john mcall calling for the government to bail us out. you couldn't make this stuff up!

Believable6 Unbelievable11

No hes not. Hes asking for an enquiry. This is whats on the BBC website
""It's the taxpayer who's on the hook here and the taxpayer has got to be paid and football clubs have got to realise that they have got to comply with the regulations that are laid down by parliament and HMRC."

I dont see any part of that calling for a government bail out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows the gov.com might think it will win an election lol look at rbs etc.

This is the best ever. Daniel Cousins can't play in the Spl because he wasn't registered with them in time but he can play in cup games because he was registered with the SFA but wait a minute rangers haven't got any cup games haha so he can collect 7.500 a week for nothing haha Jesus Christ I can't take anymore of this haha. Loving every minute Bigirishmac.

Believable25 Unbelievable7

Then he will be gone by the end of the week as he will be no.1 on the unnecessary expenses list. Muzz

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont kid yourself there,s always a way out of a contract!

Agree0 Disagree0

All contracts become null and void in a liquidated company, RFC will not be in Administration very long.

Agree0 Disagree0

F... Of wait no stay were going to the epl within the next2 years bye bye enjoy playing all the fanny teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Epl? Eskimo league is it? Hay little Billy were going to walk over the top of you's for years to come. Bigirishmac. In Craig Whyte we trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

He never signed a contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are the biggest comedy show in town, pmsl for last couple of months, great stuff craig white, keep up the good work.

Joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be er m8 blue til I die let's get Ibrox rocking

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean blue till your club dies? Ok, so you'll be blue for another fortnight maximum.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please do lads - it's so important that this galvanizes us as fans. The club dont so much need our financial support as the players and backroom team need our physical presence. Muzz

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from Celtic fans I've never heard ibrox rock, so it would be a first.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you are so great why didnt you show them how great you were against dundee utd. oh and now that the admins guys a ripping up the season tickets , there will be plenty of tickets for you to buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally an actual rangers supporter! we all need to remember we are supposed to be supporting our team. lets sing and jump and cheer on our team! ARE WE THE PEOPLE?Lets show that we are!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah,show up and put 1.5 milion pounds gate receipts in the Ibrox coffers.You are mugs if you do. {Ed001's Note - and if they don't the club will die. How will the likes of Dunfermline get their money if there is no income?}

Agree0 Disagree0

So many bitter celtic fans on here... long live Rangers F.C - Current SPL champions

Agree0 Disagree0

"So many bitter celtic fans on here... long live Rangers F.C - Current SPL champions"

Thats just the thing, it wont be long live Rangers. they are dying and im loving it.

Craig Whyte is a ghod in our eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed,you miss the point..1.5 million each home game is disappearing somewhere and it's not going to D.A.F.C. so carry on giving your hard earned cash to ..who? {Ed001's Note - the administrators are now in charge of all incomings and outgoings.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 22:00:01
Is the show of support still on at ibrox 1 hr before kick off.?

Believable15 Unbelievable17

No mate. We are all boycotting it now cos Whyte is a bell end

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I know it is.

GovanFR

Agree0 Disagree0

No..... and dont anyone buy tickets for when Rangers go to Parkhead either. Dont give that mob a penny

Agree0 Disagree0

We don`t need your money plz don`t grace our stadium with your disgrace plz plz plz don`t instead why not whip a hat around the 17000 or so of you on saturday and help your tax dogers out

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone please realise that whyte is a tiny speck in our great clubs history. You support the team and the club regardless of how well or bad we are doing, forget about whyte and whats going on and lets show our team that they have the greatest supporters in the world who stand together and are going to support our club through this.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will stand as one on Saturday and every other day to make sure Rangers as a Club and a Team come through this stronger. When did your COWSHED become classed as a stadium? Nothing more than a TIN HUT

2 new names have been registered with companies house.

Believable21 Unbelievable3

Lots of new names get registered at CH, but what is your point ????

Agree0 Disagree0

That happened ages sgo gdt into this century pal

Agree0 Disagree0

What are they then ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that also. Govan Dodgers FC Limited and Hearts of Midlothian Rangers Club FC

intresting story. John McFall wants FSA to probe Rangers takeover deal

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-17049723

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Treat it with a pinch of salt, his only interest is Celtic as he is one bitter little man! As a former constituent in Dumbarton I know what I am talking about he is a little .........

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's FSA, who's John McFall and what's interesting about it?. Maybe I'm sheltered but none of the above means anything to me...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lord John McCall is the former chairman of the Treasury Select Committee in the House of Commons, and the FSA is the Financial Services Authority, which is the regulator of all providers of financial services in the UK.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dumbarton man and only interested in one thing , he is a very bitter man and he is not of rangers mind

Hi ed can you answer this for me why did Whyte put a bid for holt of norwich city when their was no money to pay the deal ... Kenny {Ed001's Note - the bid was so low it was never going to be accepted, I would say it was just brinksmanship to stop people realising just how much trouble the club was in.}

Believable17 Unbelievable2

To make it look like we were trying to sign somebody but we werent we put in a bid knowing it would be rejected
AndyBear98

Agree0 Disagree0

They would have bumped norwich. We do not pay anyone. Fact!

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean it was an attempt to deceive the fans? Shock horror who would have thought it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Was to be payed 22000 grand a week and could travel from carlisle every day was agreed with ally FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

"Was to be payed 22000 grand a week and could travel from carlisle every day was agreed with ally FACT"

When you say "FACT" you mean PISH, right?

Agree0 Disagree0

When El Cid had died before a big battle, he was paraded around on his horse in his armour so the troops believed him to still be alive to raise moral. I can see why Whyte did it. Muzz

Has anybody thought of a new name , if the worst happens.

Bily

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Haha i just thought of a good one
"real glasgow rangers" :)

Agree0 Disagree0

RAIN GERS FC

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i want to be called robert

Agree0 Disagree0

The BBC website suggests Rangers should be cash-rich at present. Where has the cash gone? Will Craig Whyte fairly soon decide that Monaco (where he has lived during many of his many company collapses) is the place to be for the future. Maybe this could be his most lucrative failure yet ....!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fc rangers of govan

Agree0 Disagree0

Real glasgow rangers please stand up, please stand up
to the music of eminem "slim shady" lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Could it not just be Glasgow Rangers?

Agree0 Disagree0

Glasgow Rangers F.C not the official name so it can be used so that's why there will always be a rangers (Loyal Bear)

Agree0 Disagree0

What about teaming up with Hearts when they go bust and call yourselves Hearts of Midlothian Rangers Club or HMRC for short. lol

Joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Govan Dodgers

Agree0 Disagree0

The loan arangers garlar07

Agree0 Disagree0

The Obvious name would be Glasgow Rangers Football Club

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a precedent - Farsley Celtic went into Liquidation but the new club were not allowed to use the Celtic part - they are now Farsley Town . What about Govan Town ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Livingston or gretna

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Craig whyte has already bought the rights to 2 possible names

Agree0 Disagree0

If you use Govan Dodgers you might be able to get a baseball team ramped up too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers United and always will be !

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont need a new name. There name, because of the history, longevity and associations will be allowed to transfer...

