honestly i'm sitting watching this and it is absolutely garbage punt, punt, punt up the park. no passes of note to any chance, cross after cross, just mingin! these players are payed a fortune to play this bad. it seriously is so bad. there is no difference in class of player from the berwick players today, I know where we are at the momment but why this poor?

They are playing on astroturf and the ball bounces everywhere. Also, maybe the players heard the embarrassing songs those persons were singing today and it put them off?

Agree2 Disagree2

You can't play football on a pitch like that

Agree1 Disagree3

The pitch is the same for both teams. No excuses we were rubbish & the singing of our old classics a disgrace! Time to move into THIS century bears. There is a big world out there & this crap is going to hold us back unless we tackle & beat it. Before anyone comes on & gives it the "what about them?" I say grow up! Support the team & leave all this stuff that has no relevance in the past!

Agree8 Disagree0

Sorry but this game was so bad I stopped watching and did the dishes, maybe its because they know that they will win the league eventually players are loosing the motivation

Agree1 Disagree1

Todays astroturf is perfect to play on, the bounce of the ball is consistant and true, any excuse will do for another bad performance. Bobby

Agree1 Disagree1

I play 5 a side on the new astroturf twice a week and can asure you it is easier to play on the deck than to punt up the field all the time. the surface was no exuse for that dross we all watched today. not even the weather until the last 10 mins it was cold but fine! I don't slate the team but on this occasion it was dire, too many go missing every week. apart from the penalty given and scored by shields he was not even noticed on the park in the second half. no joking we are not moving forward as a team and that is very worrying at this stage of the season we have been to all the away grounds at least once and should be gathering momentum as a unit but we look like we are just starting at the begining again can't cope with so called wee teams in about us, we don't play with a system, punt punt punt no 5-10 yard quick passes, they all look scared on the ball ( the defence that is ) does ross perry have a future at centre half? the jury is out on that lad.
im just typing on here what I and my mates are thinking at every home game we go to guys so let's hear it what do you think?

Agree1 Disagree0

How about a bit of unity and intelligence for once? Yes, it wasn't the greatest Rangers performance - but we won 3-1? Why don't we all get behind the club, rather than greeting about tactics; slagging off our players, coaching staff or the guy who saved our club; or singing sectarian songs? It's been a fairly pathetic week from a section of our support. Oh, you play 5-a-side every week? Well you'd know all about tactics then! Embarrassing stuff. Pete

Agree1 Disagree1

@Pete: he didn't say much about tactics, just that the surface is easier to pass on. Your constant slating of others and sticking to the party line of the club is what's embarrassing.

Anon

Agree2 Disagree2

Fair point but are we forgetting its a team of boys not men apart from 3 so come on support them encourage them don't put them down.
has anyone thought of this we win our league the same day as celtic do we see it passing quietly and saying well done to each other or will the spl try to change things to avoid it happening as this will be the first time its happened

Agree0 Disagree0

@pete: Tactics? I never mentioned the word but while we are on the subject what tactics do we show on the pitch? you tell me because a proffesional football team should surley have loads of tactics and different formations, what do we do if plan A fails? Punt! that's what we do. as for the 5 a side slur, looks like you have only ever played a kick about with your mates. we actualy do have tactics as such when my team plays in the league twice a week. Do we just go out and play as individuals and see who can score the most goals? My point was its much easier to control and pass on astroturf 3rd G and 4th G. So if you are happy to be watching our defence fail to make 5-10 yard passes and accepting that apart from Lee Wallace the rest of the experienced players can get payed a very reasonable salary and not be beyond critisism then that is your perogative. i'm more than happy winning 3-1 but are we really any further forward on the pitch? because I think we should be

Agree0 Disagree1

It may not be pretty, but these young lads are learning, most wouldn't be near the first team without last years events, so give them a break. Promotion is the most important thing, although it is obvious that we need strengthening in a couple of positions in the summer before next season

Agree2 Disagree0

What do u want barcelona style football stop your moaning and support team

stevie rfc

Agree2 Disagree0

F*ck 5 a side 3g, 4 g are terrible pitches

john

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said stevie, see if you so called supporters don't like what you are watching, then don't watch, we are playing third div football, go with the flow until we get back to the top, kenny

Agree1 Disagree0

@kenny: if half of us so called supporters didn't watch what we don't like then ibrox would be 3/4 empty, just because we don't like what's on show doesn't mean we don't care. i'm am with the o/p when he says we are not moving forward, so because we expect to win this league and then the next does that mean that the team just does enough to win matches?

We all love McCoist but we just wish he would adopt a better style of football, it would be good for him to watch some of the football we played when he was not at the club under Advocaat and even Le Guen (even if he was unsuccessful you could see a footballing strategy in his style of football). Instead of going along to ibrox and already knowing hours before kickoff that we are going play terribly. And as for not going along then, that won'thappen because we love the club and are loyal to the core, it would just be nice to get some entertainment once in a while. Zikos.

