14 Feb 2017 20:45:55
Heard from my mates son who plays for the development squad. That brain kidd was up last week watching a closed doors game and was wined and dinned by Stewart Robertson could he be our DOF.

14 Feb 2017 21:04:05
Heard this as well mate. Not sure how he'd do as DOF? Was the same guy who told me rangers holding off to announce a full time manager until the Redbull deal goes through. I take that with a pinch of salt

14 Feb 2017 21:11:58
Big Eck to be announced as interim manager tomorrow lunchtime, To bring back Matt Crooks and pain him with Clint Hill, Sort our defence out.

14 Feb 2017 21:17:53
Haha bring back crooks 😂 he's going to solve all our problems lol Brian kidd is a goer mark my words. Also looks like Luis Enrique might be looking for a new job tonight be as well giving him a shout lol

14 Feb 2017 21:34:29
I can back you up ANGUSGER Brian Kidd has been sounded out as DoF. A left field on I heard was we'd try snatch leven from hearts as King is a big admiror of him and what he's done for hearts. Steven Gerrard has also be mentioned as the new Gaffer in my circle, can't see that one one he's not proven.

15 Feb 2017 06:22:49
Don't want Brian Kidd and definitely don't want Steven Gerrard (Like its gunna happen anyway)

15 Feb 2017 08:54:12
Giving the success of MON NL and now BR TRFC are considering a managment team from the same part of the glorious Isle . David Healy assisted by Kenny Sheils with Jimmy Nichol as DOF. Kyle Lafferety with his experience of playing all over Europe will be ask to open a whole new chapter in the scouting/ youth development part of the club .

15 Feb 2017 10:33:09
I seen Craig Levine at hart hill services last night on the west bound. I asked him if he's getting the job and he just winked

15 Feb 2017 12:06:32
That'll solve all our problems then, appoint a 68 year old cone carrier whose health is not great, as our DoF.

15 Feb 2017 13:21:30
utter nonsense

15 Feb 2017 14:18:43
God, they names will strike fear throughout Europe, why Brian Kidd, all he's done is be a decent no 2, absolutely hopeless on his own

15 Feb 2017 13:39:03
Very interesting this Brian Kidd thing. saw on another forum that he was at the game Sunday and was showing about the club. Also Ryan Gigg's was mentioned as coach in the same thread.

15 Feb 2017 16:07:16
Lunchtime has passed and no announcement of big Eck but hopefully we have a settled back four.

14 Feb 2017 18:43:22
So we are getting a director of football, Stewart Robertson has confirmed it.

14 Feb 2017 18:55:45
If it helps the club then happy days

14 Feb 2017 19:39:47
I'm sceptical of this structure if I'm being honest. I believe the time is right to make a marquee appointment i. e Frank De Boer but it seems the board have different ideas. We're hardly in a position to experiment and this seems like a big risk to me with so many potential issue as well as doubling up on wages.

14 Feb 2017 20:09:16
im with you j i'm not a big fan of director of football Either. deboer also sounds good to me with mcleish to end of season

14 Feb 2017 20:18:19
I can't see someone like Frank De Boer or any other top manager working under a DoF at Rangers. I suppose it depends on who the DoF is and what kind of power they would have.

14 Feb 2017 21:46:32
Better off paying top wage for one top manager instead of a Director of Football coining it in as well in my opinion. One person to call the shots. Can do without any more conflict which these kind of proposed set ups can cause.

15 Feb 2017 00:08:11
Frank De Boer worked with a DOF at Ajax Marc Overmars, and had a DOF at Inter so he is uesed to it, a lot of clubs in England and abroad use DOF let's the manager concentrate on football and coaching

15 Feb 2017 00:36:28
Director of football is the way forward in football gives managers/ coachs more freedom too work with the team and train them instead of having too take time away and go hunt players and speak too them obviously it has too be two guys on the same wave length

I really want de boer in but I don't think we could give him the financial backing he would want too implement the changes we need in my opinion we require 2 center backs a right back a defensive mid a good passing mid a striker and a left mid

Does anyone seriously think Kidd is going too leave Man City assistant managers job too come too us I think there's as much chance us getting pep too come as our manager lol

15 Feb 2017 07:30:35
Don't think it can be de boer if Rangers want someone permanent as soon as possible, they won't wait till end of April for his decision.