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottish champions or theonlyyearcelticcanwiniswhenthegersaretore f.c

Agree0 Disagree0

How about

Soup Kitchen FC

or

Whyte Knight Juniors

Agree0 Disagree0

"rangers united and always will be" thats a long name to put on a shirt or banner is it not, just a thought we here about the loyal rangers fans loyal just to rangers now or still your queen , and if so dont you think you should pay her gov the money you owe rather than speculating how little you can get away with paying

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers 2012

its a sad day when other clubs are losing money (hearts, pars, dundee utd)due to the self made state of rangers.why should they suffer?the hard pressed taxpayer has to pay its tax why do rangers think they dont need to?rangers should pay up or shut up instead of wallowing in self pity...the simple fact is that its all their own making.

Believable32 Unbelievable17

Look what about Liverpool they owe us cash but don't think we will c that plus I don't think they will give a s**t

Agree0 Disagree0

Did the SPL not advance Motherwell their end of season payment when they hit trouble?

The SPL should advance any monies to Rangers but pay off the debts with the other clubs 1st before giving what's left to Rangers(Doubt there will be anything Hearts £800k, Utd £100k & Pars £80k).

This would allow the SPL to look after the other members interests.

The Pilot! {Ed001's Note - the SFA should do this as a matter of course, all monies owed will be used to pay off other clubs that are owed money before Rangers get any leftovers. That is standard practice in England now anyway.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Admin by some buisness analyst could have been avoided. Whyte encouraged it. He new what he was up to. Sickened

Agree0 Disagree0

Total true m8 deserve all they get we all have to pay it

Agree0 Disagree0

Very Original. How long did it take you to prepare thus inspired text.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be interesting to see what would happen to the spl financially if rangers didnt manage to get back in, for whatever reason, then you would see exactly how much rangers had indeed contributed and propped up other clubs who dont have a sizeable support and are more or less canon fodder in a footballing sense, year in year out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for clearing that up ed. Not paying the taxman is bad enough but not paying other clubs/members is morally not right.

I could live with cutting a deal with the taxman but the least we could do is honour the bills with the other SPL teams.

The Pilot! {Ed001's Note - I believe it is a UEFA or FIFA directive, but I am not 100% sure of that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How long did it take you to prepare thus inspired speech......about 2 minutes longer than mr whytes speech at the doors of ibrox, then again i never stuttered, blinked then ran behind shutters after i posted it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football Creditors Rule?

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't seem to understand. Generations of families from hard working class communities built this club up, going way back. Its them who will ultimately pay for the negligence of a privileged few.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd imagine this original post was from a timothy but I can't help agreein with it. Any money owed to other spl clubs from ticket sales should be paid immediately as it belongs to them and was paid for by the fans anyway so rangers aren't actually losin anythin. Also I would like to think to think Hearts would get what they're due too as we could sell Wallace for alot more than we owe them. This is all a matter of principles as we've had our reputation tarnished enough recently and we should want to show we are still capable of doin the decent thing. At some point in the future we are gona want to do business with these clubs again. And we certainly don't want inferior clubs lookin down their noses at us. We are a club built on principles and morals and I for one hope the administrators/board remember this!

Big GL

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honestly I just want our survival I font really care about other spl clubs who have bleed us dry at away games by putting prices up fleeced us for years anyway !

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure all Celtic fans and those of other clubs all pay their due taxes and don't cheat the state. Who u kidding. The fans of rangers the football club have no control over any misjudged decisions of the previous or current owners. Maybe we should all start shouting sack the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I've no interest in any of these diddy hangers on saying we owe them money. Rangers have been keeping them a float for years by bringing tv money and taking a huge support wherever they go. They should be meeting up to discuss how to help Rangers as the whole spl's livelihood depends on it. Ideally it would be great if we could get into epl and leave the rest on their arse where they belong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres too many people on here thinking this is a social club were in... morally wrong or not business is business and sometimes business arent working! its not as if weve not paid the money so we could give all the players a big bonus, its simply not there !!

FauldsRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Why must the Fans, SPL, workers etc be the ones to loose out? Why has no one asked questions such as, why did the bank force a deal with a known crook, Should they not be investgated. Why is there no real talk of Murray or Whyte being investigated for fraud. Murray for his role and Whyte for the PAYE scandal along with the rest of his scams in the last nine months!

Murray should have to deal with the 49mil tax case and Whyte should be either forced to pay the debts he has ran up or be jailed for his role in all of this!

Punish the people involved not the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

So what you are saying is that all other clubs and there loyal supporters are clowns because yous bring money too the the table , what money did yous bring , i will tell you stolen money from the people off scotland no sorry the united kingdom that you hold so close too your heart

Agree0 Disagree0

"We are a club built on principles and morals .... "

Surely that is one statement recent events have shown to be fundamentally untrue? Principled people pay their taxes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Entering into transfer deals when the plan is to go into adminisration has got to be the lowest of the low

Agree0 Disagree0

Other clubs should help rangers WHY not so long ago desperate to leave spl now other clubs should pay for your clubs dishonesty GROW UP join us in the real world

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 20:24:35
high level meeting at hampden friday between the admin and other league member clubs , the meeting has been called by the clubs that rangers owe money too, there is a lot off unhappy directors at league clubs who are joining the band wagon

Believable10 Unbelievable6

Witchhunt.

Agree0 Disagree0

These clubs obviously require the money a deservedly they should get it but I'd like to think they are just after answers as if the pursue legal action and try put more grief on rangers they could potentially end up with nothing so you've got to imagine they're money men realise this

Agree0 Disagree0

It really doesn't matter those clubs will probably not get their money because they are well down the lists of Rangers creditors.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 19:26:45
Rangers will be okay, Dundee FC were in admin and managed to get out by only paying 6p in the pound to creditors and HMRC

Believable17 Unbelievable22

Changed days since then. HMRC are on a witch hunt with Footie clubs now and want their pound of flesh. Firmly believe HMRC will force us into liquidation shortly.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance after whytes bravado wi HMRC. 6p in the pound would be a wet dream for him man. PaulRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

They didnt owe £50m to HMRC tho or any of the other millions of poundsworth of debts!

Agree0 Disagree0

It is totally crass of people to argue that a very minimal repayment to HMRC is acceptable. What sort of moral standard is that? Getting away with minimum restitution when the statutory law of the land has ben broken is hardly a victory.

This is exaccerbated when we now find out that, even on the back of the major tax isues accrued in Murray's time, the present owner has not paid a further 9 milllion legally due to be paid. Does that mean that the payroll manager was instructed to with hold this level of payment? How can any person have any moral or other credibility when there is behaviour like that

We keep hearing about the proud and illustrious history of Rangers and how the current management is tarnishing that image. People who are comfortable with the idea of getting out of paying what is due to the state do nothing to uphold what they think is a glorious history.Business and Company law may permit some sort of negotiation to make much smaller payments but it is all rather unedifying when the root cause of all this debt etc was clearly deliberate wrongdoing in Rangers and a Del Boy approach to running your Club.
If it turns out that Rangers will have to make only a small % repayment on the HMRC tax issue, then any claim to this being a Club of integrity, high standards and propriety will have evaporated

Decent people are brought up to know the difference between right and wrong and to pay their way. Anything else is nothing les than cheating and immoral.Remember, there is a big difference between a person who can't pay because he does not have the money and a person who deliberately finds or contrives a way not to pay. Which scenario describes Rangers ? Don't think there is much debate on that one

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing that might save rangers from liquidation is the threat of wider economic fallout in the spl and scotland. Suspect the politicians are working behind the scenes already.

