My next door neighbour works at Auchenhowie and has been very reliable with passing information to me over the years - for the record, he made me aware of the Barton interest last year after faxing information to/ from Burnley and Auchenhowie and also setting up the logistical side for Pedro's interviews.

He tells me Pedro has regularly met his backroom staff and JJ (JJ recently claimed expenses for travel to Preston and a match ticket v Norwich - presumed to watch Dorrans) over the past week to talk over certain players' futures, with meetings commenced just prior to the semi final.

Senderos/ Kiernan/ Forrester/ MOH have all been told they are free to leave or being released. Granted some have been injured or gone AWOL, Pedro has made his mind up. They have all been seen going into his office privately in the past week. Given their lack of playing time under Pedro and MW, and Senderos's wage, they will leave. Toral and Hyndman will return to their parent clubs.

Tav/ Hill/ Garner/ Halliday/ Windass/ Hodson and Waghorn are playing for their futures and have been told this apparently, all being seen arriving for training earlier today than the rest of the players and heading straight for Pedro's office (this may also have been to either look back at Sunday or preview tactics, my friend is unsure over this, but given they have regularly featured under Pedro - minus Hill and Hodson due to injury - Pedro is waiting to see what they can offer) .

Wes/ Holt/ Wilson/ Wallace/ Dodoo/ Alnwick to be kept. Miller will be offered a new deal, with coaching the 20s with Murty available if he desires. Pedro has been impressed with him despite initially wanting to move him on due to age at the beginning of his tenure. McKay's future is subject to the contract situation.

Beerman and Bates to remain, and more youngsters are soon to be integrated, notably Aidan Wilson, Serge Atakayi and Ross Lyon impressing over recent weeks in training and with the 20s. It is believed JJ and Atakayi's Finnish connection will aid the transition. I stress here with the youngsters, Faxes have been going back/ forth with Chelsea (Gilmour? ) akin to the Barton point I highlighted at the start.

Lastly, Pedro will allow preseason to rule over the likes of Niko and Rossiter, as well as looking at the other players out on loan at the moment: Liam Kelly, Matt Crooks, Jordan Thomson and Ryan Hardie.

All sounds good until you suggest JJ had to buy a ticket to the Norwich game then claim it on expenses!

25 Apr 2017 20:27:45
He didn't say jj bought a ticket he said he claimed expenses. So could be dinner etc to talk to player/ agent/ scout.

25 Apr 2017 20:54:31
Whether its true or not i hope your right. This is exactly how i would do it if i was manager. 9 or 10 out but 5 or 6 quality starters brought in with youth and loanees back. I think this is doable with a small budget. Need to get away from quantity not quality

25 Apr 2017 20:59:47
With all the wild arsed rubbish on here that sounds very reasonable and believable.

25 Apr 2017 21:42:28
Having seen Waghorn and Garner play under both Warburton and now Pedro surely these 2 clowns don't have a future at the club. Waghorn has got to be one of the poorest strikers at the club and I can't recall another striker who regularly balloons the ball over the bar. Truly awful player

25 Apr 2017 23:07:27
This all sounds perfectly logical and believable. I only have one issue.

Do they seriously still send faxes? The last time I saw a fax machine Scotland had just qualified for a World Cup!

25 Apr 2017 23:33:49
Clydebank blue, your appraisal of players is spot on, if that's where his heads at we're flying, all part of our recovery, can't wait for next season, plus a crack at European football .

"JJ recently claimed expenses for travel to Preston and a match ticket v Norwich"
Claimed expenses for travel and a match ticket.

26 Apr 2017 08:29:54
There is nothing odd about JJ buying a ticket and then claiming for expenses on it.

26 Apr 2017 08:57:26
Haha JFC, but yes football clubs are still using fax machines.

26 Apr 2017 09:34:39
JFC, I believe the fax machines are used as it allows for signatures on documents etc to be done which I think is not possible via email? I remember a few transfer windows ago that David de Gea's move to Real Madrid was scuppered as it wasn't registered in time due to a faulty fax machine?

