Rumour has it we want to sign OJO on a permanent. to be honest, hope no. think Jones is far better. wingers are meant to run up the wing constantly. no way will OJO ever be a winger.

17 Oct 2019 19:52:19
I must admit that I agree DSGERSFAN👍.

17 Oct 2019 19:57:32
The boy is still young football has changed mate he’s been asked to play as a false 9 in this formation and has a free role. The boy is a flying machine and has some left foot 5 goals 5 assists already this season. It’s only October people need to calm down. Starting to think most our fans have serious issues.

17 Oct 2019 20:09:04
I seem to remember that Ryan Kent struggled to adapt to our game in the first half of last season. How did that turn out. Ojo is young and highly rated. His form so far has been up and down, which I would expect from a young player moving to another country, with a completely different playing style. However I believe he will come good and if we did manage to sign him on a perm contract, he would be a great addition who's value will only increase.

17 Oct 2019 20:38:00
Ed001 did you not say that the reports from each loan spell that ojo has had weren't great and that he is a lazy player. To be honest that sums up ojo👍.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate the loans never went well. However he has worked well under Michael Beale.}

17 Oct 2019 20:46:10
Although I don't rate Ojo with regards to most of his recent performances on the whole, he has the major attributes to become a very good player that you are born with, the rest can be coached. I believe if signed his level would go up a notch or two as he would feel part of the club. If the management team see something i'm with them regardless of my opinion. At least they have seen and know him properly not like Grezda.

17 Oct 2019 21:08:24
Maybe the reason is because he is Lazy TJBB hence why he isn't performing to which his attributes suggest. It is alarming that each loan report never went well. Surely each loan club can't be wrong in their assessment of ojo? 👍.

17 Oct 2019 22:25:21
Coldo your saying each loan report didn’t go well did Kent’s go well till he joined us give the guy a chance.

17 Oct 2019 22:46:32
I hope he does prove me wrong gersman but I haven't seen anything from him that makes me think he can seriously improve. Apart from his goal against feyenoord which was class, every game he flatters to decieve. Maybe the hype that he came with and fans saying he is going to be better than kent has made me expect too much to soon, time will tell👍.

17 Oct 2019 22:49:16
Hi Coldo, You know I don't particularity rate Ojo however I can't sign up to the lazy tag as these players are measured by GPS and sophisticated telemetry. I would hope any lazy player that was found out would be highlighted and pushed down the pecking order unless Liverpool was pulling the strings. i'm only a maths guy but maybe there are some sports scientist out there that can shed some light on this as I don't think you can get away with it anymore.

18 Oct 2019 05:12:41
Ojo must be lazy and rubbish, coldo says so👍.

18 Oct 2019 06:33:02
Kents previous loans at bristol city and freiburg were also extremly poor. couldn't get a game at bristol.

18 Oct 2019 09:38:01
yes tjbb they wear vests with telemetry devices in. it gives the fitness coach all the info on how fast/ far etc and how his body is reacting. if an issue arrises then they can sub him, and also recreate the workload in training so he is fitter.

18 Oct 2019 09:56:23
It may tell coaches how far they have ran etc but it won't highlight someone that half heartedly tracks back or rarely makes a run in behind. These are the parts of his game where he is lazy. Just because a GPS said he has ran x amount of kilometers means nothing. 👍.

{Ed001's Note - actually they do highlight those things. They show the speed someone has moved at, so they can see when they are sprinting. The number of sprints in a game is something they often look at as a basic stat when comparing players.}

18 Oct 2019 09:59:08
Yes paul they weren't great but its the feedback about being lazy and disinterested that was reported about ojo not kent. And so far it is a very similar story. 👍.

18 Oct 2019 10:13:27
It will show you speed distance ed but it won't hightlight when someone doesn't track or not make a run when they should? 👍.

{Ed001's Note - it should do. The ones used at every other club do. The data analysts will go through the footage and the GPS data side by side when they analyse games.}

18 Oct 2019 10:30:32
I just read a few articles there ed, and it doesn't break it down to individual minutes. It shows powerburts, distance, speed, sprints and when you tire. Its aim is to improve fitness and not how to improve your game. Gps side by side footage, but gps alone will not tell you that you should have made a run in 63rd minute. The only way to make that assessment on how lazy a player is in certain situations is to watch footage, not gps👍.