Agree0 Disagree0

If RFC don't win the big tax case HMRC will probably be more than 75% of the creditors and from what you read at the moment they will not enter into a CVA. If that happens there will be no 6p in £. The debts will not be manageable and insolvency will follow

Agree0 Disagree0

But didn't Dundee only owe HMRC hundreds of thousands, not million of pounds. I think they will be looking for more the 6p from us...alot more.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was then, this is now, HMRC didnt have a Parliamentary Committee on their backs then. Letting Rangers escape sends the wrong message. these guys dont care if Rangers go into liquidation...busineses do that everyday and its of no concern to HMRC. Liquidation might send exactly the signal they want....dont screw around with the taxpayer.

Agree0 Disagree0

While it may have distrastrous ultimate consequences, those supporters who accept that your Club should face upto its full financial responsibilities have my respect. You are not responsible for the deliberate wrong doings of others yet a big part of your life is under serious threat.
The guy who asked why Rangers should get away wit it is correct - they should not

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundee paid off hmrc in full

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were our own country(total independence)do yous think alex salmond or any other politicians would be trying to pull strokes for you behind the scenes, something tells me not,so they should stay out of it and stick to politics(no place in football and i think we can all agree on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are going into liquidation .i know this is what hrmc want

Hearing on Clyde 1 and other sources that we still owe money for jelavic. Could rapid seek punishment from uefa if we can't pay??

Believable19 Unbelievable17

Thats nonsense because a rapid vienna spokesman said months ago that gers paid off the rest of the jelavic money

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a few weeks ago craig white said the money we got for jelivic would pay of what they owed in the jelivic transfer and they still had to pay 1million for james bettie! i heard this on the radio just after we sold jelivic!

Agree0 Disagree0

NO Clyde one comming out with bull just to stir everything up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds why do yous keep letting ppl put these posts on here about jelavic and us owing money to vienna for him WR DONt OWE ANY MONEY FOR HIM god sake ppl stop posting this crap sick of hearing same nonsrnce day in day out about this

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont listen to clyde to many timmys on there

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rangers go under Whyte will play the new rangers out of England. He has already hinted at it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still owe money it is due in the summer, so they will not be getting all of it now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact is timmy Whoever we owed Money to will only get a small small portion of whats owed !! Thats an even better method than Fergus had ...so sod of back to the giro dome and start saving for next months bottle o buckie ya loser.

Agree0 Disagree0

Administrators are looking to significantly reduce wage bill by selling 6 players this summer and releasing 6 instantly.

Sold
Davis
McGregor
Edu
Whittaker
Lafferty
Goian

Released
Papac (end of contract)
Cousin (not signed)
Naismith (due to injury, gutted with this one but to keep a player on the wage bill with a long term injury won't wash down)
Bartley (loan terminated)
Healy
Broadfoot (end of contract)

Expect Alexander, McKay, Kerkar, Bedoya, Ness, Wylde, Henning, Little, Marvin, Wallace and Perry to become regulars.

Believable20 Unbelievable27

Rangers have insurance on Naimith try again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we have until this summer!

Agree0 Disagree0

Celik could be offskis - if its found we GAIS the £240,000

Think the rest of the list is near bang on - think the naismith one is a good call although a bitter pill to swallow

Ryanrfc

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute tosh, administration means the club must be run as a going concern, players will not be sold immediately, but there salaries may be reduced.wish people would stop posting utter bull

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it will be sorted one way or the other before the tranfer window opens when we will be forced to sell players.
Naismith wont be released but alexander, kerkar and worse case goian and bocanegra cause they wont have much resale value cause of their age.

Agree0 Disagree0

Papac only on short term contract so possible even though think that would be bad finish for a great servant.Naismith on other hand, again unless the administrators are offering compensation then the club has a chain of care for a player who was injured "at work"

Agree0 Disagree0

I have it on good authority that this rumour is spot on. Apparently Whyte compiled a "list of suggestions" containing the names of players that the administrators could axe. This rumour is absolutely, but unfortunately, true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid guessing going on with this post. So far off the mark. To say that Wylde will become a regular is the most worrying thing about this whole mess. He'd struggle to get in the Third Lanark team.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are keeping kerker when his contract is up in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

So ur on the admin team now ??
why release nasiy when we will get cash for him what is with people who know nothing but think they know everything

TB

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes players wages can be reduced, but only with players approval.Other wise club would be in breach of contract and players can leave for nothing..They WILL be sold..Club will only be kept going as "Going Concern".All that means is they must fulfil fixtures. Under 19's can fulfil fixtures if needs be!!

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case he must be held accountable for he bull!it he has spouted. Whyte (on record) said he was going to invest up to 10 million in the team this year! The sooner the clubs books are revealed the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

And who would buy naismith until he fully proves his recovery?

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip who ever wrote this crap ... Rangers will have to part with a few but your list would mean we would be as well playing in the Highland League

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen as much as we do not want to hear these stories we have to be realistic, the big worrying one is clearly Naisy, but the administrators will get rid of players that are injured - FACT, someone made the point who would buy him when he is injured, well the same applies to us - he may not recover (hopefully he does) but that is the cold facts of administration..

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who can find a new club will be sold no matter the price. ultimately they are all s**te, so who cares. get out of admin, get some new investment and sign a new team!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you dont pay tax what's the chance you are paying insurance?....col

Agree0 Disagree0

"He'd struggle to get in the Third Lanark team".

You lot are the new 3rd Lanark so suck it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 19:04:27
paul murray on radio clyde stating that he has been inundated with enquiries about developing a consortium to buy rangers.

Believable32 Unbelievable12

He had his chance before and couldn't do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't allowed to do it more like, Whyte's offer was more appealing to Lloyds

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him have his say we need to look at the best options to get us out this mess as whyte i do not trust

Agree0 Disagree0

That was me pressing redial lol garlar07

Agree0 Disagree0

Interest is one thing, but investers with cold hard cash with little or no return on their investment is anther thing. Investers want a return, simples.

Agree0 Disagree0

No former board member should be let near the club. Its their fault we are in this mess.
He has a hard neck & so has Alastair Johnston absolutely laughable how these clowns laying everything at whyte`s door.
Get them aw tf.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last post, Paul Murray and his blue knights nonsense should not be trusted.

The only thing that can solve this problem is the fans, end of!

Paul Murray knew of this scandal and done hee haw! Are people really that stupid to trust him now. Rangers fans need to buy the club for it to be free of this corruption.

150,000 x £500 = 75m
Club run as a democracy ALL matters voted by those who invested
board members, manager ect voted by the fans

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no point in buying Rangers until the outcome of the tax case is known, if Rangers lose then it is certain the club will be liquidated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray tried to buy the club on the cheap last year, This year he wants to buy it with everyone else's money, doesn't seem much different from Craig Whyte!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 18:05:14
does any1 know if mcgregors been let got not ma rumour but its doin the rounds just askin if any1's heard anytin?