15 Feb 2017 07:38:40
De Boer has always worked with a director of football/ head of recruitment. Overmars at Ajax and Piero Ausilio at Inter Milan. There isn't a big club in the world which doesn't use a figurehead to interpret affairs from a more distant view than from that of the 1st team manager.

15 Feb 2017 21:07:40
Frank de boer worked under a director of football at ajax mate!

15 Feb 2017 13:08:08
Mprent111 De Boer has always worked with a DoF, most foreign coaches are comfortable with it.

15 Feb 2017 14:06:54
I wasn't before but i think it is a good idea to make the change and appoint a DOF! As long as they stick to their pacific roles then it could really work well and bear fruit for our club! Should be an interesting few weeks ahead regarding the anticipation of who is appointed DOF and who is appointed head coach! I'd go for paul mitchell as DOF and either frank de boer/ garry monk as head coach!

14 Feb 2017 18:42:49
Anyone think barry mckay will stay?

14 Feb 2017 18:58:36
I think he'll stay it's once we are back playing in europe is when other clubs will come calling. watch this space

14 Feb 2017 19:10:47
Depends on who we go for players will need to be inspired as much as the fans

14 Feb 2017 20:19:23
I think he will stay. He's to inconsistent. If he went down south he would probably get lost and end up playing in the lower levels.

14 Feb 2017 22:25:14
Mckay is a superb young player who on his day can be a match winner but we say he is inconsistent but how many games has he played over the last few seasons and do we have any other player to play wide left?
The answer is NO.
McKay will hopefully remain at Rangers for the forseeable future.

15 Feb 2017 10:20:27
A good player yes but a match winner? Goals win games but his contribution in goals and direct assists doesn't exactly back up that statement!

15 Feb 2017 11:30:33
Aye he assisted v Morton on Sunday and is he a striker?

15 Feb 2017 12:31:54
Mckay is no where near as good as good as everyone makes out to be sure on his day he's one of if not the best player in the leauge but seriously how often do we get mckay on his day 5 games a season if your lucky then in the rest of them he's average/ poor i like mckay but he's far to inconsistent.

15 Feb 2017 17:17:28
There are a few players who left Rangers that the fans said were average who went on to play in the EPL namely Adam and Hutton.

14 Feb 2017 17:30:08
Hi guys,

Hope you don't mind me putting something not directly Rangers related but thought it would be pleasing for you to hear and it does potentially have importance to us if it ends up in us getting a vote on something.

Dundee United are going into administration on Friday. During the time they took the piss out of us and were getting lauded as the best run club in Scotland, they attempted to restructure their debt but the continuing massive deficit has really put them in trouble and they have ended up exceeding the limit on the group of local investors who helped them out.

Their stadium has gone into other hands and isn't an asset and their training ground was previously sold off.

To put it simply - they are ****ed. Thompson is making them sign confidentiality agreements and running off. His sister has been trying to avoid it and hates his guts but the situation has went well out of her control.

They always like telling their rival fans that there is only one team in Dundee, it seems that may be coming true :)

14 Feb 2017 18:07:22
Where you getting your info mate

14 Feb 2017 18:20:30
Couldn't care tbh. More concerned about rangers.

14 Feb 2017 18:20:44
Oh if only
A carlsberg moment

14 Feb 2017 18:25:35
If that isn't true you better get some help mate 😂 Some story but

14 Feb 2017 18:28:21
Never nice to see a team go into administration, even if it's run by a complete arse.

14 Feb 2017 18:40:14
I've lived in Dundee since moving here for uni and been working for a company here that does a lot of work with people from the club (in an administrative capacity is all I can say but quite a bit of money is involved so we like to keep track of their health) .

For the last couple of years, there's been quite a bit of news about United's finances that has been trickling around the people who are close to the club or any of the Thompson family and we've heard that relayed to us when we've asked a few of the more junior staff questions in confidence.

We've been getting a bit of information at a time but the fuller picture has emerged and we're starting to see where the trouble has come from.