{Ed001's Note - you have to match the footage to gps data, and the heart rate monitor etc to get the full picture. Otherwise you don't know if he is just cruising back because he is tired. You may have read a few articles, but I have spent the last 16 years studying this aspect of the game and sports in general. You need all the data as a whole to really judge what is going on. It might be that his natural fitness is lower than the next player, that his heart rate is maxed out and he simply is incapable of putting in the work. Not every person can be a grafter, genetics make a huge difference. Or it could be that he needs his training regime altered to work on his stamina. Or yes, he could simply be lazy. He could even have mental or physical health issues which are causing problems.}

18 Oct 2019 10:55:41
Yeah that was my original point ed, gps alone does not paint the full picture. 👍.

18 Oct 2019 11:31:24
Coldo, Get behind the players who wear our shirt.

18 Oct 2019 11:36:50
So Ojo is now lazy ( according to the font of all football wisdom, coldo) Add that to being mediocre and sh*t. Ojo has played 15 odd games, has 4 assists and 5 goals, including the winner against Feynoord. 👍.

18 Oct 2019 11:53:40
Dk19 mr grumpy, don't settle for mediocrity👍.

18 Oct 2019 13:15:34
Ojo is the new Josh Windass the way he splits the fans. Some like him, some never will. He has talent that can't be denied but he is extremely frustrating.

18 Oct 2019 14:00:41
Thats prob the best way to put it C. He's never lived up to the hype wherever he has been and to be honest I don't see what all the hype is about. 👍.

18 Oct 2019 15:40:42
I (like most on here) have been pretty unimpressed by Ojo. He seems to have bags of ability but doesn’t seem to know how best to apply those skills. His movement, both on and off the ball are extremely poor and his fitness is well below par. Atm after 60-70 mins he is completely gone.

However these are aspects of a young players game that can be improved on by good coaching. My only concerns are atm he shouldn’t be a first team pick as I think we have better options and he could be used to better effect coming off the bench. And also if we are to develop him then it’s for Liverpool’s benefit not ours.

18 Oct 2019 22:43:43
Ojo's stats areas good as anybody's this season, if Ryen is fit for Sunday, I don't think he'll start, Ryan jack will be back, and, I think that Aribo will also get some game time, he won't start though after his travels this week.

19 Oct 2019 08:06:38
Ryan jack is out👍.

19 Oct 2019 08:48:48
Coldo, spot on my friend, I missed that point when reading the Rangers web page yesterday.

21 Oct 2019 21:33:23
If Mccoist had scored the goal ojo scored against Feyenoord. he would be hailed a hero even although he had done nothing else all game . ojo scores and it’s . so he scores the odd goal and assists. The guy just needs to realise he has to give a little more to survive this over critical support.

25 Oct 2019 11:32:51
mccoist did score goaks like Ojo's and people complained about him being lazy and incompetent too!

25 Oct 2019 17:04:00
I hope we sign Ojo up, just to annoy Coldo ;)

17 Oct 2019 12:25:47
I'm hearing that Rangers are after another CB,19 years old Lewis Gibson from Everton, What's everyone's thoughts if true, 🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍.

17 Oct 2019 12:46:09
Don't know anything about him cunny but I think its a positive sign that we are able to get players who want to come to us from the academy's of the top eng teams👍.

17 Oct 2019 13:47:28
Agree coldo like Aribo we get a six million player for development fee, it is the way forward.

17 Oct 2019 15:05:50
Great market with the way the cross border compensation fee system works.

17 Oct 2019 15:34:51
Young players down south rarely get a chance at the big clubs, we should be taking advantage of the cross border compensation and enticing these young players with a platform to perform. Particularly with Gerrard being the manager, he would have been an idol for the majority of these young players. To be honest I think a lot of the young players down there know that their future lies away from their current club. 👍.

17 Oct 2019 16:15:22
Its about time it worked in our favour. Losing Billy Gilmour was a sore one. I know we sold him hopefully with a sell on but would have lost him for peanuts.

17 Oct 2019 16:34:28
Problem is even some of the academy players may have to take drop in money to come up here.

17 Oct 2019 18:24:41
Signing talented young players from down south is the way to go. On loan but preferably for a development fee. Hopefully certain supporters give these lads a chance before deciding they're sh*te!

17 Oct 2019 19:03:11
Exactly mr grumpy, how can we call our own players that.

17 Oct 2019 19:53:35
Sometimes they just are ****. 👍.

17 Oct 2019 20:30:54
Have to agree with most, its the correct way for our football club to go. Picking up these good young players from academy's down south,
just as they're about to go out of contract. We pick them up for buttons due to the small cross border fees and if they reach their full potential, we sell them on for big fees and so the conveyor belt continues.

18 Oct 2019 22:46:21
We need to be seeing some of our own talent getting some game time, instead of continually sending them out on loan.