Believable15 Unbelievable23

Not a chance that makes no financial sense, they would offer him a pay cut and if not accepted they will sell him but they would not release him to save 4 or 5 months of £26k per week when they would surely be able to get £5m when transfer window opens.
Players like him, Davis, Whittaker and Naismith will be sold that's why they were given bumper new deals.
Its players who have decent wages but little time on their contracts that would be the 1st to go I would imagine.

theglasgowranger

Agree0 Disagree0

Been "let go" ha classic. Nah mate he's no been sold yet..... PaulRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

A heard use will be lucky if there's money left for a chomp by the Tim the administrator finished...
Happy bhoy?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt think so .think it would be players with lesser sell on value would be let go as likes of mcgregor ,davis ect have greater sell on value in summer so would be kept on till at least then...bigt

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will be be released on a free. Even If he us in say £25k per week with 4 months till the transfer window opens that's around £400k in wages and his resale value would be around £4-5 million

Agree0 Disagree0

McGregor is seen as a asset so unless he as been sold then NO, P.S LONG LIVE CRAIG WHTYE

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical person pish

Agree0 Disagree0

Other clubs aren't going to offer decent money for any player at Rangers. If and it's a big if Rangers keep paying the wages of their big earners they may get a few million for them, but i can see problems with wages in the near future which will then allow players to terminate their contracts and seek employment elsewhere like the lad Stevenson done at Hearts. McGregor wouldnt find it hard to pick up another club willing to pay him probably more than he's on now same with Naismith, Davis and a few others. Hard times ahead .......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

If the other rumour is true that Rangers have been trading "Insolvent" I don't think there is much choice...No money to pay bills, wages etc. means selling the most sellable assets in ANY business..And McGregor is probably THE most sellable

Why does every1 want the same people that brought us into the mess were in to take control of the club again? Does every1 forget the infamous head nod when asked about the possibility of administration. Mr Johnston was the first to say we could b facing this. They all sat there when this was happening. they've done nothing other than hinder the club since they left. Blaming other people for your mess still makes it your mess. I hope he stays well away. I don't know Of any other options but he's not the answer.

Believable23 Unbelievable6

Alastair Johnstone was brought in long after the years of over spending that got us into this mess. Since he came in the debt was drastically reduced, and then this tax case emerged. The bank pushed through the sale to whyte. Whyte has then come and had the fans and the media chasing shadows in terms of the clubs financing and his own gains. Where has all the money gone? He claims to have put in £33million of his own money, £24 million from ticketus, £5million for Jelavic. And within 9months we are in admin. If a high court judge says he cant believe a word Whyte says then what hope have we.

Agree0 Disagree0

David Murray and the banks were in total control of his web of companies,I think the former rangers directors were in the dark when it came MIH hence the couldn't get to see the big picture

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a wee thot why don't the Aluko family try and help out once AGAIN ?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alistair Johnstone would be better using his energy in trying to get a consortium together instead of all the I told you so stuff.
He has a vast wealth not just financially but of contacts in the US.
He says he has Rangers best interests at heart lets see him put his money where his mouth is.
And if Rangers pull through this and a new share issue is launched I would urge every true fan to buy shares to ensure the club gets the monet required and also to ensure one man cannot put us on this position again.

Believable27 Unbelievable6

If he wants to see Craig Whyte or the season ticket money again he better get a posse together lmfao .
Drewzybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you are right and given that Paul Murray at least is prepared to venture that he might be prepared to get involved with others then the most important thing he colud perhaps do is speak to Paul Murray and see if we could get this venture up and running i for my part have no way of competing with these type of supporters financially wise but will put my money where my mouth is and am prepared to start with 1k which while miles of the debt issue is a start so lets see who will respond to this post and perhaps we can start up some form of agreed collection plan.

Agree0 Disagree0

AJ had ample opportunity to put his money where his mouth is when he was in charge of the club....he didn't do it.

He was also brought in with the prupose of finding a new buying due to his wealth of contacts...how many did he come up with - NONE!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Best way forward is for Johnstone to contact Paul Murray and Dave King and try and get Jim McColl involved and sort out the debt and get rid of Whyte. As far as a share issue is concerned existing shareholders would require to be catered for before new share could be issued. I personally would be happy if four investors each took approx 17% of Whytes 85% of shares and placed the remaining approx 10% in trust to be adminstrated by an elected fans rep, ex players or manager. This way no one man could create this kind of mess again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte's people said he was a billionaire ffs now you are asking people to believe another fairy tale.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Johnstone had the cash or friends who had the cash he would have made a move last year ,Rangers are now unsellable as they are a toxic product

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim mccoll ?? Didn't know the beechgrove garden was doing that well :-)

I think Whyte has a master plan. Think about it he is using administration as a fast track way of getting us out of debt. Forfit the league this year and have the club in shape next season. Point
1 He is the main credidor and is owed 18mil so basicly he will safe guard ibrox stadium.
2. He will not have to pay the full amount to the tax man.
3. The money from season tickets and jelavic where is it?
I reckon because the club is in admin the people who gave the money wont get a penny. Then comes the master plan Mr whyte starts a new Rangers because the stadium is his and so is some of the players. Then comes the money from season tickets from the old Rangers and the money from Jelavic. Basicly we are debt free with some money to spend.

Believable24 Unbelievable44

He better not start a "new rangers" the most dominant domestic club in the world you cant just start over, if thats his sh:t£ plan then sum rich fan come forward and save us!!

MF WATP!!

Agree0 Disagree0

...and no ability to continue the history, the most important thing in my opinion...

Agree0 Disagree0

Er no,............................whytey boy will disappear over the horizon, and we will be stuffed for some time. He has a masterplan alright, but it involves craig whyte, he cudn t give a toss about us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly I do not think you understand? If it is a new Rangers there is no guarantee they will be allowed in the SPL.

Further to that The unaccounted money must be discovered as otherwise it would be illegal, he can't just keep the money and use it on a new company

Bankier Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont want a "new" rangers we want "the" rangers pure and simple and I will tell you now if that means we have to be in Celtic's shadow for the next 5 years then so be it - we can't just throw away 140 years of history

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah mate that's not a master plan that's something someone who has little or no regard for his own saftey would do... You can not bury our club on purpose an expect everything to be hunky dory? PaulRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

You simply can't do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats why there is a real serious possibility that Rangers as we know it will cease to exist with guys like you who dont value any of the history it has to be Rangers as we know it real joke if we even attempt to come back as a new club with this guy he is only interested in himself he simply does not give a s--- about the name of this clu and the sooner guys like you use your ears instead of your mouth we might just stand a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

New rangers no history for ever in our shadow mr whyte your our hero right up there with FERGUS

Agree0 Disagree0

The only way rangers can get away with not paying "THE BIG TAX BILL" is buy going into liquidation and emerging as a new rangers, because when we come out of administartion HMRC will put us back into it to get their £70mil+

Agree0 Disagree0

Whytes plan means that Rangers FC lasted exactly 140 years. We are in Year 0 of a new Rangers, simple. Accept it the club as was is no more. The only one that will emerge out of the debris with no losses is Whyte himself. Dignity ? OVER.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is someone at your door with a white coat on wanting to take you away - what you suggest is fantasy andcan not happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bankier
this seems to be the view of Celtic fans and a way in which they would hope to dominate the top tier for a while with no Rangers - however the Sky money would dry up and the other clubs would suffer as no Rangers travelling support to boost the coffers - Hibs - Ross County or Dundee - Kilmarnock not going to get more than 3000 so I think you would find the SPL would reinstae Rangers if required maybe with some penalties but they will be back in the top tier and back at the top in the future

Agree0 Disagree0

So his plan is to hide money, dont pay any bills to people who need it, come out of admin and reapear with all the hidden money. What a nice guy you must be to dream up a plan like that. Who cares who suffers along the way as long as Rangers are ok. Sounds like Whyte right enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Debt free with money to spend?they have to try and reach an agreement with the creditors.so we will still have to pay something and there is no way in hell the hmrc are going to accept a pence to the pound settlement. Its not a straight forward process, but i think ur right cw does have a plan and thats what worries me.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only masterplan whyte has is for his own gain.make no mistake this is what he does with ailing business's

Agree0 Disagree0

The only players that 'belong to' Craig Whyte are Wallace, Bedoya, Bocanegra and Goian. Aluko doesn't as he paid his own fee. You are not debt free as the money owed to the taxman is completely different to the £75 million debt you already have. The money from season tickets and the very small amount you actually got from the Jelavic transfer compared to the initial amount he was sold for, go to paying off the creditors. Whyte has no master plan, you are humped.

