BBC confirm that a fee of 275k + 2 players have been agreed by Hibs and Celtic for Scott Allan. Would absolutely love Allan to say no thanks. come on Scott

For me it is a big loss to miss out on Scott Allan! If Rangers hadn't went in for a bid at all then Celtic wouldn't have entertained him and he may have been a Rangers player come next season!

Think Scott Allan's ambitions was to play for one of the big two get a bit of experience in Europe and then get a move down south

We were never going to get him this year!

Before you all start blaming Dave King, think again! The ugly man Stubbs would never have sold to Rangers as closest rivals and he had every right not to

Ach well gutted is no the word! We will just have to move on

Cmon Mark Warburton

Listen the lad sez he's a blue nose. Apparently his whole family are rangers mad. If he wants to sign for them then good luck to him because as much as I can't stand them there midfield is solid and I can't see where he will get into that starting 11. He'll be a squad player at best n before you know it he'lol be shipped out to lower leagues on loan n let go by them once his contract expires.

Celtic bidding less than rangers and also getting 2 players off the payroll.

14 Aug 2015 09:01:50
Listen guys if he goes he goes, this season is all about getting out of this league and then building from there, I still don't think it will take much to catch Celtic once in the premier league so onwards and upwards

14 Aug 2015 11:12:12
There are many players of similar or greater ability than Allan out there, as I'm sure our new manager knows. He wasn't one of Warburton's top targets for a reason. If he goes to the manky mob he'll have to alter his whole way of life like everyone before him who made that decision. But let's face it, he's not the be all and end all. In Warbs we trust. Forward with Rangers and fuck Hibs, Celtic, Stubbs, Liewell and all others with hate in their hearts for us.

A few thoughts on this saga

Is he even worth the hype? He failedat west brom, failed on loan and has only had one season at Scottish championship level. Our pathetic mid field did nullify him pretty well last season.

Is Celtic a good move for him? I would say no as I don't see him being anything but a squad player.

Is it a good move for Celtic? Well it is as it has kicked us in the balls. A small fee, little risk, the shedding of a couple of squad players ands development of their youngsters. If he works out I'm sure he will have a sell on th eng premier clause in contract so potentially profitable.

Should hibs be happy? On surface they have got one over on us or at least that's what Stubbs would like hubs fans to think. Dig a bit and you will see that Stubbs is not acting in hibs best interest and his hatred of us has clouded his judgment. He said only two days ago price was near 1mill. Celtic have paid less than our bids which where apparently not enough. Hibs have been weakened and any smart members of their dressing room will see Stubbs putting himself above everything.

Does this effect out promotion chances? Certainly not negatively, the whole saga has had an effect on hibs, they now have to adjust to losing their star man. henderson may improve them but hopefully we will be streets ahead before he has any impact. Mcgeouch is a championship level player.

Should we have done more? Yes. This has been embarrassing from start to finish. The fans have put their money up and King promised investment that had not came. Gullible fans will make excuses and state belief that he will invest on promotion- that is not what he said. Had we offered around 500k I'm certain hibs would have accepted. If not then we should have went elsewhere ages ago, the fans deserve more. Our side may be good enough but then again we were a penalty away from disaster against st mirren - we shouldn't be gambling as failure this season is the end

14 Aug 2015 15:49:08
Luigi please stop using every negative headline to rip on the board / king. It's really boring now. We missed out on a good player but honestly we offered the correct amount of money for him (as evidenced by Hibernian accepting a lesser bid).

Paying way over the odds would have been absolutely stupid. For once give the club their due for not being pressured in to something.

Agree1 Disagree2

14 Aug 2015 16:57:53
You can disagree if you want, I will post what I want.

Are you too small to accept other people's opinions?

I think you are exactly the kind of gullible fan who will prevent ourclub from ever getting back to where we should be

If more fans had the intelligence to ask questions of the club the mess of the last few years would never have happened.

People like you shouted down concerns over Murray, whyte , green and every other.

If you don't like my posts, don't read them. Simple.

Guy's let forget about SCOTT ALLAN.
Stuffed "Main Rivals" 1st game of the season, then beat another contender next match.
No matter what comes in front of us this season we're in a better state of mind, fitter, adventurous and playing with flair & no lack of enthusiasm while creating more chances every game.
We and only we can jeopardise this promotion push this season.
I believe we'll get promotion quicker this time than the Jambo's did last year.
Lets see how many PREMIER teams look forward to coming our way in the cups this season and bring on a semifinal at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 02:09:18
I hate to say it but Luigi is baaaang on this time! I also hate when our fans talk about over spending for Scott Allan is not appropriate eg £500k. It doesn't matter contract wise if he has less than a year left or whatever. If other teams are interested and they are willing to bump up their offers then we should be willing to pay bigger money for him if we think he's worth it and a good investment. Remaining contract duration is means nothing in that scenario. If he's worth it and the club wants him then yeh, we should have bumped up a more serious and less embarrassing offer at first to stop Stubbs looking like he was in control and in my opinion made us look weak, although I believe we are not. I think king should have showed the cash sooner and larger rather than 50k increases. Our team now is capable without Allan. Better players will come and we will laugh at all of this.

