Edu is atrocious. No debate. Whittaker is similarly talentless, but at least gives his all. The only reason he got a new contract at 1million a year was because Ally is naive, and sentiment crept in over common sense. Cuellars injury a wouldn't say it is a real problem its just he wont be fit until about September and wee need players who can play but what i would say is get him on a pre contract in januray as i am sure he is on last year of contract correct me if i am wrong and then get him in July for absolutely free that is what you call good business

From the sounds of things ( namely, STV article) Ally will go in in January to sign him. But if the injury IS a real concern, then it will be caught in the medical and we'll make a decision from there.

I am so sick of everyone ripping on Craig Whyte, give the guy a break. Without him where would we be? McGregor wouldn't have signed a new deal and would probably be away by now, Davis would be gone, Papac would be sold and so would Whittaker (Mistake giving him a new deal). We wouldn't have Goian or Wallace or Ortiz or Bartley or Bedoya or McKay. Remember that Whyte has given McCoist a transfer budget but it is not Whyte or McCoist who decides on what to offer for a player; it is Gordon Smith. Personally I prefer Martin Bain because of the simple fact that he made sensible and acceptable offers instead of ridiculous offers under £200k.

Whittaker has been a liability... he gave away the goal against Malmo in the first leg then got petulantly sent off in the second leg... also gave away a goal against Hearts(in exactly the same way as against Malmo) in the first game of the season, leaving us with a terrible start to the season. Never thought i would say this but Broadfoot was better today than Whittaker has been so far this season. Think he needs a couple of games on the bench to regain his composure.

I think we'll offer Carlos Cuellar a pre-contract in January, he's already said he wants to be a Rangers player and it would be a dream return so i'm confident that will happen. For now let's bring in Danny Wilson. Very well deserved result today could have been alot more but 2-0 and a clean sheet in the highlands will do me nicely. WATP.

Rangers fans were brilliant through the whole game aswell even when decisions were going against us then they sang Edu even when he got sent off Weldone fellow bears who were at the game.

Based on the G Smith interview earlier he went out of his way to say, our interest in this player in 'this' window has been withdrawn, and then when talkin about the situation again he said we will not be making another move for that player in 'this' window... Maybe thats the plan if they think Cuellar may be out for a good chunk of the first half of the season, pre-contract and try and get him on the even cheaper in Jan.

On the Danny Wilson thing, I don't see why we should bring him back just for him to maybe go back to Liverpool in Jan if not definately at the end of the season. Ross Perry handled himself really well this afternoon and I'd much rather see a young player who's still fully attached to the club get a regular run out... Although we could certainly use cover in defence.

Guys i really do believe that big Curly is taking his 40 grand a week for as long as possible before he signs for us,i think when he is fit towards the end of the month he will put pen to paper

When the referee gave the first penalty he had no other option to send the player off as he had stopped a goal scoring opportunity whether it was or wasn't a penalty is debatable he had went through Naismith to get the ball and as FIFA regulations state that you can't make a challenge from behind therefore in my opinion it was a penalty

The penalty shout when I there was at least 2 hand-ball incidents, all I could think if was how the heck is he being paid to comment on games. If that had been Celtic, there is not a shadow of a doubt in my ind that he'd have been shouting and screaming that it was a clear penalty. I've never heard him call a Rangers game without every comment being laced with pure unashamed bias against the GERS. Its even worse when he is commenting on Celtic games, it gets so bad I think he is rubbing one out at every little thing Lennon and Co do.

Listening to the pre match buildup on the radio and Gordon smith is being interviewed. When asked who is actually negotiating with these transfer targets he replied 'why are you asking me?' He doesn't seem to know who deals with the negotiations in my opinion. The rangers staff seem to be defending themselves when questioned by saying 'we do have money and have brought players in' however the most we have splashed is £1.5 million, the rest of the signings are well under the £1 million mark. In my opinion the players that have been brought in do not meet rangers standards and I fail to see how any of them (apart from Wallace) will develop rangers and create a stronger challenge in the European competitions. European success should be the main priority as that is where the money is and that is how to attract real quality players.

Summary of Gordon Smith on BBC Radio Scotland:

States that money has been made available and as a result four players had been brought in, going up to six if they can successfully bring in McKay and Bedoya next week.

Expresses regret that the Goodwillie scenario unfolded as it did, and that it was left to late, but they had to wait for his personal situation to be resolved.

The Cuellar deal is dead with Rangers having withdrawn their offer, and he stated "We will not be looking to bring in that player in this window." He also said that the deal could have went through as terms were agreed however Rangers withdrew.

Smith refutes any embarrassment about Rangers dealings in the window, with four players in and two on the way very shortly, as well as more to come hopefully and six existing players tied up on long term deals he certainly can be justified in feeling like that.

The only main target that they are disappointed in not securing out of the list is Goodwillie.

Gordon Smith has not been involved in transfers so far, however they are looking at bringing him into the fold alongside Russell and Dixon.

An offer is on the table for Wylde at the moment which he has not accepted however he expects negotiations to take place in the near future to tie this up and that it is being blown out of proportion in the press.

3million Euro has been put in for Juhasz with assurances that this would be enough to tempt the club to sell, however the club have since shifted the goal posts and are looking for more. Although, didn't sound like this deal is entirely dead...

I know the Roland Juhasz rumour mill has been spinning for a while now, I posted on here last week that the Verhoek and Juhasz deals would be rejected by their repsected clubs and I was correct.

Well, my same source has told me that, even though Juhasz will have a sit down with his club in an attempt to seal the deal to Rangers, his club still won't budge on their asking price for the guy.

I am a seaon ticket holder at Ibrox. and i am related to Wilson. I can tell you he WANTS to come to us. He is not interested in going to Celtic.
He was at Ibrox from the age of eight and believe me he follows us, Even when he is bench warming in Liverpool.
When he left us the deal suited Rangers as well as wilson.
I am biased as a love my team, and hope he does return for him and the family.

Why hasnt Wilsons loan deal been completed yet? Even if he can't play in Europe next week (only saying incase he cannot ) we do have current domestic business to deal with. Get him on board now.

Has not happened because we have not been offered him, hope it does happen.

I would not want him back he had the chance to play week in week out for rangers but then the money started to talk to him so he left to be a benchwamer