Agree0 Disagree0

It could very well be his plan.....who knows.

As for the rest of you it is it is not Whyte that has wiped out the History Murray did that with his poor management and running.

GDog
WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Posted earlier but it has yet to come up, saying a similar thing.

I reckon Whyte will transfer assets to the phoenix company he started a few weeks back, take over with the new company and liquidate the company he has who currently owns Rangers. History intact. No tax owed as the company will no longer exist. We will still be playing as Rangers FC. Leeds Utd did a similar thing in 2007. Ed, could you please correct me if this is a load of old cobblers? {Ed001's Note - it could be done, but it must be remembered that Leeds were not in this kind of difficulty at the time. It was simply an extremely shady move on the part of Bates. I would not suggest following any example that man has set at any point in time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot to mention we'll lose our entire history.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan, its right, dont throw away 140 years of history, but questions need to be asked about the running of the club, under the new fair play rules coming into force thru UEFA, no club will be able or should be able to spend above its means, so Rangers will be on a steady financial footing in the future, but liquidation and starting again, is the last resort and i dont think Whyte or the adminstrators would contemplate this as the anger from the fans would be unprecedented, the club can sell Murray Park, and get maybe 20 mill for the players, Naismith, McGregor, Davis etc, but keep the youth Ness, Wylde Hemmings and build from there, and within 2 seasons you will challange for the title again

Agree0 Disagree0

There is technically a brand new Leeds United since 2007. But it has kept its history, what makes Rangers FC any different?

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you for real you clown......by the way the taxman is not the enemy here, next time you want to complain about the NHS, the state of the roads, schools remember things would be better without tax dodgers like the "mighty gers"

Agree0 Disagree0

The good thing about whyte is he has lied about nearly everthing. so him saying he wont leave means he probably will which is the best thing he can do. graeme

Agree0 Disagree0

A history with a chapter where the taxpayer has been cheated for the sake of vanity is not worth keeping. The club should do the dignified thing and close its doors for good, like the News of the World had to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think they could all be in on it! Whyte knows the admin process inside out. Murray hired him! Its The only way they could clear the debt, and get ready
for yet another takeover! I just hope they really know what they are doing. HMRC are only interested in setting a legal president to catch bigger fish, they can reject the admin settlement, claim the full amount, and even force liquidation. IF they win tax case! But the country is in a mess so it doesnt make sense to liquidate everyone. They want to win and settle.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the cellic supporter complaining about the state of the nhs and our nations roads.if its all rangers fault then why does our great nation have £1.3 billion to offer India

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah... And all the fairies held hands and skipped down to the bluebell pixieland and lived happuly ever after!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers will come out this ok, look at Dundee FC, came out of admin only having to pay creditors and taxman 6p in the pound

Agree0 Disagree0

The old club must remain!
Who cares about admin being in our history books, I'd rather have the ancient history, the families who built our club, the trophies and the players... 54 and counting is the way it should remain!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a lot of rangers fans forget Sir David Murry has made a great successful chunk of that history. In my eyes hes a legend how can he possibly realize world governments wer gona trigger a financial crisis affecting football very badly. Rangers.F.C is going nowere.. :P

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers can issue an insolvency vlaim which means if they do go bust they won't need to start as a new name they can apply to stay in the same shape and form the team is in just now without the debt obviously an I personally think craig whyte has a plan of some sort like mentiones in this post , but it doesn't matter wether we agree about who's to blame , this or that , what matters is the we get behing glasgow rangers football club the most succesful team in the world and show our support to the team on the pitch , full house every game to show the boys we have faith and positivity

Agree0 Disagree0

Start a new team and we need to start in the third division

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you be the most successful club in the worls when you havnt won the big cup.most successful tax dodgers maybe,54 and stopped.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Global finacial crisis did not cause Rangers' troubles, David Murray did with his EBTs and his pretence of bankrolling the club when he was really running up a huge overdraft. He is the man who mortally wounded the Rangers, White just pulled the plug on the life support.

Hopefully david Cameron will follow his earlier example with fred goodwin and remove Murray's knighthood he did not earn it and he is a taxc dodger.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe this message, I have supported this club all my life and so has my dad and grandad, do you really think it's ok for the hiistory of this club to be ruined so craig whyte can get the club on the cheao, money that should have went to thetax man to pay for hospitals, is that the way you want rangers to be rememebered, i won't be supporting any club with rangers in their name that has that man at the helm and if you do you are not a real ger

The administrators have yet to announce if they will honour season tickets. Craig whyte said yes, they have not.

Believable21 Unbelievable3

If they dont honour the tickets, the games will be played with a very small crowd.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are Liquidated, which is what i am fully expecting now (Believe HMRC will force it by rejecting CVA), it won't matter whether our season tickets will be valid, they're will be no team to watch!

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whyte has said alot of things recently. I would take what he says with a pinch of salt.

Agree0 Disagree0

How could they not honour season tickets .after all mr clown has took loans out for next 3 years season tickets . No body would sign up again mate .... Kenny

Agree0 Disagree0

In a sense, owning a season book makes you a creditor of Rangers, as you purchased that in return for the provision of a service and or goods. They may no longer be able to provide that service, as the running costs of match day would at lets at need to be covered. Think policing and stewarding, catering, Energy costs, turnstile operations and so on. I would imagine that is runs into tens of thouosands of pounds, and must be covered from existing resources.

I think the is a strong possibility that whilst it looks as if Saturday s game is covered, that is no precedent for the remaining games. If their intention was to do this then it would have already been announced.

what kind of money have we been paying if we owe 9 million since last may seems a helluva lot to me,,anyone know how its so much

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Im not entirely sure but people need ot remember its not just players wages and staff ect ... they have advertisement , website management , elec, gas, water ,ground keeping , all the contract hire cars , there is a list you wouldn't imagine that they have to pay ... and at the end of the day it's all adding up .....

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like VERY bad management to me ,,what were the accountants and advisers doing surely they should have flagged this up a long time ago

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe that £5m is in PAYE over an 8 month period. All the players will be on higher rate tax, so 40% of their earnings above £32k (not sure of the exact figure) is paid in tax, plus there are NI contributions. A player on £10k a week would pay something over £4k in tax and NI, so over £200k for a year. Doesn't take too many of them to add that figure up, and if you look at the number of players on the payroll, you can understand hat. Other employees including coaching staff and anyone else directly employed by Rangers would be included in this figure of £5m. The balance is in VAT payments, which would be due on things like catering and ticket sales etc.

