John25 I read one of your earlier posts saying we are going to let a few players leave? And you think we need 3 in but you have heard it will be 5? Is this 5 players out with what we already brought in?

Bgate yes I believe that to be the case. If say mccrorie, Docherty, Jones, stewart, Barker, Murphy Middleton to free up money for wages I think it leaves us short in terms of numbers.
Add in injury, loss of form suspension we would be tight.
Let’s be honest none of the above will win us league, we need better.
Remember also we have moved on
Foderingham, Alnwick, Halliday, hastie, ojo, rossiter Flanagan

Katic out for season Defoe who knows
Some young lads still to go out on loan when lower leagues start, mb Mayo, mcpake, mebube . A lot out.

Fully agree with those that should be moved on and would add Arfield to the list, (perhaps in lace of Jones) . I believe that we still need a quality box to box midfield player and a quality winger, (two if we allow Kent to go to Leeds) .

Why can't doc get s game he is better than arfield and kamara and cheaper yet we are linked with do many midfielders not to mention Middleton Murphy Jones and the late mcrorie which was a mistake letting him go. Far better that kamara in my book.

Lagerlout, although I am not a Kamara fan I would say that he is better than Docherty however I do agree 100% that Docherty would be a better option as cover for Aribo than Arfield. Arfield, like Davis, is another whose best football days are behind him. Docherty has more drive and battling qualities than Arfield and is most likely less expensive and we might even be able to make some money on Arfield.

350k + addons which I expect it Sell on etc is decent business for someone who wasn't getting any game time at all. All these small fees + saved wages add up.

Disgusted with letting him go. All i hear is fans saying, "but who would he replace in midfield" the midfield isn't exactly doing a great job so there is your answer. Kamara isn't doing anything, Jack has been dropping almost to CB just to pick the ball up and pass it sideways and Arfield is on his own.

Guys I’m a massive mccrorie fan, I know his family very well. The lad asked to leave rangers to get game time.
He struggled when fit to get a game at Portsmouth, I feel due to the fact he does not have a settled position.
He was a good hard player when he broke into first team but unfortunately was not able to kick on.
As his mother wrote elsewhere, that’s the nature of football.
He could have stayed with us and picked up a wage for doing nothing for the next two years, but the lad wanted to play football, so good luck.

I wish mcrorie all the best. Got to say I like him, whole hearted player. Would say he’s been a victim of his versatility. I think he’d have developed more if played in one position more regular, probably cdm or right back . Good luck and all the best Ross.

Kamara and Jack worked their socks off in the Livi game, and if you watch again, kamara made some great forward runs too. Also, the square passing has a reason, we are looking to move their players around to make openings for attacking passes, not complicated.

bizz, we were shocking and maybe, just maybe, that is why we didn't win! The midfield was discussed by just about every pundit covering the game and they all had the same conclusion, which is very different to yours.

Jack and Kamara are both good players but they are not creative enough, the system we play is absolutely fine if if the 2 DMs have the right quality to pick out runners but like I said before they pass the ball sideways to each other too much and teams have ample time to set up behind the ball and make it extremely difficult to brake them down.

Like mccrorie but ferguson would be an improvement in midfield think he's better more presence but do also hope wee have a buy back clause for when mccrorie kicks on and fulfills his potential up in Aberdeen.

Fergie has more experience than mccrorie so yes he would be a good signing also agree hope gers have buy back with rory given game time and a good run of games will show what the young lad can actually do week in week out.

I like most want to have some Scottish talent in the side or even the squad but I genuinely believe the reality is that Ferguson is not getting in our current 11 or if he does it won’t be enhanced any, if he comes I hope I’m wrong.

IMO Ferguson is better than RM, it’s been rumoured since May that Gerrard likes him So we will just have to wait and see.

Ferguson was rank rotten in the opening day defeat by Rangers.
He also carried out 2 terrible tackles on Rangers players that went unpunished.
Would he get away with the same in a Rangers top?
Plus he’s not good enough or worth the money Aberdeen are looking for 👍.

playing for Rangers isn't just about having the ability it's got a lot to do with mental strength sadly I don't McCrorie has that.

I think we could get Ferguson for under £2m. He’s proven in this league with 3 full seasons of 1st team football, he’s tough, good in the air and can score goals in big games.
He can also play box to box with great stamina I think he would be a good signing.
McCrorie has went backwards due to injuries and not playing and he hardly ripped it up while out on loan in 3rd tier of Eng football.

lewis ferguson is 20 / 21 years old and already has close to 100 1st team appearances in our top tier. He is a bit raw but having seen him a few times this is my opinion
He is a box to box midfielder that will run all day. He is tough in the tackle and will learn to control that in time. Rangers fans should know he knows where the goal is. Given that he is 4 years younger than kamara i think he will be a better player at that age. He has huge potential andif nurtured by the right playersand coaches will be a top player.

Turnbull is going to sign for Celtic. It was an expected transfer in jan however due to his start to the season could happen in current window. This was pretty much agreed by clubs after he failed medical.

Ferguson is no where near Jack, Kamara or Davis and never will be, dirty wee pr*ck. Not needed and certainly not wanted by me. Barjonas much better in my opinion.

Jctheger wow quite an outburst there, as said above Ferguson is 21 with nearly three full seasons under his belt he easily has the potential to go much further than Ryan Jack or Glen Kamara where were they at 21 years of age? And can I just say Davis has had a terrific career but it’s nearing its end and young Lewis Ferguson is just getting started so that’s just silly!

Ferguson has much more to his game than dig, he’s box to box, powerful runner and chips in with goals even the odd over head kick. He’s miles ahead of McCrorie and Barjonas in development and big things are expected of him. I think he would be a good signing and give us a presence in the middle.

If the comparison is between Ferguson and McCrorie, here's the way I see it. Both have played around 100 senior football matches. Both are solid in the tackle, both have good energy, but Ferguson shades it there. However, Ferguson's touch, passing and vision are all that bit better than Ross's and he is about 18 months younger and has that improvement in him.
I said on here many months ago that Ferguson could be a Rangers player, but at that time he wasn't quite at that level. But possibly now is the time to bring him in as midfield is the area where we are struggling badly and he would introduce drive and energy to the team.