Mccoist cv: a shot at glory
Question of sport
Mccoist and McCauley

What do we expect when our manager can't manage. The whole club needs cleaned out. Out with Mccoist, durrant etc. great players yes. Nice guys yes. But that doesn't help us now. We are at the bottom so let's build from the bottom and stop papering the cracks

Agree1 Disagree1

Rangers have played this style of football for over 15 years why are you so up tight now. b

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt see match but according to wiki pitch is grass?

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agtree kenny not good to watch at times but we do what wr have to to win that's main thing and good ftball will come when we get better class of player in but in meantime let's get behind team we have had enough knocks from outside rangers nevermind our own supporters doing it lay off ally and team and back them

Agree1 Disagree0

If you are talking about Berwick game, the pitch is grass not astroturf. It looks ok on tv but was pretty poor. As for comment it was the same for both sides-i didn't see Berwick play much football either. Rangers will never play good football with guys like Ross Perry in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because winning is considered enough

Agree1 Disagree0

The people who are on here saying that the new astro pitches are terrible really don't have a clue do they. The astro pitches are true, no bobbles, no gouges, the surface is always flat, and the run of the ball is true. If you are a football player then you should be in your element on this surface as it favours technical players. Find it strange that the pitch gets blamed when all of the Rangers youth teams play on astro all the way through their education so they should be comfortable with it. There is also a full size 3g astro at "Murray Park" so I am sure that the 1st team would use that to prepare for any matches played on an artificial surface. One of the greatest managers this country has even known would say to his players, the pitch is bad, the wind in your face both halfs, the ball out of shape, the ref on their side, they will kick you, the crowd against you, the lineman will give you nothing. that's the excuses out of the way now go and play football like you have been coached. maybe the rangers player need to try playing without excuses and maybe the fans need to stop making excuses for their performances.

Agree0 Disagree1

Did any of our fans not see we won it might not have been pretty but 3 points in the bag give the lads some credit unbelievable comments

i hope chris boyd does not sign for rangers, we have enough prima donnas just now!1

Agree2 Disagree1

Why waste a salary on him or any other new striker the gers can canter through next seaon with the current team they currently have a goal diff of plus forty this season, even with a duff defence

Agree1 Disagree2

No it is a rumour and its total lies do u hinestly think boyds going to wait 6 months with no football to sign gor us get a grip

Agree2 Disagree0

Op knows nothing just because boyd signed til the end of the season doesn't mean he's waiting for rangers to make a offer for him and that's a fact! mark.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just like earlier in he season when the same posts were going up Buyd will sign for rangers fact
Fact nothing you know hee-haw what's going
Deal with facts not fiction
here a fact for you mcCoist can't manage and we have the 2nd highest wage bill in scotland and we are total rubbish. A complete joke. You are deluded to think we will attract anything better than rubbish SPL players that no one wants
But saying that Boyn is total mince so he would fit in at ibrox with the rest of the has-beens or what could have beens

Agree0 Disagree1

Funny that, seeing as its on tv that he's going back to kilmarnock. FACT!

Ally can be a grate manager for us if u give him time god sake he lost his best players and had to panic buy to have a half decent squad so get a grip get behind the team that means ally to that's if your a true fan u will back them no matter what and not slag what we have! W. A. T. P

Agree4 Disagree2

What about when the manager threw away a huge lead - that wasn't that great, was it?

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Feb 2013 19:14:24
Tell the truth m8 he's a crap manager & most of our players are crap as well! Sad but that is where we are. Doesn't mean we don't support them but sometimes you have to face up to the truth.

Agree2 Disagree0

What about when he built up the big lead? Was it not great then? Sh#t happened, we're getting over it

Agree1 Disagree0

Sheilfield is not an AstroTurf pitch, it is grass

Agree1 Disagree0

@ 3rd post, boyd signed for killie till end of season then will have pre-season with rangers and sign september

john

Agree0 Disagree1

@6 post read before you write, op says boyd will sign for the gers september, boyd has only signed with killie till end of the season FACT

john

Agree0 Disagree1

Kris Boyd is an overweight, lazy bar steward who decided 18k pw wasn't enough so pissed off. His career has dive bombed since.
He scored a lot of goals, granted but you could count on the fingers of one hand how many he scored in big games, ie, europe, old firm etc.
A total waste of space.
FACT (as you like to say).

Agree1 Disagree0

Kris boyd will score goals in the spl and that is a fact

john

Agree1 Disagree0

Sandaza scored goals in the SPL! We don't need Boyd. We would be better off getting Shinnie from Inverness. Zikos.

Agree1 Disagree0

Brilliant opportunist goal scorer who never did it against better opposition therefore he'd score shedloads of goals for us in the next few seasons.

Would he be worth the big money wages? Well if Green actually backs up his 10 million warchest talk I'd say yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said we'd need to pay big money wages? I'm sure he won't be earning any more than 2 or 3k per week at Killie.

For what it's worth I'd rather not have him back. Let the young lads such as Kane Hemmings and Kal Naismith gain some experience on our rise up the divisions.

It's our defence which needs to be sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boyd told us to get lost when he wanted more money than was on offer. now he's been found out by every team he's went to because he's a DONKEY. I'll make this clear how I feel " GET LOST BOYD>>>JOG ON find yourself another gravy boat!!