Some rumblings that if he cash on PAYE was deliberately withheld, that could constitute a criminal act, but I don't know for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thing to remember as well... Players like McGregor, Whittaker, Davis, etc will be on a 50% tax bracket so over a year, that's a fair few bob owed to the taxman.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not only that fellow bears, there may have been financial penalties on late payments and failure to pay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Tennents being associated with a club that have dodgy tax dealings. Not good for their image with the wider Scottish society.

Sponsors are always edgy about a connection to a failed buisness

Agree0 Disagree0

Any deal like this will have exit clauses, and will include things like the company being sponsored being associated with criminal or illegal activities, or activities inconsistent with he values of the sponsor. It'll be tricky from a legal perspective, but they may feel its not in their interests to be sponsoring a business associated with alleged tax evasion, as would appear to be the case with the PAYE issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Time may be a problem.Serious questions regarding the whereabouts of the money need to be answered, but that's for the future. If there is not enough money to allow the club to carry on at this time, then the administrators will have no option to but to liquidate the club. The administrators are now responsible legally for all payments. If there is not enought money to carry on,they will close the club.Let's hope there's a few quid around somewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as i can see right now we only have one possible good solution and that is paul murray and a blue knight consortium, i thought pw was meeting the administrators today but as the ed said a meeting between them has still to be confirmed... pw wants to know the extent of debt and trouble we are in and im positive once pw gets his questions answered he will make it public to the fans... and on another not i just saw a banner being put up outside ibrox saying "cw we want answers' on bbc scotland news at 1 30 on now... lets see what the biased broadcasting company has to say... on the other hand are they biased or are they telling the truth... my opinion is that they are telling the truth... full statement coming out of ibrox later this afternoon according to bbc... cousin not registred so he wont be a rangers player

Craig whyte away (home) to manaco nothing he can do now while the adminastrators run the club.He will be back when everything is sorted out to a debt free club then we will see the real craig whyte

Believable20 Unbelievable40

The 'real' craig whyte, first of all he has a mountain of questions to answer to every rangers fan on earth before he even considers coming back, at this moment in time i want him gone probably like the majority, alaister johnston and paul murray were right all along by the looks of things.

questions...

1) Why havent you paid 9 million in taxes since May
2) Where has the money gone you borrowed in advance for season tickets.
3) Where is the Jelavic transfer money
4) Why did you lie to the fans about borrowing the season ticket money and also about you investment.
5) How much money do you have and want to invest in Rangers
6) Why do HMRC see your evidence as unreliable
7) Why is David Murray saying he gave you obligations and wanted assurances from you that took you 6 months to respond to?

I wouldent trust him as far as i can throw him, obv its not his mess with the 49 million tax liability but the administration is all his doing as the 49 million has nothing to do with it!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whit?

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly, he cant be trusted.... start saving your money bears so when the blue knight comes around we can put our money into geting our club back

Agree0 Disagree0

What? if the Club manages to survive he'll come back to kill the clb off once and for all? No thanks!

Agree0 Disagree0

So you believe we will see the real Craig Whyte when he comes back are you serious this man has in 9 months done the following
1 Told us he invested 33m of his own money in the club (where is it?)
2 Failed to pay 9 months Paye and Vat to a total of 9m (why?)
3 Paid the debt of 18m to Llyods Bank but simply transfered it to one of his holding companies (that means Rangers will under administration have to pay him as the main creditor)
4 Needs to be confirmed but believed he may have transfered the title deeds of Ibrox Stadium to one of his companies (that will mean if we hope to continue we will be bound to pay rent to him to continue paying at Ibrox.)
5 Took advance ticket sales to the tune of 24.5 m via ticketus (just exactly where is this money?)
6 Two different courts of law state that he is not reliable (paints a clear picture)
7 Where is the money he got for the sale of Jelavic? (no doubt wher all the other missing money is)
8 Perhaps the most important as far as he is concerned is his statement that he has a plan (yes correct he has a plan but it will ruin Rangers.he will bleed this club dry) so dont kid yourself we have to seriously hope that Paul Murray can drum up the level of support we will need to perhaps maintain the club timeline and at the very least maintain the history and ensure the club operates correctly.even if it does mean we have to come to some form of agreement with HMRC who i would hope would prefer to retrieve a level of unpaid tax rather than receive nothing if the club ceased to exist.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why hasnt he paid 9 million taxes sinces may ? hmm , i wonder ... why the hell would he pay 9 million just now when we have been under investigation for a long time ... why pay a 9 million bill when their is a larger accumulative bill to be paid ... also to all these morons who still persist on asking why we never paid any transfer fees for players ..... WHY WOULD ANYONE IN BUSSINESS BUY ANYTHING WHILST ON THE VERGE OF ADMINISTRATION ... AYE THAT WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE SPEND 10 MILLION ON PLAYER 5, MILLION EVEN. THEN HAVE THE LIQUIDATOR SELL THEM ON FOR A CUT PRICE .... geezo open your eyes

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to add ... the jelivic money would be a wast-less investment in anything as i said .... liquidator would have sold on anybody we bought ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would Craig whyte pay 10 million in tax if he knew from day 1 that he would file for administration, he's screwed the taxman, same as you have screwed the tv company, he'd a been aswell throwing his 10m in a fire if that was the case,

You are wrong because even if whyte brings us back, which i dont think he will, how many buisness people will want to work with him eg sponsers etc fans being done over total lies. so in that sense we are fooked , might be debt free again which i doubt but nobody will touch him with a bargepole, the fans have to because our club is done without us and just hope somebody else to come in. craig+babybear

Agree0 Disagree0

I cannot believe there are fans on here who think it is ok not to pay any tax just because there is an outstanding case (which could be won by Rangers). It is morally corrupt and has lead to good people now potentially losing their jobs inside Rangers as HMRC has forced administration on the back of this. Wake up please!!

Anyone got any idea how we go about contacting Paul Murray to be part of the Blue Knights?

Believable21 Unbelievable7

Wouldn't waste your time. With Craig Whyte having a floating charge over the club, Murray will be dancing to Whyte's tune.

Agree0 Disagree0

Try Camelot at the round table, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue knights more like Murrayites. In White we trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok i don't claim to know the exact way but you can Try through any media outlet bbc,itv daily record or rangers trust that kinda thing they will or should point you in the right direction of how to contact him the trust might be able to contact him for you

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Murray is just wanting his face in the paper. He is full of s**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just sent an e-mail to the Daily Record journalist who wrote the Paul Murray story asking for a contact which we could contact to show our support...k.jackson@dailyrecord.co.uk

Surely if enough of us contact them then they have to pass info on?