The talk is actually more widespread here than being made out to be and their supporters club has knowledge at the top level. Jim Spence wrote an article suggesting they merge with Dundee a few days ago which I find interesting timing so I think he knows too but have never met him so don't know for sure.

14 Feb 2017 19:08:50
I wouldn't wish that upon any team given the mess we have been in, are in and will continue to be in for the foreseeable.

14 Feb 2017 19:12:40
Brilliant news!

14 Feb 2017 19:16:25
I wonder if Jim Spence will think they are cheats

14 Feb 2017 19:25:02
Difficult to gauge if this is a genuine post or not, I certainly hope so.

It is horrible to see any club get into financial trouble, we all know how that feels! but with Dundee United it is different.

They (he) were the loudest advocates for us to be kicked out of football altogether let alone 'demoted' to the 4th division so as my auld Granny used to say 'Let hell slap it into them'

I bet they wish they had 4 years worth of back dated Rangers matches attendance money now.

14 Feb 2017 19:49:31
How could you wish that on any team? Aren't you all tired of Sevco jokes etc.? Gary you're a joke.

The Arabs deserve a club to support, Thomson is a crook. He would have fitted in perfectly with the likes of Green. Hope they don't go bust, I also moved to Dundee for uni and despite preferring Dundee (played with Nicky Low and adored big Harkins) it would be a disaster for them. They still pull great crowds. Having said that I would love Morton to go up so that would help.

Anyway, I would be surprised.

14 Feb 2017 20:17:30
People are allowed to have their opinion and its understandable there is a grudge there. But I wouldn't wish what happened to us on any club. Its a shame on the fans. Hopefully its at worse just admin and they don't go burst completely. Be difficult to come back from for them.

To be fair even taking financial stuff out the picture I think a one dundee team would be great. If the fans could get behind the idea, they could become another Hearts or Aberdeen.

I think merging a few teams close to each other could benefit the Scottish game to be honest. Would let teams fill their stadiums and be more competitive.

But its all down to what is acceptable to fans. let's face it we/ they would ever want to become a rantic fan

14 Feb 2017 20:54:14
Sick if the sevco jokes coming from Arabs, sheep and the likes let them suffer they were rapid to stick the knife in us so I'm within my rights to laugh when they go Tits up and savour the moment when they suffer. Spoc it's called karma

14 Feb 2017 22:56:19
It's within your rights, yes. And it's within others rights to disassociate themselves from you for utilising your right of expression.

To think that someone would be happy for a Scottish footballing institution to go into administration and subject it's thousands of supporters to the kind of mystery that we have endured for the last few years is absurd. It's not their fault that their Chairman is a tool and their club is, perhaps, in jeopardy.

No wonder some people can't stand Rangers' fans when attitudes like that are displayed. We're not out the woods yet and need all the help we can get - from whatever quarter.

14 Feb 2017 16:47:14
Interim manager is to be in place by the weekend. It's just till end of season as he does not want the job full time. Search will continue for the full time manager but the interim is Richard Gough.

14 Feb 2017 17:32:20
Hope not no experience we do want to finish 2nd and still have an outside chance of the Scottish cup. need to get back into Europe would help to bring a better calibre of player in

14 Feb 2017 17:42:42
So we had a inixperienced manager for 2years in warbutton and we are bring gough in he has no managerial experience at all what would the point be in that that won't help a bit.

14 Feb 2017 12:16:46
I saw an article saying that if de boar gets the job in the summer he will bring his brother as assistant manager and also create a world wide scouting network as this is where he feels we fall short of finding talent abroad and also use contact in Holland to find some amazing talent like Dick Advocaat did.

14 Feb 2017 12:48:25
Is he going to pay for the scouting system?

14 Feb 2017 12:33:31
And you actually believe that we are now in a financial position to do this?

14 Feb 2017 12:56:55
Must have a few bob so could ask him lol

14 Feb 2017 13:30:19
All very good in theory storm but we don't have a pot to p*ss in at the moment especially with the fat cockney man still hanging around us, until he goes for good I really can't see where the money to pay frank deboer as manager is going to come from never mind pay for scouting networks and transfer money for players as well

14 Feb 2017 14:05:22
Where is this article?

14 Feb 2017 15:05:26
McInnes has just resigned - he is our new manager i reckon

14 Feb 2017 15:13:50
Perhaps de boer is refering to his own various contacts he has built over his playing years. Makes me wonder why none of our ex players hav seen a young lad in a foreign league and given rangers a heads up. Mols, albertz, laudrup, gio surely hav seen someone at some point and thought they could do a job for us. Problem is ther who would they call n would they trust that a players career could be enhanced moving to rangers?

