I have heard that the Allan deal is done but Hibs want to delay the announcement just now as they need to sell season tickets and don't want a plummet in sales. Like I say it's only a rumour and probably a load of bull. Be good though 😀

Hibs will cash in on the boy sooner or later but with us and Dundee United chasing him it will be interesting. Look at it this way if they don't sell him now he will sign a pre contract in january.

Dundee United signed a Dutch second division midfielder yesterday/ or to be completed today. Can not see Thompson spending anymore cash on midfielders. I also heard this rumour that Hibs wanted to delay the announcement to try to tie up a replacement as not to hurt their season ticket sales.

Would not surprise me if Petrie sells Allan on the cheap to Dundee Utd to spite us

Let's just see how we go with what we have guys give the new management team a chance and also the players we have, never know some of them might even surprise us.

Scott Allan is desperate for Rangers to make their move. I saw a twitter conversation in which someone who was out with Allan and Halliday last year in a bar at Ashton lane, they had been talking about their desire to return to Rangers. The Tweet read Andy Delighted for you, " told you and @ScottAllan at the lane that both your dreams would come true, 1 down hope it happens for you scotty"

Hate to say it but if he was going to come he would have been here already can't see us making a bog move for him now and can't see hibs selling him unless there was decent money involved

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2015 17:14:22
Transfer deadline day move it will be if happening as hibs will have no room to move and will have to decide on the spot if they are really committed to losing out on 500k plus to keep him until pre contract in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Scottish sides would not be able to offer Allan a pre contract in January, you can only offer players outside your own Association players pre contracts in January, any Scottish side wishing to sign Allan on a free transfer wouldnt be able to make their move until May unless they have prior consent from Hibs)

20 Jul 2015 17:42:33
I could be wrong but did Celtic not sign Gary Mackay-Steven on a pre contract last January before Dundee Utd decided to cash in and agree minimal fee for him to go immediately?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I dont think so, if they did then Dundee United must have given them permission to talk to him, the way Kilmarnock did when we signed Cammy Bell. You can only talk to clubs outside your own association in January on pre contract deals. I am sure agents have conversations with clubs, but any deals agreed would be illegal)

20 Jul 2015 18:17:31
Forget about Scott Allen man!! He's wantin down south to play in the reserve league! Get behind the players we have and the ones who actually wanna be here!!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2015 19:41:21
They did sign GMS on a pre contract mid Jan then agreed a fee to sign him on deadline day. This would be the best option for signing Allan I reckon if he does want to come to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Dundee United must have granted permission for them to speak to the player if that was the case)

20 Jul 2015 20:32:51
Is it not only in England you can do it! Pretty sure and Celtic done it with GMS

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2015 21:51:09
Why would Dundee grant permission with nothing to gain out of it! Doesn't make sense mate

Waghorn is some player- fast direct and strong on the ball. Tavernier is a great buy also- Welcome to the Rangers family lads!

20 Jul 2015 14:20:52
Thrilled with these two guys but is that price correct didn't they want £1m?? Warbs must be some negotiator even if that is what he used to ply his trade in.

20 Jul 2015 14:58:50
Weeman I mentioned it earlier in a post with someone else about getting both for half the price that someone quoted was 1m Also thought that the bid for Stevie May of 1m was wayyy off! We wouldn't buy someone at 1m in the Championship unless it was exception and we can beat off other teams for a unearthed gem, so to speak

Stevie May has the potential to be a great player if giving the right service and position but his valuation is £600,000 not 1m something that Rangers would need to think twice about just now! Not so bad, for a Championship team thanks to the lucrative deals they receive from Skysports

20 Jul 2015 16:18:01
My guy says it's 400K not 1m and both medicals have passed.

{Ed039's Note - £400K is correct)

400k is great business for these 2, well done MW

20 Jul 2015 17:03:06
It's £400,000 and a good piece of business as Waghorn's worth that alone. Not at all convinced that Tavernier will do after this season, but good work nonetheless.

20 Jul 2015 17:16:43
Yeah great business from Warburton. King seems to be doing his bit, without spending daft money. People have to take wages into account too. Would take holt too. Things looking good. DON'T TELL LUIGI. Lol.

20 Jul 2015 17:58:12
Great signings and a bargain at 400k with all the other summer signings so far we have spent only 600k and brought in the beginning of a good strong young team MW shaping up to b a good manager and shrewd businessman