Anyway, just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's no point in getting on Paul murrays back, the guy has clearly seen how bad it has got at rangers and wants to help out. And us as fans must help, what happened to celtic when they were in trouble, the fans helped out, what happened to Partick Thistle when they were in trouble, the fans helped out, it's time to put your money where your mouth is and help out one of the greatest teams in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it goes without saying that mostly every fan would want to help. The thing is that no-one seems to really know where to begin...petitions, fund raising or even a donation account being set up. This would all need one person to take charge and organise (with exception to fundraising, obv anyone can do that.) Hence why the OP was looking for a way to contact PM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Complete long shot I admit for the love of my club I would be willing. If we could get 50,000 Rangers supporters to invest £1,000 into Rangers we would raise £50 million. I'm not saying to give to Whyte I'm meaning either Murray or look at being a fan owned club - just an idea

Agree0 Disagree0

If you find out please let me know as I want to get involved too! also does anyone know if the rumours are true of Whyte heading to Monaco? I would back Paul Murray on a fan take over. we need Whyte away from our club before he ruins us! WE ARE THE PEOPLE! and this is OUR club

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately it is 85% Whyte's club and until/unless it goes into liquidation it will remain his property with the Administrator to sell what he can and probably if this happens to sell it bit by bit

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic shout reference the 1,000 quid per head, this is certainly the route to go, as other investments could be shared percentage-wise at reasonably low cost, 100 quid a year top-ups?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have emailed the Daily Record and also the Supporters Club...hopefully get a reply! Whilst I agree that the fans should start contributing, I think that in these financial times, £1000 to contribute is an awful lot of money to ask your average joe bloggs off the street to part with. As much as I would love to be able to afford that, financially I just cant. Every penny counts in a situation like this, and even every supporter contributing what they can will help in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

There were in the region of 200,000 fans in Manchester and who knows how many worldwide, if Paul Murray can get this together with consortium partners we could save Rangers. Lets get behind Paul Murray and get the club back in the hands of genuine Rangers fans. Remember everyone......KEEP BELIEVING!

Does anybody not think its a coincidence that Andrew Ellis was appointed to the board and his main industry of choice is property development. I think Murray Park will be sold off to Ellis who will then in turn flatten murray park and build houses on the land therefore giving Rangers some much needed money for the land Murray Park is situated on.

Believable10 Unbelievable30

Murray Park cannot be built on, it was part of the sale of the land to murray that it wouldn't end up as flats

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard somewhere that the land that Murray park is on can't be used for housing....

Agree0 Disagree0

David Murray and not Rangers owns Murray Park.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I completely agree with your concerns over Ellis, I don't think Murray Park is the issue here. From what I remember, Murray Park sits on land known, ironically enough, as a green belt - this means housing developments are not possible. I still question his involvement though, I think we all do.

Agree0 Disagree0

The land cannot be used for housing as it is not included within the ''local plan'' if it were the club could never have afforded to buy it in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

David Murray owns Murray Park and it is built on land that is still owned by the council, so there is no way possible they can flatten it and build flats. Plus the point it is green belt area.

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares, its not exactly a hotbed of talent is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

The ground at MP cannot be used for property development. EDC will not allow it and cant see that changing in the near future!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

The airport bear ... Personaly I think Murray park is the biggest white elephant 14 million to build and millions a year running costs ... It's a bit fancy for training and playing under 19 games , whyte was berated by a few Belfast bears last night at security ...

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not allowed to build houses on it plannin permission was denied previously and council have stated this would not be granted. THerefore murray park will probably remain. Thank God because it is providing so much talent !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

As rangers are tenants at of SDM at MP will the admin continue to pay?

If not then will SDM allow them free use or kick em out?

You can use barrowfield as we have our own talent developer at Lennoxtown.

I was speaking with a Financial Advisor last night who specialises in working with professional sports people and asked about the way the EBT would likely go. By all accounts people in the know through in Edinburgh knew about SDM making a huge mistake by providing the players being paid using EBT with a letter stating (memorandom
Of comfort)

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Totally true. This MOC implies that the EBT is being used to pay someone and avoid PAYE / NI. If the EBT had been used as a yearly bonus or top up with no MOC then there be no case for HMRC. It's how we (or our advisors) set it up that is the problem; perhaps a case to answer here or are they on of the previous Directors friends?

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case - should the club not be going after those that set it up in the first place then?
bill72

Agree0 Disagree0

Be careful in digging too deeply into the past here. There are a number of Edinburgh bankers and professionals who could find themselves in the dock over some of the "skeletons" in SDM closet. For example the continual re-valuation of Ibrox to secure debt against....the sale then lease back of certain land around the stadium.....

Cousin deal is off, Bartley sent back to arsenal tomorrow, all players whose contracts expire in summer to go in the next day or to, and lafferty finished cos they owe burnley money when he plays 100 games-he's at 98!! all facts lads!

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Rangers have no money due on Lafferty. He's well over the 100 games anyway. Burnley have confirmed this to a certain Irish journalist.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact you say!!
Well according to Rangers FC big Kyle Lafferty has played 101 games so what does that say about your facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

paul murray must have been waiting in the wings for something like this to happen. i reckon he's sounded out investors to form a consortium already n just awaiting a figure to be agreed to take control of our club. the bank knocked back his previous bid in favour of whytes this time its down to the administrators. lets get behind this guy n get our club back in the hands of people who care for it. we're not done yet but each day that passes that whytes at the helm i fear the worst.

I think the mismanagement at our club has been nothing short of shambolic over the last decade or more including the takeover.

All that matters now is survival and we must get behind anyone that is putting our club 1st, not their pockets.

Paul Murray i really hope you can orchestrate the greatest resurrection since lazarus!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul murray is this the guy that was a director and his possission was to over see our books before Whyte came in ? well what does he know ? think he has an agenda to out do Whyte

Agree0 Disagree0

If you recall his initial takeover bid he proposed money be made available to ally to strengthen the team. he wanted to keep re paying the bank as per the aggreement that was in place at the time. however the bank pushed whytes bid to clear the debt straight away. paul murrays bid was better for the team/fans, whytes bid suited the money men better. at least thats what was being reported in the press at the time. i say this guy has our best interests at heart and i heard dave kings name mentioned as part of his consortium, a well known rangers fan. i am more than confident he isn't out to gain personally from our club. paul murray may just become the most celebrated figure in our clubs history if he pulls this off.
j1985

How would it be right up Souness's Alley - how many club takeovers has he been involved in.

I am in favour of protesting and getting Whyte out, but can someone please tell me how we can and what would be the point. Who owns Murray Park? Is this a sellable asset??

Believable7 Unbelievable10

As far as I'm aware sir David Murray built Murray park with £13.5m of his own cash and has retained this so your answer is no It is not a selable asset for rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray still ownes this from what I have heard

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently it is a sellable asset, but i was under the impression SDM still owned it and Rangers were renting it back off him.

Bluenose 1872

Agree0 Disagree0

It was meant to be Murray's legacy that he left Rangers with Murray Park and a secure future!

Murray still owns Murray park and the agreement is that any player coming through the academy needs to be paid for by Rangers, but this money does not go to Murray but into re-investing in youth players.

The Pilot!

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the same that MIH owned it and it can not be sold but papers are saying it is worth 14m and could be sold confused.com

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether it's a sellable asset or not it cannot be built, would be of no use to property developers

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray Park is owned by Rangers FC - you can easily find this information if you check with the Land Register of Scotland.

This makes Murray Park an asset which can be sold, however a property is only worth what someone is willing to pay! Who is going to buy it as a training facility, it is worth the land that it is on for development - nothing more!

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray Park was listed as an asset on SSN last night. Ibrox Stadium, Murray Park training ground, players, the Rangers brand, revenue from broadcast rights and the rights to sell club merchandise and catering at the stadium are all things that could theoretically be sold to release some capital.

I have tried to find out if Rangers do actually hold Ibrox and Murray Park but found nothing concrete.

