It’s being reported that rangers are ready to offer kent a bumper new contract worth 30k a week. Not sure how much truth there is in this as it’s from the ever reliable football insider. It is paramount that we tie down our best players but whether he wants to or not is another story. Hopefully a crack at the champions league may sway him.

Hope so it’ll keep him happy and push up transfer fee at worst. He’s worth it in my opinion anyway and will make us a lot of money if he does decide to leave further down the line.

23 Nov 2020 22:11:38
Think Kent's contracted for another 2 seasons anyhow so I'd imagine it's a no brainer. sign new improved contract knowing he won't see it out anyhow.

23 Nov 2020 22:19:09
We need to give him an improved contract so we can change the release clause from £20m to £30m so we don’t get stung if he has a great season and becomes a player who interests other clubs with money to burn.

24 Nov 2020 03:22:13
Don’t see the point in giving him a new contract he has 2 and a half years left on his deal a doubt we will get much more than 20 million for him anyway and with C.V. I think we should watch how much wages are going out the door let’s face it we all know if we win the league then players like Kent Alfredo ect will be away in the summer we need to start balancing the books.

Il leave these decisions for the people who know best.

24 Nov 2020 13:04:07
We should be doing all we can to tie down Kent and Kamara👍.

24 Nov 2020 14:36:53
Agreed Coldo.

24 Nov 2020 17:12:31
Kent barisic jack etc will sign new deals i think if stevie g gets a new 1

Said it once an will say it again gerrard never signed kent etc on 4 yr deals for nothing an uf he signs a new deal kent etc will follow suit.

25 Nov 2020 10:40:04
Steven gerrard won't sign a new deal unless klopp stays at liverpool. remember his and klopp contracts both run out on the same day.

25 Nov 2020 15:34:15
Totally with you coldo 👍We must get both kent and kamara on new longterm contracts, with big transfer fee break clauses in them 👌So if some club is hellbent on signing any of them, they'll have to pay top dollar for them along with us hopefully getting a 15%-20% sell on clause inserted into any deal 👌.

So much depends on the outcome of this season, financially and managerial wise. If we don’t win the league I believe SG will go. Champions league is a massive carrot for current squad and incomings.

25 Nov 2020 20:23:40
If god forbid and we don't win the league, which may i add i don't think will happen, i still think steven gerrard will remain as rangers manager as he's got us so very close now to becoming the no.1 club in scotland again. Also he has his squad playing a certain way in which they've all bought into steven gerrard's management style and to change manager i truly think would knock us back a few years again,
where ATM we're very close to being at the pinnacle of scottish football again 👌To continue this chopping and changing manager and ripping it up and starting again won't work and i for one would want gerrard to remain, no matter what, for the reasons i've stated and i honestly 200% think the board would also keep him as our manager 👍.

No need, will probably head out the door at the end of this season anyway. Winning the title is the most important thing. Players can leave on a high with us ready to rebuild.

Hypothetically speaking then BlueWouldDo mate and every bear on here in general, if gerrard were to leave rangers as a winner or a loser (hopefully not), at the end of this season, who do you reckon could/ should replace gerrard as the next manager? When gerrard came to rangers he wanted/ put in place a system he wanted to play all through our youth teams, right to the first team, which of course is the case now. that's why IMHO, i wouldn't be surprised in the least, if our next manager/ head coach to replace gerrard is appointed from within 🤔
As most of us already have read and know ross wilson and steven gerrard both rate current rangers B team head coach kevin thomson very highly and have now got him working closely with them! Our now former reserve manager peter lovenkrands is also very highly thought of within the corridors of ibrox/ the RTC. Of course they would have to show they were good enough but by all accounts both were very highly rated by the powers within 👍I'm stating here and now i'm not advocating that any of these guys will definitely follow gerrard as our next manager, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least and if any of the two got the job, i would absolutely trust the powers at ibrox that think they're good enough in the first place 👌I also think personally myself, that gio van bronckhorst will be very prominent in our hierarchy's thinking and rightly so! This should be a cracking debate amongst us all here and with all our respective different opinions, should be terrific reading and very interesting indeed 👍 Its not to decry one another's opinion,
its to learn/ share all our different thoughts fellow bears! Looking forward to all your different posts on this very important subject.

Not a chance we would gamble on Thomson or lovenkrands. I know we did with gerrard, but gerrards standing and name alone was enough to bring players in who eould in all likelihood never have signed without his influence. I think we would perhaps push the boat out again, for a progressive coach with similar philosophies. I agree we wouldn't want to change the whole system.

26 Nov 2020 19:55:41
Was referring to the players more than the manager leaving, wouldn't rule anything out though.

27 Nov 2020 17:23:24
S.g.l. micheal beal, will be next. Manager, mate,

27 Nov 2020 18:15:04
Michael Beale is a superb coach i grant you charlie chang. I actually months ago on here now, posted about the possibility of beale following Gerrard, as our next manager/ head coach 🤔. Beale may however, follow gerrard to work with him in his next managerial job mate. That usually happens you find 🤔.

If we win the league this season-Gerrard won't be going anywhere, he will fully want the test of champions league qualifiers and if we make it (group stage) . If he is to get the pool job then he needs the biggest test. I for sure love the guy and hope he gets the chance.
