Anyone that thinks there is not problems with the take over need to wise up. look at the liverpool.man city.newcastle.blackburn.birmingham.man u ect takeovers. completed in reasonable time scales.how longs the whyte takeover going on now? {Ed001's Note - all those takeovers took months, don't be fooled by the media talk of them being completed quickly, an agreement was reached quickly but nothing else. There is a lot more to sort out with Rangers having a tax case hanging over their heads. You do know that Robinho was bought by ADUG as a good faith payment months in advance of a takeover actually being completed don't you?}

Super sally getting the managers job means one thing, the takeover aint happening and hes happy to work with the restraints lloyds have in place, press unbelieve all you want but whyte and ellis wanted billy davies and neil warnock as the management team.

How exactly do u know this?? Oh wait u are best mates with Craig Whyte arent u! They havent came out and said anything about Warnock and Billy Davies and if they have please provide some quotes. No-one will know anything about the takeover until it is either completed or dead in the water. Am I right or wrong Editor? WATP.

Billyboy! {Ed001's Note - you are right mate, the announcement meant absolutely nothing with regards to the takeover.}

"As a Rangers fan I would happily sacrifice the SPL to win the Europa League would others be the same?"

IF we were to win the Europa League, it would go down in Scottish history alongside the feat of Jock Stein et al in 1967.

I would personally like the Rangers to win every competition entered (as we did in 1929) but I think that's unreasonable. I would also like us to top the league winning every game on the way (we're the only team in the world to have done that) but I think that's also unreasonable these days.

I think the chances of us winning the SPL or the Europa are about the same. 50/ 50? Maybe less.

But I never stop believing. And neither should any of you Bears.

PS ed. .the "banter form" hyperlink ends in a dead link? I need to keep using the rumours form. .

{Editor's Note: I noticed a large team of maintenance personnel arriving at the Football Rumours HQ earlier - no doubt it will return to a pleasing level of niftiness later today.}

McGeady's Spartak Moscow beat Europa League opponents Basle on aggregate, a result likely to keep Scotland ahead of Switzerland in coefficient rankings.
The 2012/ 13 places are calculated on results in seasons 2006/ 07 to 2010/ 11.
Scotland are provisionally in 15th place, while Switzerland, who have no teams left in European competition, are in 16th place.
The 15th-placed country is given two Champions League places, but 16th only receives one.
Scotland were in 16th place for the current season, which means only the Scottish Premier League champions will enter Europe's premier club tournament next season.
Rangers' recent Champions League campaign, in which they finished third in their group, and progress to the last 16 of the Europa League, via an away goals victory over Sporting on Wednesday, have strengthened Scotland's coefficient.
Former Celtic winger McGeady struck an injury-time leveller on the night against Basle to help the Russian side to a 4-3 aggregate win.
Another Swiss team, Young Boys, also exited the Europa League at the last 32 stage to Russian opposition, losing 4-3 on aggregate to Zenit St Petersburg.

Will two Scottish team get to qualify for the champions league instead to one if Rangers do well in the Europa league? due to the UEFA Co-efficient table.

Rangers performances in Europe will only effect the Champions League places for the next season. (2011/ 12) As it stand the winners of the SPL this season will have to play a qualifier to get into the CL.