It has been suggested that MIH own Murray Park and lease it to Rangers Youth Development Ltd and Ibrox is owned by the Lawrence Trust Fund but I cant find anything to back this up.

Part of the sale to CW stated that Stadium improvements were needed... that would suggest that Rangers Plc do actually own Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers own Ibrox. This was detailed Bain's court action against Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed can u help with this ?? {Ed001's Note - it is listed as a Rangers asset, on what basis it belongs to them it is very difficult to be sure. Ownership can be a very murky business, just ask the Leeds United fans.}

The training ground (Murray Park) cannot be sold for house-building due to greenbelt restrictions.

So limited on what or who would actually want it!

paul murray will meet with rangers administrators today to find out true extent of club debt etc, and is in negociations about taking over the club along with a consortium.. if this is the case we all have to get behind the guy cause he appears at this moment in time to be our only hope!

Believable20 Unbelievable11

Why has Paul Murray waited until we went into Administration to make this kind gesture?
Every former member of the board should not be allowed near the place they are incompetent.

Agree0 Disagree0

A consortium coming up with £100+million between them for the love of their club and a guarantee of no return on their investment.

Rangers are doomed.

Agree0 Disagree0

It will take weeks to work out how much debt we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because in administration this consortium wouldn't have to pay anything like 100million. Its in the best interest of all creditors for rangers to be sold as a whole out of admin because in them getting paid something through admin is nearly always more than they will get through a "fire sale" in liquidation. If this consortium can gather together about £40 million it should be enough to buy the club and make it debt free. Whyte will get the first £18 million and the rest of the creditors (inlcluding HMRC) will get whats left.
The assets on their own aren't worth much to sell on to anything other than a football club

Agree0 Disagree0

That's agreat idea. Lets bring back one of the directors who was in place when the club was in dire straits. He wanted to take the club over but only if he could pass the debt o the Murray Group and funnily enough SDM said get lost. Tell you what, if Craig Whyte takes all the debt I will take over...do me a favour. You are clutching at straws. The best Rangers can hope for is to still be in existence once all the mud has cleared. Lets not kid ourselves here, all your assets are under threat, that includes IbroX, players I would say season ticket money but that has already gone. There will be no easy way out of this as htere are too many people waiting in the wings for their money. What about Dundee Utd , havent been paid their money from the cup tie yet, so your ineptitude is now having a knock on effect already on the smaller clubs but I am sure you lot dont care about that. I hope the full force of the law comes down to bear on Ranger for what they have done, will I be upset if they go out of business , no, because it just means that decent , honest clubs will flourish. Please dont be foole dinto thinking everything will disappear because Rangers arent there, it wont, if anything the smaller clubs will grow, will keep their players so they will get better, there will be more trophy winners and everybody will be playing on a level playing field, no cheating.

Agree0 Disagree0

How exactly will smaller firms grow with no sky money, no rangers visiting fans and no interest in the scottish game. Fans of smaller clubs are totally deluded if they think this is a good thing for their club

Agree0 Disagree0

Tp the nameless above...
You clearly hate rangers more than support your own team as you are believing/hoping the worst will happen. I think that murray will come in for a bid to help the club and if so i also believe that we will get out of this mess. Also you can't call our team dishonest when hearts and celtic have both been in dire financial positions( as have many others). The spl would not flourish if sky withdrew their funding that includes celtic! BOTH are needed to survive
EKger

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol smaller clubs will grow, awww you have to laugh at these comments, If Rangers were not in the SPL, your TV deal would be gone dont you understand, the only attraction at the moment to the scottish game is the OLD Firm derby, if we werent there the league would become a pub league just like the welsh league, teams in the SPL survive off going to parkhead and Ibrox twice a season so dont post such guff and wake up

The administrators and HMRC held a
meeting at Ibrox last night, in the absence of Craig Whyte (who has been told to only present at Ibrox on invite from the administrators).

It has apparently become clear that HMRC will nto resolve any liability due for a sum less than the full amount (i.e., there willbe no deal cut on the current oustanding liabilities and any that may result from the big tax case).

This has serious ramifications for Rangers resolving a CVA (since HMRC is a primary creditor - by percentage share of liabilities).

The rumour spilling out of Ibrox last night was that if a CVA cannot be raised (which appears unlikely given HMRC's stance of using rangers as a test case (even if they wind them up)), then the adminsitrators may quickly move to wind the club up and dissolve them.

Believable24 Unbelievable24

Whats the source of this. can u give us a link to the story please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with post. No way will HMRC allow Rangers to pay less than what's owed. Think its certain that Rangers will be dissolved and a new company will be formed. Only issue then is where Rangers go from there. The size of support and the sky deal will probably ensure Rangers remain in the SPL but could face a points penalty in the 1st couple of seasons and of course no european football

Agree0 Disagree0

They cant hold a meeting wthout craig whyte

Agree0 Disagree0

The tax man will allways take a bit of some thing rather than all of nothing. they no white has the balls to sink rangers and re start a pheonix club. so in my opinion they will deal as they are a non secured creditor and white has secured creditor status for his 18mill so gits his cash befor tax man. bbb

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC are only involved with the unpaid bill since May at this moment.they will pursue Rangers for larger tax bill if the court judgment goes. Against Rangers. Why Whyte has not already paid outstanding tax bill is beyond us all considering the money accumulated since he has taken over.question could sharholders not ask fraud squad to look into where all our money has gone. Sad sad times.

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC have already stated that no deals will be made and 100% of any liabilities must be paid.

They are not going to let Rangers off with anything for one reason - 10 English Premier clubs are at this moment shaking in their boots waiting for the outcome of this - they have all used the EBT scheme and HMRC want to take them all to task.

It is rumoured Arsenals tax bill could be £200m if HMRC win the case against Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

You my friend are b*****ks, if HMRC don't agree its as simple as that, we go into liquidation and they get nothing!, they will come to a deal i think, 25 mill or above, there like people who change minds at the last minute, nobody wants to see rangers go down, not even them IMO as somebody pointed out arsenal‘s 200 mill tax bill then they won't really mind gettin less money from ours. TBH if somebody invested into the SPL as a whole then maybe, just maybe we wouldn't be in this mess like administration wise cos if the SPL was as big as the EPL we could sell our players for like 30 + mill yes i know exajuration lol but come on lol, (Loyal Bear)

Agree0 Disagree0

And be able to pay off our debt no problem, sorry guys for got to add that in lol (Loyal Bear)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi to the poster above................Where are you going to get £25m from never mind the £75 that's owed to HMRC??
The truth is RFC will be liquidated by HMRC to make a point to all the EPL teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Less value in dissolving the club, non-starter

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a friend who works for HMRC. He has had nothing to do with the Rangers case at all but does know some who have. He has told me that there has been almost 20 meetings in the last 6 months with various HMRC managers, lawyers, government officials and other high ranking people from some agencies etc. The issue HMRC have is not whether or not they win the case. They know they have won and Rangers are liable for the full amount of tax due. The problem is, they know that if they insist they get all the money due, they will put Rangers into liquidation and possibly only get 10p in the pound. However if they do a deal for a lesser amount, it will give the green light to all other football clubs not to pay their tax bills and end up only having to pay a percentage. Their problem is that the ordinary tax payer and the uk government would then be losing a lot of money. The upshot is, they dont want to put Rangers into liquidation but they may not have any choice.