Also with the expenses, I was just told by my neighbour JJ claimed them for his Preston trip, which I presumed to be the staple items of travel and a ticket. Parky's point makes a logical conclusion too.

26 Apr 2017 10:49:17
Hope your right clydebank blue. we need a clear out and given how well bates and beerman r doing. we should not b afraid to use more hungry younger players. senderos has been an unmitigated disaster not to mention horrendous waste of wages.
For starters we need a dam sight more fight come saturday than last weekend. Nae use starting to play at 2 nil doon. Never will any of us accept that!

26 Apr 2017 12:00:12
Yea believe it or not we still use fax machines, I work in a bank and we use fax machines daily. a lot of documents can be sent over and if they're certified signatory wise it makes it easier to deal with. unfortunately we can't trust emails it could be from anyone and they're too easy to intercept

26 Apr 2017 14:57:54
We got rid of our fax machine over 10 years ago and work with PDFs now - i am sure Rangers are no different.

26 Apr 2017 15:44:14
You would think a professional club would take care of everything before sending scouts out, unless there was no preparation and it was a last minute decision.

26 Apr 2017 15:48:34
wee ecky why is it hard to believe he is claiming expenses as most do when they travel for work purposes.

26 Apr 2017 15:52:01
Give the guy credit at least on the miller one.

26 Apr 2017 16:20:43
i can believe as pedro did state he will speak to players face to face who stays who goes . if it all true am just happy to see wallace get a new contract . wallace will be our joint captain leader legend hopefully at the gers for many years to come. the part that does confuse me is why claim expenses to a match and ticket, surely the club pays all that?

25 Apr 2017 14:04:39
People's thoughts on Cummings potentially signing in the summer?

Apparently a deal was agreed last season, until the cup final fiasco put things on hold. Apparently has a release clause of around 2m or something close to that. Would 100% pay that, sell O'Halloran and Waghorn to recuperate the money lost.

He's a top finisher, scored more than anyone in the last 2 seasons, albeit in the championship. Yes he's a bit of a prat, but you need personalities like that in a team.

25 Apr 2017 14:23:34
Too expensive not the type of player required. Wouldn't give them air never mind £2m.

25 Apr 2017 14:49:27
Cummings was crap against aberdeen
Too one footed for me.

25 Apr 2017 15:41:53
Boaz Cummings is better than what we have waghorn is the same so one footed but at least Cummings can finsh which we really need

25 Apr 2017 15:59:17
You think we can get 2mil for MOH and Waghorn?

25 Apr 2017 17:08:17
Cummings is a wee ned, he'd probably sign for a crate of bucky.

He can stay where he is as far as I'm concerned. There's someone better on all levels, somewhere.

25 Apr 2017 18:55:55
I think Cummings would be alright can't be any worse than the strikers we've got let's face it their pants bailed out week in week out by a older player at the end if his contract nearly his career how much folk thought the same about Griffiths being a Pratt but you need to buck up your ideas playing for the big two always in the lime light still think the transfer fee would be the problem

25 Apr 2017 19:22:44
Youve already answered your own question. He IS a championship player therefore we should not pay more than £500K max. I don't want him anyway. Lee Wallace was quoted as no more than £1m because of the keague he was in. After The Gemmell fiasco and the cup final we should have nothing to do with Lennys morons apart from gubbing them.

25 Apr 2017 19:18:12
same as waggy every one knows he wants to go to his left so they cover that angle and he is useless but they couldn't do that down in the lower league because there is much better quality up here.

he is a championship player at best and wouldn't even score half the amount of goals in this league.

25 Apr 2017 19:21:58
Give them a million plus MOH lol

25 Apr 2017 19:27:25
Definitely need someone who is a bit of a maverick not afraid to show for the ball and can score goals! £2million is a bit much tho would have to throw o'halleran or the like into the deal

25 Apr 2017 19:35:08
He's the type of player we need. A guy with an attitude, a character. He is far better than the likes of moult and Rooney.