14 Feb 2017 11:29:05
warburton and mcpartland were scheisters, at least 6 of the players we signed and loan deals in the last couple of years were signed through Key Sports management where elisha warburton is player services manager, players signed on overinflated deals and prices for players (garner) new deals on improved terms (halliday, tavernier) all beneficial to our management team, who in there right mind would give five year deals to players not proven in SPL, idea was to play them and increase their value under the radar. The real reason our board was going to offload them as they have been bleeding us dry vultures.

14 Feb 2017 12:16:13
Someone had pointed the fact his daughter works with Key Sports before. It did seem rather strange that there was plenty of decent players available that we could have went for and instead ended up with duds.

14 Feb 2017 14:34:45
So it turns out we had two scouts, Frank McParland and Warburtons daughter .

14 Feb 2017 09:37:49
Anyone know if Frank Mcpharland was our one and only Scout?

14 Feb 2017 10:30:08
Yes, which is why all our permanent signings came from the lower leagues in England. Our scouting network is no better than it was under the old regime

14 Feb 2017 11:28:42
We desperately need to improve the scouting network.

14 Feb 2017 11:51:41
Its ok finding hidden talent in lower english leagues for teams like brentford huddersfield rotherham or finding young talent in Arsenal or Liverpools youth team to bring to Ibrox, but these young guys are coming from playing in front of 2 men and a dug to playing in front of 50000 expectant fans every week. and with lack of quality and experience round about them. its too much for most of them

14 Feb 2017 23:05:10
Wasn't Tavaneir worth £5million last year

As for Huddersfield, not a single rangers player including McKay would get on their bench

14 Feb 2017 01:14:27
McLeish gave a lot away in his comments on TV, expect Garner up front next week and Wilson at the back.

14 Feb 2017 07:30:32
Garner and Miller upfront. midfield 4 of Toral, Halliday, Hyndman and McKay. Defence: Wallace Hill, Senderos and Hodson. Foderingham in goal
Expect his side to be more organised and not as wreckless in posession i. e. No fannying about in front of your own goal. Goodbye Wes Beckenbauer. Hello Wes Foderingham.

14 Feb 2017 10:23:00
Halliday and senderos a bloody hope not

14 Feb 2017 11:03:41
Wilaon is a certainty

14 Feb 2017 11:33:25
as we are talking formations. i think we would be well suited to a 4-4-2.

foderingham

hodson hill Wilson Wallace

tavenier toral Hyndman McKay

garner/ waghorn miller

I really don't rate holt and halliday isn't good enough.

With this set up you can rotate in windass for toral and forrester on the wing for Tavenier.

its shocking we have found ourselves in this position, warburton should have fixed the defence as a priority and his midfield buys this season were a disaster.

On another note, Mcliesh till the end of the season for me. i'd like to hold off and see if Norwich fail to get promoted because I think they might let Alex Neil go then. he's a good option for us.

14 Feb 2017 11:49:58
If it is Eck I think he will play 5 3 2 with Wallace and Tav as wingbacks Wilson Kiernan and Hill in the centre Halliday McKay and Hyndman or Windass in midfield with garner miller or o'halleron up front making us difficult to breakdown but quick on the attack

14 Feb 2017 11:31:58
Halliday?

14 Feb 2017 11:40:14
Would go with that except move Toral inside and play Tav on right side of midfield he has played well in last two games and is a threat Halliday for me was very poor again on Sun

14 Feb 2017 12:36:09
We play Halliday because he is the only player we have who can play, admittedly very poorly, the defensive midfielder role. You need that link in a team between the defence and the midfield. It's not ideal but need to be practical.

14 Feb 2017 14:20:50
I've heard others say this as well, give Danny Wilson a shot in the defensive midfield role.