13 Aug 2015 20:57:48
Just been confirmed by a Twitter account by Andy Halliday that Scott Allen won't be going to Celtic he is waiting till January to sign a pre contract and will join rangers next summer unless hibs back down and take rangers last offer

Erm, not as such.

Not the official site anyway.
It might be true, it might be nonsense but there's nothing like conflict to keep the media happy.

I'm really not surprised, young lad, new baby, lure of decent cash, loyalties can go out the window when there's enough money involved.

Plenty of fish in the sea.

13 Aug 2015 22:26:32
Done deal I'm afraid turned his back on the club he supported to play second fiddle to the current celtic midfield. Dissapointed!!

Agree3 Disagree1

13 Aug 2015 23:22:13
His Twitter doesn't say anything. Think you have been had by a fake account.

He clearly will be a Celtic player in next day or so. I'm not lamenting losing a player that seems to have zero loyalty.

He must be seduced by European football and future eng premier move that the soap dodgers offer. All the I want to move to rangers because I'm a fan has been a load of tosh.

He will regret the move, Celtic have similar players already and are only doing it to get one over on us.

Interesting that Stubbs didn't confirm Celtic bid but was very quick to go public over our bids. The smirk on his face spoke a thousand words.

Agree4 Disagree1

14 Aug 2015 06:07:33
That mutant Stubbs' smirk won't last long when he's sacked by Xmas. When we took the two boys on loan from Spurs especially when one was an att mid I knew the Allan deal was gone. All the best to the boy but he'll be watching more from the bench rather than playing. Only hope is he does a nacho novo to them.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Aug 2015 09:52:33
A lot of people don't seem to understand that loyalty is a 2 way street - Scott Allan only has a limited span as a footballer, i'm sure he would have come in January but the question is if he had waited then got injured (broken leg, ligaments etc) would Rangers have been loyal to him and signed him anyway? Of course not. He has to do what's right for him and his family and I won't have any ill feeling towards him, he tried his best to get here but it wasn't to be.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Aug 2015 18:04:38
At first I was gutted about this and I would love to see him playing for Rangers. However if he goes to Celtic then Hibs are weaker and our chances of promotion higher. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

13 Aug 2015 18:32:06
If these reports are correct then good riddance no true rangers man would swap the chance of signing for us to sign for Celtic obviously he is more interested in signing for celtic and sitting on the bench than becoming a Rangers legend truly disappointed if he signs goes to show that team loyalty is a myth in the face of money

I wouldn't believe anything the BBC reports especially when rangers are involved.

Yeah Kenny miller wasn't a true rangers man was he. Even Kenny Dalglish was a rangers man. They are all professional players and will do a job whoever they sign for. money talks bullshit walks. Tell Mr King to start splashing the 20 or 30 million war chest. Then maybe you will get the players your after.

Scott Allan at Celtic Park now.

I am disappointed Rangers never came back in with another bid.

Very disappointing.

Agree0 Disagree2

14 Aug 2015 11:25:06
wouldn't have mattered what kind of money we offered he wouldn't have been sold to use this season.

and anyone saying its king's fault needs to get a grip, moaning that he hasn't splashed this 20-30 million that has been mentioned. the reason we are where we are is because of people spending stupid money on average players (not saying scott allan is average) and giving them stupid wages. for once someone is trying to run our club the way it should be run and people are still moaning about it.

the fact is hibs would not sell to us and to be honest doesn't a 6-2 thumping tell us that we can win this league with ease without scott allan?

Good luck to the lad if he goes to sceptic. There are and there will be many more players available to Rangers . I have an energetic enthusiasm again not felt like this for years regarding RFC this will not get me upset. Our fans are hungry, in fact starving for success and our team at the moment are part of it. I have no doubt we will be Priemer league bound by Febuary and this will only enhance the enthusiastic atmosphere in our club. So if SA comes, then welcome to the revolution son , if he does not then , your chice , your loss but in any case good luck to the young man.

If Allan will sign for the soap Dodgers then they are welcome to him. What sort of character causes a huge fuss to earn a move to his boyhood hero's then signs for their rivals? Not the kind that is welcome at ibrox.

If he even entertains discussions then it says a lot about him. In such circumstances we should be glad to have missed out on an over rated trouble maker.
