment oppurtunities may present themselves also.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saw in the papers that their clubs are looking for a fee,so that will be the end of that

Rangers will take two Indian strikers on trial in November, as they look to add to their attack.
Pune striker Jeje Lalpekhlua and Mohun Bagan forward Sunil Chhetri will train with Ally McCoist’s side from the end of the month,
"Sunil and Jeje will be assessed at Murray Park next week and will have every chance to impress the management team," Rangers Chief Operating Officer Ali Russell told the club's official website.
"Both players have excelled in the I-League and now have the chance to train with Rangers.
Lalpekhlua is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Indian football. The 20-year old has an impressive scoring record for Pune and Arrows and was awarded the Young Player of the year award for the 2010-11 season.
The young striker has been capped by India at Under-20 and Under-23 level and has five goals in eight appearances for the full national side.

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Ok I'm gonna be the one to say it!

We venture into the american market, now we've gone for some indians!

Are we gonna be playing cowboys and indians next season!

Bluegenius

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality joke! quality!

Seriously, I hope ally aint going after average foreign players when we have the likes of fleck sitting on the bench!

Agree0 Disagree0

Was exactly has john fleck ever done in a first team jersey? i would show him the door!

Agree0 Disagree0

The last indian lad we signed left in disgrace he was caught snorting curry powder and went into a korma {Ed002's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

I will have to tell my nan

Agree0 Disagree0

I will maybe popadom to murray park to see them

Agree0 Disagree0

They were recommended to Rangers by Tony Currie and Brian Rice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid comments-the Indian community in Glasgow is huge. If Rangers signed these players the interest in the club would explode.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's blatantly obvious why they are trying to do it, new revenue streams, which is something we need and should be looking at. But these boys aren't close to the standard we should be looking for. I admit they have a good goal scoring record on paper, but look at the opposition they were scored against. From the footage i've seen of them it's no wonder they stand out, the quality of everyone around them is worse than our 3rd division.