25 Apr 2017 19:57:37
Cummings is a wee dafty but he is only 21 and is nowhere near as bad as riordan or o'connor at that age. He has the confidence and ability we lack infront of goal. I've wanted him at ibrox for a few seasons now, pleb or not i don't care

25 Apr 2017 19:28:46
Just an opinion, I honestly think that gap been the 2 biggest mistakes rangers have made. Not getting Cummins and not getting mcinnes from Aberdeen. Build your way back with people who know what the Scottish game is all about. Signed too many guys who don't know what it's about.

26 Apr 2017 00:05:05
Only way I would take Cummings and any other current SPFL player would be on a pre-contract Clubs up here will overpriced their players as they expect an offer from down South and would want stupid money from us and we simply do not have it.

I liked Crawford from Hamilton I think with the right surroundings he could kick on but Hamilton would want between 750k-1m for him when due to Club and Lge andthe fact your buying a possible talent then no more than 250k in which the press and media would have a go at us for trying to rip off poor wee Access!

26 Apr 2017 14:59:04
He's better than what we have, although i doubt Hibs would want to sell to us.

26 Apr 2017 15:50:22
only way i'd say yes to cummings is if he came for a straight swap for garner or waggy or moh infact take waggy and moh for him right now.

he isn't what we need in my opninion and is very much overated but i'd like to get better than waggy in and he is slightly better

26 Apr 2017 16:08:22

26 Apr 2017 16:12:31
I'd take Cummings in a heartbeat. Along with moult. I don't care who he plays for. Be a great partnership. Along with the experience of Miller. Be a great forward line. And one which wouldn't cost the earth. And by the way you can keep lafferty and naismith. Their time is long gone.

27 Apr 2017 13:33:25
china bairn are you serious? right now you would have cummings and moult, but would say no to naismith.

honestly lafferty is a dumpling, but naisy and steven davis are way above what we have at the moment. i wouldn't say no to them just because they didn't want to take a 75 percent wage cut.

25 Apr 2017 01:40:22
I hear Mikel Arteta has been in discussions with Rangers over 'potential destinations' for some younger Man City players who are either being freed or will be available for longer term loans (a whole season) . Might be something JJ is working on, it seems. Could unearth a couple of crackers like Beerman.

25 Apr 2017 04:13:47
Dept is run by lawless relative. It's why they got Roberts. These kids will to the time c if anywhere

25 Apr 2017 08:38:54
Arteta did preach to Wenger about Ibrox being a great place for a youngster to be bled. This is why we ended up with so many Arsenal links.

25 Apr 2017 11:09:18
All for signing a couple of good youngsters, but relying so heavily on the loan market has to stop. Sunday showed how far behind them we are, we need proper investment or the gap will remain.

25 Apr 2017 12:07:31
I think that we would be wise to pick a few youngsters from big teams down south who are nearing the end of their contract.
Like Rossiter and Beerman. Also like Dembele over the Dark side. There is a lot of talent to be tapped and because it's cross border the fees are negligible compared to what clubs down south would pay.

25 Apr 2017 13:24:31
Wearerangers they got Roberts because of deila and the fact they paid a fee probs helped aswell

25 Apr 2017 14:06:33
We don't really need to look at the loan market at all. There is plenty of good Championship level players out of contract at the end of the season that have sensible wages, those are the players we should be going for.

25 Apr 2017 15:14:53
Wrong thebear. Lawless son scouting manager at man city. That club hates us n

25 Apr 2017 19:20:51
sorry onlyshow but i don't think more championship players are what we need at our club

26 Apr 2017 12:06:44
English Championship players? Sorry but When I say Championship I meant English Championship. I don't mean Scottish Championship. English Championship is the level of player we need, a lot of players have affordable wages too.

27 Apr 2017 13:37:24
Even English championship, i think we need players that would get into the Premier League but aren't there so are still affordable. that's why i'd like us to go to Scandinavian countries and find a gem or to get better from Portugal, Egypt or South Africa, places like these have great players not yet discovered and that's where we need to be doing business.

buy small, sell big remember and buying from the championship is too expensive for us right now with most players on 20 grand plus a week down in the English championship.
